The two boxers initially refrained from taking jabs in the media at each other but their dispute has since spilled out onto social media.
Canelo claimed De La Hoya had ‘no loyalty’ in a bombshell interview before his knockout win over Billy Joe Saunders.
The Golden Boy has now seized an opportunity to hit back by commenting on a video of his former protegee teaching a young boxer the fundamentals on Instagram.

De La Hoya wrote: “Please, this guy does everything wrong.
“Head up when he throws hooks. On his heels, flat-footed. What else? Oh, he avoids Charlo.”
Canelo blasted back in response as he added: “Oh really? You want me to talk? F***ing traitor.
“Do me a favour and go f*** yourself.”
Canelo’s bad blood with De La Hoya stretches back to when the 30-year-old sued Golden Boy promotions and streaming service Dazn.

Dana White buries hatchet with Jake Paul and gives YouTuber rare praise for taking on UFC star Tyron Woodley

UFC chief Dana White has seemingly buried the hatchet with Jake Paul by praising the YouTuber for accepting a fight with Tyron Woodley.Social media sensation Paul will face the former UFC welterweight champ in a boxing match on August 28.

The hard-hitting Woodley – who was released by the UFC in April – will represent the toughest test of Paul’s brief boxing career.
And White has commended The Problem Child for agreeing to throw down with the vicious one-punch knockout artist.
During an appearance on the Real Quick with Mike Swick podcast, White said: “Tyron Woodley has punching power and obviously he’s put a lot of dudes to sleep in his career.
“Tyron Woodley doesn’t look like the Tyron Woodley of the past that was putting everybody to sleep.
“He hasn’t won a fight in three years, he’s going to be 40 years old.
“But I will give it to [him]. At least he’s stepping in there with a guy who can punch.”

How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley stack up ahead of their clash
Woodley, 39, has opened up as an underdog against Paul – who knocked out his good friend Ben Askren in April.
The early odds come as no surprise to White, who said: “It has to do with Woodley’s age, and he hasn’t won a fight in three years.”
As far as predictions go, White believes the Woodley that terrorized the welterweight division a few years ago would make light work of Paul.
But after seeing The Chosen One lose his last four on the bounce, the veteran promoter isn’t sure how the fight will play out.
When asked to give his prediction for the fight, White said: “Listen, man. Woodley should knock him out.
Dana White believes the Tyron Woodley of old would wipe the floor with Jake PaulCredit: Getty

“But again, the Tyron Woodley that you talk about that was the champ isn’t the same f***ing guy he was four years ago.”
Despite not having tasted victory in close to three years, Woodley is brimming with confidence ahead of his professional boxing debut.
He told ESPN: “Easiest fight of my career & biggest purse of my career all in one night.
“Basically, they brought me in to take out the trash. Can’t wait to shut this b***h up.
“This is getting done for the culture, the whole MMA/boxing community, to rid this guy of combat sports.”

Boxing legend Mayweather, 42, could earn around £72million from the event, while Paul, 26, could pocket up to £10m.
According to ESPN, Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation have stated that the fight between the two will not produce an official winner.
But while there may be no judges scoring the encounter, knockouts will be allowed.
A spokesperson declared that any stoppages would be up to the referee’s discretion.
Both boxers must wear 12-ounce gloves and no headgear, and it has even been suggested that there could be a fan vote for the winner, though it wouldn’t be recognised as official.
Mayweather is looking in incredible shape for the dust-up in a video he shared on Instagram working on the pads with trainer Gerald Tucker.
Paul’s brother Jake has warned the 1996 Olympic bronze medallist not to underestimate his sibling as he stressed he carries ‘knockout power’.
Speaking of the upcoming fight, the 24-year-old told SunSport: “I think it’s great, I think it brings more eyeballs to the sport of boxing. People forget that boxing is entertainment.

Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter taunts ‘King’ Anthony Joshua over whether he is ‘brave enough’ to agree to fight

OLEKSANDR USYK’S promoter has taunted Anthony Joshua over whether he is ‘brave enough’ to agree to a fight.AJ’s reps have been locked in talks over a showdown with the former undisputed cruiserweight king following the collapse of his Saudi showdown with Tyson Fury.

Negotiations have so far failed to bear fruit and and that has led to the possibility of Joshua’s mandatory title defence going to a purse bid.
And Usyk’s team has sent a jab to the British star by expressing his doubt over whether AJ will face the Ukrainian in the ring.
Promoter Alexander Krassyuk told Sky Sports: “We are waiting for King AJ’s decision whether he is brave enough to get dethroned.”
Asked if he expected a deal to be struck, he added: “I have no idea at the moment. We are expecting his decision.”

SunSport previously reported that Joshua could end up vacating his WBO heavyweight title if a deal for him to face Usyk can’t be reached.
Eddie Hearn said: “We’ll either make a deal or we’ll vacate.
“I mean, we won’t be going to purse bids or anything like that, and mucking around.
“By the way, I don’t blame the WBO. They were actually quite generous to us with our time. I mean, let’s be honest – it dragged on a lot, didn’t it?
“So, I have to take my hat off to [WBO president] Paco Valcarcel, because he did put himself, his neck on the line, to allow that fight, when Usyk had a strong case for it not to be allowed.

“But when the time come, [Valcarcel] had to do what he had to do. So, I’m not annoyed with the WBO.
“I’m just annoyed that it seems that basically AJ is told who he’s got to fight every single time.
“But that’s the problem of having three or four belts. That’s just how it is.”

But not one to miss an opportunity in the spotlight, relaxed Fury grabbed the microphone for a bit of pre-race singing with Michael Waltrip on TSN.
The pair performed a rendition of Fury’s favourite American Pie to the camera.
But while Fury was enjoying his downtime and treating his family to a day out, rival Wilder threw down his latest threats at the British fighter.
Wilder, who suffered his first pro defeat to Fury in February 2020 to lose to WBC crown, is desperate to get his revenge.
And he warned the 6ft 9ins giant he plans to ‘decapitate and disfigure’ him when they step back into the ring again.
Speaking to 78SPORTSTV, he said: “My mentality is – you’ve been contemplating about hurting a person so bad, to the point you wanna disfigure him so his mother wouldn’t even know who he was.
“You wanna decapitate him in every way, like premeditated stuff.”

Light-heavyweight prospect Fury – brother of The Gypsy King Tyson – threw his name into the hat to face the social media star but was ultimately snubbed.
And the Love Islander reckons Paul is doing a stellar job of steering clear of real fighters, saying: “If he gets in the ring with me, it’s going to be dangerous for him then.
“Keep fighting these clowns that he’s always fighting and it’s not going to be dangerous for him.
“He’s a very cunning man. He’s earned a lot of money in his career, he’s a very smart man.
“I’ve heard a lot of talk about this guy that he’s fighting, this Tyron Woodley. He’s a five-time UFC champion.
“What everyone has got to understand is that if there was any point of Tyron Woodley beating Jake Paul, that contract wouldn’t have got signed.

“Why would Jake Paul put himself in a situation where he’s gonna get knocked spark out or even have a foothold in the fight?
“It isn’t going to happen. All you’re going to see is another Jake Paul victory. Somewhere down that contract or something, you’re going to see Jake Paul W.”
Fury is adamant Paul will never test himself against a seasoned pro, adding: “He’s not going to fight anybody who can put a test up because he doesn’t need to.
“He’s making a fortune off of YouTube, he’s doing this boxing thing so he can make a bit more money.
“Why’s he’s gonna get his teeth knocked in for nothing? He’s not a stupid man.
“Whatever he does in his career, you can almost guarantee that he wins at the end of it because he’s the sole thingy.
Tommy Fury is adamant Jake Paul won’t fight a seasoned proCredit: Getty
“You grab these MMA guys that are used to fighting for three hundred of four hundred grand and you say, ‘Come here, mate, I’ll pay you five or six million’ – which is nothing to him – they’re going to take it all day long.
“Because they’ve fought their whole career for four or five hundred grand and then they’re going to fight a YouTuber for three or four million, it’s going to happen every day of the week, isn’t it?”
Fury, 22, would love to share the ring with the former Disney star but is refusing to fixate himself on the fight.
He said: “Jake Paul is what he is, you know. Like Frank [Warren] said: if the fight comes, it comes. And I’ll take it with both hands because it’s easy money.
“People ask me, ‘Why are you getting involved with him? Why is Floyd Mayweather, one of the best to ever do it, fighting his brother Logan?’ It’s easy money.

“At the end of the day, I’m not going to focus myself on Jake Paul.
“I’ve got my own career, I’ve got my own path to take and my own journey to follow.
“But if he comes into that somewhere along the line, of course I’m gonna take that. I’ll butcher him for nothing.
“It’s an easy fight to make. But calling my name is the wrong move for him.
“So whenever that fight happens, it happens. But until then, he doesn’t even come into my mind.
“Saturday night is where my mind is on. I’ve got a job to do and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”

“Tyron’s a seasoned striker who has fought the best MMA fighters in the world but will be dropped by a Disney teen star in 2 rounds.
