Five possible opponents for Mike Tyson as big comeback announced for September including Evander Holyfield

BOXING legend Mike Tyson is set to return to the ring later this year – but the Baddest Man on the Planet is currently without an opponent. The former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world returned to action last November for an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr, his first fight in over 15 years.

And Tyson’s current coach – legendary MMA trainer Rafael Cordeiro – recently revealed they’re training for a September outing.
He told MMA Fighting: “We continue training. He’s an athlete and is always training, hitting pads here in the gym.
“I think we’re going to have something in September.
“I don’t know who because his company Legends Only League is working on it and negotiating a TV deal so they can announce a schedule, but we’re training.
    “We’ll be fighting in September.”
Several names are in the running to face Iron Mike, so SunSport thought it’d only be right to reveal some of the frontrunners to face the 54-year-old.

    Evander Holyfield
Tyson’s old rival Evander Holyfield is gearing up to make his own return to the squared circle this year.
The Real Deal will be welcomed back to the ring later this year by Kevin McBride, who was the final opponent of Tyson’s professional career.
The pair’s clash was due to take place on June 5 but has not yet been rescheduled.
If Holyfield gets through the fight unscathed – or if the contest is cancelled – there’s a chance a trilogy fight with Tyson could come to fruition.

    Lennox Lewis
In April, Tyson claimed his second exhibition would be a rematch with his old foe Lennox Lewis.
Lewis subsequently confirmed he’s open to accepting the fight and revealed talks are ongoing.
When asked if a deal was in place, he told Fox Sports: “Not yet, but soon — maybe. We’re talking.”
But both men have gone quiet on the bout, which would be a watered-down version of their June 2002 clash, which Lewis won by KO in the eighth.

    Shannon Briggs
Shannon Briggs threw his name into the hat to welcome Tyson back to the ring last year but was ultimately snubbed in favour of Jones Jr.
And The Cannon is still eager to face his fellow New Yorker, recently calling for the fight on Instagram.
In a video of himself hitting the bag, Briggs said: “They hatin’ on me. I don’t know why they won’t give me a shot.
“Come on y’all, give me a shot.”

    James Toney
Former three-weight world champion James Toney is also one of the many fighters interested in sharing the ring with Tyson.
Lights Out called out Tyson in March, telling him: “You better not wear a mini-skirt to our fight. No jokes. Lights Out!”
Toney made a beeline for Tyson and Holyfield last May after the pair announced their respective intentions to return to the ring.
He said: “To all those bringing up my name in these exhibition fight, count me in.
“If they want to do it, give me a call. I ain’t going nowhere.”

    Wladimir Klitschko
Former unified heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has been teasing a return to the ring ever since his retirement from the sport in 2017.
So an exhibition against one of the fighters he used to look up to could be the perfect way for him to get back into the ring without taking too much damage.
The Ukrainian, 45, hasn’t appeared to be training much as of late.
But he recently teased a return in January in a motivational Instagram post, in which he asked: “You know what people love to see more than anything in this world? A comeback!!!”

Tyson and Paris Fury plan to have 11 kids as boxer jokes about fielding entire football team at Morecambe

And The Gypsy King wants to have another six with the love of his life
Paris is currently expecting the couple’s sixth child, but family man Tyson wants another five kids with the love of his life.
When asked how many more kids he wants, Fury told The Daily Mail: “It starts with a story nobody knows
“Paris became my girlfriend when she was 15 and me 16.
“When time came for marriage, I asked her how many children she wanted. She said 10.
“I said that will do for me. Now we’ve decided to go for one more. Make it 11.
“Let’s have a mixed football team playing on the pitch at Morecambe.”
Tyson Fury recently enjoyed a nice Miami holiday with his kidsCredit: Instagram
Paris and the kids recently joined Tyson in Miami for a nice family getaway, where they soaked up the sun and enjoyed the city’s nice restaurants.
Tyson is now back in the gym and gearing up for a trilogy fight with rival Deontay Wilder, whom he’ll face in Las Vegas on July 24.
The Gypsy King knocked out the American in Sin City last February to claim the WBC heavyweight title.
Wilder has made multiple excuses for his first professional loss, which he’s refused to accept.
And Tyson believes the Bronze Bomber’s numerous conspiracy theories are a sign he’s not in a good place mentally.
He said: “Clearly he’s suffered his first mental breakdown since I gave him his first defeat. Not surprising really.

“I injured him heavily. As well as the torn biceps he kept going on about he ended up with a ruptured shoulder, while I also gave him a cracked skull and two burst ear-drums.
“I smashed him to pieces. He felt like he’d been run over by an 18-wheeler. Make that a six-foot-niner.
“Then he lost the plot completely with all those mad allegations.
“I haven’t spoken to him since that night but he’s had a lot of mental issues.
“I would be the best person to help him. I will if he wants. Maybe not before July 24.” More

Anthony Joshua could STILL face Tyson Fury this year despite September clash with Oleksandr Usyk, says promoter Bob Arum

ANTHONY JOSHUA could still face Tyson Fury this year – despite his September showdown with Oleksandr Usyk. That’s according to Fury’s co-promoter and Top Rank Boxing chief Bob Arum.

The pair were meant to trade blows in August but saw their long-awaited Saudi showdown scuppered when an American judge ordered Fury to have a trilogy fight with Wilder.
Joshua, 31, is now on course to face former undisputed cruiserweight king Usyk in September, but Arum reckons a December clash with The Gypsy King is still possible.
He told SnowqueenLA: “That fight [Joshua vs. Fury] was going to happen if not for the arbitrator.
“Both Joshua and Fury want that fight. Joshua doesn’t have a walk in the park with Usyk.
‘Usyk is a very good boxer. Obviously, we’ll have to see, but if Fury wins [against Wilder] and Joshua wins, it’s logical that they fight each other.
“If Joshua fights in September, he can still make a fight in December. I know in the Middle East, that’s the month they want a big fight to take place.

“They’re opening up a new area in Saudi Arabia in December, and they want to open it up with a big fight.”
Team Joshua are refusing to overlook the sizeable challenge the undefeated Usyk presents, with promoter Eddie Hearn admitting the Ukrainian could ‘derail’ his golden goose’s career.
The Matchroom Boxing chief told Sky Sports: “We have both alerted the WBO, myself and (Usyk’s promoter) Alex Krassyuk.
“Terms are agreed. The offer we made to them has been accepted.
“We move forward to paper that now. We are going through the contract with their team.
“It is very amicable. They have been partners of ours for a long time.

“This is a fight that could derail the career of Joshua if he’s not on it, if he’s not 100 per cent.
“AJ needs to be ruthless. He needs to show the [ruthlessness of] Derek Chisora with more cuteness and sharpness.
“AJ wants to make a statement, these are the fights that he likes.”
Both men, according to Hearn, are relishing the fight – which is currently slated for September 25.
He added: “Usyk just wants the fight, he wants the opportunity to become heavyweight champion
“[Joshua] loves the fight. We all know it’s tricky, we all know it’s difficult.
“But what else are we going to do?
“AJ is a throwback fighter and, for years and years, has faced all of the people that [were made his mandatory challengers].”

Watch as Jake Paul ‘too scared’ to look in UFC star Tyron Woodley’s eyes in leaked face-off ahead of fight

YOUTUBER Jake Paul has been accused of being ‘scared’ after he avoided eye contact with his next opponent Tyron Woodley. The social media star is set for his fourth professional boxing fight when he takes on former UFC welterweight champ Woodley.

The two went face-to-face in a press conference announcing the scrap – but Paul kept losing his focus.
The 24-year-old appeared edgy and kept looking to his right, as Woodley kept his focus on his opponent.
After the head-to-head Woodley, 39, tweeted: “You’re already scared s***less.
“I don’t have to slap you. But the moment I walk away after I knock you out, the world will rejoice!”
And many people commented on the video that was shared on YouTube by Hopps Plug.
One read: This is the moment Jake knew he had picked the wrong opponent.”
Another added that ‘Tyron is going to melt Jake’, while Donovan Driggers wrote that he ‘feels bad for the kid’ as ‘all he wanted was to be like Conor McGregor’.
‘Tyron got this easy’, ‘the moment reality kicked in’ and ‘I bet Jake is going to cancel this fight’ were some of the other comments on the clip.

Another said: “Kinda feel sorry for Jake, he looked really humble and scared.”
Paul and Woodley will clash on August 28.
The blue touch paper for their fight was lit moments before Paul’s demolition of Woodley’s good friend Ben Askren in April.
The pair were involved in a heated back-and-forth in the dressing room that left Woodley fuming.
And their subsequent slanging match on social media has teed up the interesting grudge match, which, on paper, is the toughest fight of Paul’s young boxing career.

Alexander Povetkin retires from boxing aged 41 after Dillian Whyte defeat bringing end to 16-year career

FORMER heavyweight boxing world champion Alexander Poevtkin has announced his retirement from the sport. The Russian veteran has cited the after-effects of the coronavirus as being a key reason for hanging up his gloves.

Povetkin is going out on a defeat, after he was KO’d by Brit Dillian Whyte in their rematch in March.
Six months earlier the 41-year-old had upset the apple cart when he delivered a monstrous KO uppercut on Whyte to secure a fifth-round stoppage.
But Povetkin contracted coronavirus in the months after that victory, setting Part II of their series back.
When he did finally step back into the ring against the Bodysnatcher, Povetkin seemed all over the place and it was no surprise when he was flattened in the fourth.
On his retirement, Povetkin told Russian website TASS: “The years are taking their toll. I decided to end my career.
“After the coronavirus, a lot needs to be treated, time will pass, I’m not 20 anymore.
“I feel like I’m drunk in sparring and training after the coronavirus, it really affects.”
Povetkin ends his career with 36 wins from his 40 fights, with just three losses and one draw.

Hearn hits back at Arum over Anthony Joshua’s failed fight with Tyson Fury and calls him ‘greediest man I’ve ever met’

EDDIE HEARN hit back at Bob Arum after he was accused of failing to deliver Anthony Joshua’s fight with Tyson Fury for being too ‘greedy’.Hearn had struck up a deal for the two heavyweight champions to historically put all the heavyweight titles on the line on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.

But just as a deal was set to be confirmed, Deontay Wilder was awarded the right to a trilogy bout with Fury after a drawn out arbitration case.
Arum was critical of Hearn and claimed they could have had the fight signed and sealed had the promoter asked for less.
But the Matchroom Boxing boss denied ever demanding more and argued his rival promoter was the greedy one.
Hearn told iFL TV: “This is a guy, he is unquestionably the greediest man I have ever met in my life, Bob Arum.
“But it’s all very strange, just to put it into perspective; we asked for a deal from Saudi, with the approval of all the parties of what they wanted.
“Are you happy to accept this number? ‘Yes, go and ask them for that Eddie’. I went and asked them for that, they said yes.
“There was no going back for more money or give them TV, it was all agreed between the parties. He is talking absolute s***.
“In fact, he needs to go. What was it Naz said? You just need to go, just finish, just finish.”

Hearn is referring to Naseem Hamed, who in 2018 urged Chris Eubank Jr to retire at the age of only 28 after he was beaten by George Groves.
Joshua’s promoter responded to comments Arum made in an interview with FightHype, where he said: “Eddie screwed everything up.
“The Saudis were happy to pay a tremendous site fee. Eddie got greedy, ‘Pay a bigger amount, take the TV.’
“It dragged on for weeks. I believe if it’d just been a site fee we’d have announced and the arbitrator would’ve given Wilder damages.”

Mayweather, 44, said:  “OnlyFans will be a new experience for fans.
“I’m looking forward to sharing a glimpse into my life and some never before seen content while getting to know top fans.”

Eddie Hall’s insane body transformation after shedding SIX STONE for fight vs Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson

EDDIE HALL showed off his insane body transformation after shedding SIX STONE in preparation to fight Hafthor Bjornsson. The Brit faces his strongman rival on September 18 in Las Vegas, dubbed ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History’.
    Eddie Hall’s insane body transformation
Hall at the height of his power lifting career weighed 196kg, equivalent to 30 STONE.
But after last year agreeing to a grudge match in the boxing ring with Game of Thrones star Bjornsson, Hall has significantly trimmed down.
Still, he weighs a massive 158kg, or 24st 8lb, and now has ripped abs.
Hall is over two stone heavier than Nikolai Valuev, the heaviest champion in history.
But punching legend Eric ‘Butterbean’ Esch weighed as heavy as 29st 7lb the night he fought Joe Siciliano in 2007.
Bjornsson, known as ‘Thor’ has had two exhibitions bouts in the lead up to his fight with Hall.
