UFC icon Vitor Belfort claims he’s set for Evander Holyfield bout in December after ‘biggest fight ever’ with De La Hoya

But afterwards, Belfort believes he will be welcoming back heavyweight great Holyfield to the ring.
He told TMZ Sports: “After September, December is me versus Holyfield.
“Get ready for the crossover. We are taking over. Triller is bringing the fights.”
Holyfield, 58, was set to return against Mike Tyson’s final professional opponent Kevin McBride, 48, in August.
But it has since been rescheduled with a new date yet to be confirmed.
De La Hoya, 48, will fight for the first time in 13 years when he shares the ring with MMA veteran Belfort, who is 1-0 as a boxer.
Floyd Mayweather, 44, sold 4.4million pay-per-views for his lucrative crossover bout with Conor McGregor, in 2017, which he won in ten rounds.
But Belfort, 44, expects his fight with 1992 Olympian De La Hoya to surpass the magnitude of Mayweather and McGregor’s money-spinner.

He explained: “I believe this fight with me and Oscar, this is the biggest fight ever.
“The reason why is Oscar is a legendary gold medallist, one of the best pound-for-pound that ever lived.
“He revolutionised the sport. If it wasn’t for Oscar, there wouldn’t be Mayweather. If it wasn’t for Vitor Belfort, Conor McGregor wouldn’t exist.
“So now the new generation will be educated on who these two guys are from Mexico and Brazil going to America, the land of the dreams.
“Oscar became an Olympic gold medallist. Vitor became the youngest (UFC) champion ever. This fight is about breaking records.”

It has set up a blockbuster trilogy decider on July 10 in Las Vegas, with a win putting the Irishman right back in the top of the pile.
But a consecutive loss for the UFC’s biggest star could see him contemplating his career.
WBC champion Fury tipped McGregor to prevail in the must-win rematch – but fears the repercussion of another setback could be detrimental.
He told UFC legend Michael Bisping on BT Sport: “It’s Conor McGregor’s final roll of the dice.
“If he loses this one it’s curtains isn’t it? I think he wins this one and I think he wins it in style, to be fair.”
Fury, 32, likened his struggles outside of the ring to McGregor’s, having seen his boxing career go off the rails in 2015.
A battle with depression and substance abuse saw him vacate the titles in 2016 before taking a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
By 2018, Fury completed a remarkable comeback to the ring after shedding TEN STONE and last year capped off his inspirational turnaround.

The unbeaten Brit dethroned Deontay Wilder, 35, in their rematch to win the WBC title.
Fury is fully dedicated to his craft having put his demons behind him, but compared his struggles to McGregor’s.
The Notorious – who has lived up to his name in and out of the cage – has admitted to losing concentration in training camp.
That included drinking just days before his bitter defeat to rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, 32, in 2018.
McGregor, 32, has since insisted the lack of discipline is a thing of the past, but Fury knows the dangers of not living the life.

He said: “With Conor, you never know what he’s been doing. You never know what he’s been up to in training camps and all that.
“From what I hear, he lives like a rock star when he’s like a week away from his fight, so you can’t do that.
“When I’m in a training camp I’m 100 per cent dedicated to the fight.
“I don’t do anything, I go to bed early, wake up early, don’t drink anything but water, I’m 100 per cent dedicated to the job in hand.
“If I’m going out getting smashed in the nights before a fight, then I’m asking to lose.”

Jake Paul vows to ‘eat up’ Tyron Woodley in two rounds as YouTuber claims UFC legend is ‘coming in a wounded soldier’

JAKE PAUL has vowed to ‘eat up’ Tyron Woodley in two rounds as he claimed the UFC legend is ‘coming in a wounded soldier’. The YouTube sensation faces Woodley in his fourth professional fight on August 28.

Paul, 24, is currently 3-0 as a pro, all by knockout, but has so far only beaten online rival ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 36, and retired UFC grappler Ben Askren, 36.
Woodley, 39, is a former UFC champion and made four defences of his belt from 2016-2018.
But after losing the title to Kamaru Usman, 34, in 2019, he has been beaten in his last four and departed the UFC.
Paul argues Woodley’s best days are past him and will be ‘too powerful’ for the American to make it into round three.
He told Showtime: “I think as soon as I touch him, his body is going to go back to that losing mentality, the fight or flight and he’s not gonna wanna sit there and fight.
“I don’t know, I just see that that’s why I’ve been saying two rounds.
“I’m too sharp, I’m too fast, I’m too powerful and he has 85 days to do this, learn how to box, and unlearn all those bad habits.
“I’m going to eat up his body, I’m going to eat up his head. ‘He’s not going to know where I’m coming from.

How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

“Kamaru Usman put some damage on him, all these guys put some damage on him, Gilbert Burns put the damage on him.
“He’s coming in a wounded soldier.”
Paul’s first-round KO against Woodley’s close friend Askren in April was a career-best, despite his opponent’s lack of boxing skills.
Still, it now leaves the social media phenomenon the betting favourite, having previously made his betting fans millions as an underdog.
Paul said: “I’m not surprised, it’s just funny. I’ve just made a lot of people a lot of money in the past three fights from people betting on me.
“They are stacking the odds, I’ve had people come up to me saying they made $10million, $5million off on betting on me.
“It’s funny, like why is me, the YouTube kid the favourite against the five-time UFC champion?”

Anthony Joshua has Andy Ruiz Jr on standby in case Usyk fight collapses as Mexican reveals ‘worried’ text from Hearn

ANTHONY JOSHUA has Andy Ruiz Jr on the Spurs subs’ bench again in case his bout with Oleksandr Usyk collapses.Watford’s WBA, IBF and WBO champ is set to face his Ukrainian mandatory challenger in London in September, after his unifying clash with Tyson Fury was snatched away.

And Mexican 31-year-old Ruiz Jr has told AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn to have him on standby for a trilogy bout with Joshua, with the score currently tied at 1-1.
Ruiz Jr was the last-minute replacement for drug cheat Jarrell Miller in June 2019 and stunned AJ with a ruthless four-knockdown stoppage.
But Mexico’s first ever heavyweight champ blew the rematch by blowing up to 20st and getting outpointed.
Ruiz told a very stoned Mike Tyson, on his Hot Boxin’ podcast, that he has thrown his sombrero in the ring for a hat-trick showdown.
He said: “I messaged Eddie Hearn and asked about the trilogy between me and Anthony Joshua and he just replied with the worried emoji and the words ‘deja vu’.
“That would be perfect, I just have to stay ready. I always message Eddie saying ‘come on, give me the fight’.
“More opportunities will come if I stay active and busy and keep winning.
“I am pretty sure they will give me the third fight, unless they are scared.”

The Baddest Man on the Planet would prefer for Ruiz Jr to fight Dillian Whyte, who is back in the win column after retiring Alexander Povetkin in their March rematch.
And the chunky ace claimed he fancies the fight, though SunSport understands he has snubbed big-money offers in the past to face the Brixton Body Snatcher.
“Me and Whyte have actually been going back and forth a lot and talking a lot of s*** to each other,” Ruiz Jr said.
“It would be a good fight between me and him.

“I was so happy when Povetkin beat Dillian Whyte with that uppercut, because I feel like Whyte doesn’t really respect other fighters.
“Whyte was winning that first fight but he got cocky and caught.
“But Whyte got the job done when he beat him in the rematch. Me versus him is a good fight.”

It was aired of regular ESPN TV in the States, but they could be in line for a box office clash the second time around.
Legendary promoter Bob Arum told FightHype: “All of ‘em, Ali, all the legends, after losing, who isn’t interested in how they come back from it?
“Let’s find out what happens with Teofimo on June 19, then we’ll figure it out.
“I think a rematch between Loma and Teofimo on pay-per-view does a lotta business.”
Lomachenko, 33, was knocked off the pound-for-pound No1 spot after he was stunned by Lopez.
He returns next Saturday in a comeback fight against Masayoshi Nakatani, 32, in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, Lopez, 23, was set to defend his WBA, IBF, WBO and WBC ‘Franchise’ belt against mandatory challenger George Kambosos, 28, tonight.
But the rising American star was forced to withdraw after testing positive for coronavirus, pushing back the fight to August 14.

The legend, 48, will compete in a special attraction exhibition boxing match that will take place at an upcoming Triller event ahead of Mexican Independence Day weekend.
The bout will be eight rounds, with each being two minutes, and De La Hoya and Belfort will wear 12-ounce gloves.
Belfort has not fought in the UFC since May 2018 when the 44-year-old was beaten by Lyoto Machida last time out but he does have experience of the ring already.
He won his sole boxing bout against Josemario Neves back in 2006 via knockout.
And now he appears to want to get his hands on the infamous YouTuber siblings – who he claims have been hand-picking ‘easy’ opponents for their recent forays into the ring.
Belfort told MMA Fighting: “I’m telling you, you put these two brothers with me, I will fight both guys in the same night.
“You come, you get tired, comes the other brother next round, I’ll beat the crap out of these two brothers like that. Like that. They know that. They don’t want to do it. They’re afraid.
“The Triller guys said ‘Vitor, when we brought your name up, they are shaken up oh no not him!’

“A lot of guys avoid me, especially these YouTuber brothers [Logan and Jake Paul], they’ve been avoiding me for years and they’re looking for easy fights, easy money.
“They’re lucky cause I’ll rip their head off.”
Meanwhile Logan Paul might actually feel the full force of Mike Tyson’s fist in the not too distant future.
The social media star, to the surprise of many including Iron Mike, avoided a knockout against Floyd Mayweather as he survived all eight rounds of their exhibition bout this month.

Now he appears to be eyeing another boxing legend in former heavyweight king Tyson.
He said on his podcast: “Someone mentioned Mike Tyson, like how funny is it? One great at a time. Or is it like you can only fight one?
“My lawyer mentioned it and he was like, ‘No, Tyson will rip your head off, you don’t stand a chance’.
“I’m like bro, I literally just went through all of this, you can’t tell me I can’t beat Mike Tyson. Bro, he’s old, old.”

The first fight took place on December 1, 2018, and the fight ended in a controversial split draw.
Wilder landed a vicious right-left combination in the 12th and final round, sending Fury down hard.
But Fury beat the referee’s count, much to everyone’s surprise.
Fury won the rematch claiming the WBC and The Ring magazine titles just over a year later.
He knocked Wilder down twice before Wilder’s corner threw the towel in, bringing an end to the American’s flawless professional record.
And ‘Iron Mike’ thinks that ‘The Gypsy King’ has Wilder’s number.
Speaking on his Hotboxin podcast with Andy Ruiz Jr. and Henry Cejudo, he gave his prediction: “No way, you know, Deontay Wilder have nothing to be sad about… I just think Tyson Fury has his number.”
The trilogy fight materialised after a US judge sided with Wilder following an arbitration, that he was due a third fight by September.

And the ruling brought negotiations for Fury vs Anthony Joshua to a grinding halt.
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn – who represents Joshua – claimed it was a ‘shock to the system’.
He said: “This negotiation’s been going on for three or four months now.
“And we were always assured that this wouldn’t be a problem. It was a very strange decision from the arbitrator, to say the least.”

Hearn also spoke to Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum.
He said: “I think he was in complete and utter shock.
“And I’ve never really heard him speechless…he was almost shell shocked, I think.”

But the American has stated that he still wishes to settle his differences with Whyte, 33, who has been desperate to face him for over three years.
He said: “Dillian Whyte could have got this work. He ain’t nothing but s*** to my toilet paper, that I flushed a year ago.
“But let him keep fighting. Keep going mate. Soon we shall see each other once more and see that he grow some type of balls.
“It doesn’t matter to me what he said to me. Silence is golden. It’s just like having many roaches and when you put that light on, they are going to scatter.
“You are going to kill some, but some of them are going to go get free. The ones that get free, you can only hope to get them when you put the lights on again. Run roach run.
“He is the bottom of my feet, the scum between my toes. That’s what I look at him.”
His comments have infuriated Whyte as he stated that Wilder just makes excuses as to why he won’t pit his wits against him.
He told Sky Sports: “Deontay Wilder is confused. He’s a very confused, deluded boy.

    Royal Ascot special 🏇🎩

“He will never fight me, he’s a coward. He’ll make excuses. ‘Oh, keep fighting, this, that and whatever.’
“He should say, ‘I’ll knock out Dillian Whyte,’ that’s what he should be saying. I wouldn’t be saying, ‘Oh keep fighting mate.’ He’s just a first-class w******.”
Before adding: “It’s a shame that Tyson Fury is going to beat him again and then I won’t get to fight him. He’ll retire, run into the abyss and never be seen again.
“After he loses, he’ll probably just blame his wife or his kids or his dog, or his cat or something.
“He’s a confused person. He should just accept reality – he’s a pathetic, fragile, fraud clown.
“He ran and hid from me for over three years and has no right to mention my name. It’s a shame to see the last American heavyweight champion behaving in this fashion, it’s disgraceful.”
