Jake Paul is a ‘f***ing comedian’ for calling out Canelo Alvarez and I’d love to knock him out myself, says Ricky Hatton

RICKY HATTON called Jake Paul a ‘f***ing comedian’ for calling out Canelo Alvarez and joked: ‘I’d love to knock him out myself’. YouTube star Paul is 3-0 in his career, all by knockout, but has so far only faced limited opposition.

He beat online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ on his debut, before scoring brutal wins over ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 36.
Paul, 24, now faces former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, on August 28 in his fourth and toughest fight to date.
He caused a storm after opening the door to challenging Mexican legend Canelo, 30, in five years for a world title.
British boxing legend Hatton, who retired in 2012, was among those outraged by Paul’s comments, so much so he fancies teaching him a lesson.
He told The Metro: “I was listening to more bulls*** from this Jake Paul. The interviewer turned around and said what he has done in the ring speaks for itself.
“He’s boxed another f***ing Youtuber, a basketball player and an MMA fighter. What he has done in the ring speaks for itself?
“Is he taking the p*** here? Paul said he doesn’t see why he can’t be fighting Canelo for the WBC belt in five years.
“Never mind a YouTuber, this fella is a f***ing comedian! I feel like knocking him out myself!”

Hatton, 42, was also quick to defend Tyson Fury, 32, after his undisputed title fight with Anthony Joshua, 31, collapsed.
Fury attempted to walk away from his contacted trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, 35, to instead unify the heavyweight belts with AJ.
But Wilder took his case to arbitration and was awarded the right to an immediate rematch, which is set for July 24 in Las Vegas.
Joshua hit out at Fury for ‘let the whole boxing world down’ for failing to secure their Battle of Britain.
But Hatton stuck up for the Gypsy King, and insisted social media sensation Paul is the one putting the noble art to shame.
He said: “What Joshua said about Tyson letting the world of boxing down, you take that with a pinch of salt.
“Because at the end of the day they are both fighting men. It is when you listen to s*** from Paul, I can’t see how so many people take him seriously.
“I think he’s a clown. I thought to myself, ‘is he actually taking the p**s here, is he being sarcastic?’
“But he genuinely means it! My God. I mean I’m watching him now, not for his boxing, but for the s*** that comes out of him.”

    When is Joshua vs Usyk?

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed the date for the fight.
It will take place on Saturday, September 25.
The bout will be on British soil, AJ’s second home appearance on the spin after beating Kubrat Pulev in December 2020.
With the fight being in the UK, expect it to take place around 10.30pm.

Hearn confirmed the news on Instagram Live, saying: “Joshua vs Usyk announcement, don’t want to say two weeks as you guys are bored of me saying that.
    “September 25 is the date.”
    Jake Paul entered elite company
Which TV channel and live stream can I watch it on?
As yet, no confirmed details have been outlined for TV in the UK.
But it is almost certain to be a pay-per-view event, with Sky Sports Box Office the most likely destination.
Expect a packed undercard full of homegrown talent, with the price of the fight night expected to be around £24.95.
That was how much fans had to shell out to watch Joshua beat Pulev at the SSE Arena last year.

Where will the fight be held?
The fight is set to be held in the UK, with fans hopefully being able to pack out the arena to support AJ in his title defence.
Hearn revealed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host the epic fight night later this year.
With the bout coming way after Covid-19 restrictions are due to end, it can be assumed that there will be a full house in North London. More

Canelo Alvarez wants super-fight with light-heavyweight Artur Beterbiev, boxing’s only champion with 100% KO ratio

CANELO ALVAREZ wants a super-fight with light-heavyweight Artur Beterbiev – boxing’s only champion with a 100 per cent knockout ratio. The Mexican superstar is in talks for an undisputed super-middleweight title decider with American Caleb Plant.

If successful, he would have cleaned out the 168lb division and the four belts that come with it.
Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed Canelo could then eye a move back to light-heavyweight, where he won the WBO belt in 2019.
And he will target the most feared puncher of them all, Russian Beterbiev, 36, who has 16 straight KOs, or Dmitry Bivol, 30, who has the WBA crown.
Hearn told Little Giant Boxing: “Canelo Alvarez is the absolute pound-for-pound king.
“He has the right to fight whoever he wants. But, the good news is, he is fighting champion after champion after champion.
“So you don’t have to worry about Saul, he’ll fight anyone.
“Maybe after this he will go to light heavyweight and he may fight Beterbiev and he might fight Bivol. He doesn’t care.”
Canelo, 30, moved up to the 175lb, light-heavy mark two years ago when he knocked out Sergey Kovalev, 38, in round 11.

But he later vacated the title to move back down to super-middleweight, where he has since won the WBA, WBC and WBO belts.
Only 29-year-old Plant’s IBF strap is missing in Canelo’s quest to become undisputed king.
The pair are now in talks to fight in September in Las Vegas.

Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed afterwards that he wanted to take Whyte Stateside to help build his profile across the pond.
According to Sky Sports, unbeaten Franklin, who is 20-0 with 13 KOs, has been identified as a prime opponent.
Whyte has just one win in America, coming against Malcolm Tann in 2017.
But he is eager to land mega-fights with either Deontay Wilder, 35, or Andy Ruiz Jr, 31, towards the end of the year.
Wilder is set for a trilogy fight with Tyson Fury, 32, on July 24 in Las Vegas.
And ex-champion Ruiz is in talks with Cuban Luis Ortiz, 42, having beaten Chris Arreola, 40, on his comeback fight in May.
Whyte will use the summer trip to the States to build up for a bigger fight towards the end of the year.
But Franklin, 28, has already sent out a warning to Whyte and insisted he is not threatened by ‘bully’ tactics.

He said in April: “That intimidation s***, it doesn’t work for people like me.
“I’ve always experienced and always been through rough situations, so a bully is nothing to me. A bully is just a regular person.
“You can try to intimidate me, if you want to bully me, or you can try any of that, but that s— won’t do nothing for you, won’t get you nowhere.
“You’re not going to get inside my head or it’s not going to make me feel any different about you.
“It might make me want to beat you up more, but beside of that, it’s not going to help you in any way.”

Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk CONFIRMED for September 25 by at Tottenham stadium by Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn

Hearn went live on Instagram where he revealed the date had been set.
He said: “Joshua vs Usyk announcement, don’t want to say two week as you guys are bored of me saying that.
    “September 25 is the date.”
Usyk gets his chance as he is the WBO mandatory challenger.
Joshua saw his ‘Battle of Britain against Tyson Fury fall through when Deontay Wilder won his case for a trilogy bout against the Gypsy King.
That will happen on July 24 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Joshua has since gone to claim that Fury ‘never really wanted the fight’.
Joshua’s training camp for his first outing of the year, which was initially meant to be against Tyson Fury, is well underway.

And the Olympic gold medallist has likened himself to the fighters of old – who were willing to face any opponent on short notice.
Alongside a snap of himself limbering up before a training session, Joshua wrote: ‘Throw back fighter.”
Joshua was left bitterly disappointed by the cancellation of his long-awaited Battle of Britain with Fury, so much so he launched an uncharacteristic scathing attack on The Gypsy King.
He tweeted: “@Tyson_Fury the world now sees you for the fraud you are. You’ve let boxing down!
“You lied to the fans and led them on. Used my name for clout not a fight.
“Bring me any championship fighter who can handle their business correctly.”

Now Joshua and Fury will have to come through their difficult match-ups if they are to meet for all four belts.
And AJ looked hard at work in the gym when posting a brutal neck training video on his Instagram story.
He captioned it: “I will live a life worthy of the long lime of warriors that have come before me 2.2.0.1 T.B.F.”
Joshua has played down the threat of WBO mandatory challenger Usyk despite the Ukrainian being undefeated and a former undisputed cruiserweight champion.
When asked about the danger Usyk possesses, the Watford-born superstar told Sky Sports: “None. I fear none of them. He don’t bring me nothing I ain’t seen before.
“I fear none of them. He don’t bring nothing I ain’t seen before. Two hands, two legs, a brain and a bit of heart.
“He’s a good fighter, I’m challenging myself in training. So yeah, let’s get it on.”
The rumoured fight date for a clash between Joshua and Usyk was originally thought to be August in London, with the venue reportedly set to be the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But now Joshua has confirmed he will wait until September, with the location still expected to be Spurs’ ground.
“I wanted to go like August but change of opponent, completely different style, the team said push it back a little bit, prepare properly,” he added.
“This is a fight I need to win because I was at the final destination on that road to undisputed but now we have a pit stop we have to make with Usyk.
“At the end of September is when I’ll be taking on the former undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world.”

Deontay Wilder gives incredibly blunt interview slamming ‘cheat’ Tyson Fury and blaming his defeat on lack of ‘loyalty’

DEONTAY WILDER slammed ‘cheat’ Tyson Fury and blamed his rematch defeat on lack of ‘loyalty’ as he gave an incredibly blunt interview. Wilder was beaten by Fury in February 2020 following their draw two years prior.
Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder in 2020Credit: Getty

But he failed to accept the loss and gave wild accusations afterwards, which included his water being SPIKED and Fury fighting with WEIGHTS in his gloves.
The Gypsy King has denied all the allegations, which were made without evidence, and feared Wilder was having a mental collapse.
But the American in the lead up to their trilogy bout on July 24 has stuck by his beliefs, and hit out at those formerly in his camp with Malik Scott now his new trainer.
Speaking to acclaimed BBC commentator Mike Costello, Wilder said: “Loyalty was missing. That’s all.
“If I had loyalty, we wouldn’t even be here.”
Pressed on whether that is the sole reason he beleives he was beaten, Wilder, 35, simply responded: “Mainly.”
The former WBC champion sacked Mark Breland, who was his assistant trainer, after the cornerman threw in the towel in round seven.
It harshly cost him his job in Wilder’s team, with Scott, 40, who was knocked out by the heavyweight in 2014, now leading the way.

The Bronze Bomber admitted his rivalry with Fury is now ‘very’ personal and more heated than with any of his prior opponents.
He also said the distain towards the Brit is ‘deeper’ than just the loss as he doubled down on cheating allegations.
    Wilder said: “He’s a cheat.”
Fury was in 2015 subject to a failed drug test with United Kingdom Anti Doping.
Alongside cousin Hughie, they put the adverse finding down to ‘eating uncastrated wild boar’.
Fury at the time was battling depression and out of the ring anyway, but fought UKAD with an appeal.
After two years, he was free to fight again when he accepted a backdated two-year doping ban but also protested his innocence throughout.
Wilder’s recent accusations after defeat have otherwise been made baselessly, and lead to criticism by Fury.

In April, he told Behind The Gloves: “Everything he said, it was hurtful and resentful, it was not something I would ever say without evidence.
“It was disrespectful and as a former champion and warrior he has let himself down.
“He has made a million excuses and then accused me of cheating which would have belittled my victory over him.
“If I had said any of this, there would have been a big problem but to me it is all sticks and stones.
“It was hurtful and dishonourable and he has let himself, his fans, and his family name down.
“I trained my guts out for months on end and stood in front of the biggest puncher in heavyweight history, stood toe-to-toe with the mother f***** and knocked him out, beat him, upsetting, to say the least.
“I would never say it. I would say ‘well done, the better man won’.” More
