Jake Paul BETTER than brother Logan but should expect tough fight against ex-UFC star Tyron Woodley, says Rashad Evans

JAKE PAUL is better than his brother Logan, said Rashad Evans as he warned Tyron Woodley to expect a ‘tough fight’ against the YouTuber. Woodley faces Jake on August 28 and will become the social media star’s fourth professional opponent.

The American influencer is 3-0 in his career, all by knockout, and will take in both a weight and height advantage.
Evans, 41, also warned his fellow ex-UFC champion that he is fighting the better Paul brother, but backed Woodley, 39, to win regardless.
He told ESPN: “This one is tough for me because my heart is with Tyron.
“I really, really want Tyron to win. But I think that this Jake kid, I think he’s got a little something. I think he’s better than his brother.
“I think Jake is better than his brother and I think he may punch a little bit harder than his brother. He may be a little faster and things like that too.
“So I think it may be a little bit of a tough fight because of the fact he’s going to be a little bigger than Tyron, but I can’t see Tyron losing.
“I really can’t see Tyron losing. This Tyron that is being engaged right now, I think that this is the Tyron that can go out there and show that he’s the Tyron that he’s always been, that he is the five-time defending world UFC champ, and all those things.
“Tyron’s got power, Tyron’s got hand skills, Tyron’s got all of those things.

“So it’s just a matter of if Tyron doesn’t allow himself to be so caught up in the whole theatrics of it all, to get his mind away from what he needs to do inside the ring.”
Paul’s last win was a first-round KO over Woodley’s old training partner Ben Askren, 36, in April.
But Askren was two years retired and a renowned grappler with limited striking skills.
Paul, 24, also has victories against online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ and basketball player Nate Robinson, 37.
His brother Logan, 26, meanwhile drew and lost to British YouTuber KSI, 28, the rematch being his pro debut.
But in early June, he took boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, the distance in an exhibition bout, avoiding a KO loss.

Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte called out by Charles Martin – the ex-heavyweight champ AJ destroyed in two rounds

CHARLES MARTIN has called out Dillian Whyte and revealed rematching Anthony Joshua is his ‘only reason’ for still fighting. Martin in 2015 was handed the IBF belt after Vyacheslav Glazkov suffered a freak knee injury in their vacant world title fight.

Promoter Eddie Hearn capitalised by offering the American just over £3million to defend his crown in London.
AJ then made it easy work in what was his coronation night as Martin, who was twice floored, decided to sit down on the second eight-count.
Joshua, 31, has since gone on to become a two-time unified champion while emerging as a superstar, with an estimated net worth of £115m.
For Martin, he has fought six times since with five wins and revealed he is motivated solely by the hopes of an unexpected rematch with Joshua.
He told Sky Sports: “Joshua never fought the real me.
“Taking that fight when I was hurt and unprepared is the biggest mistake of my life, but it’s a mistake I’m gonna correct before I retire.
“It’s the only reason I’m still fighting.
Martin, 35, has mapped out a plan to fight Whyte, 32, in a bid to get AJ’s attention.

He said: “Knocking out Dillian Whyte would put me one step closer to Joshua.
“Fury vs Wilder III is happening and then maybe a couple of fights between that winner and Joshua.
“So while I’m waiting I want to fight the best available, and I want to welcome Dillian Whyte to the United States with another knockout loss.
“Whyte is an easy fight. He takes too many clean punches.”
Whyte was brutally knocked out by Alexander Povetkin, 40, in August 2020 but gained revenge with a fourth-round stoppage in March.
Hearn wants the heavyweight contender to return Stateside in the summer before targeting a mega-fight afterwards.

Martin has opened the door to welcoming Whyte back to America, but fears he poses too much of a threat.
He explained: “Unfortunately, Eddie Hearn don’t want nothing to do with me beating his man.
“Whyte said he wanted an easy fight after getting his clock cleaned by Povetkin.
“I guess he don’t want to get get his clock cleaned again if he fights me. I’m going to get back in the ring soon.
“We have something lined up, but once I heard Whyte was coming to the US, I can’t resist wanting to make that fight.
“Whyte ain’t s***. That fight would be a piece of cake for me in the US.”

“I’ve got to be honest with you, that’s what you want from me. That’s what you want from me, you don’t want nobody lying to you.
    “I’m 100 with you. It’s the unofficial. That’s my job, I’m 100 with you.”

Afterwards, the super-featherweight champion detailed his mid-fight message from Mayweather, who has promoted him since 2015.
Davis, 26, said: “I definitely was nervous the whole night, because I didn’t know if I catch him, will I hurt him, or if he catches me will he hurt me?

“My coach, and even Floyd was telling me to press him, but I was like I don’t know, I don’t wanna get caught.
“I laid back the whole fight. And then in the eighth or ninth, Floyd came to me and was like, you’re down, you’re down on the scorecards.”
Mayweather, 44, then added: “I told you to pick it up and show me you’re great.
“We went to the eleventh, and I told you, ‘We’re going to press his ass now and do what we got to do.’

ANTHONY JOSHUA was all smiles ahead of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk as he remarked: ‘When I was dead broke, man, I couldn’t picture this’. The unified champion is set to defend his crown against mandatory challenger Usyk on September 25 in London.

It will be Joshua’s 11th-straight world title fight and potentially in front of over 60,000 fans at Tottenham’s stadium.
AJ, boxing’s second-highest-paid star behind only Canelo Alvarez, was clearly enjoying the fruits of his labour with a fancy meal in his latest Instagram post.
And referencing The Notorious B.I.G’s 1994 classic ‘Juicy’, Joshua, 31, paid homage to his rise to the top of the heavyweight division.
He captioned the picture: “Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, when I was dead broke, man, I couldn’t picture this.”
Joshua, who has an estimated net worth of £115million, was ordered by the WBO to face Usyk, 34, after his unification with Tyson Fury collapsed.
The Brits had agreed terms for a first-ever, four-belt heavyweight undisputed title decider.
But Fury, 32, had tried to walk away from a contracted trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, 35, who took the dispute to arbitration.
Wilder, was later awarded the right to fight his heavyweight rival again, setting up a second rematch on July 24 in Las Vegas.

“But Fury won the last one so I’ll go with Fury because you’re only as good as your last performance. Good luck to them both.”

Manny Pacquiao responds to £2.3m lawsuit by Conor McGregor manager over Errol Spence fight

MANNY PACQUIAO has fired back at Conor McGregor’s manager as he prepares to face a £2.3million lawsuit.Audie Attar, founder of management company Paradigm Sports, is preparing to sue the Filipino legend over a potential breach of contract.

It comes after the 42-year-old opted to fight Errol Spence Jr next instead of original opponent Mikey Garcia.
Pacquaio was due to fight Garcia in September but the fight was reportedly scuppered by coronavirus restrictions.
However, The Athletic write how Attar believes the fight was compromised by other management companies.
Pacquiao and Attar signed a partnership in early 2020 with the understanding that the eight-division world champion would have a four-fight deal with DAZN.
One of those was also expected to be against McGregor before the Notorious suffered a bruising defeat against Dustin Poirier.
Paradigm are claiming Pacquiao has severely damaged their reputation but the boxer has labelled the lawsuit as ‘frivolous.’
He said in a statement: “Paradigm Sports’ lawsuit against me has no merit. I have an absolute right under the agreement with Paradigm to engage in the upcoming bout with Errol Spence.
“If this frivolous lawsuit continues, I will be proven correct in court.”

Paradigm lawyer Judd Burstein wrote: “In addition to the millions of dollars in straightforward economic loss that Paradigm stands to suffer, the damage to its reputation resulting from Pacquiao’s breaches is incalculable.
“Just when Paradigm was at the cusp of establishing itself as a major player in professional boxing, Pacquiao has left its reputation as a boxing representative in tatters.”
Pacquaio’s attorney Dale Kinsella added: “The complaint filed by Paradigm Sports in California state court on Friday is a frivolous effort to interfere with Manny Pacquiao’s upcoming mega fight, and it can and will fail for numerous reasons.
“Moreover, had Manny Pacquiao known that Paradigm Sports appears to have had no intention of fulfilling its contractual obligations, he never would have entered into any relationship with them.
“Should this matter actually proceed beyond Friday’s filing in a court of law, Mr Pacquiao will vigorously defend this action, assert his own claims against Paradigm Sports, and seek to recover his attorney’s fees as well.”

Mayweather looked every bit his 44 years as he went the distance with the elder Paul brother, who he desperately tried to stop.
But the Money man’s bank balance received a healthy top up after their Miami melee and he boasted about the $100m, which is £72m, payday for the clash after Gervonta Davis’ win on Saturday.
He said: “I’m the only person that can do a fake fight and get 100 M’s. I could do legalised sparring and get 100 M’s.”

The American, believed to be worth around £510m, has the perfect means for his jet-setting lifestyle.
He owns a plush £43.5m private jet, that has taken him to destinations including Monte Carlo, Hong Kong, Bali, Fiji and Tokyo, among many others.
And true to form, not a penny has been spared in making his frequent journeys as comfortable as possible.
