Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk has told the Daily Mail: “According to my experience in boxing, the fight is done when both fighters enter the ring and the bell sounds.
“We just have three small issues to co-ordinate, which we’re going to do tonight.
“We have a conference call to fix everything and to proceed with signing [contracts].
“[It’s] some small risky things, which are not likely to happen. But we are professionals and we need to secure even the lowest possibility issues.
“That’s why we keep saying, ‘The principal things have been coordinated a long time ago.’ But all those small issues are in progress. Nothing major.
“We keep saying we’re going to make it within a couple of days. But the issue is our lawyers are in the United States, we’re in Ukraine, [AJ’s] guys are in the UK.
“We don’t need to talk much, we just need to agree on small issues and to proceed further.”

The American won his arbitration case for a trilogy fight against Fury – and that is now happening on July 24.
Joshua is set to face Oleksandr Usyk on September 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that the 31-year-old believes Fury never really wanted the fight and the breakdown was ‘intentional’.
Now Fury has his back and is angry that he is being accused of dodging Joshua.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the 32-year-old joked: “I’m absolutely quaking in my boots, for the big bodybuilder.
“I’m s***ing myself because them muscles are terrifying.
“Listen, at the end of the day I’ve never avoided anybody in my career.
“Wilder’s the most dangerous fighter on this planet. I’m giving this fighter – the most dangerous puncher in the history of our sport – three chances in a row to beat me.

“That takes a lot of balls to do that.
“Three opportunities playing with fire, playing with an atomic bomb. It’s very risky business to say the least.
“You’ve got one man who’s quick as lightning, who can knock you out with one punch.
“And you’ve got one guy who doesn’t have a great engine, that gasses out after three or four punches. He looks good, but looks can be deceiving.
“If it was about looks, I wouldn’t be heavyweight champion of the world, would I? Definitely not, I’d be a road sweeper.”

Fury has promised to ‘run over Wilder like an 18-wheeler’ – clearly confident after he battered the Alabama fighter in February 2020.
He is even preparing to have another fight BEFORE finally setting up the Battle of Britain.
The Gypsy King added: One thing I will say is though – if I now get through this fight injury free and get the victory, I’ll be looking to fight again this year, for sure.

Conor McGregor told to STOP thinking about boxing if he wants to beat Dustin Poirier in trilogy fight

CONOR McGREGOR needs ‘get his mind off boxing’ if he is to beat Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight. That’s the opinion of boxing legend Claressa Shields, who believes The Notorious needs to get back to showcasing his MMA skills.
Conor McGregor needs to get focused on utilising all his MMA skills, according to Claressa Shields
Shields is worried that McGregor focuses too much on his boxing stanceCredit: AP
McGregor will face Poirier for a third time this weekend at UFC 264, with both fighters on a win apiece.
Another loss for McGregor could see the Irishman consider retirement or even another foray into boxing.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Shields, who recently victoriously made the crossover into MMA, said: “I think that Conor McGregor is a force to be reckoned with, but it doesn’t matter who you are.
“You can be me, you can be Conor, you can be Floyd, you can be whoever.
“He has to switch his mind back to MMA. He has to get his mind off boxing. He has to, because he’s not going to be able to beat Dustin Poirier that way.
“Judging on the last fight, when Dustin Poirier kept kicking that front leg, it’s like he’s got to know. Even me, I know. Jab, get that leg out of there.
“You can’t be in a boxing stance in MMA, you have to make sure you’re ready to check that kick, catch that kick, or get it out of the way.
“You can’t just be taking kicks and taking kicks for five, five-minute rounds, because your leg can only take so many.”

Shields DOES think McGregor can beat Poirier – as long as he ‘throws his striking and gets back his wrestling’.
Tensions are brewing between the two UFC stars – and McGregor’s latest actions might just have riled up Poirier.
The Irishman posted a screenshot which appeared to show Poirier’s childhood sweetheart Jolie requesting to send him a message.
    There was no accompanying message.
But the insinuation will likely make Poirier furious and add an extra bite to the pre-fight build-up.

Deontay Wilder splattered with blood after 16 ROUNDS of sparring ahead of Tyson Fury trilogy fight

DEONTAY WILDER showed off blood-spattered boxing boots as he boasted of 16-round sparring sessions ahead of fighting Tyson Fury. The American is fuelled by revenge having been beaten by Fury in their rematch last year, two years after they first drew.

And it appears he is working overtime by doing an extra four more rounds of sparring in preparation for his trilogy bout with Fury on July 24.
Revealing his boots with blood on them, Wilder posted: “16 rds it went down. What’s understood don’t have to be explained.”
The American was twice floored in February 2020 by Fury before the fight was stopped in round seven.
They were contracted to an immediate rematch but amid the coronavirus pandemic, the fight was continuously delayed.
Fury, 32, then tried to instead face Anthony Joshua, 32, in a unification with Wilder, 35, taking the dispute to arbitration.
He was later awarded the decision and right to fight Fury for a third time, 17 months after his crushing first-ever loss.
But Wilder, who has suffered broken hands and injured biceps before, insisted the time off played into his hands.
He told YouTube channel 78SPORTSTV: “At this point in time I’m all healed up and that’s the worst thing Fury could have done; giving me time to heal and I feel amazing, like a young man again.

    “I’m still young, but I feel like I’m 16.”
Wilder fired assistant trainer Mark Breland for throwing in the towel and has now hired Malik Scott as his new head coach.
Scott, who was knocked out by the ex-WBC champion in 2014, is adamant Fury will not make it into round six.
He added: “Deontay Wilder’s going to be heavyweight champion of the world for the second time.
“Tyson Fury will not make it out of five rounds – that’s my prediction for the fight. Training camp is going great.
“Retribution is on the menu, this guy has done everything we asked and more and he’s really turned a leaf into doing things that he’s never done before to get what he hasn’t done before.” More

AJ is keen to right that black mark against his name by returning to America and promoter Eddie Hearn claims Deontay Wilder could be a potential opponent – if he defeats Tyson Fury.
He told Tha Boxing Voice: “I think Anthony Joshua would love to fight in America again. I think he wants to come back and almost put that right.
“I see him coming back to America. I see him dominating for a long time.”
And when asked about whether a Wilder vs Joshua fight would be a 50/50 split, Hearn responded: “That’s something I’d have to speak to AJ about. I guess so, I guess he’d deserve that.
“The energy would be exactly the same. It’s just about undisputed.”
Joshua experienced the great high of fighting under the lights at Madison Square Garden.
But he lost his world heavyweight belts and his undefeated record to Ruiz, before beating the Mexican in a rematch in Saudi Arabia.
Since AJ regained his belts, Fury has won the WBC and The Ring magazine titles, having stopped Wilder in round seven of their rematch in Las Vegas in 2020.

The Gypsy King was due to fight AJ in a bout to unify the belts before a court ruled Fury was contractually obliged to face off against Wilder once more.
The outcome of their July meeting will be key to Joshua’s immediate future, but Hearn could seek to set up a clash with Wilder if the American is victorious.
If not, a return to America may have to wait for Joshua, with Saudi Arabia a likely location if Fury agrees to a fight.

Fans had expected to see the Gypsy King face his British rival but his trilogy clause with Wilder was deemed active by arbitration, setting up their July 24 showdown.
Fury is the favourite to win the WBC belt that he claimed with a seventh-round TKO of the American last year.
But Wilder’s coach, Malik Scott, is already thinking about future bouts to come for his fighter.
He is quoted by talkSPORT as saying: “[Joshua is a] very good fighter.
“He’s shown improvements over time. After we KO Tyson Fury, he’s next. Undisputed.”
Former boxer Scott, 40, was hired by Wilder, 35, after he ditched Mark Breland in the aftermath of the Las Vegas rematch defeat.

And he is confident that the Bronze Bomber will deliver a speedy victory this time around.
Speaking to 78SportsTV, Scott said: “Deontay Wilder’s going to be heavyweight champion of the world for the second time.
“Tyson Fury will not make it out of five rounds. That’s my prediction for the fight.”
Wilder has infuriated Fury’s camp by accusing the 32-year-old of cheating in their previous heavyweight fights.
Despite the defending champ calling the allegations ‘hurtful’, Wilder has doubled down.
He claimed: “You think he ain’t gonna try to cheat this time?
