Speaking to TMZ, Telli said: “I just feel like with Covid and you have 16 days until the fight, he should still be able to fight and make it happen.
“I don’t think that he’s ready. I think he’s buying time, and I just feel like he feels Deontay is at the best looking-wise.”
Wilder is continuing to train ahead of the eagerly-anticipated bout and recently showed a glimpse of his power and speed in a social media video.
The 35-year-old’s coach Malik Scott has backed Wilder to knock the Gypsy King out – claiming the undefeated star is ‘vulnerable’.
News of a Covid outbreak in Fury’s training camp broke earlier this month, delaying the bout until October 9.
The trilogy fight between Wilder and the British heavyweight was initially scheduled for July 24 in Las Vegas.

Although Fury was expected to recover before the fight, he argued he would have missed several days of crucial training – giving Wilder an unfair advantage.
The reigning WBC heavyweight champion is yet to confirm his positive Covid test and hasn’t commented on his health since the news broke.
Fury has asked Freddie Roach to re-join his team after the fighter spent time in the trainer’s gym ahead of his first fight with Wilder in 2018.
And the Brit has promised to come back stronger when he meets the American for a third time.

Fury said: “I wanted nothing more than to smash the big dosser on July 24, but I guess the beating will have to wait.
“Make no mistake, I will be back and better than ever. We will fight October 9 – and I will knock him spark out!”
Should the October scrap go ahead as planned, it will be the first bout for both fighters in 19 MONTHS – since Fury stopped Wilder in February 2020.

Fury’s camp last week said the star had caught coronavirus, leading to his July 24 fight with Wilder being pushed back to October 9.
Despite now having to wait a little longer for his shot at regaining the WBC title, the 35-year-old American is refusing to take his foot off the gas.
And he allowed his trainer Malik Scott to share a clip on Twitter of the star doing some pad work in the ring at his gym.
It comes after Wilde’sr co-manager Shelly Finke claimed the fighter had snapped after he heard of the postponement.
He said of Fury’s positive test causing the delay: “Again now, he did wrong and I’m the one being penalised.”

But he will now have to wait even longer for his crack at redemption after ten members of Fury’s camp were said to have tested positive for Covid-19.
Finkel added: “They didn’t do what they said they had and what they should have done as professional athlete
“There’s so much money, prestige and things riding on this, and we all have a job to do to make sure it happens on time.” More

Roach was eventually invited into Fury’s corner for the bout which was then led by Ben Davison.
And he revealed the 32-year-old wants to get him involved again for the trilogy battle on October 9 in Las Vegas.
Roach, 61, told Sky Sports: “I had a couple of guys fighting in Vegas when Tyson was there.
“I ran into him between locker rooms.
“He said: ‘Hey Freddie, are you still going to train me?’
“I said: ‘Tyson, anytime you want, you know where my gym is, you are always welcome’.
“Fury is a nice guy, a good person, a good fighter. I was picking him to win that fight.
“I see him as one of the best heavyweights. He trains hard, he’s big, he’s a good puncher.”

Fury spent time in Roach’s LA gym in 2018 before completing his camp at Big Bear.
And Roach added: “I worked with him for six weeks.
“Then he went to Big Bear and said to me: ‘Hey Freddie, I can’t breathe up here!’
“I said: ‘That’s the altitude, give it time. I think it’s way overrated.”
Earlier this week, Dillian Whyte launched a scathing attack on ‘w*****’ Fury in an exclusive interview with SunSport.
Fury’s camp say he caught coronavirus, leading to his July 24 fight with the Deontay Wilder getting pushed back to October 9.
Fury has refused to comment and been photographed mixing with fans in Las Vegas within a week of initial reports that there was an outbreak in his team.
    ‘DISGRACE TO BRITISH BOXING’
Whyte, the leading mandatory challenger for Fury’s WBC belt, raged to SunSport: “Tyson Fury is a w***er and a disgrace to British boxing if he has caught Covid-19 and gone around Las Vegas mixing with fans after cancelling the Wilder fight.
“He talks s*** because when you have Covid-19 you are sick and you have to quarantine and instead he is walking around smiling, mixing and taking photos with people.
“Either he has got it or he hasn’t – they said his mate and sparring partner Joseph Parker had it and the next minute he’s out at a UFC fight denying it.”

Anthony Joshua reveals Dillian Whyte was one of two boxers who have ever dragged him into trash talking match

ANTHONY JOSHUA revealed only Dillian Whyte and Jarrell Miller have got under his skin as they dragged him into a verbal war ahead of their scheduled bouts. The WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion knocked out the Body Snatcher in 2015, while his proposed fight to face Big Baby was scrapped last year after the American failed multiple drug tests.
Anthony Joshua has revealed he has engaged in trash talk with only two fighters
After former WBC king Deontay Wilder labelled AJ as not a true champion, Joshua was asked by SI Boxing’s Chris Mannix whether he feels the need to trash talk with boxers.
He said: “Oh yeah, oh yeah. I went into my drawer and pulled out my long list of things to say, I’ve got a lot of things to say about Wilder.
“But you don’t knock a man when he’s down, also. And that was at the top of the list. I have to stand by those principles.
“But for sure, I think me and Wilder, as I say, are cut from a different cloth. He’s what we call… it begins with a ‘b’ and ends with a ‘h’. I’m not like that, I’m more of a man.”
Before adding: “I don’t really get on the internet talking crap. The only times you’ve seen me talking recklessly is against Dillian Whyte and Jarrell Miller.
“Other than that I’m an ambassador of the sport. I’m trying to be clean, representing my sponsorships, represent DAZN properly, I try to stay away from the typical stereotype of a heavyweight boxer.
“It’s difficult but I have it in me to fire up and talk recklessly when needed.”
Joshua was uncharacteristically outspoken in the build-up to his scheduled bout against Miller, as he branded the American as a “b***h” while declaring he pays his mum’s rent.

Speaking at their press conference, he said: “He is a former drug abuser, he hits like a fairy, he is the softest puncher in the division.
“I pay his mum’s rent. He should bow down to me, I am his landlord. The only way he can win is a lucky punch. I am his landlord.
“I am not here trying to play a gangster role, I am here to collect rent. Jarrell Miller is a b***h.”
Prior to his seventh-round stoppage win against Whyte in 2015, Joshua branded his compatriot as ‘irrelevant’ and a ‘hater’.
And in their last press conference, he stated: “He’s just another fighter. My heart don’t beat no fear for him.
“I’ve trained for a 12-round fight, but I think it will go three or four rounds.”

UFC star Khabib’s manager claims YouTuber Jake Paul would ‘beat the s***’ out of Conor McGregor and his team-mates

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV’S manager has claimed Jake Paul would ‘beat the s***’ out of Conor McGregor and all his team-mates. YouTuber Paul has been relentlessly pursuing a boxing match with McGregor and even claimed he sent the UFC star a $50million (£37m) deal.

It came after he called The Notorious an ‘Irish c***’ and insulted his fiancee Dee Devlin earlier this year.
The viral callout earned the respect of Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz – who himself has a bitter rivalry with McGregor.
Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports: “Jake Paul, I like this kid. You know why? Because he is real.
“When he talked about Conor’s wife, [Paul] said [McGregor] talked about Khabib’s wife. I like Jake Paul.
“I think he’ll beat the s**t out of Conor, Conor’s team-mates, all these guys.
“I like his brother too. Logan Paul, I like these kids, they make something from nothing. Even Mike Tyson likes these kids. Mike is my friend.”
Paul even went after UFC president Dana White in a desperate bid to entice McGregor back into the ring.

But the Dublin southpaw – who lost his boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather in 2017 – is more interested in his cage career.
McGregor, 32, lost his trilogy fight to Dustin Poirier, 32, last week after breaking his leg in the Octagon, and will look to avenge his second defeat to the American.
Paul, on the other hand, knocked out Ben Askren to go 3-0 in his boxing career.
Paul has even moved out of his Los Angeles mansion to focus more on training.

YouTuber Jake Paul sent Conor McGregor an Instagram message urging him to ‘take the fight pussy’ after $50m offer

JAKE PAUL continued his relentless pursuit of a boxing match with Conor McGregor by direct messaging the UFC superstar on Instagram. The YouTuber revealed his eagerness to take on McGregor a few days after scoring a sensational second-round KO victory over Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr late last year.
Jake Paul slid into Conor McGregor’s direct messages on Instagram
Jake Paul launched a foul-mouthed tirade at Conor McGregor earlier this week
And earlier this week, the 24-year-old doubled down on his desire to box McGregor in a foul-mouthed tirade on Instagram, in which he claimed his team have sent the UFC’s poster boy a whopping £37million ($50million) offer.
McGregor refrained from responding to the x-rated call-out, in which Paul made derogatory comments about the Irishman’s fiancee, Dee Devlin.
And in another attempt to get the former two-division UFC champion’s attention Paul – whose older brother Logan recently stepped in the ring with Floyd Mayweather – sent a short and sweet direct message to The Notorious on Instagram.
Paul’s message read: “Take the fight pussy.”

After sharing his DM to McGregor, Paul launched a blistering rant at UFC president Dana White, who earlier that day revealed he was willing to let women’s bantamweight and featherweight queen Amanda Nunes fight the former Disney star.
He said: “Alright, Dana, let me try to understand your logic here: So you’re saying you don’t want me to fight Conor McGregor because he’s one of the greatest fighters in the world and I’m just like a YouTuber of whatever.
“But then, in a statement today, you say: ‘Oh, I’m thinking about just having Amanda Nunes knock him out.’ But she’s also one of the greatest.
“Dana, you seem to have this thing where you sort of hate on videogamers or YouTubers and influencers and us boxing and all this stuff.
“But then, you spend half your time hanging out with the Nelk Boys. And I know why. It’s because they have hella influence over the male audience and you know that’s gonna promote the UFC.
“And right now, baby, there’s nobody in this f***ing world who is promoting the UFC as much as me.
Tens of millions of views, number one search result on Google when you type in Conor McGregor, when you type in UFC, when you type in Dana White. So you’re not making sense here.
“Dana, I know the world doesn’t really know this because the UFC is this huge company. But we all know it’s not doing that well.
Jake Paul knocked out Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s exhibition bout with Roy Jones JrCredit: AP:Associated Press
“Anyone who is involved in WME and all the public stocks and everything that went south there, we know the company is not doing well. And I’m the biggest money fight you can do unless Khabib comes out of retirement.
“So if you want the UFC to make the most amount of money, you better start to wake the f**k up and realise that Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor is going to happen at some point.”
Paul’s rant at White came shortly after he ambushed McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis and pelted him with water balloons.
Paul may very well be a combat sports novice, but he’s well and truly at the centre of the boxing and MMA worlds at this moment in time.

Anthony Joshua reveals how Mike Tyson would have beaten Muhammad Ali with ‘science’ on his side

ANTHONY JOSHUA has delivered his ‘humble’ opinion on why Mike Tyson would beat Muhammad Ali if the legends fought each other in their prime. When boxing was suspended during the height of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, fans indulged in discussing the what-if match-ups between greats of the sport.
Joshua gave his verdict and explained how Ali would need to bulk up to fight a prime TysonCredit: EPA
When asked during a JD Sports Instagram Live last year about the Ali vs Tyson hypothetical, Joshua broke the matter down to give a considered verdict.
The Brit, 31, backed Tyson for his extensive knowledge of how to best opponents, thanks to his use of modern ‘science’.
Joshua said: “It’s quite interesting because in the era of Ali’s heavyweight reign, the heavyweights were ranked as cruiserweights.
“So in the Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis era; they started getting bigger.
“Hence why, in the amateurs, they then created a super heavyweight division.
“So the current heavyweight division in the amateurs is what we class as the cruiserweight division [in the pros], so Ali went from lightweight and worked his way up.
“He wouldn’t have been a fully fledged heavyweight. Let’s say we bulked Ali up and added size and strength to him, I truly believe Mike Tyson would have won.
“Reason being, when you watch the fight between Joe Frazier and Ali you see a certain Tyson-esque style in Frazier.
“Tyson used to study Frazier: moving, moving, hooks, hooks.
“He managed to put Ali down, it was a very tough fight for him.
“I just believe Tyson was better schooled because times have evolved, he was more developed with more science, more information. So Tyson would have won – in my humble opinion.”

Fans have held a keen interest in establishing an all-time heavyweight king of late, most notably in the eWBSS series played out on simulations from the Fight Night Champion game.
After Tyson beat George Foreman and Ali knocked out Sonny Liston in the semi-finals, they met in the eSports showpiece.
Both icons hit the canvas in the early rounds but it was Tyson who came out on top with a unanimous points decision after 12 gruelling rounds.
Tyson, 54, made a real life comeback to the ring last year when he drew against Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition showdown that reeled in £60million for Triller.
