Mike Tyson says Logan Paul is ‘stupid enough’ to fight Badou Jack but ex-boxing champ taunts ‘he hasn’t got the balls’

MIKE TYSON said Logan Paul is ‘stupid enough’ to face Badou Jack – but the ex-super middleweight champion taunted: ‘I don’t believe he’s got the balls to fight me’. YouTube star Paul is searching for his next opponent, having remarkably faced boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition in June.

Heavyweight legend Tyson, 55, called on the social media sensation to fight Jack, 37, who has won titles at super-middleweight and light-heavyweight.
But the Swedish-born star, promoted by Mayweather, has no confidence Paul, 26, would accept the fight.
He told Tyson: “I’ll fight him. But do you think he’d want to fight me? I don’t believe he’s got the balls to fight me. I don’t think he’s stupid enough.”
Iron Mike personally apologised to Paul after predicting Mayweather, 44, would comfortably win their spectacle fight.
But after it went the full eight-round distance with no knockout scored it meant technically there was no winner.
Tyson thinks Paul, fresh off his moral victory by surviving against Mayweather, would face Jack.
He said: “He is stupid enough to do it. That would be so beautiful, if that could happen.
“He did really well in the Floyd fight, so it’s a possibility he could go a couple of rounds with you, a couple of exciting rounds.”

Despite Tyson’s call, Paul is in talks to fight UFC legend Anderson Silva, his manager recently confirmed.
Silva, 46, is coming off a shock win of his own having beaten Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 35, on points last month.
But it has not yet been determined whether Paul would fight the Brazilian in an exhibition, or professional bout.

Mayweather – who dated model Nabila back in 2019 – was snapped in New York’s iconic 5th Avenue, also known as Millionaire’s Row.
The luxurious street is a fitting spot for the 44-year-old – who is the highest-grossing PPV star in boxing’s history.
And Nabila ensured she wasn’t out of place either as the brunette beauty sported a huge diamond ring on her hand.
The social media star currently boasts over 576,000 followers on Instagram and uploaded a picture of herself enjoying an ice cream.

Mayweather and Nabila later got into one of the boxing legend’s three SUV’s before heading off in the convoy.
The undefeated ring icon’s other-half Anna meanwhile is currently taking in the sights in Las Vegas.
The 29-year-old posted a series of shots from the Red Rock Canyon in Nevada with the caption: “Love it here.”
SunSport last month revealed that Mayweather raced to reunite with Anna hours after drawing against Logan Paul in their controversial exhibition bout.

The 1996 Olympic bronze medallist booted the Brit out of their mansion as he went into ‘full fight mode’ for the dust-up at the Hard Rock Stadium.
But sources at the time claimed that the pair were set to enjoy a holiday and may even wed by the end of this year.
Mayweather proposed to Anna – lead dancer at his Las Vegas club Girl Collection – shortly after news of their relationship was revealed by The Sun earlier this year.

Tyson Fury insists he’s ‘last person to blame’ for coronavirus outbreak as he slams Deontay Wilder’s ‘large entourage’

HEAVYWEIGHT Tyson Fury has hit back at his critics, insisting he was the ‘last person to blame’ for the coronavirus outbreak in his camp. The Gypsy King has been slammed for the postponement of his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder, which will now take place on October 9.

The bout was delayed when Fury, 32, allegedly contracted Covid-19, severely hampering his training in the days leading up to the fight.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Fury said: “I couldn’t have been more ready for next Saturday.
“After that I’d have been just as ready to knock out Anthony Joshua in December.
“I’m the last person to blame [for the postponement].
“I don’t have a large entourage, unlike most world champions with all their a**-licking hangers on.
“Since coming back into full time camp I hadn’t been anywhere other than my new house here and the Top Rank gym. Nor had my team.
“The only people whose movements I couldn’t completely control were my sparring partners, who change.
“They came in and out of the bubble and everyone knows this town is full of Covid. I suspect we caught it from one of them.”
Fury has been criticised for the postponement by the Bronze Bomber, British rival Dillian Whyte and Wilder’s fiancee Telli Swift, among others.

The Gypsy King has also played down Wilder’s chances, claiming: “Mentally he’s a broken man.
“I destroyed him last time in seven rounds and I will ruin him quicker next time. Inside five.
“He knows that if we fought ten times I would win ten times.”

Over the years, dazzling performances, shock decisions and even history-making bouts have lit up the Olympics.
Here, SunSport runs down some of the most iconic moments and bouts in Olympic boxing history.
    Cassius Clay, Rome 1960
The man who would be known as Muhammad Ali almost decided not make the Games in Italy, due to a fear of flying, and even strapped on a parachute on the plane.
But The Greatest must have been thankful that he did make the trip as he went on to win the gold, beating Pole Zbigniew Pietrzykowski in the final.
Little did anyone know it would spark one of the most iconic careers ever, not only in boxing, but in all of sports.

    Sugar Ray Leonard, Montreal 1976
Leonard goes down as one of the most technically gifted fighters of all time, blessed with speed, timing and magical footwork.
And it was all on display in Canada, where he showed off his famous ‘shoeshine’ technique of throwing lots of fast combinations to catch the judges eye.
Leonard beat Cuba’s Andres Aldama for gold and in the pros later became a five-weight world champion as part of the ‘Four Kings’ era, with classic fights against Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns and the late Marvin Hagler.

    Roy Jones Jr, Seoul 1988
In one of boxing’s darkest and most infamous hours, Jones was robbed of Olympic gold against Park Si-hun of South Korea.
Years later it emerged the offending judges had been wined and dined by Korean organisers, but the International Olympic Committee stated “there is no evidence of corruption in the boxing events in Seoul”.
Jones would go on to become a four-weight champ in the pros – even winning a heavyweight belt – and celebrated as one of the finest fighters to ever lace them up.

    Lennox Lewis, Seoul 1988
Lewis, who was born in London but moved to Ontario aged 12, represented Canada in Korea.
He beat American Riddick Bowe to win gold, sparking a heated rivarly with the heavyweight.
It carried on into the pros but they never rematched, with Bowe even binning his WBC belt to avoid fighting Lewis.

    Floyd Mayweather, Atlanta 1996
In another ugly night for boxing, Mayweather lost to Bulgarian Serafiv Todorov in the semi-finals – but had clearly been robbed.
So much so, that the referee even raised his wrong hand in confusion as Todorov was announced the winner.
Despite the heartbreak of winning only bronze, it was the last time Mayweather – who retired 50-0 after turning pro – ever tasted defeat.

The younger Klitschko won gold against Tongan Paea Wolfgramm in America.
It was not such an easy transformation into the paid ranks for the Ukrainian, though, who suffered three defeats in his early career.
But under the guidance of legendary trainer Emanuel Steward, Klitschko went on to have an dominant nine-year reign as champ before losing to Tyson Fury in 2015.

    Deontay Wilder, Beijing 2008

    Anthony Joshua, London 2012
Only four years after taking up boxing, Joshua beat Italian legend Roberto Cammarelle in front of adoring fans in the capital.
It was the night Britain’s newest superstar was born and within a year of AJ’s pro debut he was a household name.
Fast forward to the present and he is one of the biggest poster boys in boxing, a two-time unified champ and a mega commercial attraction.

    Nicola Adams, London 2012
The 2012 Games was a landmark for boxing as it was the first to involve women’s competiton.
And it was Britain’s Adams who was the first to medal, brilliantly beating world No1 Ren Cancan from China to win gold.
Adams followed it up with another gold in Rio, before winning a pro world title and retiring in 2019 unbeaten in six fights.

    Michael Conlan, Rio 2016
Perhaps the most important moment of them all, Irishman Conlan stuck his middle fingers up to cameras after controversially losing to Russian Vladimir Nikitin.
He then accused AIBA, the governing body who ran the sport then, of being ‘cheats’ in an angry rant which changed the Olympic forever.
The IOC later investigated AIBA and later stripped them of its right to host the Tokyo 2020 Olympic boxing tournament after a devastating investigation.

Boxing fans will be able to attend Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk WITHOUT vaccine passports, says Eddie Hearn

But promoter Eddie Hearn is confident fans won’t have toCredit: Getty
It was thought those attending would have to show proof of double vaccination, which the Government are contemplating making mandatory for those looking to go to large events.
But Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn told iFL TV: “We wait for rules and regulations.
“I don’t believe that will be the case.
“But I know that, obviously from the freedom day yesterday, we now have approval for September 4th for 20,000 at Headingley (for Warrinton vs Lara) and full capacity at Tottenham Hotspur on September 25.
“So we should crack on, we should fill up the stadiums and we should start bringing big-time boxing events back to the UK because it’s much-needed after what was a tremendous Euros.
“And yeah, obviously they stole my song, which is fine. One that I wrote and produced in Sweet Caroline.
“And I’m looking forward to seeing that back at the boxing as well.”
Hearn, like many others, isn’t a fan of the potential implementation of vaccine passports.
He said: “I personally wouldn’t like to see that in place and I don’t know if it’s actually lawfully possible to be introduced. Who knows?
I don’t believe that will be the caseEddie Hearn on fans needing vaccine passports to attend Joshua vs Usyk
“But certainly, we’ve had, at the moment, no notification [that’ll be the case].
“Already in September, we’ve got 20,000 at Headlingly for Warrington against Lara and Katie Taylor.
“And now over 60,000 at Tottenham Hotspur for AJ-Usyk. And we’ve had no guidance that vaccine passports have got to be available or shown.
“Whether there’s a negative test that has to be shown, similar to what you saw at the Euros or whatever.
“But I thought the whole idea of ‘Freedom Day’ was that things are returning back to normal.
“We had full approval, full capacity, for that event and, of course, the Headingly event as well.”
Joshua, 32, is relishing his clash with the former undisputed cruiserweight king, saying: “The date is set and we are fully locked in.
“September 25, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, I put it all on the line again and it’s time to defend my crown.
