Sugar Ray Leonard’s LA home back on the market for £33m, boasts a sunken pool, putting green, and tennis court

IT’S back on the market!Last year, Sugar Ray Leonard, 65, put his amazing mansion in Los Angeles up for sale for an huge £42million.

SunSport learned the boxing legend took down the listing after failing to find any buyers. But now it’s back on the market for a reduced £33million.
The stunning gated property can be found in the affluent area of Pacific Palisades, near Santa Monica and Malibu.
And it has all the amenities a sports icon would want, including a pool, tennis court, as well as a putting green.
Sugar Ray, believed to be worth around £120m, has lived in the home with wife Bernadette for over 20 years now.
    IT’S HUGE
Built across 16,773-square-foot, there’s a seven bedroom main house, plus a two-storey guest house.
It was designed by famed architect to the stars Richard Landry, who counts the likes of Mark Wahlberg, Eddie Murphy, and Rod Stewart among his clientele.
Style-wise, it has a lot in common with a European villa with features like ivy-covered walls, full glass rectangular doors, and the stone walls throughout the property that were imported from Jerusalem.
And there’s six fireplaces, delivered from Europe, that keep the house cosy.
The living room has vaulted ceilings, arched windows, as well as a sheltered outer space.

In the sitting room you’ll find one of the fireplaces, as well as a balcony that looks out onto a view of the Santa Monica mountains.
As for the kitchen, that wouldn’t look out of place in a rustic farmhouse with its wooden beams – but, of course, modern appliances are installed.
    GOLF, ANYONE?
After he retired in the ring, Sugar Ray spent a lot of time on the golf course – and plays with an 18 handicap.
To improve his putting skills, he installed his own five-hole putting green on his estate.
And that’s not the end of the sporty theme.
Sugar Ray, who won titles at welterweight, light-middleweight, middleweight, super-middleweight and light-heavyweight, also has his own tennis court.
When he’s done working out, he can head down to his sunken pool for a dip, which is flanked by a spa, and some gorgeous landscaped gardens.

When the home was put for sale in 2019, Bernadette said: “This home has been a peaceful oasis.
“We’ve been blessed to have a space allowing us to host both intimate family gatherings and sizeable fundraisers.
“My hope is that the future owner will cherish this home as much as our family has.”
However, there were no takers for the property at £42million, but with nearly £10million knocked off the price is it now a bargain?

UFC commentator Joe Rogan changed the layout of his podcast studio because he was scared of ‘amped up’ Mike Tyson

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has revealed he had to change the layout of his podcast studio following his most recent interview with Mike Tyson.Iron Mike made his second appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast three months before his exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr.

Joe Rogan made the table in his new studio wider because of Mike TysonCredit: Joe Rogan Experience
Tyson, 55, was a completely different man to the cool, calm and collected individual Rogan first interviewed in January 2019.
And the former undisputed heavyweight champion’s amped nature left Rogan wishing there was a little more space between them.
During the latest episode of his podcast, the 53-year-old said: “[Mike Tyson] is the reason why this table is this wide.
“This table, I was going to make it more narrow, I even had a smaller table that we were working with as a guide.
“We were still doing the shows back in LA, while we were setting up this studio, I did an interview with Tyson, and he was so amped up for this Roy Jones fight, that I got nervous being in the room.

“I’m like, ‘I like that extra six inches of space between us, because he was so ramped up.”
Rogan wasn’t the only person to notice Tyson’s markedly different demeanour.
He continued: “When he left, Jamie [his producer] goes ‘that’s a totally different person’.
“Because he went from being, ‘Mike Tyson, pot grower, not working out at all’, to getting ready to go to combat again.”

Tyson turned in an impressive display in his exhibition with Jones Jr, which ended in a draw.
And the boxer once known as The Baddest Man on the Planet intends to lace up his gloves again.
When asked if he will fight again, Tyson told Patrick Mouratoglou: “Yeah, absolutely. It’ll be better this time.”
He added: “It was interesting. I felt really good, I felt confident. I felt that I could do it again.”

And afterwards, he celebrated in style by tying the knot with his girlfriend.
Babic, 30, said: “Just look at the screen, there’s going to be a picture for you. Just look at that.”
The screen read: “Lady savage… will you marry the savage?”
Babic, managed by heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte, then got on one knee and pulled out a ring and got the all important yes.
The heavyweight prospect took five rounds to beat former army soldier Bennet.
In the main event, Kid Galahad beat Jazza Dickens in the 11th round to win the vacant IBF world featherweight title.
Galahad, 31, who lost to Josh Warrington, 30, when challenging for the same belt in 2019, called for a rematch.
He said: “It’s unbelievable. After 19 years’ hard work, I’ve finally got the title round my waist. It’s been a long time.
“I didn’t want to leave it to the referees or judges. Now I want to win a couple more titles and unify the division.

“If I fight Warrington, he’s not going 12 rounds.”
Dillian Whyte told the BBC: “Dickens is a brave man but I think they made him take too much punishment.
“His nose went, his eyes went, but his corner should have protected him better tonight.” More

Dominant Lauren Price wins boxing gold for Team GB with flawless performance on final day of Tokyo Olympics

LAUREN Price put a final golden gloss on GB’s glorious Games as she won the Olympic middleweight title.Former cabbie Price admitted she was on a journey into the unknown against China’s Qian Li.

    Price dominated her finalCredit: PA
But the only destination that mattered was the top of the podium for the Welsh wonder as she claimed GB’s 22nd gold of Tokyo and 65th medal in all.
In the spiritual home of Sumo, this was an exhibition of class and quality by the 27-year-old, nine minutes of outstanding ringcraft.
And she fully deserved Britain’s second boxing gold, after Galal Yafai yesterday, to crown a truly remarkable GB fortnight in the grand manner with a unanimous verdict.
Price arrived in Japan as the favourite and world number one but she only made the final by the skin of her teeth and the casting vote of two judges in her last four clash with Holland’s Nouchka Fontijn.
Li, by contrast, had not dropped a single round with any judge in her three contests at the Kokugikan Arena.
That lasted just three minutes of the contest.
The Newport southpaw was giving away three inches but snaked out her right to excellent effect, not allowing the current world champ – Price did not defend her crown – the chance to make any impression.
With boxing captain Frazer Clarke leading the cheers from the balcony, the first round verdict – all five judges backing Price – was greeted by raucous applause.

And when four of the five officials also gave Price the second, she only had to stay on her feet for the final round to be assured of the title she came to take home to South Wales.
She did that and more, continuing to pick her shots as the Chinese blundered into trap after trap.
What a finish. What a Games.

Kid Galahad finally wins world title after gruesome destruction of Jazza Dickens in Eddie Hearn’s garden

KID GALAHAD finally clinched a featherweight world title with a bloody destruction of Jazza Dickens. The 31-year-old was beaten by Josh Warrington in 2019 but the Leeds icon vacated the strap in January, leaving Galahad and his old Liverpool foe to clash for the vacant red and gold strap in Eddie Hearn’s back garden.

And the Dominic Ingle-trained switch hitter methodically sliced and slashed away at the brave Scouser’s face until his corner rescued him before the twelfth round started.
Sheffielder Galahad needed ten rounds to stop the 30-year-old in 2013 and needed three more minutes this time to shatter Dickens’ nose and slashed a seeping wound over his swollen eye.
After grabbing the gold after 18 months out, Galahad said: “I have waited 19 years for that, I am a full-time professional, no days off, no time out. I am over the moon.
“I have had 18 months out and I have just smashed a future world champion from pillar to post.
“I moved home at 15, into a crappy flat next to the gym with five other boxers with rats running around the floor, and now I am a world champion and I can get my mum a nice house.”
    AND THE NEW…
Galahad had looked desperately drained making the 9st limit at the media events during the week.
So it was no surprise Dickens made the brighter start with a string of left backhands scoring in the opener.
Galahad was always trying to tread on Dickens’ toes from the orthodox stance but the Liverpool man was wise to the old trick.
Fellow Scouser Tony Bellew was ringside barking advice and encouragement to his neighbour and a left uppercut had the retired Bomber roaring toward the end of the second.
Galahad worked his way back into the contest in the third but was rocked by a fourth round left hook that stiffened his legs.
By the sixth Dickens’ nose looked shattered and was oozing blood and Galahad was settling into the fight and pacing himself for the final stretch.
Dickens snatched the seventh with a brilliant three-punch combination at the end of the session. Galahad ate two uppercuts and a left hand, Dickens was defying his broken nose to deliver precision punches when it mattered most.
By eight and nine Dickens was fading, his breathing and eyesight hampered by the battered nose Galahad kept tagging.
Both men landed crisp one-twos in the tenth and Dickens’ support whooped when he landed a pinpoint left hand to Galahad’s tough chin.

And then the referee docked Galahad what could have been a potentially life-changing point for repeatedly stepping on Dickens’ lead foot.
The penalty sparked Galahad up another level and he punished Dickens in the eleventh, his white shorts and gloves bright pink with the spurting blood of his wounded prey.
And Dickens’ corner could not send their man out for more harm and withdrew him with a wise showing of compassion over pride.

The video is captioned with a laughing emoji: “Even in this situation he’s watching the boxing.”
The 32-year-old appeared to be watching week two of Hearn’s Fight Camp, held at Matchroom Boxing HQ in Brentwood, Essex.
The main event on Saturday evening was the featherweight bout between Kid Galahad and James ‘Jazza’ Dickens.

Ebanie Bridges catches the eye with Bec Connolly KO wearing fishnet tights in Eddie Hearn’s back garden

EBANIE BRIDGES caught the eye of boxing fans with a knockout win in fishnet tights. The 34-year-old Australian bantamweight weighed in for her fight with Bec Connolly on Friday, wearing little more than a leopard-print thong, causing married promoter Eddie Hearn to look away to hide his blushes.

But none of the fight fans watching in Hearn’s Essex garden took their eyes off the action as the Blonde Bomber demolished her English opponent with a third-round piledriver.
Bridges, who lost to Brit ace Shannon Courtenay on points last time out, said: “To be back in the UK and get my hand raised is amazing.
“Thanks to everyone who came to support, I even saw some Aussie flags in the crowd which was great.
“Having the fanbase and social media love is great but without winning I can’t go very far, so getting the win is great.
“I knew I would break her down to the body and then target the head, that is why the right hand stopped her in the end.”
Bridges landed the only serious punch of the opener when a right hand crashed onto Connolly’s cheek.
A clash of heads later in the round caused the Aussie bombshell some discomfort but did not harm her accuracy.
Bridges scored with a couple of body shots in the second and then whipped in an uppercut that rocked the Swindon lady’s head back.

The tattooed pin-up then dropped 37-year-old Connolly with a mean right hand that collapsed her into the canvas.
Connolly bravely beat the count and should not have been allowed to continue.
But the ref waved them on and realised his mistake with the very next punch as Bridges landed and Connolly stiffened up and was saved from her own courage.

Babic is renowned for his unpredictable character, but it was former army soldier Bennett who caught him by surprise.
The Brit, who toured in Afghanistan, touched Babic’s mask which prompted Croatian to give him a little slap to the face.
But Bennett returned fire which a much meatier slap, which prompted security to intervene before all hell broke loose.
Babic is 7-0, all by knockout, and has never gone past the third round.
But Bennett, 7-1, remains unfazed and accused his rival of ‘pulling people off the settee’ in the past.
He said: “I do think that I’ve got a bit of an advantage over his previous opponents. For one, I’ve had seven weeks’ notice.
“I’ve been at it for the last seven weeks in the gym training hard. I’m bigger as well. I’ll tell you the truth – I’m there to fight.
“I’m turning up on Saturday night to actually have a fight. I’m not just turning up to take a payday. We’re going to have a good tear up.

“I know he’s had seven fights. He’s doing alright. I don’t think he has given any of his opponents decent notice.
“I just think he’s been pulling people off the settee. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s got good stock.
“When I win it will raise my stock massively. I want to be active.
“Hopefully I get signed to someone and we can go from there and get some bigger fights on a decent platform. That’s the dream.
