Watch Eddie Hall train with just his left hand three weeks after having bicep reattachment surgery ahead of Thor fight

EDDIE HALL is back training again just three weeks after bicep reattachment surgery – but is only using his left hand. The former World’s Strongest Man, 33, was forced to pull out of his super-heavyweight fight with strongman rival Hafthor Bjornsson, 32.
Eddie Hall is back training again using only his left hand
Eddie Hall is training just three weeks after having bicep reattachment surgery
But he is already back training as he showed off his one-armed padwork on the road to recovery.
Hall was due to fight Bjornsson – known as Thor – in September but it is now set to be rescheduled to a later date.
The Brit explained he caused the detachment by throwing a ‘lazy left hook’ while in training.
He said on Instagram: “Little bit of bad news. On Monday I threw a bit of a lazy left hook in training and detached my bicep.
“Good news is I had the surgery on Thursday, it was a complete success. The bicep’s reattached I’m able move it already, even after two days.
“Bad news is the fight is going to have to be delayed, it won’t be going ahead on September 18.

“I’m doing everything I can to recover as quickly as I can and I’m looking forward to getting back to training. I’m most looking forward to ripping Thor’s face off.”
Thor also expressed his disappointment in the fight being delayed in a statement but revealed he will still return next month.
He said: “Super disappointed but this is not in my hands

“Next up is finding a new opponent so I can fight in September. I’m taking this extremely serious and I’ll be even more prepared.
“When Eddie is ready, I’ll be waiting.”
The Game of Thrones star is now lined up to fight arm wrestler Devon Larratt, who has replaced Hall.

    How do the fighters compare

    What have they said?
Haye: “This whole fight between us, came into existence when at dinner with a group in Mykonos we were asked who would win in a fight between us.
“I laughed, but out of respect for Joe’s ego suggested it would be close, maybe a draw – whilst winking to Joe.
“Joe’s straight-faced response was very different, he was deadly serious stating he would win in a fight today – I assumed it was just the tequila talking.
“And that’s exactly where it started. A boozy night in Mykonos, two alpha males peacocking with a crowd of girls.
“Fast forward two weeks, I remain happily retired from boxing, with no intentions to make a traditional comeback to challenge the monsters of the division but am fit and ready to prove my point against my overconfident billionaire buddy.
“I would’ve been more than happy to prove this point behind closed doors, I suggested a 4-round spar in my Hayemaker Gym in London, which would have been more than enough to shut him up.
“But for Fournier, the ‘Ric Flair’ of the boxing world, this would have done nothing for his ‘legacy’.
“Joe asked what it would cost to get me through the ropes one last time for an official fight, on a real stage.
“I told him it would have to be a package rivalling my last PPV blockbusters. A few calls with the lawyers, and here we are.” More

Tyson Fury remains top of Ring Magazine’s heavyweight rankings – with Joshua, Whyte and Joyce in next 10

TABLE-TOPPING Tyson Fury is joined by two Brit rivals in Ring Magazine’s latest list of the world’s best heavyweights. The Gypsy King, Anthony Joshua and American Deontay Wilder retain their respective one-two-three rankings.

WBC king Tyson Fury is out on his own in the rankings after stopping third-placed Deontay Wilder in their rematch 18 months agoCredit: Getty
Dillian Whyte is up to fourth, with fellow Londoner Joe Joyce sneaking into the final spot.
Unbeaten WBC king Fury would cement his position if he repeats an emphatic February 2020 win over Wilder in their trilogy bout in two months’ time.
But Whyte is ready to step in against the big-hitting Yank if Fury pulls out on compassionate grounds.
Fury, 33, remains by his new baby Athena’s bedside after she came off ventilators and out of intensive care.
Athena, who is Fury and wife Paris’s sixth child, is recovering, having been resuscitated after “dying for three minutes”.
The Gypsy King is understandably focused on new baby daughter Athena’s recovery as Ring Magazine releases its new rankings list

And Fury’s dad John told BT Sport: “Nobody could expect a boxing match to go on in times like this.
“Family is family, business is business and sport is sport but family is first and foremost.
“I am his dad and he is here now and if problems persist then we will cancel the fight, I will cancel the fight.

“But we want to fight Wilder so hopefully he gets his daughter home, everything runs smoothly and then hopefully we start camp on the 14th or 15th (August).”
SunSport understands 30-2 fans’ favourite Whyte, is staying ready, just in case, having waited for a world title shot since 2017.
But it’s Joshua who is behind only Fury in Ring Magazine’s rankings, after retaining his three world crowns with an impressive nine-round KO of Kubrat Pulev last December.

Dillian Whyte ready to face Wilder on October 9 but Tyson Fury says there is ‘plenty of time’ to train for trilogy

DILLIAN WHYTE is ready to fight Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight world title if Tyson Fury needs to pull out of his rescheduled defence on compassionate grounds. The undefeated Gypsy King has his overdue trilogy bout with the American booked for October 9, but is currently at wife Paris and new daughter Athena’s bedside after the baby died briefly after birth and had to be resuscitated.

Tyson Fury has been spending valuable time with his family but said he will still be ready to fight ‘a mug’ like Deontay Wilder for their trilogy
The 33-year-old has given regular updates on his child coming out of intensive care and has been busy raising money for the brilliant Alder Hey hospital that saved her.
But worried dad and new grandfather John has vowed to block his son from flying to Las Vegas to begin his already-delayed camp, if he shows any signs of stress or concern about leaving his young family.
The outspoken former fighter told BT Sport: “Nobody could expect a boxing match to go on in times like this. Family is family, business is business and sport is sport but family is first and foremost, at the front of the queue.
“Because if you are a happy family man who knows everything is alright at home then you can perform on the night.
“I am his dad and he is here now and if problems persist then we will cancel the fight, I will cancel the fight.
“But we want to fight Wilder so hopefully he gets his daughter home, everything runs smoothly and then hopefully we start camp on the 14th or 15th (August). But if it is not right then it is not right. It’s only a boxing match, let people wait.

“I don’t care if he fights Wilder next year, or he never fights him”
On Monday, after a four mile run with his father in Liverpool, Tyson added: “We hope to God to get the baby out of hospital on Wednesday and then I can start training for the big dosser Deontay Wilder.
“That gives me about seven-and-a-half weeks and that is plenty of time for a mug like that.”
But, if Fury starts full-time training on Wednesday and has to finished training at the start of October to complete the big-fight media duties, he will actually be scraping barely six weeks of dedicated training.
It is 18 long months since Fury destroyed Wilder in their second clash and Whyte was already calling for the 6ft 9in Traveller to be made champion in recess, after his alleged case of covid scuppered their July bout, as they have done with other champions hit by injury or illness.
SunSport understands the 30-2 fans’ favourite, who has been kept frustratingly in the frame for a WBC world title shot since late 2017, is staying ready in case Fury needs more time away from the ring and the sanctioning body finally gives him his crack at the green and gold belt
The Brixton Body Snatcher would like WBC boss Maurico Sulaiman to take immediate action and put their version of the title back in the mix by putting Fury into recess and ordering Wilder to fight him.
And, if successful against the Bronze Bomber, he would have no problem fighting Fury as soon as he is ready to return to action.

Oleksandr Usyk told Anthony Joshua showdown is a ‘huge leap’ as he bids to derail undisputed title fight with Tyson Fury

OLEKSANDR USYK will find Anthony Joshua too big a ‘leap’ to overcome when they throw down next month. The former undisputed cruiserweight champion will challenge AJ for the unified heavyweight titles on September 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The former cruiserweight king has beefed up ahead of his clash with AJCredit: Instagram / @usyk17.promotions
Slick southpaw Usyk has been tipped by many to give Joshua one of the toughest tests of his career, but up-and-coming heavyweight Fabio Wardley reckons the Watford warrior will be too much to overcome.
He told Betfred TV’s boxing show: “[Oleksandr Usyk] has not pulled off the best performances since he’s been in the heavyweight division.
“So to then jump in with someone like Joshua, it’s quite a big leap.
“Not to say that Usyk doesn’t have the experience to deal with that but just going off what we have seen, that is where I’d edge it.
“I think he’s found that adjusting period into the heavyweight slightly more difficult than he initially anticipated.”
Usyk, 34, has put on a considerable amount of mass in a bid to dethrone Joshua and scupper the Brit’s eagerly-anticipated showdown with Tyson Fury.

But promoter Eddie Hearn reckons the undefeated Ukrainian is still an undersized heavyweight.
He told talkSPORT: “I think that Usyk will never be a fully-fledged heavyweight – a real heavyweight in terms of size.”
The Matchroom Boxing chief, however, reckons Olympic gold medallist Usyk makes up for his lack of size with his array of skills.
He continued: “What he will always have is a huge amount of skill.
“It takes time for people to bed into heavyweight, so put it this way, it would’ve been a lot easier fight for AJ a year-and-a-half ago.
“Now Usyk has fought a real heavyweight contender in Chisora, that will actually help him to start to understand what needs to be done.
“But AJ’s a different kind of beast. A good big guy will always beat a good small guy, so we’ll see.”
Joshua, 31, is relishing his Tottenham tussle with his fellow Olympian, saying: “The date is set and we are fully locked in.
“September 25, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, I put it all on the line again and it’s time to defend my crown.
“We are two Olympic gold medallists who have fought our way to the top and never avoided challenges.
“The stadium is exceptional, the atmosphere will be electric, I’m honoured to be the first person to fight in such an awe-inspiring venue.

“The stage is set and I am ready to handle business.”
AJ hasn’t set foot in the ring since his ninth-round knockout of Bulgarian bruiser Kubrat Pulev last December.
Usyk, meanwhile, was last in action against Dereck Chisora last November.

Jake Paul reveals 13-man ‘hit-list’ with Conor McGregor, Tommy Fury and his own brother Logan Paul

JAKE PAUL revealed his 13-man boxing ‘hit-list’ which includes Conor McGregor, Tommy Fury and his own brother Logan Paul. The YouTube sensation already has online rival ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren ticked off.
    Jake Paul’s boxing ‘hit-list’
Jake Paul names his boxing ‘hit-list’
And Paul will look to add to that on August 29, in his fourth and toughest fight to date against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
He took to Instagram to then add, Canelo Alvarez, Nate Diaz or Nick DiazKamaru Usman, Fury, McGregor, KSI, Gervonta Davis and brother Logan.
Speaking to SunSport days before the social media post, Paul revealed the list grows after each fight, and has some unnamed rivals yet to be included.
He said: “It sort of changes and moulds as I go fight by fight.
“But I guess, Canelo Alvarez, Kamaru Usman, Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, you know, KSI will always be on that list, be who knows what will happen there.
“Tommy Fury’s on that list, I feel like I’m forgetting names but there’s some fighters I’m thinking of right now that I don’t even want to mention as it’s not worth giving them the clout to.
“I think after this fight, I’m going to go back to the drawing board and re-up the list and actually write it down, that’s a good idea.”

Paul, 24, did go back to the drawing board – quite literally a white one – as he listed his dream opponents.
    Canelo, 31, is boxing’s current pound-for-pound No1 and a four-weight champion.
But the Mexican legend should never be in the ring with anyone not of championship calibre.
Brothers Nate, 36, and Nick, 37, are both veterans of the UFC who have hinted at crossing over to the boxing ring before.
SunSport understands with Nate left with just one fight on his UFC contract, talks with Paul’s camp have taken place.
So too had Usman, 34, but a deal is unlikely to be agreed with the UFC welterweight champion one of the promotion’s leading stars.
For the same reason it makes any negotiations with McGregor, 33, difficult, with the Irishman refusing to even acknowledge Paul.
    ROAD TO FURY
One man who is though is Fury, 22, brother to heavyweight champion Tyson, 33.
The 6-0 light-heavyweight had feuded with Paul online and even signed a two-fight deal with the American’s broadcasters Showtime.
Fury will feature on his rival’s undercard this month and a win for both is expected to line them up with a pay-per-view fight of their own.
Also on the list is YouTube foe KSI, 28, who beat Paul’s brother Logan, 26, in 2019 by spilt-decision.
But the Brit is yet to return to the ring, with a grudge match between the two growing less likely.
A surprise name mentioned was Gervonta Davis, 26, who is still a super-featherweight champion.
The end-game now is to become a world champion, just to say I did it because everyone said I couldn’t.Jake Paul
That means Paul is FOUR STONE heavier Davis, a protege of Floyd Mayweather’s.
And lastly both the Paul brothers have talked up a fight between them, despite their parents opposing the idea.
Paul explained his A-list of opponents is all part of his masterplan to eventually upset the odds and become an unlikely world champion.
He said: “The end-game now is to become a world champion, just to say I did it because everyone said I couldn’t.
“To get a world championship belt and to make history and leave an everlasting impact on this sport, create amazing events, and cards and fights that people remember forever.
    “And to retire on top.”

Woodley’s clash with the social media star turned boxer will mark his professional boxing debut, which Showtime chief Stephen Espinoza claims will see The Chosen One take home a ‘career-high’ purse.
He told MMA Fighting: “I think there are some people out there who dismissed Tyron’s claim as something for marketing.
“That wasn’t said, Tyron didn’t make that comment to market the event. That doesn’t sell pay-per-views.
“He made that comment because it’s true. I’ve talked to him about it, I’ve talked to Malki [Kawa] about it and they all confirmed it is a career-high payday.
“He is getting a guarantee that is more than he’s ever made before. That does say something.
“It says something about the business model that Jake has and it says something about sort of the business model of boxing versus MMA where there’s more of a tradition of the fighters taking home the lion’s share of the money.”

Woodley is champing at the bit to get his hands on Paul and has vowed to viciously KO the 24-year-old.
He said: “You will visualize Jake Paul getting his head knocked smooth off his neck.
“Sometimes you talk yourself into a situation that you can’t back yourself out of … my mom used to say, ‘Your mouth wrote a check that your ass can’t cash.’ That’s exactly what happened.
“Now, you got a motherfer that’s going to fight you like you ain’t never been fought before.
“Ain’t no sparring you can do to mothef***ing get ready for it.”
“Ain’t no meditation. Ain’t no kumbaya. Ain’t no mama say, mama sa mama coosa.
It is a career-high payday.Stephen Espinoza on Tyron Woodley’s purse for fighting Jake Paul
“Ain’t s**t you can do. You getting your ass beat. I’m pumped up about it.”
Former Disney star Paul is currently 3-0 as a pro boxer having registered stoppage wins over AnEson Gib, Nate Robinson and Woodley’s good friend Ben Askren.
And The Problem Child has vowed to add Woodley’s name to his victim list in devastating fashion.
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match
He said: “Tyron’s a seasoned striker who has fought the best MMA fighters in the world but will be dropped by a Disney teen star in 2 rounds.”
“Maybe this time Dana White will actually be a man of his word and put his money on his former champion instead of trying to undermine my success like a jealous ex.
