Jake Paul slams Conor McGregor for ’embarrassing’ UFC loss to Dustin Poirier and labels rival ‘Big Bad Wolf’

VIRAL YouTuber turned professional Boxer Jake Paul has aimed yet another dig at Conor McGregor. The 24-year-old has been locked in a war of words with The Notorious for months now, and has previously called out the Irishman in a bid to secure a fight against him.

But after McGregor snapped his left tibia and fibula in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier last month, losing via a first-round doctor stoppage, a fight between the pair is not on the cards any time soon.
The Irishman is expected to be out of the ring for up to a year after suffering the horror injury.
That hasn’t stopped Paul from continuing his back-and-forth with McGregor though, with the American telling Mirror Fighting: “It’s embarrassing.
“The big bad wolf is tumbling down and it’s almost sad to see.
“He became such a huge superstar and it’s all slipping down beneath him right now.”
Those comments come despite Paul claiming back in May that he and McGregor could rake in £72m from a potential fight by selling 3 million PPV’s.

The 24-year old is set to face the toughest fight of his short Boxing career later this month, as he takes on former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley on August 29.
Paul has fought just three times as a professional so far, with knockout wins against YouTuber AnEsonGib, basketball player Nate Robinson and former UFC champion Ben Askren to his name.
And he has the backing of fellow YouTuber turned Boxer KSI to make it four wins from four against Woodley.
He said on YouTube: “I think Jake Paul’s gonna win. Because every time I’ve said Jake Paul’s gonna lose, he wins.”
Should Paul defeat the 39-year-old UFC legend, he has some of the biggest names in fighting in his sights.
He revealed 13-man boxing ‘hit-list’ on Instagram this month which includes Conor McGregor himself, Tommy Fury and even his own brother Logan Paul.
Speaking to SunSport days before uploading the post, Paul revealed the list grows after each fight, and has some unnamed rivals yet to be included.
He said: “It sort of changes and moulds as I go fight by fight.
    Jake Paul’s boxing ‘hit-list’
“But I guess, Canelo Alvarez, Kamaru Usman, Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, you know, KSI will always be on that list, be who knows what will happen there.
“Tommy Fury’s on that list, I feel like I’m forgetting names but there’s some fighters I’m thinking of right now that I don’t even want to mention as it’s not worth giving them the clout to.
“I think after this fight, I’m going to go back to the drawing board and re-up the list and actually write it down, that’s a good idea.”

Jake Paul says bitter feud with KSI is ‘over’ but admits he wants to ‘pummel’ rival Youtuber’s ‘face ‘into the canvas’

JAKE PAUL insists his feud with KSI is over, but that doesn’t mean he’s against the idea of pummeling his fellow YouTuber. The pair, 24 and 28 respectively, almost came to blows in January 2020 following Paul’s first-round demolition of AnEson Gib.

A fired-up Paul immediately told KSI ‘let’s make it happen’ but a fight between the social media sensations has so far yet to materialise.
Paul doesn’t foresee himself sharing the ring with KSI, real name Olijade Olatunji, telling The Daily Mirror: “I think it’s over. I don’t see it happening.
“However, I will take that fight and do it wherever or whenever and I would love nothing more than to pummel his face into the canvas.
“I think he knows the level that I’ve got to and he won’t ever be able to even come close to beating me.
“So he’d basically be signing up to lose.”
KSI, of course, twice shared the ring with Paul’s older brother Logan, fighting The Maverick to a draw in their first encounter and winning a hotly-contested split decision in the second.

Paul recently called out both KSI and his brother after seeing the pair being pally in an Instagram photo.
He wrote: “A picture of 2 guys who don’t want to fight me.”
Paul is currently gearing up for a showdown with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, whom he’ll face a week on Monday in his home state of Ohio.
The Problem Child has gone 3-0 as a pro thanks to first-round stoppages of Gib, Nate Robinson and former UFC star Ben Askren.
I don’t see it happeningJake Paul on a potential fight with KSI
And he’s predicting another early night at the office when he shares the ring with The Chosen One.
When asked to predict the outcome of his fourth professional bout, Paul told Sky Sports: “Before this camp, I said three [rounds] and now I’m thinking max two.
But to be honest, something in my heart tells me it’s going to be another one round fight As crazy as that sounds, I think it’s going to be a very very short night for Tyron.
“Let’s hope Tyron is very very prepared and is a lot better than I expected.

“Because then the fight will go into the later rounds where I am actually a better fighter.
“In sparring, the first couple rounds I’m usually getting warmed up and I come alive in the back half of a fight.
“I haven’t even got to warm up in a fight yet and I haven’t been hit in a fight yet.”

Anthony Joshua shows off bulging biceps as he ‘unlocks the knots’ in training ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA looks like he’s ready to fight Oleksandr Usyk right now after showing off his ridiculous biceps in his latest training video. The British heavyweight champion, 31, is preparing for his massive clash with the Ukrainian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next month.
Anthony Joshua showed off his bulging biceps as he went through his post-workout warm-down routine
Anthony Joshua used a ‘massage gun’ to help his aching muscles recover
And Joshua looks in superb shape as he gears up for the fight with a view to taking on Tyson Fury in an all-British unification fight in the future.
AJ was meant to fight the Gypsy King, 33, this summer but the fight was called off after Fury was forced to take on Deontay Wilder in the third and final fight of their trilogy.
But Joshua has maintained his focus and appears in good nick as he readies himself for a monster fight in North London against Usyk.
The Brit ace uploaded a pair of pictures on his Instagram sharing his post-workout warm-down routine – using a £225 ‘massage gun’ from Pulse Roll.
AJ captioned the snaps: “Unlock the knots @pulseroll”.
The massage gun is scientifically proven to aid muscle recovery and can help reduce soreness the next day while also increasing blood flow, helping to flush painful lactic acid away.

But Joshua will not have it all his own way at Tottenham’s stadium in September, with Usyk looking in phenomenal shape himself.
The 34-year-old will embark on only his third fight at heavyweight as he meets WBO, WBA and IBF king Joshua on September 25.
Usyk unified the cruiserweight division, and decided to step up into the land of the giants.
Some critics claim the Ukrainian will be ‘too small’ to become a world champion.
But judging by his latest training photos, skinhead Usyk should hold no fear on his big night under the Tottenham Stadium lights.
Earlier this week, Joshua shared the heart-pumping trailer for his upcoming fight.
And fellow Brit David Haye reckons AJ will be able to overpower his opponent using his jab thanks to his fearsome size.
Usyk doesn’t look too shabby either

Haye said: “AJ is 6ft 6in and an absolute specimen. He’s one of the best athletes ever in the heavyweight division.
“That just spells knockout defeat for Usyk.
“I just don’t see AJ having any problems.
“I’ll tell you exactly what punch it’s going to be – a jab, right hand and then a straight jab again.
“The jab will knock out Usyk. He will knock Usyk out with a jab.”

Pacquiao, an eight-weight world champion, had no problem naming his Mount Rushmore and listed several all-time greats.
The 42-year-old told Fox Sports: “Roy Jones Jr, Julio Cesar Chavez and Muhammad Ali. And I will include, I think, Sugar Ray Leonard.”
Pacquiao’s omission of the undefeated Mayweather surprised many given his loss to the American.
The pride of the Philippines suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Money in May 2015 in a bout that was billed as The Fight of the Century.
The pair have been engaged in a war of words ever since their Las Vegas showdown, with Pacquiao recently slamming Mayweather for his exhibition bout with YouTube star Logan Paul.
Prior to the cancellation of his clash with Errol Spence Jr, Pacman said of his old rival: “He’s fighting with a YouTuber just to earn money.

Pacquiao’s clash with Ugas came about following an injury to Spence Jr, who was discovered to have a detached retina during pre-fight medical examinations.
The Kibawe killer is refusing to underestimate his short-notice opponent but is eyeing a 40th professional knockout in Sin City.
He said: “I feel young right now. I’m just happy with what I’m doing, because boxing is my passion.
“I enjoy training camp and I’m excited to sacrifice and be disciplined every day to prepare for a fight like this.
“For the Keith Thurman fight I would do about 25 rounds a day, and now for this fight I’m doing 30 or more rounds a day.

“The coaches have had to try to stop me because I want to keep going.
“If there’s a chance for a knockout, then I’ll go for it because that’s what I want to give to the fans.
“I’m not underestimating Ugas though. He has a lot of experience in boxing and fought in the Olympics. I know I have to be very good to win this fight.”

But like many others, he defected from his nation – where turning professional is prohibited – to chase his world title dreams.
He has since signed with Warriors Boxing and started his career in the paid ranks with five victories, three by knockout.
In the amateurs, he recorded wins over Cuban legend Erislandy Savon, who won bronze at the 2016 Olympics, and current heavyweight contender Frank Sanchez.
According to BoxRec, his record before turning pro was 90-17, with bouts against Filip Hrgovic, Cam F Awesome and Oleksandr Usyk to name a few.
He also lost against Britain’s Frazier Clarke – a recent bronze medalist in Tokyo – in the hybrid World Boxing Series tournament.
Since turning pro in 2019, so far southpaw Pero has boxed only in Germany, Argentina and Colombia.

But he knows to make it in the big time, he must make the same move Canelo Alvarez’s training partner Sanchez did, and travel Stateside.
Pero, 28, said, via World Boxing News: “My career is about to take another turn in the right direction.
“Everyone knows that you must fight in America if you want to make it in boxing.
“I’ve made a lot of sacrifices, leaving family and friends back home, but this is what I’ve chosen to do.
“When I arrive in the States, I’m going to work extra hard to be the best version of myself. I’m excited about the next journey of my life.”

Jake Paul says ‘old guy’ Floyd Mayweather knows he and Logan are ‘not to be messed with’ as he rules out exhibition

Jake caused havoc a month before Mayweather faced Logan, stealing his hat and sparking a mass brawl.
Mayweather then offered Jake an official fight on their records, but warned it would have to be at 154-pounds, over TWO STONE his usual weight.
Jake was then ringside as his brother took the unbeaten American great all eight rounds in their pay-per-view spectacle, technically avoiding defeat.
And he told USA Today: “He, I think realised with fighting my brother, that we’re not to be messed with.
“He said he would only fight me if I cut down to 154 pounds, which is physically impossible, and he don’t want that smoke, man.
“If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen, but right now my focus is doing real, professional fights.
    Jake Paul entered elite company

“I’m not trying to do any exhibitions. So if he wants to do a real pro fight at a real weight, I’m down.
“But I don’t want to do money fights with an old guy, he needs me more than I need him.’’
Jake is 3-0 in his boxing record and fights ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, next on August 29.
Mayweather, 44, has been training Woodley alongside his current coach Gerald Tucker.

His other three wins, all by knockout, came against KSI’s friend ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC fighter Ben Askren, 37.
British social media sensation and rapper KSI – real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji – has predicted Paul would lose in all of them.
But now, he has changed his tune and tipped the American to beat Woodley.
He said on YouTube: “I think Jake Paul’s gonna win. Because every time I’ve said Jake Paul’s gonna lose, he wins.
“Same thing happens with crypto. I go, I’m feeling bullish, and then it tanks. Jake Paul’s gonna win. He’s gonna absolutely destroy Tyron Woodley.
“Do you think I want him to win? I haven’t wanted him to win for years, and he keeps winning, so at this point it’s like, alright, calm.
“Do your thing, innit? Do your thing, you’re in your element. You’re in your moment.”
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

Paul, 24, recently put KSI, 28, on his 13-man boxing ‘hit-list’ which he first revealed to SunSport.
He has rivalled the Londoner ever since beating his brother ‘Deji’ in a 2018 exhibition.
That night, KSI drew with Jake’s older brother Logan, 26, but won the rematch a year later when they turned pro.
It set him up to face Paul, but amid the coronavirus pandemic it failed to materialise.
KSI has vowed to return to the ring and wants to fight YouTuber Austin McBroom, 29, in a warm up for Paul.

Errol Spence Jr’s eye surgery could cost him ONE YEAR of career – throwing plans for Manny Pacquiao fight into doubt

ERROL SPENCE JR could be out for ONE YEAR after having eye surgery – potentially compromising a fight with Manny Pacquiao. The WBC and IBF welterweight champion was set to fight boxing legend Pacquiao on Saturday in Las Vegas.

But he was forced to withdraw after sustaining a retina tear in sparring, with Cuban Yordenis Ugas replacing Spence.
The unbeaten American went under the knife and vowed to bounce back.
But Dr Michael Davis, who performed retinal tear surgery on boxer Abner Mares, told The Athletic recovery can take from six to 12 months.
It leaves a rescheduled fight with Pacquiao in January now up in the air.
PacMan is set to challenge for Ugas’ WBA title but refused to reveal whether it would be his last before retiring.
But in a sign the Filipino icon could continue, he admitted to targeting both Spence, 31, and Terence Crawford, 33, who has the WBO belt.

Pacquiao, 42, said: “I don’t know if this is going to be my last, we are going to see fight by fight.
“But if I have the possibility of making one more fight, then I would like to face the best—either Terence Crawford or Errol Spence.”
Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is still hoping his star pupil can fight Spence after facing late sub Ugas, 35.
Roach told Fighthub: “It was two of the best fighters going against each other, and boxing needs more of that.
“It’s disappointing that it went the other way, but there’s nothing we can do about it.
“Is he [Spence] faking his detached retina? I don’t think so. That sounds ridiculous, but we’re here, and we’re ready.
If I have the possibility of making one more fight, then I would like to face the best—either Terence Crawford or Errol SpenceManny Pacquiao on his future
“That’s definitely a possibility, but we’re fighting one fight at a time, and we’re not going to decide until after the fight.
“It could be Spence if he’s ready to go, but if he’s not ready to go, we might have to pick [somebody else].
“There’s a couple of other guys out there that we can pick from. It would have been a good fight, but I liked Manny in it.
“We had a good strategy going into that fight, and we have a good strategy going into this fight.
“There are certain things you have to do, and they’re not exactly the same, the two fighters.
“I think Spence is the better boxer [than Ugas], but the thing is, he’s not unbeatable, though.”
