UFC legend Vitor Belfort says ‘I’d put a beating’ on Jake and Logan Paul on ‘SAME NIGHT’ ahead of Oscar De La Hoya fight

VITOR BELFORT said ‘I’d put a beating’ on brothers Jake and Logan Paul on the ‘SAME NIGHT’ if given the chance. The YouTubers have both forged out unprecedented prizefighting careers, recently becoming two of the most polarising figures in the sport.

Older brother Logan, 26, is officially 0-1, losing to online rival KSI in 2019 after they drew in a white collar bout in 2018.
But he scored a massive moral victory in June, taking boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, the distance in their exhibition bout.
Jake, 24, meanwhile is 3-0, all by KO, having beaten YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.
He faces Tyron Woodley, 39, in his fourth and toughest fight to date on August 29.
Woodley has the backing of fellow former UFC champion Belfort, 44, who fancies a crack at Jake and Logan back-to-back.
He told SunSport: “I hope Tyron Woodley does good, but that kid Jake is doing good business, he’s getting good traction, I respect that.
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

“I’d fight him and his brother in the same night, I’d put a beating on him and his brother in the same night, there’s no doubt about it.”
Belfort, having not fought in MMA since 2018, is now in the business of spectacle bouts himself.
The American-based Brazilian, 1-0 as a boxer after his 2006 debut, faces six-weight boxing champ Oscar De La Hoya, 48, on September 11.
It will mark De La Hoya’s comeback after 13 years out of the ring, when Manny Pacquiao, 42, battered him into submission.
Belfort hopes to one day merge the rules of boxing and MMA into a unified sport, but for now will settle for a super-fight in the sweet science.
I’d fight him and his brother in the same night, I’d put a beating on him and his brother in the same night, there’s no doubt about it.Vitor Belfort on Jake and Logan Paul
He said: “The future of combat sports in the merge between these two amazing combat sports.
“Right now, we are boxing under boxing rules, and I accept it. But in the future, I want to mix boxing with the martial arts aspect.
“But until that gets done, I’m the guy with the fastest hands and most knockouts in UFC and MMA history.
“So fighting the best boxers of all time, Oscar De La Hoya, it’s a legendary fight, a generational fight and it’s going to be epic.
“This is once in a lifetime.”

Manny Pacquiao’s trainer admits ‘I’m a little bit worried’ about legend fighting again and says ‘this could be it’

MANNY PACQUIAO’S trainer Freddie Roach admits he is ‘a little bit worried’ about the legend fighting again after his loss to Yordenis Ugas. The Filipino, 42, suffered a unanimous decision defeat to the WBA welterweight champion in front of a packed crowd at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.

The eight-weight world title holder admitted afterwards he is thinking about calling it a day.
He said: “In the future, you may not see Manny Pacquiao fight again in the ring.
“I don’t know. But for how many decades, I’m so happy with what I’ve done in boxing.
“I contribute a record in boxing also and to make boxing the top.
“And especially bring honour to my country and the Filipino people.
“I’m so proud to be a Filipino and thankful to all the fans all over the world.”

Now his long-time trainer Roach has also cast doubt on whether we will see Pac-Man battle between the ropes again.
Speaking in his post-fight interview, he said: “I hate to see the day he retires, but this could be it.
“He didn’t have a great performance tonight. We’ll see what Manny decides.
“Manny had trouble reaching Ugas. Manny was not able to solve Ugas’ height and reach advantage.”

And Roach, who has worked with the superstar before and during his rise to the top, admitted age may have caught up with the star – who has lost two of his last five fights.
He added: “I’m a little worried about it, yes.
“He’s boxed for a long time, and he’s boxed with me for a long time.”

Anthony Joshua believes he has God in his corner as he prepares for massive showdown against undefeated Oleksandr Usyk

And the Watford superstar dropped to his knee for a moment of prayer on a recent trip to the North London ground.
On social media, the father-of-one captioned the powerful image with a passage from the King James bible, Mark 8:36.
It read: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.”
British fight fans will be forgiven for thinking AJ was throwing his support behind the Premier League footballers who continue to take a knee before matches to support the fight against racism.
But SunSport understands it was a private and personal moment of reflection between the 6ft 6in powerhouse and the man upstairs.
Though there is a suggestion he will make the stance next month to support the campaign.

Asked last month, Joshua said: “Yeah, 100 per cent I would. 100 per cent. I would take a knee anyway.”
Meanwhile, Johnny Nelson reckons AJ is in for a ‘rough ride’ when he faces Usyk.
Nelson told Sky Sports: “I’ve always been a massive fan of Anthony Joshua, it’s never been hidden.
“I’m a fan of Oleksandr Uysk because at cruiserweight I said, ‘This guy is the heir apparent. I could see him stepping up to heavyweight and making a massive impression like Evander Holyfield back in the day.’
“[But he’s a] different style of fighter. But then I saw his introduction to the heavyweight division and I was underwhelmed. And he’s a good fighter, excellent pedigree.
“Better pedigree than Anthony Joshua as an amateur at least. I think Anthony Joshua will be far too big, far too strong, far too sharp and far too aggressive.
“And Usyk’s gotta depend on his unorthodox style to try and befuddle Anthony Joshua to get through that fight.

“It’s not an easy fight. So if anybody tries to say this is a done deal, this is not a done deal. This is a tough fight for Anthony Joshua.
“So Anthony Joshua needs to make sure he has his white about him, does not underestimate this guy just because he’s a small opponent.
“But he needs to stamp his authority as a big strong, fast, athletic heavyweight champion. In doing that, I expect him to get the win. But it’s going to be a rough ride.”

Anthony Taylor: “I think it’s a disrespect to the sport, in my eyes and to many people’s eyes that understand boxing.

“I can see if you fought those type of opponents with those records, then people can say, ‘OK, you’re actually not bad’.
“You don’t see a Ryan Garcia fighting guys on his debut with 0 wins and 26 losses. We don’t see Ryan Garcia fight a guy that’s, OK four wins eight losses.

Tyson, one of the most celebrated punchers of all time, has taken a liking to the YouTuber.
He even had him on his undercard in November when Paul knocked out ex-NBA star Nate Robinson.
And Tyson, 55, has predicted Woodley, 39, will suffer a similar fate and enjoy a cash out while doing so.
He said on his podcast: “I’m proud of them. Are they gonna fight? He’s fighting an experienced fighter. That’s so cool.
“I don’t know. Paul’s a real good striker, and I think people do him a disservice when they go in there and say, ‘He’s blonde-haired and blue-eyed, he’s a white b***’, and I think that also builds their courage up and causes them to get knocked out.
“Jake’s gonna beat him. Woodley’s not a puncher like that, that’s why he wants to fight this guy, to get his last payday probably.”
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match

Paul, 24, knocked out online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ before doing the same against Robinson, 37.
Most recently he beat retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren – a friend and training partner of Woodley’s – in his last fight in April.
Paul has not been taken past round two, and fans even accused his KO against Askren of being ‘rigged’.
It left the American social media sensation pleading with Woodley to go ‘a couple rounds’ in their fight.
“Jake’s gonna beat him. Woodley’s not a puncher like that, that’s why he wants to fight this guy, to get his last payday probably.Mike Tyson on Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley
Paul told SunSport: “I’ve said it, I wouldn’t mind going a couple rounds with this guy.
“To show my inside fighting, to show my work to the body, to show how I set shots up, to show my head movement, defence.
“To show that I can take a hit. I haven’t been able to show any of this, so I really wouldn’t mind it going a couple of rounds because then I think the boxing community will be like, ‘Oh, damn this kid can actually fight’.
“Even in the last fight, I knocked Ben Askren out, people were like, ‘There’s no way this is possible, it’s rigged’.

Deontay Wilder will be handed ‘exactly the same’ defeat by Tyson Fury if he doesn’t ‘fix’ errors, says Johnny Nelson

DEONTAY WILDER has been warned he won’t win his trilogy fight with Tyson Fury if he doesn’t ‘accept’ his defeat to the Gypsy King. The American’s reign as WBC heavyweight champ came to a sensational end at the hands of the Wythenshawe warrior last February.

Wilder, 35, has come up with several excuses for his first professional loss and even accused his former cornerman of spiking his water.
And former WBO cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson believes The Bronze Bomber will be smashed by Fury again if he doesn’t acknowledge the Brit was the better man in their Sin City rematch.
When asked to predict the outcome of the fight, Nelson told Sky Sports: “If you by form, you expect Tyson Fury to do a better job than he did the last time.
“If you by what’s happening lifestyle-wise outside of the ring – and one fighter that’s had to sit there and simmer, be furious.
“And when you talk about sleeping lions as in Wilder, he’s made at things that have happened. And he still can’t accept the defeat. That’s his problem.
“He needs to understand why it happened and fix what happened and not blame everybody else, which he has been doing.

“And until he does that, the result will be exactly the same.”
Nelson is refusing to completely rule out Wilder’s chances of levelling his series with Fury, who he reckons may have embraced his newfound fame a little too much.
He added: ‘Tyson Fury’s life has changed. This guy has turned into a massive celebrity.
“And so, with him being a celebrity, has been distracted by that celebrity lifestyle?
“Has not trained as what he would do and what he would’ve like he did the first two fights against Wilder?
“I hope he has. Now he’s come back to the fold, he just wants to fight.
He needs to understand why it happened and fix what happened and not blame everybody elseJohnny Nelson on Deontay Wilder’s trilogy fight with Tyson Fury
“I expect the results to be the same, but do not be surprised if Wilder – who is probably the biggest puncher I’ve seen live – catches Tyson Fury.
“Because if he can catch him, he gets gone. But the thing is Tyson Fury can box, he can move. He’s the smartest cookie in the room.
“If you’re a one-trick where you can bang and knock people out, you just need that one shot.
“But Tyson Fury has got a lot to his repertoire.”
Wilder has enlisted the help of former foe Malik Scott in a bid to settle the score with Fury, who he plans to take out in devastating fashion.
He said: “My mind is very violent. ‘We built a whole facility to commit a legal homicide and that’s just what it is, my mind is very violent at this time.

“I can’t wait, when you’re contemplating and pre-meditating about harming a man and you see that person, what you’ve been thinking and feeling will come out.
“The only thing about it is, at that point in time, I have to wait until I get in the ring to really release because I can’t do it on the outside, it’d defeat the purpose.
“The baby’s got to eat, but when I do get in the ring, this is what I love about it, I’m able to release everything I’ve been feeling, everything I’ve been thinking, and get paid to do it.”
