The pair were involved in a heated back-and-forth in the dressing room that left Woodley fuming.
And their subsequent slanging match on social media has teed up the interesting grudge match, which, on paper, is the toughest fight of Paul’s young boxing career.

Woodley said of his clash with the social media star: “Easiest fight of my career and biggest purse of my career all in one night.

Tommy Fury’s record of opponents ’embarrassing’ compared to Jake Paul’s, says Love Island’s star’s rival Anthony Taylor

JAKE PAUL can knock out Tommy Fury in three rounds due to the Brit’s lack of ‘experience’, Anthony Taylor has claimed. The former MMA fighter, 32, will face Fury, 22, in Ohio on the weekend as part of the undercard before Paul fights Tyron Woodley.

Taylor has backed Jake Paul to down the Brit, were they to meet in the ring
It will be the fourth pro boxing fight for Paul, following victories over ex-UFC star Ben Askren, basketballer Nate Robinson, and YouTuber AnEsonGib.
Despite the lack of recognised ring names on that list, Taylor is convinced that Fury’s former opponents would be ‘steamrolled’ by Paul’s old rivals.
Among the Love Island star’s previous challengers are Jordan Grant, who had fought twice professionally before a four-round defeat, and 0-16 veteran Scott Williams.
Taylor told Betway: “A lot of people are expecting, if Jake wins this fight, they’d like to see a Tommy Fury v Jake Paul fight.
“That can be interesting too depending on how the Tyron fight goes and my fight goes.
“Tommy Fury versus Jake Paul, that’s a good fight. When you compare Tommy’s fights to Jake’s fights, Tommy’s fights are embarrassing.

“Then look at the fights Jake fought, I’m pretty sure the guys that Jake beat would beat the guys Tommy beat.
“I guarantee Ben Askren steamrolls Tommy Fury’s opponents. I kid you not. Jake absolutely beats Tommy Fury.
“Tommy is wild. I think Jake TKO’s Tommy in the third round. Tommy does not have the experience, without Tyson Fury he’s just a pretty Brit – a regular guy they are building up.
“I don’t think Tommy has the skills to beat Jake. Jake has better skillsets than Tommy.
“These guys probably started boxing at the same time, because Tommy wasn’t on the amateur circuit. He only really got into it after he met his girl Molly off Love Island.
“These two coming into boxing at the same time, you definitely got to look at who has had the tougher opponents. Tommy fought a guy with 10 wins and 126 losses – Jake would never fight a guy like that.”

Taylor sparred with Paul, 24, for two months ahead of the imminent Woodley fight.
The American even claimed to have earned more for training with the online star than he did fighting in MMA for several years.
And he is confident that the can beat Fury, following the exit of father John from his training camp.
Taylor continued: “I’m going to test his chin for the first time and I’m going to shock the world.
“He has nothing I haven’t seen before. He’s going in the second round by TKO. He’ll regret overlooking me.
“I’m working hard, I’m hungry. He’s not that skilled. I want what he has; the money, the status, everything.

“I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If I lose then it’s just an MMA fighter losing to a boxer. But if I win this fight, I’m a megastar.
“He’s young, he’s 22 years old, of course it’s going to affect him not having his dad there. Your comfort zone is your father. If you’re in trouble your father should be able to protect you.
“His father won’t be there, so he’ll be out of his comfort zone and I’m going to expose him.”

Jake Paul shuts down fighting Conor McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis but could ‘handle that one in the streets’

JAKE PAUL shut down fighting Conor McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis but said he could ‘handle that one in the streets’. The YouTuber has long feuded Danis and they even clashed in Los Angeles after Paul launched water balloons at him in December.

Paul did offer Conor McGregor’s training partner a fight in March, but the Bellator welterweight was injured with an ongoing knee problem.
The social media sensation has since appeared to move on from the rivalry, but warned it could be settled outside of the ring.
Paul, 24, said on the Last Stand Podcast: “I think it could happen, but again, it’s like he’s not a striker.
“So you know after I beat Tyron, it’s like ‘wow he just knocked out a five-time UFC champion who has knockout power’.
“‘Now he’s going up against some Jiu-Jitsu guy who isn’t a striker’, like it’s a hard sell for that fight. I think I’m going to handle that one in the streets.”
Danis, 28, hit back on Twitter: “I’ll put any about of money I dance on his head in any kind of fight this bitch is all talk.”

Paul is 3-0 in his career, all by knockout with wins over YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.
The KO against Askren in April followed after Danis was unable to accept the fight after getting injury.
Paul returns to the ring against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, on August 29 in his fourth and most challenging fight to date.
And he claimed he is on course to become the biggest attraction in the sport, putting him alongside boxing royalty.
Paul said: “I am on a trajectory to become the biggest prizefighter in the world.
    Jake Paul’s boxing ‘hit-list’
“I think that’s so special and people don’t get to follow that journey very often. As it stands, for the kids, I look like Mike Tyson.
“Your grandpa had Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, your dad had Floyd Mayweather, this generation has Jake Paul.
“If they wanna see a highlight reel knockout, they wanna be a part of the viral conversation – so far, that’s what I’ve delivered.”

Manny Pacquiao to be given ‘Champion for Life’ belt by WBA despite being STRIPPED of title before Yordenis Ugas loss

MANNY PACQUIAO is set to be given a ‘Champion for Life’ belt by the WBA despite being STRIPPED of his title before losing to Yordenis Ugas. Pacquiao in July 2019 became the WBA’s welterweight champion after beating Keith Thurman.

But amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Filipino icon was sidelined and unable to return.
It controversially saw him lose his WBA belt due to inactivity, with Ugas being elevated from secondary ‘Regular’ champion to the full version.
PacMan, 42, was then due to challenge Errol Spence Jr, 31, for the WBC and IBF unified titles.
But the unbeaten American pulled out with an eye injury and Ugas, 35, already set to feature on the undercard, replaced Spence on 11 days notice.
It gave Pacquiao the chance to win back the belt that he never actually lost in the ring.
But according to Rappler, WBA president Gilberto Mendoza said the boxing legend would be honoured as ‘Champion for Life’ regardless of the result.

Unfortunately for Pacquiao, he was beaten over 12 rounds and left hinting at retirement afterwards.
At the post-fight press conference, he said: “In the future, you might not see Manny Pacquiao again fight in the ring.
“I don’t know. But, for how many decades, I’m happy with what I’ve done in boxing.
“I contributed a record and brought boxing to the top, and especially, brought honour to my country, the Filipino people.”

Tommy Fury reveals unknown story of how British boxing legend Ricky Hatton was to thank for his Love Island stint

TOMMY FURY has revealed how British boxing legend Ricky Hatton unintentionally set up his stint on Love Island. Fury was set to make his professional debut in late 2018 when his-then trainer Hatton commented on the light-heavyweight’s good looks.

And a remark about looking like a star of hit reality TV show Love Island soon got ITV bosses interested in the younger brother of world champ Tyson.
Fury, 22, told BT Sport: “One day it was coming up to my professional debut at Ricky Hatton’s gym and Ricky did an interview saying, ‘He doesn’t look like Hughie or Tyson, he looks like he’s just come off Love Island’.
“And at the time I didn’t know what that was, as I’d never watched Love Island at all, I didn’t know what it was.
“And then a week or two later I got a call after training, they called the office at the gym, and they come in the changing room and said, ‘ITV are on the phone, they want to speak to you’.
“I was like, ‘OK, bit odd’. So I got on the phone and they were like, ‘Oh, hi Tommy, blah, blah, blah, anyway, we’d love to have you on board for the 2019 series of Love Island if you’d like to’.
“I was like, ‘That’s very nice, thank you’ – because I thought it was some game show or something like that.

“I said, ‘That’s very nice, thank you very much but I’ve got my professional fight debut coming up, I’ve got fights coming up, thank you very much but no thanks’.”
Despite initially passing up on the opportunity to focus on his boxing career, as luck would have it fights were falling through.
It opened up a gap for Fury to put his career in the ring on hold, and make the decision to accept Love Island’s offer.
He said: “Cut a long story short, after my debut my fights were pencilled in and they got cancelled, so then I turned round to Ricky and I was like, ‘Well, what am I going to do now? Keep training I guess.’
    ‘REST IS HISTORY’
“Right, well I could do that anywhere if I’ve got nothing coming up. So I called them back and I said, ‘What’s going on? What’s this actually about’.
“And they said, ‘OK, take a look at last season and give us a call back’. So, that’s exactly what I done, I watched it and thought, ‘Do you know what? Eight weeks in the sun, beautiful girls, getting a tan, I can’t go wrong’.
“I’ve got no fights coming up, so I did it and then I went down to London, couple of auctions and that was it, the rest is history.”
Fury, 2-0 at the time, later came runner-up with now girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague and the pair have become huge stars since leaving the villa.

The unbeaten boxer has recently moved to 6-0 in his career and his time on the small screen helped him make a name for himself away from Tyson.
Fury returns to the ring on August 29, against MMA fighter Anthony Taylor, 32, on the undercard of YouTuber Jake Paul.
And a win for the Love Island alumni sets up a huge celebrity clash with American rival Paul, 24, who is 3-0 in his own boxing career.

Anthony Taylor says it’s ‘disturbing’ that sparring Jake Paul for two months paid better than his entire MMA career

ANTHONY TAYLOR said it is ‘disturbing’ that he got paid more for two months of sparring with Jake Paul than his did in his MMA career. The American is 7-5 in MMA and fought five times for Bellator, the UFC’s closest rivals.

But he has made a name for himself more recently for acting as the sparring partner for YouTuber-turned boxer Paul.
He helped the social media star earlier in the year before beating retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37, in April.
And Taylor, 32, returned to Paul’s camp to help his friend prepare to fight ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, on August 29.
He revealed the money earned for the rounds of sparring was surprisingly more than anything he got in MMA.
Taylor told Betway Insider: “I had the opportunity to fight in Cage Warriors but I couldn’t pass up the money Jake was offering.
“I’m getting paid more money as Jake’s training partner in two months than I made in my whole entire MMA career in six years.

“I swear to god, I made more money with Jake in two months than my whole MMA career.
“That’s disturbing when you think about it, because I fought for Bellator. I’ve fought two top five contenders in Bellator and I had a good run.
“It’s time to take it up a notch and fight for the UFC.”
Paul, 24, has further afforded Tayor opportunities with a fight on his undercard.
The Bellator lightweight will face Britain’s Tommy Fury, 22, who is looking to earn a fight against Paul himself.
“I swear to god, I made more money with Jake in two months than my whole MMA career. That’s disturbing when you think about itAnthony Taylor
Taylor said: “I’m about to bloody him up. He’s going to be in a dog fight. He’s underestimating me, he’s looking over me.
“He thinks he is flying into Cleveland to win and then face off with Jake, but he ain’t even going to see Jake that night.
“When you compare Tommy’s fights to Jake’s fights, Tommy’s fights are embarrassing.
“Tommy fought a guy with 10 wins and 126 losses – Jake would never fight a guy like that.

Anthony Joshua reveals his tactics for Oleksandr Usyk fight and how he plans to ‘pin down’ rival as training ramps up

HEAVYWEIGHT Anthony Joshua has revealed his tactics for his world title clash with Oleksandr Usyk on September 25.The reigning WBA, IBF and WBO champ also thinks the undefeated Ukrainian will be his trickiest opponent to date.
Anthony Joshua is training hard ahead of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk
Usyk has never lost a professional fight and boasts an 18-0 record
Speaking to Sky Sports, AJ said Usyk will ‘100 per cent’ be the biggest challenge of his career before explaining his approach to the fight.
Joshua, 31, said: “Movement means you are never stationery to get hit. Movement is important.
“Concentration – when you want to [punch], you lock in, then make a move. You have to make sure your brain works.
“That can be mentally fatiguing so I am sharpening the mind so that I can concentrate for the 12 rounds.
“Also I practice having the ability to [punch] four times, not just once. Concentrate, take your time, pin him down.
“It’s a fight for the brain. Knowing what you’ve got in front of you and knowing how to deal with it.

“You can either be aggressive, corner [him], throw everything at it. Or take your time, be clever, then knock [him] out.”
Although Joshua has been tipped to retain his world titles, Usyk, 34, has never lost a professional fight and boasts an 18-0 record.
‘The Cat’ – as he’s known – became the first cruiserweight in history to hold all four major world belts before making the step up to heavyweight.
Usyk already has two huge British scalps on his CV, knocking out Tony Bellew in November 2018 and edging Derek Chisora in his last fight.
But AJ isn’t fazed by his opponent’s impressive record and has been working hard to get in the right shape for the fight.
The British star added: “I do look at my weight but I’m not trying to make weight because I’m a heavyweight.
You don’t want to leave it all in the gym. But as long as you train with purpose, you are going to learn.Anthony Joshua
“I tailor my training. I am getting a lot of experience, I’ve been fighting good fighters for a long time, I’ve studied them and learned about their training camps.
“I’ve learned how to condition my body for specific fights. I’m looking trim for this fight.
“I’m fighting a guy who is a 12-round fighter. So it would be silly of me to go in there bulky with my muscles screaming for oxygen.
“I’ve been training like a 15-round fighter in this camp. I will be well-conditioned to fight. That is key.
“What happens when I train that way? My body adapts and takes its natural form. This is the form it has taken.”

Deontay Wilder’s trainer predicts he will KO Tyson Fury in just FIVE ROUNDS in trilogy clash as he steps up training

DEONTAY WILDER will KO Tyson Fury within five rounds in their trilogy fight, according to the American’s trainer Malik Scott. The two heavyweights will step into the ring for a third time on October 9 in Las Vegas.

Wilder was battered from pillar to post by Fury in February 2020, and then came out with a whole host of wacky excuses for the loss.
Fourteen months earlier the pair drew on the judges scorecards – though many believe Fury was robbed.
But Wilder’s trainer and former boxer Scott is predicting big things from his man in the career-defining rematch.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 40 year old said: “This Deontay would knock out the old Deontay in two rounds. He is 10 times more focused, training 100 times harder.
“It is a violent camp. His mentality is very violent.
“This will be the best version of Deontay Wilder that you have ever seen.

“Deontay will knock Fury out inside of five rounds.”
Unsurprisingly Fury is not going along with this train of thought, guaranteeing that he will stop ‘one-trick pony’ Wilder quicker than he did last year.
That stoppage came in the seventh round. But Scott believes under-estimating Wilder this time round will come back to haunt the Gypsy King.
He added: “They underestimate his IQ. He is not some big, dumb guy who just throws a right hand.
“There is method to his madness.”
Wilder is also tipped to get his revenge by fellow heavyweight Chris Arreola.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
The 40 year old, who lost to Andy Ruiz Jr last time out, told Fight Hype: “Wilder has the most to prove, and Wilder has the bigger chip in his shoulder because Fury gave it to him.
“I’m taking Wilder; I’m honestly taking Wilder.
“By any means necessary. If it’s by knockout or disqualification, whatever it is. Wilder is winning that fight, man.”
