Jake Paul sparring undefeated boxers who admit they ‘didn’t know he was that good’, YouTuber’s training partner claims

JAKE PAUL is sparring undefeated boxers who have admitted ‘I didn’t know he was that good’, according to his training partner. Paul is 3-0 in his career, all by knockout, and faces ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley in his fourth and biggest fight to date over the weekend.

The YouTuber has been preparing for it in Puerto Rico with coach BJ Flores and called upon the help of MMA fighter Anthony Taylor for sparring.
Taylor claimed Paul is also sharing rounds with top-class boxers, of championship level, and supposedly leaving them stunned.
He told Betway Insider: “BJ likes Jake to spar with the best of the best.
“He’s bringing in boxers who are undefeated. He’s bringing Jean Pascal, boxers with 20 or 30 fights and he’s telling them, ‘Go to work’ and ‘don’t go easy on Jake ’ – that’s how we roll with TeamPaul.
“Jake’s just not fighting MMA fighters and beating them up. He’s fighting real boxers and he’s giving them a hard time.
“Because a lot of boxers come in here the first day and say, ‘He ain’t no fighter’ and then they spar him and then they say, ‘I didn’t know he was that good’.
    Jake Paul’s boxing ‘hit-list’

“Jake is more focused than anything. He knows Tyron is the toughest opponent to date and he’s locked in focused.
“He looks amazing, his dieting is on point, his cardio is on point and he’s getting better and polishing his skills.
“BJ ain’t bringing in no scrubs, he’s bringing in pro fighters. Plus he’s got J’Leon Love here who is always sparring Jake.

“Love’s a world level athlete and he’s not taking it easy on Jake. He’s going hard and I don’t see Tyron getting this type of work.”
Paul has beaten online rival ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37, in his career.
It has been a gradual increase in opposition and Taylor argued the development in performance has been evident.
A lot of boxers come in here the first day and say, ‘He ain’t no fighter’ and then they spar him and then they say, ‘I didn’t know he was that good’.Jake Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor
    He explained: “Jake has improved.
“You can see his improvements from his first fight with Gib through to Nate Robinson and Ben Askren, kind of cleaning up some of the sloppiness.
“He’s kind of like AJ McKee. The way that AJ shows something different every fight, he’s developing every fight.
“Jake’s improved every camp; he’s developing power, he’s developed speed in his punches, great footwork, inside boxing.
“He’s becoming a complete boxer in his world.
“I’m not saying he’s going to fight Canelo or he’s going to fight a top five boxer, but he looks great, prepared and ready to go.”

Manny Pacquiao considering snubbing retirement to rematch Yordenis Ugas, who he says was one of his ‘easiest opponents’

LEGENDARY boxer Manny Pacquiao is considering snubbing retirement to exact revenge on Yordenis Ugas.Pacquiao lost to defending WBA (Super) welterweight champ Ugas on August 21 by unanimous decision at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.
Ugas beat Pacquiao and retained his WBA (Super) welterweight titleCredit: GETTY IMAGES
Ugas wasn’t Pacquiao’s original scheduled opponent, Errol Spence Jr was, and the WBC and IBF unified titles were up for grabs.
But the unbeaten American pulled out with an eye injury and Ugas, 35, already set to feature on the undercard, replaced Spence on 11 days notice.
It gave Pacquiao the chance to win back the belt that he lost due to being sidelined and unable to return during the coronavirus pandemic.
And Ugas was elevated from secondary ‘Regular’ champion to the full version as a result of Pacquiao’s unfortunate absence.
PacMan lost the fight raising questions over his future status in the sport of boxing.
But despite losing, Pacquiao insist Ugas was one of his “easiest opponents” in his 72-fight career.
PacMan told The Athletic: “I’ll think about it because I can’t believe one of the easiest opponents I ever faced did that.”

The 42-year-old also stated that he should have been able to out outmanoeuvre Ugas due to his one-dimensional style.
But according to Pacquiao, his legs “stopped” working.
He added: “In my entire career, Ugas was one of the easiest opponents.

“He only had one style, and I should’ve been able to easily move away… You’ve seen how I have moved in my fights before.
“I couldn’t move in this fight. My legs just – stopped.”
Pacquiao’s latest comments could be hinting that he isn’t ready to hang up the gloves just yet.

Jake Paul changes Tyron Woodley fight prediction to first round KO and warns ex-UFC champ is in for ‘very short night’

JAKE PAUL believes he will knock Tyron Woodley out in the first round ahead of next week’s fight.Paul and Woodley are expected to lock horns this Monday at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

The YouTuber previously predicted that he will win inside three rounds but he now changed his tune and actually believes he will have his hand raised after a maximum of two.
Paul told Sky Sports: “Honestly after this camp, I said three [rounds] and now I’m thinking, max two.
“But to be honest, something in my heart tells me that it’s going to be another one-round fight.
“As crazy as that sounds. I think it’s going to be a very short night for Tyron.
“I’m just built different. I have something inside of me that I think is just a natural born fighter, with natural power.
“You can teach a lot of things, but you can’t teach speed and you can’t teach power. I think that’s why my fights have ended so early.

“When those 10oz Grant gloves come on, I just grip them back, and the knuckles are at the front of the gloves.
“There’s no way these people’s heads can deal with this damage.”
Woodley has crossed over to boxing after standing out in UFC where he became welterweight champion in 2016 and kept the title for two years.
The 39-year-old American will make his debut in the sport having not won an MMA fight for two years.

Deontay Wilder’s coach says heavyweight would KO ‘the old’ Bronze Bomber in two rounds after training ‘100 times harder’

DEONTAY WILDER is now ‘ten times’ more focused on beating Tyson Fury than in the heavyweight pair’s previous fights.A draw in 2018 was followed by a stunning victory for the Gypsy King last year, after which Wilder was mocked for coming up with excuses.
Malik Scott (right) has talked up Deontay Wilder’s chances in October’s title boutCredit: Instagram @malikkingscott
But Malik Scott, the Bronze Bomber’s trainer, has predicted a very different result when the two champs meet in Las Vegas on October 9.
Scott told Sky Sports: “Fury fights with his hands down, at times with his chin up, at times he comes forwards, at times he is close with his hands down.
“He has been knocked down by guys who hit less hard than Deontay. He is very vulnerable.
“I’ve never seen Fury fight and said: ‘Wow he is unbeatable’.
“On his best day he looks good but still looks beatable.
“This Deontay would knock out the old Deontay in two rounds. He is 10 times more focused, training 100 times harder.

“It is a violent camp. His mentality is very violent. This will be the best version of Deontay Wilder that you have ever seen.”
Scott is not the first boxing figure to predict that Fury, 33, may find things more difficult in the trilogy clash.
David Haye has stated his concerns over the Brit’s chin and Chris Arreola is tipping the 35-year-old for the win.
But Johnny Nelson believes Wilder has more work to do to ensure he does not meet the same seven-round, TKO fate as their last meeting.
In Scott’s eyes, a number of pundits and fighters do not properly value Wilder’s intelligence in the ring.
He added: “They underestimate his IQ.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
“He is not some big, dumb guy who just throws a right hand. There is method to his madness.
“Deontay’s IQ is very high. I watch him create, watch him put himself in position, set guys up into surgical traps.
“Deontay will knock Fury out inside of five rounds.”

Jake Paul’s sparring partner says Conor McGregor fight ‘would be competitive’ as YouTuber has THREE STONE advantage

JAKE PAUL fighting Conor McGregor ‘would be competitive’ as the YouTuber has a near THREE STONE advantage, his sparring partner said. Paul has continued to target a boxing match with McGregor, who was beaten on his ring debut against Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

Ex-UFC champion Conor McGregor campaigns at lightweight
The social media sensation is currently 3-0, all by knockout, and faces his biggest challenge to date in ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, next.
They are set to fight at 190lb, or 13st 5lb and McGregor is naturally an 11st contender in the UFC’s lightweight division.
Anthony Taylor, Paul’s chief sparing partner, revealed the cruiserweight boxer naturally weighs 15st 3lb.
That compared to the 12st 8lb he predicts McGregor walks around at gives the Irishman almost a three stone disadvantage.
Taylor, 32, told Betway Insider: “You got to understand, we’re not dealing with exhibitions.
“We’re talking about professional boxing matches licensed by the commission with an agreement on the weight class.
    Jake Paul’s boxing ‘hit-list’

“Jake walks around about 215lbs, Conor walks around at 180lbs, he’d have to go up to 190lbs.
“I think Jake would drop down to 190lbs for Conor – he’s fighting Tyron at 190lbs.
“That fight is tricky because Conor is a lefty but Jake has more body mass, more range.
“You’re dealing with a guy that’s heavy. It would be competitive.”
McGregor has flirted with a return to the ring, last year entering negotiations with Manny Pacquiao.
But after he was knocked out in January by Dustin Poirier – the man he initially beat in 2014 – talks with Pacquiao, 42, collapsed.
McGregor, 33, then lost his trilogy bout with Poirier, 32, after suffering a horror leg break seconds before the first round ended.
Conor is a lefty but Jake has more body mass, more range. You’re dealing with a guy that’s heavy. It would be competitive.Jake Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor
He has since undergone surgery and is already training but will need to complete his six-month medical suspension.
Meanwhile Paul, who has wins over online rival ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37, returns to the ring on the weekend.
Bellator lightweight Taylor has been sparring the American in prepration for the fight against Woodley.
And he opened up about the secret sparring sessions, which have taken place in Puerto Rico.
Taylor revealed: “When you put a guy like Jake in the boxing ring with a guy like Tyron, Jake’s going to win that all day, just because he’s been working on the repetition and the mechanics of boxing.
“Tyron technically has a punchers chance but Jake is a better boxer.
“Tyron is a better fighter because of his MMA background, but Jake is a better boxer.
“There’s a lot of people that think Tyron is going to knock out Jake. But I see it the other way around. He’s looking great.”

But the YouTube star has been training for the fight just under 2,000 miles away in the boxing nation of Puerto Rico.
And video shared by BT Sport captured Paul drilling padwork with his trainer BJ Flores and hitting heavy bags.
Paul is 3-0, all by knockout with wins over YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.
And he returns to the ring against Woodley, 39, in his fourth and most challenging fight to date.
It will mark the ex-UFC champion’s boxing debut, and he has been training with American legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, to prepare.
And Mayweather’s current coach Gerald Tucker has been one of Woodley’s main trainers during their camp.

The two were filmed hitting the pads together working on speed and combinations.
Paul previously criticised Woodley for choosing to train with Mayweather and claimed it would work in his favour.

“Him hopping around with different coaches, trying to learn different styles, that’s not how you progress in this sport.

“He comes forward, very aggressive. He will overwhelm you if he has to. Luckily I’m used to training with guys as tall as he is.
Jake is very strong, very quick – surprisingly for a guy who is a YouTuber turned boxer – the guy is a natural athlete.
