“I think the amount of people that know me and know better than to call me and ask me – am I throwing this fight for money, or is it a real fight, or is it an exhibition?
“I don’t understand why people think in 2021, somebody’s willing to let somebody pay them for a fight when I’ve been nothing but a competitor for 30 years.
“And it’s kind of offensive. So, to me, I’m like, ‘Alright. Let me show everybody what it’s all about’.”
Paul will fight Woodley at 11pm local time, meaning a 4am start early on Monday morning for UK fans.
On the undercard are two young British fighters looking to make a mark on their US debuts.
Tommy Fury faces Anthony Taylor in a bid to earn his own fight against Paul.
And Daniel Dubois is up against Joe Cusumano as he continues his bounceback from last year’s defeat to Joe Joyce.

Anthony Joshua fight with Oleksandr Usyk pay-per-view cost revealed at hefty £24.95 leaving most fans fuming

ANTHONY JOSHUA’S heavyweight showdown with Oleksandr Usyk will set fans back a hefty £24.95 – leaving many fuming at the cost.Joshua, 31, takes on the Ukrainian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25.
TV viewers will need to stump up £24.95 to watch Anthony Joshua’s next fightCredit: Mark Robinson Matchroom Boxing
His WBA, IBF and WBO world title belts will be on the line for the first time since dispatching Kubrat Pulev last December.
But for those not inside the 60,000-seater North London venue, they must stump up the cash to watch the action unfold.
Joshua vs Usyk will be shown in the UK on Sky Sports Box Office.
And according to iFL, promoter Eddie Hearn indicated the broadcaster is set to charge almost £25 for the bout.
The fight is the last one on AJ’s Sky contract with the organisation, after which he will become a broadcasting free agent.

Fans took to Twitter to make their feelings known regarding the Sky pricing.
One said: “£25 to see Usyk screwed over in England? Nah stream will do fine.”
Another wrote: “Don’t think I’ve seen a boxing PPV been that expensive before – soon they’ll start charging 50 quid lol.”
    A third simply commented: “Robbed.”
But one user did not mind too much and added: “Thought it would be more, as Sky doesn’t show as much boxing now.”
And a final one replied: “That’s a normal AJ fight price.”
Slick southpaw Usyk has been tipped to give AJ one of the toughest tests of his career, but ex-heavyweight champ David Haye reckons Joshua will tame The Cat before the halfway point of the 12-round bout.
AJ knocks Usyk out very conclusively… 100 per cent inside six roundsDavid Haye
The former WBA titleholder told SecondsOut: “AJ knocks Usyk out very conclusively.
“Left, right, jab, right cross that puts Usyk down or out, and then it’s done. 100 per cent inside six rounds.
“If it does go past six rounds, it’s because AJ wants it to go past six rounds. Yes, and because of what I saw of AJ in the Pulev fight.”
The 18-0 challenger has been piling on the pounds in a bid to bulk up and match the big boys of the division since stepping up from cruiserweight.
But AJ, who weighed 17st 2lb in his last fight, revealed he is actually looking to trim down to avoid being ‘bulky with my muscles screaming for oxygen’.
And he admitted unbeaten Usyk presents the toughest challenge of his career to date.
Watford king Joshua said: “It can be mentally fatiguing so I am sharpening the mind so that I can concentrate for the 12 rounds.

“Also I practice having the ability to [punch] four times, not just once. Concentrate, take your time, pin him down.
“It’s a fight for the brain. Knowing what you’ve got in front of you and knowing how to deal with it.
“You can either be aggressive, corner [him], throw everything at it. Or take your time, be clever, then knock [him] out.”

YouTubers Jake Paul and Logan Paul are ‘great for boxing’ and are bringing ‘kids into the sport says Oscar De La Hoya

BOXING legend Oscar De La Hoya believes YouTube stars Jake and Logan Paul are ‘great’ for the sport. The social media celebs have taken the boxing world by storm over the last two years, so much so Logan recently had an exhibition with five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather.

But the brothers’ rise to stardom in the sport has drawn the ire of many purists, who believe they’re disrespecting the sweet science.
Olympic gold medallist De La Hoya disagrees with that notion and believes the pair are bringing a whole new audience to the fight game.
The Golden Boy told ABC7: “I think Jake and Logan Paul are great for boxing overall.
“In boxing, we are always questioning why is it going down or why are the ratings so low, or why are there not more world title fights and why is it the fanbase diminishing.
“It’s not really on the face of it, but when you have stars like Jake and Logan Paul bringing a whole new fanbase to boxing, I embrace it one-thousand per cent.
“Now kids are coming up to me in the street because of them, now they know who Oscar De La Hoya is and Manny Pacquiao is as these YouTubers are bringing kids into the sport through their platform and through social media.

“So I embrace it always definitely yes.”
Despite his older brother recently sharing the ring with Mayweather, Jake, 24, has made a bigger impact in the boxing world.
The former Disney star is 3-0 as a pro following knockouts of fellow YouTuber AnEson Gib, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson and former UFC welterweight Ben Askren.
The Problem Child will be back in action late on Sunday night against Askren’s good friend, former UFC 170lb champion Tyron Woodley.
And the younger Paul brother is confident he’ll add The Chosen One’s name to his victim list in devastating fashion.
I think Jake and Logan Paul are great for boxing overallOscar De La Hoya on the Paul brothers
He told Sky Sports: “Honestly after this camp, I said three [rounds] and now I’m thinking, max two.
“But to be honest, something in my heart tells me that it’s going to be another one-round fight.
“As crazy as that sounds. I think it’s going to be a very short night for Tyron.”
He added: “I’m just built different. I have something inside of me that I think is just a natural-born fighter, with natural power.
“You can teach a lot of things, but you can’t teach speed and you can’t teach power.
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match
“I think that’s why my fights have ended so early.
