Speaking on his Sit Down podcast, Franzese said: “He’s going to be fighting again in December.
“Lennox Lewis, and I can tell you he’s in great shape.”
Tyson and British legend Lewis had a heated rivalry and an infamous build-up to their blockbuster fight back in 2002.
But it was The Lion who stood tall after a stunning eighth-round knockout win over the American superstar.
And Franzese, a former capo [captain] of the Colombo crime family, claims their long-awaited rematch is not far away.
Tyson returned to boxing last year as he took on Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition fight that saw both fighters going through the full eight rounds, which led to a split-decision draw.

Iron Mike, whose last professional fight took place in 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride, also stated that he would like to share the ring with British superstars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua after facing Lewis.
Tyson recently said: “I just want to get the exhibition over Lennox Lewis and probably my next one will be with Joshua or Tyson.”
But The Baddest Man on the Planet also wants to rekindle his infamous feud with Evander Holyfield.
The 55-year-old bruiser wants to go one-on-one with Holyfield one last time before he officially wraps up his legendary career.

Tyson previously said: “I want Holyfield and I want Lennox Lewis this year.
“I want both of them, I want to get them both this year. I also want to box an exhibition with Tyson Fury.
“If I do that — even if I can get those two guys [Lewis and Holyfield], I’ll say, ‘This is a wrap, I’m just gonna live life’.

“And that’s just exhibitions. I’m gonna break all my professional true records with exhibitions.”
Holyfield is also set to make a stunning return to the ring next weekend against former UFC light-heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort.
Oscar De La Hoya was initially set to face Belfort in the main event of Triller’s latest Fight Club card before he contracted Covid-19.
And in a bid to save the card, the promotion turned to The Real Deal.

The two boxers clashed heads in the second round, with a gash opening across the length of Lara’s eyelid by the end.
Just six months earlier Lara had stunned the boxing world by knocking out the previously unbeaten Warrington in the ninth round in their Wembley Arena clash.
Warrington was adamant it was time for revenge – but he was denied in devastating fashion.
And Ayling was as fuming as the Leeds Warrior was at the early finish.
The former Arsenal youth player was filmed ringside appearing to flick the Vs and mouthing expletives as the fight was waved off.
Speaking after his West Yorkshire disappointment, Warrington said: “All these people wanted to see me get redemption tonight.

“I thought I opened him up with a punch in the first round but a clash of styles, my head hit him.
    “I’m absolutely gutted.
“I wanted to put on a performance and that was always going to come at some point, I felt I was really getting into it.

“I know my promoter Eddie Hearn might want to look in other directions but I need to get this slate cleared, I need to get the W over this man.
“Especially after the second round I sat down and said ‘this is mine for the taking’, I could see it being an early night but not in this kind of scenario.
“Weeks and weeks of promotion, all of these people came out and I can only say sorry, we will have our redemption.”

EBANIE BRIDGES has revealed she has suffered a suspected broken hand in her hard-fought points victory against Mailys Gangloff. The 34-year-old outpointed her French opponent 77-76 at Headingley Stadium on Saturday night to put her back in world title contention.

Australian ace Bridges has now won two consecutive fights in the UK since losing in her WBA bantamweight contest against Shannon Courtenay in April.
The Blonde Bomber bossed the opening rounds against Gangloff, before she mysteriously eased off late on which allowed the 25-year-old to come back into the bout.
But she has now explained why she took her foot of the gas on the undercard of Josh Warrington’s rematch against Mauricio Lara.
In a social media post, the Sydney schoolteacher shared a snap of her badly swollen right hand.
Captioning the upload, she tweeted: “Thanks to everyone that tuned in and all the fans that came to Leeds! Love you all I hope you enjoyed the fight!
“Fight Dr said he’s pretty sure it’s broken but will get scans to confirm but I’m praying it’s just really swollen.

“Time for some well deserved rest.”
Following her hand injury, Bridges has had to cancel a meet and greet event in Leeds.
She told her followers: “Sorry guys, I really would love to see everyone but I am still in the ER waiting for results on my hand and it’s kinda hard to hold a pen.
“I want to meet my fans so I will be doing my best to rearrange this ASAP. Thanks for understanding.”
It wasn’t just in the ring where Bridges impressed, with the boxer wowing during her pre-fight weigh in.
Bridges set pulses racing as she wore racy lingerie, with Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn claiming he had to look elsewhere.
Discussing his strategy for dealing with Bridges’ raunchy weigh-in, he said: “Anywhere the eyes look, there are cameras everywhere, do you know what I mean?

“So the best way to go about it is just to look somewhere else. Ebanie knows what she’s doing. She’s a tremendous fighter. Obviously a lot of people want to see her weigh-in as well.
“It is what it is, but for me, it’s not about keeping composure, it’s about making sure the camera doesn’t catch me at a particular time where I might be looking somewhere that looks like I’m looking somewhere else.
“I’m respectful of that and I think I’ll just find a spot at the back of the wall somewhere.”

Eddie Hearn shares gruesome snap of Mauricio Lara’s horror eye cut that saw his rematch with Josh Warrington called off

EDDIE HEARN has shared a gruesome picture of Mauricio Lara’s eye cut that forced his rematch against Josh Warrington to end in a draw. The Mexican featherweight, 23, clashed heads with the Leeds Warrior in the second round of their bout on Saturday night with referee Steve Gray calling off the contest.

As there were fewer than four rounds contested at Headingley Stadium, the fight ended in a technical draw – much to the frustration of Warrington and his adoring fans.
But there can be no denying that Gray made the right choice in prematurely ending the contest following the horror gash picked up by Lara.
Uploading a snap of the slash on Instagram, Hearn said: “What a sickener – but a horrendous cut!”
Warrington was left devastated after being denied the chance to avenge the loss he suffered at the hands of Bronco in February.
Speaking after the encounter, he said: “All these people wanted to see me get redemption tonight.
“I thought I opened him up with a punch in the first round but a clash of styles, my head hit him. I’m absolutely gutted.”

“Weeks and weeks of promotion, all of these people came out and I can only say sorry, we will have our redemption.”
Meanwhile Hearn has stated he believes that the fight should have continued for at least another round.
He told DAZN: “The second round, it got so exciting after the clash of heads because Lara feared that his cut was opening up.
“Josh Warrington knew under four rounds there would be no decision. I would have loved to have seen at least another round. I’ll be honest with you.
“The cut was absolutely horrific. I didn’t think it was when he [Lara] went back to his corner. I also felt like Lara was looking for a way out of the fight.

“They called the doctor in, but the cut was absolutely horrific, and unfortunately, there was no way he could continue.
“The atmosphere was so good, and the ring walk was one of the best I’d ever seen. I wanted to see more rounds.
“That’s never happened to me before in a main event, and I’m gutted for Josh. People came out tonight and had a great night, but we really wanted to see that fight unfold because it was build up to be a thriller.”

Fury’s win moved him to 7-0 inside the paid ranks, and he has turned his attention to facing the former Disney actor, 24, who has won all four of his professional bouts inside the squared circle.
Speaking immediately after his win against Johnson, Fury remarked: “There’s no excuses, no running, no hiding. I want you next, you bum. Let’s get it on.”
And he has now been asked by TMZ Sports what would happen if they ever fought.
Commenting on the potential contest, TNT said: “It’d be over inside a round.
“From what I’ve seen against Tyron Woodley the other night, he’s scared to throw a punch when he’s in with somebody who could even knock him out.
“He don’t want to commit. He took one shot and nearly fell through the ropes.

“From what I seen the other day, I have my hands up, walk straight to him and get him out of there inside three minutes.”
He also stated: “My message to Jake Paul is that he’s a massive p***y and he doesn’t want to fight.
“He’s not a fighting man. So when he grows a pair of b******s, come and see me, but until then, don’t mention my name ever again.”
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has also been speaking of the Problem Child, as he insisted he wants him to face Conor McGregor before walking away from boxing.
He said: “I think he should fight Conor McGregor.

“I think he’s [Jake Paul] going to get beat sooner or later. So why not just go and fight Conor McGregor and make loads of money. It’s actually quite a good fight.
“I don’t know how they’re going to make the weight up. Could Jake get to 170? I don’t know.
“But just make the fight. Let them make a few quid and then walk off into the sunset.”

Josh Warrington fight with Mauricio Lara ends in DRAW after headbutt causes nasty cut over Mexican’s left eye

JOSH WARRINGTON’S shot at redemption turned into a bloody disaster after he accidentally head-butted his way to a technical draw with Maurico Lara. The 30-year-old father-of-two took a tune-up fight with the unknown Mexican last February and suffered the first brutal defeat of his career.
Warrington felt he was in a strong position to win the fight
Lara suffered a nasty gash above his left eye
Josh Warrington’s rematch with Mauricio Lara ended in a draw
But he jumped back into the fire and got burned when referee Steve Gray cancelled the contest after just six minutes when a clash of heads left Lara with a horrible gash.
Warrington said: “All these people wanted to see me get redemption tonight.
“I thought I opened him up with a punch in the first round but a clash of styles, my head hit him.
    “I’m absolutely gutted.”
In a stark and silent Wembley arena, in the midst of the miserable lockdown, the 9st ace was dropped heavily in the fourth before somehow surviving until a round nine KO.
For weeks the former IBF 9st king could not leave the house and was too embarrassed to go shopping with his wife.

A pep-talk video call with Anthony Joshua – who suffered a similar shock against Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 – got Warrington back into the gym.
And the Elland Road regular’s Yorkshire pride convinced him to take an instant rematch with the 23-year-old banger, when he could have plotted his way back toward a world title along a far easier path.
Instead, Lara peeled off his poncho and howled into the Headingley crowd, happy to be the most unpopular man in the white-hot atmosphere.
Warrington has always played up to his feather-fisted reputation – having only 7 KOs in 30 wins – but his round-one right hands looked mean and capable.
But the local legend got carried away in the second and smashed his forehead into Lara’s eyebrow, with a gash quickly peeling open and oozing.
The visitor’s corner tried to smother it in Vaseline to stem the flow but the referee had no choice but to call it off and tarnish both records with a draw as fewer than four rounds had been contested to score.
“I wanted to put on a performance and that was always going to come at some point, I felt I was really getting into it,” added Warrington.
“I know my promoter Eddie Hearn might want to look in other directions but I need to get this slate cleared, I need to get the W over this man.
“Especially after the second round I sat down and said ‘this is mine for the taking’, I could see it being an early night but not in this kind of scenario.

The strongman legend, 33, has been training like a Spartan following his move into the world of boxing.
Fuelled by a desire to knock out old rival Thor, Hall has ditched the 31.4 stone (200kg) frame that saw him become the World’s Strongest Man in 2017.
Instead, ‘The Beast’ now weighs a comparatively trim 24.8 stone (158kg).
And after finding his ideal size for boxing, Hall is even more confident of bringing down ‘The Mountain’ when they clash next year in a rescheduled fight.
He told Muscle and Health: “When I won the World’s Strongest Man I was almost 200kg.
“Right now I weigh about 158kg, so I’m 40 kilos or so down.

“I’m happy to fight 158kg, to be honest. I’ll probably go in at this weight.
“My game plan is to combine power, speed, agility, and endurance and I’ve got all four attributes nailed down.
“I can do ten three-minute rounds quite comfortably.
“I think the third round will be the end for him. That’s what I’m aiming for.”
As well as training hard, Hall puts his body transformation down to nutrition, dropping his food intake to 6,000 calories a day.
But although that’s over double what most people eat, Hall has slashed his daily intake by HALF.
He added: “In my Strongman days I was consuming upwards of 12,000 calories a day. That was just a constant cow grazing.

“All-day from the second I woke up to the second I went to sleep I’d have meals. I was probably eating eight meals a day with snacks in-between and lots of liquids like high-calorie smoothies.
“Now, I have four square meals a day and five protein shakes in-between to make sure I don’t dig too big a hole.
“I’d say I’m on roughly 6,000 calories a day right now. That’s half what I was eating when I was the World’s Strongest Man.”
