Mike Tyson ‘scared’ to fight Evander Holyfield despite being offered massive pay day, says Triller’s Ryan Kavanaugh

MIKE TYSON is too ‘scared’ to fight Evander Holyfield again, according to Triller owner Ryan Kavanaugh.Iron Mike has been offered a ‘massive payday’ to step into the ring for a trilogy bout with his old rival Holyfield.

But according to Kavanaugh, he would rather fight Lennox Lewis instead.
He told Sky Sports: “We know he is trying to stage a fight with Lennox Lewis.
“We have been told that he is scared to fight Evander.
“There has been back and forth hoopla, there is a massive payday ready for Mike to fight on Thanksgiving. A massive payday, one of his biggest!
“But we can’t seem to push it along.
“Now I have heard, from a number of reliable sources, that Mike is too scared. He thinks Evander would knock him out.”

Holyfield, 58, beat Tyson by 11th round knockout back in 1996.
Their second fight would become infamous, when Tyson bit off a chunk of his opponent’s ear.
On the possibility of them meeting again in the ring, Holyfield said last year: “I don’t know, you would have to ask him!
“I wouldn’t ask nobody to do anything they don’t want to do. But it’s for charity. If we can work something out that works for everybody then it’s a win-win-win.”

Chris Eubank Jr reveals Billy Joe Saunders is demanding £5M to face rival in rematch fight and blasts ‘I’m the A-side’

CHRIS EUBANK JR claims rival Billy Joe Saunders wants £5million to face him in a huge rematch between the British pair. The two fighters faced each other in November 2014, with Saunders inflicting a first professional defeat on Eubank Jr.
Saunders defeated Eubank Jr in November 2014Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
But Eubank Jr now believes his stock is higher than Saunders’Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Discussing a potential rematch with Fight Night via talkSPORT, Eubank Jr, 31, said: “I heard him say he’s demanding £5m.
“The funny thing is he’s not in a position to be demanding anything, he has no belt, he has no credibility in the sport after quitting against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez after saying he’d die before taking a knee in the ring.
“He lambasted Daniel Dubois after an eye injury, a real eye injury. There was nothing wrong with Saunders, he got a blackeye but there was no smashed orbital bone, there was no broken eye socket, there was no proof of that – that was all a sham.
“That’s why he’s been MIA [absent from boxing] for the last few months because of the shame in what he did.
“He has no credibility, he has no power in the sport so he can’t be saying he wants £5m, he’ll get what he’s given.
“I’m the A-side and once he understands that we can talk.”

Saunders, 32, lost the first fight of his professional career and his WBO super-middleweight world title to Canelo in May.
Eubank Jr, meanwhile, has won his last four fights following his second pro defeat to fellow Brit George Groves in February 2018.
Eubank Jr added: “It [the rivalry] used to burn inside, now he’s not on my radar. He has nothing – he has no respect, he has no belt.
“It’s not something that’s super important to me. Obviously he has a win over me so I want to avenge that but I’m not going to go out of my way, I’m not going to break my back to make that fight.
“He needs me. I’m his only option, he has literally no one else to fight. Whereas I have an untold amount of names and fights that are available to me over the next year or two. Huge, huge fights.
“As long as things are on my terms we can make it happen and I’m sure we will at some point in the future.”

The son of former two-weight world champ Chris Eubank Sr is yet to win a major world title since turning professional a decade ago.
Eubank Jr has been WBA interim and IBO champ during his career but few in the boxing world class those belts as genuine world titles.
And becoming world champ at super-middleweight level looks a near impossible task thanks to Canelo unifying the division.
Saunders used Eubank Jr’s lack of a world title to hit back at his comments, writing on Instagram: “You never won a world title because your s**t.
“You got £75k last time we boxed and your day took £30k [of that cash].
“BUM. I’m your pay day little boy and you may never get a chance to get that W bk [win back], boxing bin men.”

Anthony Joshua shows off new lean physique but biceps still bulging after weight cut before Oleksandr Usyk fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA has shown off his new lean physique as he continues to prepare for his September 25 bout with Oleksandr Usyk.Heavyweight champion AJ has a size advantage on former cruiserweight king Usyk.
Anthony Joshua has shared some pictures from recent training
The British heavyweight star is looking in excellent shape
Although he recently revealed that he is looking to slim down a little against the ’12 round fighter’.
Joshua, 31, showed off his current build in a recent Instagram post.
And while the Watford-puncher is looking thinner, he still possesses bulging biceps.
He captioned his post: “Heavy hitta 💥”.
Joshua recently revealed his game plan regarding his body shape going into the Usyk fight later this month.
He told Sky Sports: “I do look at my weight but I’m not trying to make weight because I’m a heavyweight.

“I tailor my training. I am getting a lot of experience, I’ve been fighting good fighters for a long time, I’ve studied them and learned about their training camps.
“I’ve learned how to condition my body for specific fights. I’m looking trim for this fight.
“I’m fighting a guy who is a 12-round fighter. So it would be silly of me to go in there bulky with my muscles screaming for oxygen.
“I’ve been training like a 15-round fighter in this camp. I will be well-conditioned to fight. That is key.

“What happens when I train that way? My body adapts and takes its natural form. This is the form it has taken.”
Joshua’s career-heaviest as champion was the 18st 2lb he weighed in 2017 before beating Carlos Takam, now 40, in ten rounds.
And his lightest was 16st 13lb, when he outboxed Andy Ruiz Jr, 31, in their 2019 rematch having been stopped six months prior.

Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort: Date, UK start time, live stream, TV channel and undercard for massive fight

IT’s official – Evander Holyfield is back.It was supposed to be the return of ‘Golden Boy’ Oscar De La Hoya but after the former six-weight champ caught Covid-19, Holyfield stepped in.
Vitor Belfort will take on Evander Holyfield this weekend in FloridaCredit: Getty
De Le Hoya looked set to follow legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather by returning to the ring in recent months before his unfortunate diagnosis.
But Holyfield, 58, will get that chance instead, with the event being moved to Florida, as the California State Athletic Commission refused to license ‘The Real Deal’.
    When is Holyfield vs Belfort?

This contest is all set for Saturday, September 11.
It will take place in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida.
The fight is set for eight rounds of three minutes.
Action on the undercard starts at 1am BST, so expect the main event around 4am on Sunday morning in the UK.

Which TV channel and live stream can I watch it on?
Here in the UK, you’ll be able to watch on FITE.TV.
The streaming only service will provide the undercard and main event for $23.99, which is around £17.
You can also follow all the action right here on SunSport with our live blog.

Who is fighting on the undercard?
The full card is yet to be approved, but it looks set to be a cracker in LA.
David Haye is reportedly set to come out of retirement to fight Joe Fournier on the bill.
Haye is scheduled to fight earlier in the evening on a separate PPV, allowing for fight fans in the UK to watch.
The full card is also set to feature Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz.
David Haye hung up his gloves in 2018 after a glittering career
    What they said
Holyfield has previously spoken of his dream to return to boxing, and now he’ll get his chance against Belfort.
“Where an opportunity is available, I like to make the best out of what I have. I believe if I fought Mike [Tyson] the fight will generate $200million,” he told SunSport back in May.
“It will be the biggest fight there is. That’s the honest truth. I think Mike has my message already. If he is going to do it he is, if not then he’s not.
“It’s a decision he has to make now and we both have to be in an agreement.”
Before the De La Hoya fight was cancelled, Belfort had been planning for a clash with Holyfield in December, but will get that opportunity three months early.
“After September, December is me vs Holyfield. Get ready for the crossover!” He said.
We are taking over, Triller is bringing the fights. A huge dream.” More

Five next opponents for Josh Warrington including Mauricio Lara trilogy and clash with Brit rival Kid Galahad

JOSH WARRINGTON will be contemplating his next move after his heartbreak at the weekend. The Leeds boxer saw his shot at revenge against Mauricio Lara cruelly cut short when the Mexican suffered a horror cut after a clash of heads.

The fight was stopped at the end of the second round and scored as a technical draw.
And although early days, Warrington looked much more like himself than when he was KO’d by Lara six months earlier.
With Lara now needing months to heal, and Warrington barely out of first gear after training camp, all eyes will be on his next move.
Here, SunSport runs through five potential opponents for the Yorkshireman.

    KID GALAHAD
It might not be the fight Warrington wants, but Galahad is now the proud owner of Warrington’s old IBF featherweight world title.
Speaking on Sky Sports after watching Warrington’s revenge mission end in tears, Galahad admitted he WOULD give Warrington a shot at the belt.
And that might have something to do with the fact the Sheffield man wants his own revenge – Warrington beat him on points in a tight affair in June 2019.
It was a messy, blundering kind of scrap – and not one the fans would be overjoyed with. But Warrington’s army would still turn out in force.

WINNER OF SHAKUR STEVENSON VS JAMEL HERRING
Warrington has always said it his dream to fight in America – yet the time is passing by to get this sorted.
He was previously in talks to fight US prodigy Shakur Stevenson, but that never materialised.
Stevenson will fight WBO super-featherweight champ Jamel Herring in October, and Warrington could well angle for the winner.
But the Brit has been criticised for not having enough punch power at featherweight, so stepping up to fight one of these two could be Mission Impossible.
Herring ended Warrington’s old foe Carl Frampton’s career – could he do the same to Josh?

    LEO SANTA CRUZ
Four-division world champ Santa Cruz is coming towards the end of his career at 33, but is still a formidable opponent.
He was involved in two barnstormers against Northern Irish hero Frampton – a man Warrington enjoyed a stunning unanimous points win against.
Santa Cruz is also still a world champion – though he lost against Gervonta Davis last time out, it was a catchweight fight so he maintained his WBA belt.
And the Mexican still draws big crowds in the US – where Warrington wants to head.

    EMANUEL NAVARETTE
The 26-year-old Mexican is on a stunning run of form, with seven KO wins in his last eight fights.
Navarette has only lost once in his pro career to Daniel Argueta – but that came in 2012 on points.
He is the current WBO featherweight world champ – and being Mexican will mean fans will flock to support the fighter.
Emanuel Navarrete has a world title so could be a fancied option for WarringtonCredit: Getty Images – Getty
    MAURICIO LARA
The obvious next opponent would be the man for the trilogy in Lara.
Warrington had started off well against the powerful Mexican, but it was still early days.
And Lara was still moving the Leeds Warrior around the ring when he connected with jabs and hooks.
Warrington is CLEARLY desperate to get his revenge against the 23 year old, but his promoter insisted after the latest disappointment that there were ‘other options’ for Warrington.

Tyson Fury will make switch to MMA after boxing career and can go far ‘with the right training’, claims dad John

JOHN FURY has revealed his son Tyson will transition into MMA when he calls time on his boxing career. The Gypsy King is 33-years-old, but according to dad John he still has plenty of fight left in him.

Fury Jr steps into the ring again on October 9 as he meets Deontay Wilder for the third time.
But when asked how Tyson would fare in MMA during an interview with JOE’s Youtube channel, John said: “With the right training, he does very well.”
Tyson’s dad went on to say: “I’ve seen him excel in different sports, wrestling. I’ve got some sort of an idea what Tyson was from that.
“And he likes to get involved, Tyson, and I know what he’s like from being a kid.
“He can use more than his hands, believe it or not. And he’s quick and light on his feet. And his balance is good.
“And I do believe if a top MMA trainer took him on, he could do big things with him. Ask Darren Till, he’s done the work with him.”

Tyson previously teased an appearance inside the octagon in 2019, telling fans during a WWE event that he would be eager for a cage fight.
And dad John said: “I think the rougher it gets for Tyson the better he likes it.
“It brings what we call something different to his job, doesn’t it? It gives him more goals to achieve and more things to look at and address.
“And I think that’s what Tyson wants. And when he does finally retire from boxing, he’ll probably go to that and probably come back to boxing, whatever he does. But he will engage on that, you’ll see.”
When it comes to boxing Fury’s record is an impressive one.

He’s yet to taste defeat as a professional, with 30 wins from 31 bouts – and one draw.
A switch to MMA is not likely to come any time soon though, with fans desperate for an all-English bout of the ages between Tyson and Anthony Joshua.
And John once again chimed in on the matter, revealing that his son was targeting a bout with Joshua before the end of the year.

Tommy Fury tells ‘massive p***y’ Jake Paul to ‘grow a pair of b******s’ and fight him or shut up amid bitter feud

TOMMY FURY has told ‘massive p***y’ Jake Paul to ‘grow a pair of b******s’ and fight him.The 22-year-old extended his record to 7-0 by beating Anthony Taylor on the undercard of Paul’s victory over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

Fury has long been linked with fighting the Problem Child and continues to be so.
Unimpressed by the YouTuber’s 4-0 record, Fury believes that he would make light work of Paul.
He told TMZ: “It’d be over inside a round.
“From what I’ve seen against Tyron Woodley the other night, he’s scared to throw a punch when he’s in with somebody who could even knock him out.
    “He don’t want to commit.
“He took one shot and nearly fell through the ropes.

“From what I seen the other day, I have my hands up, walk straight to him and get him out of there inside three minutes.
“My message to Jake Paul is that he’s a massive p***y and he doesn’t want to fight.
    “He’s not a fighting man.
“So when he grows a pair of b******s, come and see me, but until then, don’t mention my name ever again.”
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn reckons that Paul should fight Conor McGregor instead, before then walking away from the sport.
He said: “I think he should fight Conor McGregor.

“I think he’s [Jake Paul] going to get beat sooner or later. So why not just go and fight Conor McGregor and make loads of money. It’s actually quite a good fight.
“I don’t know how they’re going to make the weight up. Could Jake get to 170? I don’t know.
“But just make the fight. Let them make a few quid and then walk off into the sunset.”
