Deontay Wilder demands his full share of fight purse if Tyson Fury pulls out of rescheduled trilogy bout

Fury will be making the first defence of the belt he sensationally snatched from Wilder in their last bout 18 months ago.
The pair had been set to renew their rivalry in July this year but Fury was forced to withdraw after a Covid outbreak in his camp.
Wilder remains unconvinced by the reason behind Fury’s initial withdrawal and has now issued a stark warning ahead of the rescheduled event.
“If he doesn’t show up he’s going to have to suffer the consequences, the penalties that have been set forth,” the American told YouTube channel 78SportsTV.
“If he doesn’t fight, then pay me what you’re supposed to pay me. Then you have to give up that belt as well.”
Wilder and Fury each went into their February 2020 rematch guaranteed to earn £3.9million, rising to £19.4m once pay-per-view and ticket sales were totted up.

Reports suggest their trilogy fight could land both fighters a guaranteed £6m payday.
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has insisted his charge has his sights on a blockbuster bout with British rival Anthony Joshua.
But Wilder warned the Wythenshawe fighter not to bottle their upcoming clash.
    He added: “It’s a win-win situation for me, it’s a lose-lose situation for him.
“That’s the great thing about it, the saying has always said that history repeats itself.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
“We know his actions are always the same, he’s done this many times where he tries to get out of fights.
“He has had a door to escape from. But at this moment in time he has no more doors, no options.
“He has to put up or shut up, fight or retire. Either fight and give me my money or give up that belt.
“It’s a win-win situation for me and with that being said I can sleep at night.”

Anthony Joshua will LOSE Oleksandr Usyk fight if it goes 12 rounds, says Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren

ANTHONY JOSHUA will be on the wrong end of a decision if his showdown with Oleksandr Usyk goes the distance. The Watford warrior will defend his unified heavyweight titles against the undefeated Ukrainian a week on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And promoter Frank Warren reckons Usyk could spring a major upsetCredit: PA
The footwork of the fleet-footed and elusive Usyk will be Joshua’s biggest problem to overcome on fight night.
And Tyson Fury’s co-promoter – Frank Warren – reckons the former undisputed cruiserweight champion could dance his way to a points victory over AJ.
He told iFL TV: “He proved it at cruiserweight.
“He was fantastic, and he’s made his mark in that weight division. He was a superb cruiserweight.
“He’s done everything you could ask for. He’s come up a weight and fought Chazz Witherspoon, went seven rounds, and he fought Derek Chisora.
“So now that he’s [Usyk] is up there and comfortable, I don’t think he’s a natural heavyweight.

“I bet you if he still needed to, he could probably still make cruiserweight. Who knows?
“But Anthony Joshua must be the favourite for the fight. He’s the bigger guy, much bigger, and he’s a bigger puncher.
“Having said that, if he [Joshua] doesn’t get rid of him, and if he’s still there after five or six rounds, then it gets to the end of the fight, if that goes 12 rounds, I would fancy Usyk to get the decision because to get there, he’s going to have to outbox him.”
Warren reckons the undersized Usyk will look to negate Joshua’s power by getting in close and working on the inside.
The Queensbury Promotion’s chief continued: “He’s [Usyk] obviously a very smart operator, and you know how he’s going to fight.
“He’s going to get inside, get underneath AJ’s jab, and if he can do that and work inside, he can give him a lot of problems.
“We don’t know because we want the big fight.”
Victory over Usyk will see Joshua do his part to preserve the long-awaited Battle of Britain with Fury, who will face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight three weeks on Saturday.

And the Olympic gold medallist has vowed not to break under the immense pressure on his shoulders.
He told Sky Sports: “With Usyk, I don’t really fold under pressure.
“On September 25th, it’s time to practice everything I know.”

The fight was due to go to a purse bid on Tuesday, but Top Rank and the PBC eventually ended up hashing out a deal.
An elated Crawford told ESPN: “I’m very excited.
“Now I can show my talent and maybe I can show something for the general public, something that they’ve never seen before.
“Because I don’t believe that I’ve showed them my best yet.”
Porter is champing at the bit to share the ring with the undefeated Crawford, who he reckons he has a serious edge over.
The 33-year-old told ESPN: “It’s extremely big… experience means nothing if you don’t use it.

“But my record speaks for itself.
“Everyone’s seen what I’ve done, every experience that I’ve had, I’ve held onto them and I’ve used them to my advantage.
“When you consider the experience in this fight and me having more experience than Terence Crawford, that is a fact.
“When I say the fight between me and Terence Crawford is going to be great, it’s gonna be great.
“When I say I have what it takes to beat him, don’t sleep on that, believe that. I do!”

Crawford, also 33, hasn’t set foot inside the ring since his fourth-round TKO victory over Brit Kell Brook in November 2020.
Porter, meanwhile, was last in action last August, cruising to a unanimous decision victory over Germany’s Sebastian Formella.
Crawford will be hoping to retain his WBO crown in order to set up a long-awaited showdown with IBF unified welterweight champ Errol Spence Jr.

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley PPV buys revealed with sales only half of Floyd Mayweather’s numbers with brother Logan

JAKE PAUL’s showdown with Tyron Woodley reportedly only generated HALF the pay-per-view buys his brother’s bout with Floyd Mayweather did.The YouTuber turned boxer defeated the former UFC welterweight champion via split decision in their bout late last month.

That figure was HALF of the buys generated by Logan Paul’s clash with Floyd MayweatherCredit: Getty
Paul’s clash with The Chosen One was projected to be as successful as his older brother Logan’s exhibition with Mayweather, which garnered one million pay-per-view buys.
But according to Wrestling Observer, Paul vs Woodley raked in less than 500,000 buys.
They claim the buys for the former Disney star’s fourth professional bout was in the range of 480,000 to 500,000.
Both Jake and Logan’s respective last outings were promoted by Showtime Sports.
Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza was optimistic Paul vs Woodley would be a success, tipping it to do ‘slightly below’ the Mayweather vs Paul numbers.
Hours before the show got underway, Espinoza told MMA Junkie: “I think we’ll be pretty close to 15,000 in the arena.

    “That’s probably a few tickets short of a sell-out.
“Less than 500 tickets, maybe closer at the time.
“The pre-buys are bigger than just about anything we’ve done lately short of Mayweather Paul.
“So it’s tracking within line with, but slightly below, Mayweather-Paul.
“Now look, I’m not saying it’s gonna hit a million buys.
I’m over itJake Paul on a potential rematch with Tyron Woodley
“Because you have to take tracking with a large grain of salt.
“It’s a few thousands buys and trying to predict, five, six or seven hundred thousand. But the indicators are very good.”
Paul, 24, fought through adversity in his eight-rounder with Woodley to preserve his undefeated record.
The Problem Child agreed to have an immediate rematch with the Missouri mauler, but only if he honoured the pre-fight tattoo bet they made.
    Jake Paul’s boxing ‘hit-list’
But he’s since moved on as Woodley has yet to get ‘I love Jake Paul’ inked on his skin.
When asked if he’s still open to the rematch, Paul told ESPN: “I’m over it.
“I’m leaving Tyron in the past. He didn’t live up to the bet — he didn’t get the tattoo.”

Deontay Wilder tells Tyson Fury to ‘burn in hell’ for using Covid as an ‘excuse’ to delay fight

DEONTAY WILDER has told Tyson Fury to ‘burn in hell’ after claiming the Brit used coronavirus as an ‘excuse’ to delay their trilogy fight. The heavyweight rivals were due to meet for the third time back in July, but an outbreak of Covid in Fury’s camp led to the fight being pushed back to October 9.

They will now completely their trilogy in Las Vegas in OctoberCredit: The Mega Agency
And while there is now less than one month until Wilder gets his shot at redemption, he continues to insist that The Gypsy King never had coronavirus at all.
Speaking to 78SPORTSTV, the American said: “So many have died of COVID.
“To hear others using this as an excuse is just horrible. May they burn in hell for that.
“They contradict themselves so many times, it’s just ridiculous at this point.”
Last week, Wilder accused Fury of postponing their trilogy bout because he was beaten up in sparring by someone from his camp.
He told the PBC Podcast: “They’re trying to run away from it, I’m running to it. I don’t believe he had Covid.

“I know he wasn’t doing well in camp. The young guys were piecing him up.
“I had a young guy from my camp who was piecing him up.”
The pair fought to a controversial draw back in December 2018 in Los Angeles, a clash many felt Fury won after he climbed off the canvas in a dramatic 12th round.
They then went their separate ways with two fights apiece before getting back into the ring with one another 14 months later in Las Vegas.
And this time Fury was able to decisively rip the belt away from Wilder as he dominated the American, eventually stopping him in the seventh round.
A trilogy fight was due to take place later in 2020 but the coronavirus pandemic stopped it from happening.
Fury then looked to bypass Wilder and set up an undisputed clash with unified champion Anthony Joshua.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight

But a court ruling from an arbitrator ruled that the American was contractually entitled to a third fight, a decision which quashed the potential for a Fury-Joshua bout next.
In order for the two Brits to meet for all the belts, Fury now has to come through Wilder again.
And AJ has to defend his belts against former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25.

Jake Paul blasts MMA fighters after beating Tyron Woodley: ‘You guys cannot box for sh*t’

JAKE PAUL launched a scathing attack on MMA fighters following his victory over ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley.Paul called out the whole MMA division for their poor boxing abilities which he highlighted during his points win against Woodley.

The YouTuber claims his win over one of the UFC’s best fighters on what he says was a bad night, shows that he has superior boxing skills than all of them.
He raged to MMA Fighting: “You guys cannot box. I outboxed five-time UFC f*cking champion.
“You guys cannot box for sh*t. There is not one moment in the fight where Tyron was outboxing me. Not one.
“I just took out one of your best fighters, Hall of Fame of all time and sh*t all over him on a bad night on a hyperextended elbow. So f*ck all of you.”
Paul’s cage was rattled after several MMA fighters claimed he was scared to get in the ring with them, which he says couldn’t be any further from the truth.
The 24-year-old pointed to his 4-0 record since starting boxing two years ago, which includes a win over retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, as proof that he doesn’t run from battles.

And if it came down to it, Paul’s adamant that he’ll run through every ‘b***h ass’ MMA fighter one by one.
He added: “The notion that these MMA fighters think that I’m scared of them is just funny or that I’m running away?
“Guys, I’ve fought four times in the past two years. You can’t even really fight more than that if you’re doing big fights.
“I’m going to back-to-back-to-back on these b***h ass MMA fighters. Like, line them up, I will take all of them down.”
But before Paul demolishes the MMA division singlehandedly, he may go up against Tommy Fury in the ring.
It’s been confirmed that Paul and the younger Fury brother are in talks to make a sensational bout happen.
Paul, 24, recently said Fury, 22, who is 7-0, was his priority next opponent as he wanted to fight a ‘real boxer’.
But the social media sensation has now told of his other talks with ex-UFC champions Anderson Silva, 46, and Vitor Belfort, 44, which puts the fight in jeopardy.

Anthony Joshua studying Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao’s ‘old-school training’ ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA revealed he is studying Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao’s ‘old-school training’ ahead of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk. AJ will again be led into battle by Rob McCracken, Team GB’s head coach who guided Joshua to gold at the London Olympics in 2012.
Anthony Joshua revealed he is studying Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao’s ‘old-school training’
The iconic Cus D’Amato with a teenage Mike Tyson
The pair are situated in GB’s Sheffield HQ, where they are surrounded by the future of British boxing.
It meant during the delayed Games this summer in Tokyo, AJ went without McCracken, who was with the record-breaking boxing squad.
And while GB picked up six medals, Joshua was training with the rest of his entourage and secretly studying the greats of the sport.
That included vintage gym footage of Iron Mike’s first coaches, Kevin Rooney and his iconic mentor Cus D’Amato.
Joshua told Sky Sports: “Definitely. Rob is the gaffer.
“Having the gaffer there, or not there? You feel his presence. But in a way it worked out well because we have got a good team.

“I always look at old-school training – Manny Pacquiao had Freddie Roach. Kevin Rooney, Teddy Atlas and Cus D’Amato.
“Certain athletes move to different trainers. But we kept it all in-house.
“We are able to perform and train, even when one person is away, we are still able to construct a good training camp.”
McCracken took over as Joshua’s head coach in 2016 and they have had eight title fights together, twice winning unified titles.
Adding to the Olympic gold he won in London, AJ credited the determination he has to succeed for his coach.
“I always look at old-school training – Manny Pacquiao had Freddie Roach. Kevin Rooney, Teddy Atlas and Cus D’Amato.Anthony Joshua
He said: “I’ve got to win a fight for Rob. I’ve got to want to fight for Rob.
“When I go onto the battlefield. If you don’t get along with your coach and believe in him wholeheartedly?”
Joshua, 31, was due to fight Tyson Fury, 33, in the summer until the Gyspy King was unable to walk away from his trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, 36.
It would have come in a period McCracken was in Japan, but instead AJ’s return was postponed until September 25.
He now faces mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk, 34, at Tottenham’s stadium and will have his coach in the corner.

Tyson Fury’s dad John, 57, willing to fight Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in SAME NIGHT for £1million

JOHN FURY has claimed he would fight heavyweight legends Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in the SAME NIGHT. But John, dad to unbeaten WBC champion Tyson, boasted how he is ‘not cheap’ and would demand £1million for it.

The former bare-knuckle fighter boxed 13 times as a professional with a record of 8-4-1.
He last did so in 1995, but has recently been training with his sons Tyson, 33, and light-heavyweight Tommy, 22.
And John, 57, revealed he would be tempted back into the ring but only for boxing royalty and at a premium price.
He told Queensbury Promotions: “I’ll fight them all, let’s talk some dollars. Let’s talk some cash, some figures and I will fight but I’m not cheap.
“If they want to fight John Fury £1million I’m going to step up to the plate with any of them.

“If you can’t put up a million quid then don’t ring my phone. Because the last thing I’ve lost is my nuts.
“I’m training well, I’m in the Derbyshire peak district running five miles every day up mountains.”
John last year announced plans to fight and was called out by former bodybuilder Micky Theo.
But amid the coronavirus pandemic, the bout never materialised with talks breaking down.
John cryptically confirmed he will not return to the ring for just anybody and outlandishly appears to want only legends of the past.

He said: “I’m doing well, I’m fitter than I was almost twenty year ago and they know that.
“Ring my phone you boys. Bums need not reply, big boys only.”
Tyson, 55, last year came out of retirement 15 years after his last fight for an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr, 52, which ended in a draw.
Holyfield, 58, did the same this month but was stopped in a round by ex-UFC champion Vitor Belfort, 44.
But still, the American wants a trilogy fight with Tyson, the man who infamously bit his ear in 1997 a year after losing in round 11.
