Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin tale of the tape: How two heavyweights compare ahead of huge O2 clash on October 30

DILLIAN WHYTE will return to the ring and welcome another heavyweight challenger in Otto Wallin. The British contender has agreed a deal to fight Swede Wallin on October 30 at the O2 Arena in London.
How Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin compare
It is yet another tough task for Whyte, who has been patiently waiting for his shot at Tyson Fury’s WBC belt.
But not wanting to sit on the sidelines and get cold, the Brixton banger will again risk his ranking in a big way.
Here, SunSport runs down how the two compare.
    Dillian Whyte
Since his first defeat, to Anthony Joshua in 2015, Whyte has emerged as the most improved stars in the division.
Wins over Lucas Browne, Joseph Parker, Derek Chisora, Oscar Rivas and Alexander Povetkin gives him one of the best records among the big boys.
He even proved capable of overcoming adversity to beat Povetkin in their rematch in March having been knocked out seven months prior.
Whyte has an excellent jab which helps set up his massive right hand and honey-punch left hook.
And points wins over Chisora, Rivas and Parker all proved he can go the exhausting 12-round distance.
His rematch KO over Chisora in 2018 came while two judges had him down, only more evidence he can pull it out of the bag in dramatic style.
Whyte at 6ft 4in gives away a slight height advantage to Wallin, but with equal reach, it allows the Brit to come over the top with trademark hooks.
Dillian Whyte knocked out Alexander Povetkin in their rematch

    Otto Wallin
Before Wallin fought Fury in 2019, he was a fairly unknown but unbeaten prospect who did have international amateur experience.
But after taking the Gypsy King to points, and causing him 47 stitches after a hook in round three, his star power rocketed overnight.
Since then, Wallin has respectable wins over Travis Kauffman and Dominic Breazeale, beaten by both Joshua and Deontay Wilder before.
He was also used as a sparring partner by AJ and the pair even boxed each other in the amateurs.
Wallin will also provide Whyte with his first southpaw opponent since journeyman Tomas Mrazek in 2014.
Currently, Wallin is ranked 11th in the IBF with a record of 22–1 with one no contest.

Dillian Whyte to face Otto Wallin – who forced Tyson Fury to have 47 stitches – in blockbuster O2 fight on October 30

DILLIAN WHYTE will fight giant southpaw Swede Otto Wallin on October 30.The 33-year-old Brixton banger takes on the man who slashed a 47-stitch gash into Tyson Fury’s eye in 2019.

The Brixton Body Snatcher will take on Swedish southpaw Otto WallinCredit: AP
Wallin left Tyson Fury needing a whopping 47 stitches after their 2019 boutCredit: AP
And the Body Snatcher will be eager to do a far more convincing job than the Gypsy King, who was lucky not to be stopped and needed the judges’ scorecards.
Whyte has slaughtered Fury’s latest promise to fight him in December as a publicity stunt to help sell his Deontay Wilder trilogy on October 9.
And doing a job on the huge underdog, who came close to stunning Fury, would make a big statement.
Whyte had been planning to fight US veteran Chris Arreola at London’s O2 but the bout fell through.
So, with just six weeks to go, he needs to switch his focus to a 6ft 6in leftie with plenty left in the tank at 30.
Since the Vegas UD loss to Fury, Wallin has continued impressing, taking his record to 22-1, with wins over Travis Kauffman and Dominic Breazeale.

Whyte – who hasn’t set foot inside the ring since his demolishing of Alexander Povetkin in March – has been engaged in a war of words with WBC king Fury on social.
But the former kickboxer is paying little attention to the lineal heavyweight champ’s latest Twitter taunts, telling SunSport: “For God’s sake, don’t get carried away listening to a single thing that conman says.
“His best attribute as a boxer is just getting the public to believe any of his bull****.
“I am the easiest boxer in the world to make a fight with.
“You call me or my people, offer us the venue, date and purse and we say yes or no.
“But Fury and his team talk rubbish.
Don’t get carried away listening to a single thing that conman says.Dillian Whyte on Tyson Fury
“They have no interest in ever fighting me, he has been mandated to fight me twice and ducked out of it — the same as he did with the Wladimir Klitschko rematch he swerved.
“No one wants to see this third Wilder fight.
“British fans can’t fly over there, it’s going to be on at 5am, so he’s using my name to try to mug fans off again into buying into his b*.
“They’ve had nearly two years to build the fight — and still no one is interested. They can’t even give the tickets away.
“Personally, I can’t see the fight even happening on October 9.
“There’s only three weeks to go and he’s still in the UK going through the motions — his American trainer Sugar Hill has only just arrived.

“He’s play-acting that the fight is happening. It’s a joke.
“As I’ve said before, the WBC need to put him into recess and let me take care of business.
“The heavyweight title has only been contested five times in four years, against three opponents. It’s a disgrace.”

Paul, 24, agreed to box The Chosen One again if he honoured the pre-fight bet by getting ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattooed on his skin.
Woodley, 39, has yet to get the tatt but believes the former Disney star has no intention of fighting him again.
The Missouri mauler told MMA Fighting: “It went from, ‘Get the tattoo, and it’s a rematch,’ to ‘get the tattoo and we’ll think about a rematch,’ to, ‘Oh, he didn’t get the tattoo, so there’s no rematch.’
“It sounds like he’s just f**king scared to fight.
“He knows he squeaked out by the hair on his chinny chin, chin; a lot of people thought he lost the fight. He got saved by the ropes.
“Man, s**t, if I was him, maybe I’d just run off into the wind, as well.

“But if he’s sitting there acting like that’s not why we’re doing the fight, he’s a f*****g liar.”
Woodley is desperate to settle the score with the younger Paul brother but admits the ball is well and truly not in his court.
He added: “I can’t make another man fight me.
“At the end of the day, I’m not going to beg another man to fight me.
“But if you’re looking at a prizefighting sport that’s talking about me making money, me and Jake might go down as having the fourth overall pay-per-view.
“Nobody wants to watch no damn Tommy Fury. They saw us fight already, there’s some controversy.
“It sounds like he’s just f**king scared to fightTyron Woodley on Jake Paul moving on from a potential rematch
    “Some people thought I won.
“Some people thought there was controversy that I haven’t even brought up yet, that we were like, ‘Ah, that wasn’t in the original agreement.’ I still feel like it’s unresolved.
“This is the beginning of a trilogy, and no other fight option that he has is going to do what we did with just organic drama.”
Paul’s sights are currently set on a bout with UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal, a contest that was recently shut down by president Dana White.
The YouTuber recently issued an ultimatum of the UFC big-wig, writing on Twitter: ‘”Anderson’s out… JAKE JAKE JAKE.’
“I want your star talent. Your ‘in their prime’ strikers so I can exploit their lack of Boxing ability.

Fury demolished Wilder inside seven rounds to inflict the first defeat of the American’s career back in February 2020.
Neither man has fought since then, and both have been busy in longer training camps.
When is Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3?

Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 was originally slated to take place on July 24, but it will now take place on October 9.

The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas plays host.

What TV channel and live stream is Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 on?

Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 is most likely to be broadcasted live on BT Sport Box Office in the UK, though it has not yet been confirmed.
In the US the event is expected to be live on ESPN+ and Fox PPV.

    How the fighters compare

    Who is on the undercard?
The event, cross-promoted by Top Rank and Premier Boxing Champions, will see a host of heavy-hitters featuring on the undercard.
That includes the battle of unbeaten heavyweights in Cuba’s Frank Sanchez meeting Nigeria’s Efe Ajagba.
Sanchez, a training partner of Canelo Alvarez who is promoted by Top Rank, will put his 18-0 record against PBC’s Ajagba, who stands 15-0.
Robert Helenius will also rematch Adam Kownacki on the bill.
Polish prospect Kownacki, 32, was defeated for the first time and stunned by veteran Helenius, 37, in March 2020.
American star Jared Anderson will return, with an opponent yet to be confirmed.
Anderson, 21, is 9-0 and was credited as a huge part in Fury’s win against Wilder last year.
He provided the Gypsy King with expert sparring Stateside, winning the praise of the WBC champion.

    What have they said?
Fury, after Wilder’s silence during their press conference: “It shows how weak of a mental person he is.

“It shows how much the beating from the last fight has taken an emotional and physical effect on his life.
“I was worried about Deontay Wilder for quite a while after the defeat I gave him.
“Obviously he’s doing his little thing with his earphones on and he doesn’t want to answer any questions, that’s up to him. I’m here to promote a fight and talk to the press – what I always do.” More

JAKE PAUL has claimed UFC president Dana White won’t allow Jorge Masvidal to fight him because he’s ‘scared to get embarrassed.’The Problem Child has been pursuing a boxing match with Gamebred ever since the UFC welterweight tipped him to lose his clash with Tyron Woodley.

White was quick to shut down the idea of allowing the under contract Masvidal to face the younger Paul brother, urging the YouTuber to throw down with MMA great Anderson Silva.
That irked the former Disney star, who tweeted a lengthy note with the accompanying caption: “@danawhite why you so scared to get embarrassed?”
The attached note read: “‘Anderson’s out… JAKE JAKE JAKE.’
“I want your star talent. Your ‘in their prime’ strikers so I can exploit their lack of Boxing ability.

“If we lose, I leave you and your exploitative business alone. DANA…DANA…DANA?”
Paul, 24, hasn’t been shy in voicing his stance on fighter pay in the UFC, taking White and the company to task on social media and in several interviews.
Last month, he said: “It’s something I’m bullish on and something that needs to change.
“For my fight, when we were building out the undercard, I was like, ‘We need to make sure this fight, these fighters, every single person on this card gets paid the most they ever got paid to fight.’
“I just want to spread the wealth and be about my words and put action behind my words and be the change instead of just talking about the change.”
Me vs. Jorge Masvidal and Amanda Serrano vs. Amanda NunesAn Excerpt of Jake Paul’s Note to Dana White
Paul was last in action in August against former UFC 170lb king Woodley, whom he defeated via split decision in his home state of Ohio.
And he’s hellbent on his next outing be a grudge match with Masvidal, who he trained with in Miami ahead of his clash with Ben Askren.
When asked about his next fight, he told MMA Fighting: “I mean honestly just from a personal standpoint, I would love for it to be Masvidal.
“Just cause of the sh*t talk. Just cause of his name.
“Just cause he’s still in his prime era and there’s a lot of personal beef there. I just took out his boy Tyron.
    Jake Paul’s boxing ‘hit-list’
“But hopefully Dana [White] would let him out of his contract but we’re not sure if that can happen.
“But for me personally, I think that would be the toughest challenge, the toughest guy and the biggest name.
The most relevant currently. I think that’s the one to make. I think it will happen at some point regardless, but that’s at the top of my list for sure.”

Dillian Whyte slams Tyson Fury’s ‘bulls***’ promises and claims ‘conman’ Gypsy King won’t fight him, Wilder or Joshua

DILLIAN WHYTE has warned British fight fans not to believe Tyson Fury’s ‘bull****’ promise to finally give him his WBC world title shot. The Gypsy King, 33, is preparing for his October 9 trilogy showdown with Deontay Wilder.

But Fury also claimed he had a three-man hit-list that included a December clash at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff with Whyte, an Anthony Joshua double and a swansong against Derek Chisora.
But Whyte, 33, reckons it is just a desperate ploy to drum up interest and help sell Fury’s Las Vegas fight with Wilder — which comes a fortnight after Joshua’s pay-per-view clash with Oleksandr Usyk a week on Saturday.
Whyte told SunSport: “For God’s sake, don’t get carried away listening to a single thing that conman says.
“His best attribute as a boxer is just getting the public to believe any of his bull****.
“I am the easiest boxer in the world to make a fight with. You call me or my people, offer us the venue, date and purse and we say yes or no. But Fury and his team talk rubbish.

“No one wants to see this third Wilder fight.
“British fans can’t fly over there, it’s going to be on at 5am, so he’s using my name to try to mug fans off again into buying into his b*******.

“As I’ve said before, the WBC need to put him into recess and let me take care of business.
“The heavyweight title has only been contested five times in four years, against three opponents. It’s a disgrace.”
Fury is only taking the bout because a US judge forced him to — after he claimed the rematch clause had expired.
The undefeated 6ft 9in ace and his team convinced AJ and his backers they were free for an undisputed summer blockbuster in Saudi Arabia, only for all the dreams and plans to be dashed at the 11th hour.
    ‘FURY F***ED AJ OVER’
Whyte has vowed to never be taken for a mug by fast-talking Fury.
He added: “AJ has just wasted about a year of his career planning for Fury, training to fight a 6ft 9in orthodox stick-and-mover and now he’s suddenly stuck fighting a 6ft 3in southpaw, Fury f***** him over.
“AJ has been mugged off  but that is what Fury tries to do to everybody.
“That’s what they want me to do, rip up all my plans, trust his talk, spend thousands of pounds on a training camp focused on fighting him — and then he will try to f*** me over too.
“It ain’t happening, let him rip off some other sucker. Fury just wants to fight bums and when he gets told to take a proper fight he isn’t guaranteed to win, then he pulls out.
“But nobody should buy his fight thinking it’s a warm-up fight for him to take me on next — because he is talking s*** as usual.”

Before the heavyweight rivalry turned bitter, Whyte helped Fury as a sparring partner in the Gypsy King’s training camps in 2012 and 2013  — and insists he floored him numerous times.
Whyte fumed:  “He said I’m chinless but if ever fights me he’ll be headless.
“He is a professional coward, who always plays the victim card, spouting endless excuses.”

He said: “That rat deserves a beating from me.
“That’s what he’ll get if and when he comes back from quitting against Canelo this summer the first time he was hurt.
“The history of our animosity will fill the Amex Stadium in Brighton to see him swallow against me the way he did against Canelo.”
Saunders, 32, is currently licking his wounds from his eighth-round TKO defeat to pound-for-pound king Canelo in May.
But he is open to sharing the ring with Eubank Jr again, telling talkSPORT: “I know it is a fan’s fight really.
“It’s not really a fight where I would look or need to take.

“I’m financially secure, done it all, ticked all the boxes from Southern Area to two-weight world champion.
“So it’s a fight that would interest me if the money was right and I would do it more for the fans than anything.

Paul is currently taking some time away from the boxing ring as he focuses on his first passion, YouTube.
The 26-year-old American went the distance with legendary fighter Floyd Mayweather in an eight-round exhibition back in June.
And while he has not made it clear what is next for him in the fight game, UFC star Jorge Masvidal recently called out both Logan and his brother Jake – who holds a professional boxing record of 4-0.
