Deontay Wilder takes break from Tyson Fury fight training as he zooms around on buggy just weeks before trilogy

DEONTAY WILDER took a break from preparing for his trilogy fight with Tyson Fury for a spot of dune buggy racing. The former WBC heavyweight champion is gearing up for an October 9 showdown with The Gypsy King.
Deontay Wilder is currently gearing up for a trilogy fight with Tyson Fury
But The Bronze Bomber took some time off of training to go dune buggy racing with his pals
The former WBC heavyweight champ ended up being covered in mud
Wilder had to help free his pal’s buggy after nearly crashing into him
But to take his mind off the rigours of camp, Wilder – along with a few of his friends – decided to hit the race track.
The Bronze Bomber live-streamed the race on Instagram and was clearly having the time of his life.
As he zoomed around the track, he repeatedly shouted: “Y’all can’t hang me with me.”
But things almost took a turn for the worst when the American nearly crashed into the back of one of his friends.
After seeing his pal crash into the side of the muddy track, Wilder said: “Oh s**t, wipeout.
“Wipeout, wipeout. Oh, man, you stuck.”

Wilder didn’t let his friend stay stuck in the mud, getting out of his buggy and helping pull out the vehicle.
Moments later, he said: “This you have fun on a Friday when it’s a long day at work.”
Breaking into song, Wilder added: “Please don’t blow up on me, I’ve got a fight to go to.”
He then asked his followers: “Are y’all ready for October the ninth?”
Wilder, 35, suffered a brutal seventh-round TKO loss to Fury in their rematch last February.
And the Alabama slammer is hellbent on avenging his first professional loss in devastating fashion.
He said: “My mind is very violent.
“We built a whole facility to commit a legal homicide and that’s just what it is, my mind is very violent at this time.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
“I can’t wait, when you’re contemplating and pre-meditating about harming a man and you see that person, what you’ve been thinking and feeling will come out.
“The only thing about it is, at that point in time, I have to wait until I get in the ring to really release because I can’t do it on the outside, it’d defeat the purpose.
“The baby’s got to eat, but when I do get in the ring, this is what I love about it, I’m able to release everything I’ve been feeling, everything I’ve been thinking, and get paid to do it.”

Joe Joyce says Luis Ortiz doesn’t want ‘the smoke’ and eyes Anthony Joshua v Oleksandr Usyk winner at Arsenal’s Emirates

JOE JOYCE has claimed fellow heavyweight rival Luis Ortiz turned down a fight with him because he didn’t ‘want the smoke’.The 36-year-old Brit is currently awaiting his world title opportunity after his win over Daniel Dubois last year put him in the position as mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua’s WBO strap.

But Joyce, who won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games, is having to be patient as Joshua prepares to fight Oleksandr Usyk this Saturday night and then potentially Tyson Fury.
As a result, Joyce is having to stay active, with his last fight coming in a sixth round stoppage of Carlos Takam in July.
Speaking to iFL TV, he said: “I’m just training, waiting for my fight date, and I should be out before the end of the year. Working on things in the gym, getting stronger, fitter, ready for a world title shot soon coming to you.
“That was an option [to fight Joseph Parker], but he’s obviously now going to fight Derek Chisora, and there were a few more names.
“[Luis] Ortiz was mentioned, but I’m not sure he wants the smoke. But there are other names around the area. We’ll see what we can get.

“The better person to talk to would be Adam or Sam [Joyce’s managers]. In the back of my mind, that’s what I can remember as the opponents.”
When asked directly whether Ortiz turned down a fight against him, Joyce then added: “Yeah. He didn’t want a war.”
Cuban Ortiz has won 32 of his 34 professional fights, with his only defeats coming at the hands of Deontay Wilder.
Ex-world champion Wilder, who is facing Fury for the third time on October 9, knocked Ortiz out in the tenth round of their 2018 fight.
They then rematched at the end of 2019, with Wilder stopping him in the seventh round.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fan Joyce also revealed he wants to take on Joshua at the Emirates Stadium in London.
When that idea was put to him, he simply said: “That’s the plan.”
Joshua is taking on Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the ground which homes Arsenal’s rivals Spurs.

Five next opponents for Anthony Joshua if he beats Oleksandr Usyk including three Brits along with Tyson Fury

ANTHONY JOSHUA is yet another hurdle away from his dream of undisputed heavyweight supremacy. Joshua agreed terms with Tyson Fury to put, for the first time ever, all four titles in the blue riband division on the line in August.

But Fury was then ordered by an arbitrator to fulfil his contracted trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder.
It instead left AJ to face mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk this Saturday at Tottenham’s stadium.
Joshua will hope a win again puts him in line to fight Fury, but , several other challengers wait in the wings if things somehwo go wrong again.
Here SunSport looks at AJ’s five likeliest next opponents – win, lose or draw on Saturday night.
    Tyson Fury
Boxing fans will pray, should Joshua, 31, and Fury, 33, both come out of their respected fights still champions, the all-English unification can finally commence.
They have both made it clear there is no other option they want more and with all the money to be made it is surely a no-brainer.
But AJ recently likened it to Floyd Mayweather’s fight with Manny Pacquiao, which took over five years to make but broke pay-per-view records.
Everyone involved will hope the Battle of Britain has the same success, but can be resolved much sooner than another five years.

BETTING SPECIAL – GET JOSHUA TO WIN IN ROUNDS 1-6 AT 60/1 OR ANYTIME AT 25/1
    Joe Joyce
Joyce, 35, was in line to fight Usyk, 34, for the WBO ‘interim’ title while Joshua was in talks with Fury.
But after that collapsed, Usyk was instead given his shot at AJ while Joyce was made the new mandatory.
It should guarantee him a crack at the belt, but now the WBO are behind the WBA and IBF in the queue for mandatory fights.
Joyce could be made to wait, but his ranking gives him a great chance of fighting AJ in the future.

    Dillian Whyte
Whyte, 33, beat Joshua in their 2009 amateur fight but was stopped when they rematched in the professional ranks six years later.
He is now gunning for Fury’s belt after a relentless period of waiting as the WBC’s No1 ranked challenger.
Whyte has called to get his opportunity against Fury before AJ and wants the backing of the WBC to do so.
But, a rematch with Joshua is a massive draw if terms cannot be agreed elsewhere and promoter Eddie Hearn has the pair in his stable already.
Dillian Whyte and promoter Eddie Hearn
    Deontay Wilder
If Fury is mandated to fight Whyte, it eliminates two of the three biggest British heavyweights in the game.
And even if Wilder is once again beaten by Fury, his history of failed talks with AJ, and proven punching power, will always appeal to fans.
Furthermore, if the American, 35, is successful in gaining revenge on Fury in October, it makes a fight between Wilder and Joshua as big as ever.
The Bronze Bomber has made it clear AJ is the man he wants next if he reclaims his WBC belt.

    Oleksandr Usyk rematch
If Joshua is beaten by Usyk, he has a rematch clause in his contract.
But boxing is a funny old game, and even if AJ wins, or draws, a rematch with the Ukrainian cannot be ruled out.
Usyk is the type of opponent you wouldn’t queue up to fight, so doing so twice would be remarkable.
But, Joshua is fearlessly competitive and if there is any doubt after Saturday, he’d be the first to try and settle it.

Usyk, 34, has been prepping for his first crack at heavyweight gold in his homeland of Ukraine, which he left on Monday morning onboard a private plane.
The Cat shared snaps of himself and his team about to board a private jet to Instagram early this morning.
And his entire entourage donned fluorescent turquoise tracksuits for the trip.
    The post’s accompanying caption read: “#SpaceX #Jaxet #UsykJoshua.”
Usyk’s clash with Joshua, 31, will be his third outing in the heavyweight division – which he gatecrashed in October 2019.
But the Olympic gold medallist is more concerned with his son’s first days at school than his bid to become a two-division world champion.

BETTING SPECIAL – GET JOSHUA TO WIN IN ROUNDS 1-6 AT 60/1 OR ANYTIME AT 25/1
The Cat told SunSport: “At the moment I don’t think about Anthony Joshua.
“I don’t think about what he will do, what he will use or how he will box.
“I have a little bit of timing to finish my training camp now, I might think about it then.
“Right now I think more about how my son feels at school because he has just started first grade and he really did not want to go and do it.
“He was saying: ‘I don’t want to go to school, dad. I am bored at school and you’re not there.’
“But everything is fine now, he seems to have calmed down.
“So I probably think more about that than what Anthony Joshua will do in the ring.”

Usyk cruised to a unanimous decision victory over Derek Chisora in his last outing last November but was less than impressed with his performance.
And the slick southpaw believes Joshua’s team will be in for a rude awakening if they expect an easy win off the back of his last outing.
He said: “I am very grateful to all those that support me and everything else but they expect too much from athletes.
“Some of them very much do not understand what is happening in the ring, how difficult it is or, in some cases, how easy it is.

“People just have an image that they think up.
“The fact is I boxed Derek for 12 rounds but he is actually a very difficult guy to beat.
“If you look at his two fights with Tyson Fury then he has gone 22 rounds with him.”

And Fury, who is a big Man Utd supporter, reacted to Lingard’s goal on social media after the match.
Speaking on Twitter, he said: “‘It ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward.
“How much you can take, and keep moving forward.’ #Jlingz.”
It has been a rollercoaster week for Lingard following his error in the Champions League on Tuesday.
His poor backpass allowed Swiss side Young Boys to score a stoppage time winner in a shocking 2-1defeat.
But Lingard made amends at the weekend as he struck a superb 89th minute winner against West Ham – the club he rejuvenated his career at during a loan spell last season.

But the drama did not end at Lingard’s goal as the Hammers were then awarded a penalty, only for substitute Mark Noble to be denied by United keeper David de Gea.
The victory will have been a welcome result for Fury as he continues his preparations for the trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.
The WBC champion will look to repeat what he managed in February 2020 when he stopped Wilder in the seventh round following a dominant display.
And Fury is determined to put his rivalry with the American to bed once and for all.
If he does beat the Alabama fighter, he then wants a showdown with compatriot and fellow world champion Anthony Joshua.
Speaking about a potential undisputed bout with AJ, he said:  “AJ couldn’t smoke a cigarette, never mind smoke the Gypsy King. He hasn’t got the minerals to fight a man like me.

“I said to Eddie Hearn straight, ‘The difference in me and him is he’s a businessman and I’m a f***ing Spartan.’
“And I’ll show him that when I get in the ring. I will absolutely annihilate that bodybuilder, he won’t go past six rounds. It will be over quickly.
“He knows that and his full team know it. And that’s why Eddie Hearn has been steering around me for the last ten years.”

Later in the night, Logan’s brother Jake beat ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley on points over eight rounds.
It has perfectly paved the way for Jake, 24, and Fury, 22, to fight with the pair already in talks.
But Logan, 26, fancies Jake’s chances having sparred Taylor, 32, and claiming it only lasted one round despite coming off a bender.
He told True Geordie: “The dude Tommy Fury beat . I’d been drinking 45 days straight after the Floyd Mayweather fight.
“I come back, I sparred the kid Tommy fought, he didn’t make it out of the first round… He’s gonna get f***ing murdered [against Jake].
“It isn’t a fight between me and Tommy Fury at all, I can say what I want now I really don’t give a f***, Tommy couldn’t even finish Taylor in the four round period.

“Do people think he is going to win? I was watching his fight and it is very clear that he is still an amateur, he is clearly built for it but there is something he lacks.
“From what I saw from that fight, there is levels to this s*** and I am way above him.”
Paul moved to 4-0 after beating Woodley, adding to his knockout wins online rival ‘AnEsonGib, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, both 37.

Meanwhile, Fury went 7-0 and his promoter Frank Warren later confirmed talks are ongoing with Paul’s camp.
Logan was ringside in his hometown of Cleveland to watch Jake and Fury win, but is no closer to making a return of his own.
It comes after he took boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, the eight round distance, technically avoiding defeat, in their exhibition in June.

Paul then had two years out of the ring before amazingly returning for an exhibition bout with boxing legend Mayweather.
And after it went the full eight round distance, the social media sensation technically avoided defeat.
Following 20 rounds between KSI, 28, and Mayweather, 44, Paul insisted his old YouTube rival punches harder than one of the greatest of all time.
He told True Geordie: “KSI for sure, for sure. Not even a competition. “[Mayweather’s] clean shots, I was like, ‘Cool, good shot.’

Ricky Hatton demands investigation into Evander Holyfield’s loss to Vitor Belfort and rages ‘hang your heads in shame’

Holyfield – who sparked concerns with his open workout during fight week – looked a shell of his old self and was stopped inside two minutes.
Hatton was saddened to see the all-time great decimated by a man 14 years his junior and believes the Florida State Athletic Commission shouldn’t have sanctioned the fight to begin with.
He wrote in his Metro column: “I wasn’t very happy to see Evander Holyfield get knocked out in the first round at the weekend, not at all.
“The board of control in Florida needs investigating for allowing that to happen.
“I’m all for exhibitions. I’ve said I’m open to one myself, two former champions showcasing their skills one last time for the fans with the understanding that no one will get seriously hurt.
“But this was very different. It was a 58-year-old Holyfield, coming in on a week’s notice to replace Oscar De La Hoya at the very last minute.

“I wrote something on Instagram this week saying the people who allowed this Holyfield fight to happen should hang their heads in shame.”
Prior to his return, Holyfield had expressed an interest in having a trilogy fight with fellow legend Mike Tyson.
That fight, however, is unlikely to come to fruition given how slow and frail he looked against former UFC champ Belfort.
Hatton added: “We have to move with the times. I understand that.
“Floyd Mayweather fought Conor McGregor, then he fought [a YouTuber].
The board of control in Florida needs investigating for allowing that to happenRicky Hatton on Holyfield vs Belfort
    “Mike Tyson fought Roy Jones.
“We can get away with that. Tyson and Jones was an exhibition, both were well prepared, and the conditions were right.
“Floyd and [YouTuber] probably had some sort of understanding of what was actually going to go on in there.
“But Holyfield got put in a very bad situation by his people. Exhibitions are fine, as long as there are boundaries to protect and maintain the boxer’s health.
“This is a social media world. We have to move with the times. But I don’t care if you’re a boxing purist or a fan of YouTubers.

“If you find that entertaining, then you want to have a look in the mirror.”
Despite putting up little resistance against a reinvigorated Belfort, Holyfield believes the stoppage in their fight was premature.
He said: “I thought it was a bad call. I don’t think the referee should have stopped the fight that quick.”
