Anthony Joshua’s swollen eye going down as Brit continues recovery after brutal Oleksandr Usyk battering

AJ looked a lot fresher on Monday morning as he posted an inspirational message to his 13million Instagram followers.
He wrote: “Have a great week whatever you got planned.”
Joshua was taken to hospital with a suspected broken eye socket after being dethroned by Usyk but didn’t suffer a fracture.
The undefeated Ukrainian outclassed AJ to win the fight by unanimous decision but the latter is determined to regain his belts.
Joshua has activated a rematch clause in their contract and it’s believed the two boxers could fight again in early 2022.
The two-time heavyweight champ has reassured fans his ‘spirit is strong’ and he’s learnt from his shock loss to Usyk.

BETTING SPECIAL: GET 30/1 ON FURY OR 50/1 ON WILDER FOR HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CLASH
He tweeted in September: “I’ve watched the fight, analysed my preparations & identified my mistakes. I’ve learnt my lesson.
“Thanks for sending love & checking in. Don’t worry about me. My spirit is strong!”
Former heavyweight champ David Haye has backed Joshua to regain his WBA, IBF and WBO world titles – if he uses his ‘physical attributes’.
But others, including Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren, have expressed doubts over AJ’s prospects against Usyk.
Warren recently wrote in Boxing Scene: “I cannot actually imagine a rematch turning out much differently.”
And boxing icon Ricky Hatton believes there’s more to come from Usyk and he could stop AJ in a rematch.

Tyson Fury bulking up over a stone in muscle for Deontay Wilder trilogy and is ‘a bit crazy’, says trainer

TYSON FURY will be over a stone heavier for his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder than he was in their rematch, his coach Sugarhill Steward has revealed. The Wythenshawe warrior will renew his rivalry with the American in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Fury, 33, revealed his plan to weigh a whopping 300lbs for the fight at a press conference in June.
But according to Sugarhill, the ‘crazy’ Gypsy King will tip the scales at 290lbs on Friday.
He told Vegas Insider: “It’s not going to be 300 pounds, it’s probably going to be like 290 or something but not 300 exactly.
“Heavier than last time by 20 pounds or so, why not?
“He’s training with that weight, he’s built up. It’s not like he’s just putting on fat, it’s building up muscles.
“The bigger the better, the heavier the stronger.”

BETTING SPECIAL: GET 30/1 ON FURY OR 50/1 ON WILDER FOR HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CLASH
WBC king Fury produced a sensational performance in his rematch with Wilder 19 months ago, stopping the American in seven rounds.
And the lineal heavyweight champ plans on turning in an even better display third time around.
Fury said: “I gave my game plan away the first time because he wasn’t good enough to do anything about it.
“And I’ll do the same thing this time because he’s not good enough to do anything about it.
“Deontay Wilder is a one-trick pony. He’s got one-punch power, we all know that – great.
“But what I’m going to do to Deontay Wilder this time is I’m going to run him over as if I’m an 18-wheeler and he’s a human being.
“I guarantee he does not go past where he did before [the seventh round].
It’s probably going to be like 290 or something but not 300 exactly.Sugarhill Steward on Tyson Fury’s weight for the Deontay Wilder trilogy fight
“Because before, I only had five or six weeks of practicing what I’m going to do to him.
“This time, I’ve had 18 months of practicing what I’m going to do to him.
“So I anticipate it’s going to be like an 18-wheeler running over somebody, and that’s what you’re gonna see.
“I’m building my weight up, trying to get up to 300lbs for this fight.
“Because I’m looking for a big knockout straight away.”
Wilder, 35, is hell-bent on avenging his first professional loss in devastating fashion, saying: “My mind is very violent.
“We built a whole facility to commit a legal homicide and that’s just what it is, my mind is very violent at this time.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
“I can’t wait, when you’re contemplating and pre-meditating about harming a man and you see that person, what you’ve been thinking and feeling will come out.
“The only thing about it is, at that point in time, I have to wait until I get in the ring to really release because I can’t do it on the outside, it’d defeat the purpose.
“The baby’s got to eat, but when I do get in the ring, this is what I love about it, I’m able to release everything I’ve been feeling, everything I’ve been thinking, and get paid to do it.”

Who is Tyson Fury’s trainer SugarHill Steward, and why did the Gypsy King split from Ben Davison?

TYSON FURY was victorious over Deontay Wilder the last time they fought each other, and a lot of that is owed to the Gyspy King’s trainer SugarHill Steward.Steward replaced Ben Davison ahead of the rematch last year and will be in Fury’s corner again this weekend in Las Vegas.
SugarHill Steward will be in Tyson Fury’s corner again on Saturday
    Who is SugarHill Steward?
A former Detroit policeman, he is the nephew of legendary Hall of Fame trainer Emmanuel Steward.
He was announced as Tyson Fury’s new trainer just two months before the rematch against WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
Fury told the Telegraph: “The only reason I’m with Sugarhill is because I need a knockout in this fight.
“If I was looking to nick a points win, I’d have stuck with Ben.”
Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder by KO last year in Vegas
Why did Fury split with Ben Davison?
He did not want to share training with Steward and resigned.
Fury told the Telegraph: “That was that, he resigned.
“I didn’t get rid of him. Ben walked away of his own accord.
“He’s got other commitments as well. He’s training Billy Joe Saunders and I’m over here for months at a time, and it’s probably worked out for the better.
“That’s the truth and I can’t say any more than the truth.”

Ben Davison trained Tyson Fury for five fights

Who else is in Fury’s camp?
Andy Lee was in Fury’s camp for the rematch but he’s not involved this time around.
Corner man Stitch Duran, whose main task is ensure Fury’s cut eyebrow from the Otto Wallin fight does not split open again.
Jorge Capetillo will also likely be part of Fury’s corner in Vegas.
    When is Fury vs Wilder?

The T-Mobile Arena in Vegas plays host.

What channel is it on and can it be live streamed?

The event will cost £24.95 to purchase.BT Sport’s coverage starts from midnight. More

Bob Arum interested in Tyson Fury fight with Dillian Whyte next after Deontay Wilder and Otto Wallin matchups

TOP RANK chief Bob Arum is open to giving Dillian Whyte his long-awaited crack at Tyson Fury.Brixton banger Whyte has been the mandatory challenger for Fury’s WBC strap for nearly 1500 days but has been frozen out of the title picture.

And veteran promoter Bob Arum is seemingly open to pitting Fury gainst WhyteCredit: GETTY
But Arum is willing to give the Body Snatcher his shot at heavyweight gold should he beat Swede Otto Wallin and Fury retain the title in his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.
He told iFL TV: “I haven’t spoken to [WBC President] Mauricio [Sulaiman] yet, we will have to see [what they rule on Fury’s mandatory].
“I assume you are talking about Dillian Whyte, who is the number one contender.
“And that could be a big, big fight for Tyson, particularly if we held it in UK.
“That is not out of the question, Dillian Whyte is a capable heavyweight and a fight against Tyson Fury or Wilder [or] whoever wins would be a very interesting fight.”
Whyte, 33, has grown tired of Fury’s trash talk in recent months and recently accused him of swerving their mandatory clash.

BETTING SPECIAL: GET 30/1 ON FURY OR 50/1 ON WILDER FOR HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CLASH
He told SunSport: “His best attribute as a boxer is just getting the public to believe any of his bull****.
“I am the easiest boxer in the world to make a fight with.
“You call me or my people, offer us the venue, date and purse and we say yes or no. But Fury and his team talk rubbish.
“They have no interest in ever fighting me, he has been mandated to fight me twice and ducked out of it — the same as he did with the Wladimir Klitschko rematch he swerved.”
Fury, 33, will renew his rivalry with Wilder in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning.
But like a lot of boxing fans, Whyte isn’t fussed about the third chapter of the pair’s story.
That could be a big, big fight for Tyson, particularly if we held it in UKBob Arum on a pontential fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte
He said: “No one wants to see this third Wilder fight.
“British fans can’t fly over there, it’s going to be on at 5am, so he’s using my name to try to mug fans off again into buying into his b*.
“They’ve had nearly two years to build the fight — and still no one is interested.
“They can’t even give the tickets away.”
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
He added: “He’s play-acting that the fight is happening. It’s a joke.
“As I’ve said before, the WBC need to put him into recess and let me take care of business.
“The heavyweight title has only been contested five times in four years, against three opponents. It’s a disgrace.”

Deontay Wilder doubles down on Tyson Fury accusations calling Gypsy King a ‘f*****g cheater’ in behind the scenes clip

DEONTAY WILDER has once again blasted Tyson Fury as a ‘cheater’ in a behind-the-scenes training clip. The American is in the final stages of his preparation for his trilogy scrap against the Gypsy King this weekend in Las Vegas.
Deontay Wilder has once again accused Tyson Fury of ‘cheating’ to beat him
Wilder had no answer as he was battered by Fury in February 2020Credit: Reuters
He is a man on a mission, desperate to reclaim his WBC heavyweight belt that Fury ripped off him in February 2020.
After Wilder’s corner threw in the towel after a seven-round pummelling, the Bronze Bomber gave a whole host of excuses as to why he had lost.
One was that his ring-walk outfit was ‘too heavy’ and another was a ludicrous accusation that his coach Mark Breland had ‘spiked his water’.
The well-respected Breland has strenuously denied those accusations.
Wilder also threw shade at Team Fury, accusing them of underhand tactics to get the stoppage win.
He has once again echoed that belief just days ahead of his shot at redemption.

Speaking to PBC, Wilder said: “All I gotta do is half of that. He ain’t good, all I gotta do is half of that. He ain’t what people think. He a f***ing cheater.
“I feel great. I have a great team, everybody’s just on one accord. And when you have a team that’s on one accord it’s like the instructions come even clearer.
“And it’s like how can you go wrong when you have so many guys on the same page and looking for perfection.
“You’ll never be perfect but that don’t mean you can’t practice it and here we’re practicing to make perfect so when I get in the ring won’t be no questions asked, won’t be going back to old habits and build right off what we’ve been working on in this camp.
“My hand will be raised high in the sky, and not because I whooped his ass in 12 rounds, but because I knocked him out.”
    OUTLANDISH CLAIMS
Wilder also hinted that Fury had a ‘foreign object’ in his glove in their second fight – and said that was what caused the huge lump formed on his head.
He also claims the Brit’s gloves didn’t have the correct padding, which enabled him to carry out more damage.
Team Fury has of course vehemently denied any wrongdoing, with the Gypsy King laughing off Wilder’s wild claims.

    WILD WARNING
Deontay Wilder has issued Tyson Fury with a harrowing warning ahead of Saturday’s clash.
Wilder and Fury have already faced twice with their first fight ending in a controversial draw and Fury winning the second one.
Their first encounter saw The Bronze Bomber coming just inches away from victory when he knocked the British superstar down only for The Gypsy King to get back up to his feet.
But the American boxer said: “This time you won’t get up”

    THROWBACK
Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder shared the ring for the first time in 2018.
The match ended in a dramatic and controversial draw as many still believe Fury deserved the win.

And it all boils down to this weekend’s Vegas settler.
Both fighters have arrived in the desert for their history-defining fight, with grand arrivals to take place on Tuesday.
There are sure to be words thrown from Fury’s side, but the last time these two met face-to-face, Wilder failed to muster a single mutterance.
The first fight ended in a barn-storming draw, while Fury decimated Wilder in their rematch last year.
Many believe Saturday’s fight will go the same way, but with Wilder’s power, there’s always a chance the American can pull something special out.

Dynamo, real name Steven Frayne, was in attendance as AJ lost his heavyweight belts to Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
But while the majority of the 65,000 fans in attendance had a great time, Dynamo inadvertently got himself into some bother ringside.
The 5ft 5in entertainer stood on an empty chair as he tried to find a pal of his at the event.
And according to the Mail, a strict security guard rushed over to tell him to get down.
They elaborate that Dynamo tried to explain his situation.
But the guard was having none of it.

Dynamo will have been left even more gutted, when AJ was out-pointed by smaller man Usyk.
The Brit faded as the 12-round bout neared its conclusion, with the scorecards reading 115-113, 116-112, 117-112 in favour of the former cruiserweight king.
Usyk’s win has left Joshua’s hopes of a bumper unification bout with Tyson Fury in tatters – but the 31-year-old will get the opportunity to rematch the Ukrainian next year.
