Tyson Fury checks one fight off retirement bucket list after Wilder KO with Whyte next but Joshua dream in tatters

TYSON FURY’s has successfully ticked off one name from his sensational five-fight ‘bucket list’. The 33-year-old WBC champ missed out on his planned summer showdown with Anthony Joshua after a US judge forced into a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.
Tyson Fury knocked out Deontay Wilder in a thriller in Las Vegas

And the 6ft 9in Gypsy King battered the Bronze Bomber in that trilogy bout – leaving just Dillian Whyte, AJ twice and Derek Chisora on his list.
Fury safely checked off the challenge of Wilder – despite twice being floored in the fourth round.
He dropped the American in the third and the tenth, before finally finishing the job in round eleven in brutal fashion.
Fury outlined his five-fight plan before retirement earlier this year, starting with Wilder.
Next up, according to the plan, would be Dillian Whyte in the UK in December, followed by a 2022 double-header against AJ in Saudi Arabia and Wembley.
Fury then wanted to sign off with a third clash with close friend Chisora.

He said: “I have a bucket list and my next five fights in mind.
“I am going to have a December fight after this, because Joshua won’t happen then, it’ll happen in March.
“It’s Wilder on October 9 – Dillian Whyte in December in a UK stadium where I will shut him up once and for all.
“Then Joshua in March in Saudi Arabia and then a rematch back here in Wembley.
“Then I will fight Chisora in my fifth and final fight.”
Fury seems destined to tick off the 2nd name on his list, with Whyte set to be names his mandatory challenger, and finally land his overdue shot at a world title, should he beat Otto Wallin later this month.
But AJ’s shock loss against Oleksandr Usyk in September has thrown Fury’s plans beyind that into serious doubt.
Joshua is set to take on the Ukrainian in a rematch, meaning a potential all-British battle for the ages against Fury is delayed.
That bout is likely to take place in March 2022 – the same month Fury was hoping to fight AJ.
And if Joshua loses to Usyk for a second time Fury could instead eye a mouthwatering unification bout against the Ukrainian.

Body Snatcher Whyte, 33, has been ranked as the WBC’s No1 challenger since the 2018.
But the Fury vs Wilder rivalry, and the Covid-19 pandemic that delayed this upcoming third instalment, have robbed him of his shot.
Despite simmering bad blood between the pair, Fury insists he will face the Brixton ace but warns him not to try to be greedy at the negotiation table.
“It’s been a long time since I boxed here and I want to do a stadium fight,” Fury said.
“Let’s hope Whyte does not start asking for silly money that doesn’t exist because he will lose the fight.”

Boxer Adrien Broner arrested in Kentucky over outstanding Ohio warrant

BOXER Adrien Broner has been arrested by cops in Kentucky over an outstanding warrant from Ohio. The 32-year-old was hauled into Kenton County Jail by police at around 1am and spent the night in a cell.
Boxer Adrien Broner has been arrested by cops in Kentucky
Officers had a warrant for his arrest as a fugitive from another state.
It’s not clear what the warrant was for, but according to TMZ it could be in relation to a lawsuit he lost in Cuyahoga County about a year ago after a woman claimed he had assaulted her in a nightclub.
Last November, the American fighter was released from jail and given until December to pay £637,000 to the woman he assaulted – with the judge urging him to “stay off Instagram”.
In 2019, Broner pleaded guilty to assault and unlawful restraint after the victim claimed he lay on her and forced his tongue into her mouth in a Cleveland nightclub.
Broner was originally told to pay £637,456 – £384,010 in punitive damages, £192,005 in compensation and £61,441 in legal fees – following his court case.
But Broner – who has held world titles in four weight classes – failed to meet a number of deadlines, set by Cleveland judge Nancy Margaret Russo, to pay up.

The boxing champ filed court documents in October 2020 showing evidence that he was unable to pay as he had just £10 to his name.
But, soon after, Broner flaunted a huge pile of money on Instagram, before sharing a video detailing how much cash he’s spent since 2017.
Broner was sentenced to three days in jail after being held in contempt of court.
Having served his time, Judge Russo was quick to slap Broner with a warning – ordered to pay the £637,456 by December 2020 or face MORE jail-time.

Deontay Wilder’s ex-coach, who was sacked by Bronze Bomber for throwing in towel, breaks silence after Tyson Fury KO

DEONTAY WILDER’S former coach Mark Breland has taken to Instagram after seeing The Bronze Bomber brutally knocked out by Tyson Fury. Breland was acrimoniously sacked by Wilder following the last bout between the pair.

And seemingly had some advice for the Bronze Bomber

He threw in the towel from Wilder’s corner in the seventh round – saving the Bronze Bomber from a savage beating.
But Wilder did not see it that way and parted company with Breeland after suffering his first career loss.
And now the 58-year-old former world champion has taken to social media in cryptic fashion.
In a bizarre video posted to his Instagram account, Breland can be seen shadow boxing.
And he simply captioned the post: “Great fight.”
Fans believe the video could be a message from Breland to Wilder, telling the Bronze Bomber how he should have gone about the fight.

One certainly seemed to think so, commenting: “This is Coach’s way of saying I told you so lol.”
Others also criticised Wilder’s new coach Malik Scott for not throwing in the towel this time around.
A disgruntled fan said: “This is why Deontay needed you no one wanted to call it quits so he got hurt more.”
With his student taking a battering last time out Breland decided enough was enough and correctly – in the eyes of many fans – threw in the towel.
The decision sparked a war of words between the pair in the months that followed.
Wilder even accused Breland of SPIKING his water before he faced off against Fury.
He incredibly told  told 78 Sports TV: “It’s crazy. And I told Jay.
“I told Jay, ‘Man, I believe Mark did something to the water, man. Jay, I can’t believe it. He don’t want to give me the water’ and stuff like that.”

Tyson Fury’s amazing four-year body transformation from alcohol addiction and mental health battle to world’s No1 boxer

TYSON FURY became world boxing’s undisputed No1 when he KO’d Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas this weekend. The Gypsy King looked to be in tip-top shape as he claimed a huge victory in the third and final battle against his American foe.

And looking back at Fury in 2017, it just goes to show how far he’s come.
The 6ft 9in powerhouse tipped the scales at a whopping 28 STONE back then.
Having become world heavyweight champion by beating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, Fury fell into a deep depression that saw him pile on the pounds.
Opening up on his mental health battle, the Brit revealed he was knocking back 20 pints of lager a NIGHT – as well as whiskey and vodka.
Fury also said he had used cocaine, noting in 2016: “They say I’ve got a version of bipolar.
“I’m a manic depressive. I just hope someone kills me before I kill myself.

“I’ve been out drinking, Monday to Friday to Sunday, and taking cocaine.
“I can’t deal with it, and the only thing that helps me is when I get drunk out of my mind.”
As well as the booze and drugs, Fury was also gorging on junk food including pizza, kebabs and chocolate.
And it sadly looked like he was never going to make a return after being stripped of his titles, as well as having his boxing licence suspended.
However, help came in the form of trainer Ben Davidson.
Linking up together in 2017, they began a vigorous exercise programme as Fury set his sights on reclaiming his belts.

And the Gypsy King went on to lose a staggering TEN stone.
Fury stuck to a strict diet that included eggs and bacon and breakfast, as well as PINTS of black coffee.
Other ‘good training fats’ he was allowed to eat were avocados, nuts, cheese, fish and meats.
But chips and other potato variants were off the menu, as well as pasta, cereal, rice, beans, lentils and most fruit.
Speaking at the time, Fury boomed: “I’ve always had a nutritionist and I’ve always had a strength and conditioning coach.
“If I want to train and fight, I do it, and if I don’t want to, I don’t do it.

“A pack of wild horses can’t make me do what I don’t want to do.”
As Fury approached the magic 18 stone mark, he made his ring return with wins over Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta in 2018.
He then capped off a magical year by facing Wilder for the first time with the WBC heavyweight title on the line, with the result a controversial draw.
Sticking to Davidson’s exercise and diet plan, Fury then went on to beat Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin in 2019.
However, fearing he was too LIGHT after securing a rematch against Wilder, Fury replaced Davidson with legendary trainer SugarHill Steward.
Fury revealed he wanted to KO Wilder by being even more powerful.

And Steward had him eating a staggering 5,000 calories a DAY to build muscle and shed more fat.
Nutritionist and chef Greg Lockhart said: “First thing in the morning Tyson is definitely going to have a coffee with his breakfast and what he eats is dictated by the activities of the day.
“But one thing that’s constant every single day is he has: one fish, one chicken, and one red meat throughout the day in each one of his meals.
“It might go up and it might go down but he consumes about 5,000 calories a day.”
The heavyweight king, although looking leaner, came in at over 19 stone for his famous 2020 victory against Wilder.
Fury weighed even more for last night’s third fight at 19 stone 7lbs, but still looked to be in arguably the best shape of his career.

It now remains to be seen who he fights next, with Dillian Whyte being tipped for a shot.
And based on that, Fury will then decide whether to stay the same, put on a few more pounds of muscle or become lighter.
But the fact remains that he is now the No1 of world boxing after an incredible comeback and inspirational journey.

But it was the Brit that was to prevail once again, leaving Wilder and his team to ponder upon what might have been.
Reflecting on last night’s bout, Scott said: “Life goes on, we’ve got to move on. I don’t even want to talk about boxing with him.”
The ESNews interviewer then interjected that Wilder has the ‘biggest heart in boxing’.
To which Scott replied: “I would say this, the biggest heart in sport. Almost the biggest heart in mankind, Deontay Wilder in my opinion is very, very different.
“I’ve never met no one else like him, like I said…”

It was then put to Scott that Wilder is ‘like a brother’ to him, to which he eventually responded: “(It was a) Big fight, tons of emotions. Against a very, very great fighter with a very, very great coach and we almost beat him.
“Just all the emotions in training camp, this was a hell of an experience.”
Scott revealed that Wilder broke his hand and finger during the fight.
And he urged his man to take a prolonged rest from the sport.
He added: “I really don’t want Deontay talking about boxing or doing anything with boxing for quite some time.

“He really never got to rest, he deserved a good rest. I’m gonna make sure he gets it.”
Scott did talk up Oleksandr Usyk as a potential future opponent for Wilder, however, claiming that his man would do ‘ten times better’ against the newly crowned WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champ than Anthony Joshua did.

Fury survived being sent to the canvas TWICE in the fourth round before knocking the Bronze Bomber out in the 11th round of an instant classic.
The win saw the 33-year-old retain his WBA heavyweight belt, while moving to 31-0-1.
And describing his meteoric rise in a manner that only he can, Fury likened himself to the world’s most famous gorilla.
He told 5 Live: “I’m all right you know. I could go another 12 rounds not a problem, fit as a fiddle, healthy as a trout.
“I was listening to what [coach] Sugarhill [Steward] was saying in rounds nine, 10 and 11 and he was like this should be done now, get him out of here and he was like the big dog gets them out of there and that’s what you are meant to do.
“I appreciate all of the support all through the years. I used to be a handsome rogue but now I’m just a bald-headed fat fella who can fight like King Kong.”

Fury was behind on the scorecards at the bout’s halfway point, but took control to secure a memorable victory.

“I’m the best fighter of my era.
“I’m the generation fighter, I actually feel sorry for all these guys who have had to fight me.
“Because I’m in the dressing room at home I’m not nervous – you know it’s a boxing fight to me.

Deontay Wilder would do ‘ten times better’ against Usyk than Anthony Joshua despite Tyson Fury trilogy KO, says trainer

DEONTAY WILDER would do ‘ten times better’ against Oleksandr Usyk than Anthony Joshua did, according to trainer Malik Scott. The Bronze Bomber, 35, suffered an 11th round knockout defeat to Tyson Fury last night, while AJ was comprehensively outboxed by Usyk in a points loss a fortnight ago.

But despite seeing his man fail to win back his WBA heavyweight belt last night, Scott believes that Wilder would be well placed to win more world titles in the future – by beating the Ukrainian WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO champion.
Speaking to ESNews, the Bronze Bomber’s cornerman said: “Usyk and Wilder? I believe it’s a superfight. I believe stylistically Usyk would beat AJ again.
“If AJ could make the necessary adjustments stylistically with his team then I believe it would be a much more competitive fight.
“But I still would give the edge to Usyk… and I’d maybe give him the edge by stoppage – it just depends how AJ would handle the first three rounds as far as positioning.
“But with Deontay, I believe his style would do a whole lot better against Usyk’s than AJ’s style did, ten times better.
“Because I look at it like this – Usyk fought AJ and I keep telling everybody he got bruises and everything which means he was getting hit.”

The interviewer then ominously interjected: “If Deontay hits you…”

He also confirmed that Wilder suffered a broken hand and finger during last night’s gruelling defeat.
And Scott wants his man to take a long break from the sport, adding: “I really don’t want Deontay talking about boxing or doing anything with boxing for quite some time.

Tyson Fury chants ‘Lancashire, la la la’ in the ring after smashing Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas trilogy epic

LANCASHIRE local Tyson Fury delighted fans from his home county after his thrilling victory over Deontay Wilder on Saturday night. After a brutal eleventh round knockout, Fury grabbed a microphone and belted down it: “Lancaster, la la la, Lancashire la la la!”

And wowed fans with his singingCredit: Reuters
Gypsy King Fury was born in Wythenshawe, in south Manchester.
He now lives in Morecambe – in the City of Lancaster district of Lancashire – hence the ‘Lancaster’ and ‘Lancashire’ chants.
Manchester was also historically part of the county of Lancashire, but since 1974 comes under the county of Greater Manchester.
And he gave a nod to his Lancashire roots after a savage knockout blow.
Fury’s football-like chant followed his rendition of ‘Walking in Memphis’ to the 20,000 strong crowd at T-Mobile Arena.
The 33-year-old changed Marc Cohn’s classic to ‘Walking in Vegas’ given the location of the fight.

He also shouted: “Las Vegas, I love you baby!” at the end of his ballad.
It’s not the first time Fury has serenaded fans with a sing-song following a victory on US soil.
The Gypsy King famously sung ‘American Pie’ after his first bout with Wilder back in 2018.
That fight ended in a controversial draw, although Fury to this day claims he won the fight.
There was no debate over the winner yesterday though after Fury’s textbook knockout.
After Wilder took a number of heavy blows Fury revealed he went over to the Bronze Bomber to show him respect, although was immediately rebuffed.
Fury said: “I went over to shake his hand and say well done and he was like ‘No, I don’t respect you’.
“How can you say I’ve cheated when you know in your own heart and full team knows that you just got beat fair and square.
“He’s a sore loser, I’m sure he’s not the first one and he won’t be the last one.”
