Tyson Fury SNUBBED from Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound rankings despite incredible Deontay Wilder KO with Canelo top

TYSON FURY has been snubbed from the Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound rankings despite his epic win over Deontay Wilder.’Gypsy King’ Fury took down Wilder for the second time in their epic trilogy fight in Las Vegas last weekend.

Unbeaten heavyweight champ Tyson Fury pounded Deontay Wilder to another defeat last weekend but still didn’t make the P4P top 10Credit: AP
But that wasn’t enough for the 33-year-old WBC champion to enter the top ten on the Ring Magazine’s list.
The only heavyweight to feature is Oleksandr Usyk, who comes in at No 2 after his dismantling of Anthony Joshua last month.
The Ukrainian wrestled the WBA, IBF and WBO belts from AJ with his unanimous points victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
That victory put the former cruiserweight king and now heavyweight champ behind only Canelo Alvarez on the P4P rankings.
Fury might have to beat Usyk in a mega unification bout before he gets his place in the top ten.
Canelo, meanwhile, is back in the ring next month against Caleb Plant at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The Mexican star, 31, has beaten Avni Yildirim and Billy Joe Saunders this year and is widely regarded as the best boxer on the planet.

No Brits make the P4P list, but four are in Ring Magazine’s top 11 for just heavyweights.
Fury is No1, Joshua third, Dillian Whyte fifth and Joe Joyce 11th.
East European hero Usyk is second in those ratings, with Wilder fourth.
And Fury’s dad John wants his son to take on Usyk next – after saying the Gypsy King had “bigger fish to fry that Whyte”.

Fury Senior told Sky Sports: “If Tyson was out on a regular basis and sharpens his tools properly and gets that ring rust out of the way, nobody can touch Tyson.
“At the minute he’s boxing 50-60 per cent of what he is.
“What’s to stop him from being undisputed, some blown-up cruiserweight from Ukraine?”

Floyd Mayweather beat 15 WORLD CHAMPION boxers in a row before 2017 retirement fight with UFC star Conor McGregor

FLOYD MAYWEATHER beat an incredible 15 world champion boxers in a row before his 2017 retirement fight against Conor McGregor. Mayweather officially called time on his career with a lucrative send off against McGregor, the UFC’s biggest star.
Floyd Mayweather’s 15 world champions beaten consecutively
It saw him retire 50-0 but also for the first time in 15 fights and 12 years, he faced a non-world champion boxer.
The previous time he did so was in January 2005 in an eight-round stoppage win over Puerto Rican Henry Bruseles.
After that, his next 16 fights were all against current or former world champions.
He ended 2005 with wins over Arturo Gatti – his first time on pay-per-view – and Sharmba Mitchell, who formerly held the WBA light-welterweight title.
The following year he beat Zab Judah and Carlos Baldomir to add welterweight titles to his name.
In 2007, Mayweather became boxing’s new top attraction when he beat Oscar De La Hoya and then returned to knock out Ricky Hatton.

After an extended lay-off, and cameo in WWE, the unbeaten American beat Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in his 2009 comeback fight.
For the next three years, Mayweather would fight just once every 12 months, beating Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz and then Miguel Cotto.
Right after his win over Cotto – which he said was his most gruelling ever – a three month prison sentence followed for domestic abuse.
But when Mayweather came out, he was met with a then-record deal with US network Showtime, worth around £150million.
In 2013, he beat Robert Guerrero and Canelo Alvarez, a light-middleweight champ at the time, who is now boxing’s pound-for-pound No1.

Then in 2014 he twice fought Marcos Maidana, winning the first in a close encounter but easing the rematch.
By 2015 the fight boxing fans craved most had finally been agreed, against long-time rival Manny Pacquiao.
But Mayweather made comfortable work of Pacquiao over 12 rounds, selling a Stateside record of 4.6million PPVs.
He then closed out the year – and supposedly his career – with a routine win over Andre Berto, which he insisted would be his final.
But in the period after, McGregor had become a sensation over in the UFC and taken Mayweather’s crown as the planet’s biggest prizefighter.

It led to a money-spinning crossover bout in Las Vegas, which Mayweather won in ten rounds.
Despite surpassing the great Rocky Marciano’s winning streak, it was not the last of multimillionaire, affectionately nicknamed ‘Money’.
Mayweather in 2018 beat Japanese featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in round one of their exhibition in Tokyo.
And this year, in the most bizarre of circumstances he faced YouTuber Logan Paul in a spectacle exhibition.
Mayweather gave away TWO STONE and after failing to score a KO, technically no winner was declared.
The boxing icon has again maintained it was his final time between the ropes, but history has proven not to count out another mega-money return.

Five next opponents for Andy Ruiz Jr ahead of ring return including Dillian Whyte grudge match and Tyson Fury showdown

ANDY RUIZ JR is on the comeback trail to become an unlikely two-time heavyweight champion. Ruiz, 32, stunned Anthony Joshua, 31, in June 2019 to win the WBA, IBF and WBO belts but was beaten in the rematch six months later.

He then linked up with Canelo Alvarez’s esteemed trainer Eddy Reynoso and dramatically cut down in weight.
He beat Chris Arreola, 40, in his comeback fight in May and wants to fight again by December.
Here, SunSport runs down five potential opponents for the Mexican-American
    Tyson Fury
It’s not likely, with Fury, 33, due to fight the winner between Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin at the end of the month.
But if Whyte is beaten and activates his right to an immediate rematch, it leaves the Gypsy King in need of another option.
And outside of Deontay Wilder – who he beat for a second consecutive time – Ruiz is the biggest name out there for him in America.
Ruiz recently said: “That’s exactly the belt I’m waiting for, you know. I got all the belts except the WBC so that’s exactly what I’m praying for.”

    Dillian Whyte
If Whyte, 32, beats Wallin, 30, he will be mandatory for Fury’s WBC title, but if he loses a rematch against the Swede will follow.
But, if either option falls by the wayside, Ruiz is the perfect alternative for the British contender.
The pair were in talks to fight in 2019 but were unable to agree terms and has kept the feud running.
Whyte’s blend of power and with Ruiz’s speed makes for an exciting matchup.

    Luis Ortiz
The Cuban, 42, has long been touted as a potential opponent for former champion Ruiz.
Outside of all the current contenders, Ortiz is the most skilled and notable name.
His only two losses have come against Wilder, and he has previously held talks with Ruiz.
This would be the best option for Ruiz ahead of either a mega-fight or world title challenge.

    Charles Martin
American Martin, 35, rose to fame in 2015 when he won the IBF world title but lost it after a laborious display against AJ.
He has since lost just once in his six fights since defeat to Joshua and is enjoying somewhat of a renaissance in his career.
Again it offers Ruiz a step up in competition before looking to reclaim the heavyweight title with southpaw pair Martin and Ortiz already considered.
He told Fight Hype: “There’s Charles Martin, Luis Ortiz. There’s a lot of guys out there for me. I just gotta stay busy and stay active.”

    Adam Kownacki
Ruiz was targeting New York-based Pole Kownacki, 32, for his return.
But the contender was coming off a loss to Robert Helenius, 37, and the pair recently rematched on Fury and Wilder’s undercard.
Kownacki was again beaten meaning a fight with Ruiz is all-but off the table.
But, if he fancies rolling the dice, a win over Ruiz would catapult him right back into the heavyweight picture.

And The Bronze Bomber plans to get back in the ring as soon his period of ineligibilty is over.
The American’s promoter Shelly Finkel told ESPN: “He’ll fight sometime in the spring or early summer as long as he’s healthy and he’s good and he’s up to it.
“He’s still in pain with the hand and his equilibrium was off, somewhere around the third round (Fury connected behind the ear), that’s why his balance wasn’t the same.
“He feels he trained so hard and then the two incidents — no disrespect at all to Fury — he put in all that effort and wasn’t able to fight him healthy.”
Finkel exclusively revealed to SunSport this week that the 35-year-old is targeting a May return to the squared circle.
He said: “He’s sore but he was OK, he was home yesterday.

“He’s healing and at this point, if everything is OK, after the hand surgery he’ll probably look to enter the ring mid next year, like April or May.”
Wilder was involved in a sour encounter with Fury immediately after their epic trilogy fight, refusing to show his rival any respect.
But the Olympic bronze medallist finally gave the Brit his just dues in a classy Instagram post on Thursday.
He wrote: “Wow, what a hell of a night!
“I would like to first and foremost thank God for allowing me to give the world another part of me that’s driven with passion and determination.
    Deontay Wilder’s manager, Shelly Finkel
“I would like to thank my team and my fans for sticking by my side through this long process.
“I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t disappointed in the outcome but after reflecting on my journey, I now see that what God wanted me to experience is far greater than what I expected to happen.
“We didn’t get the win but a wise man once said the victories are within the lessons. I’ve learned that sometimes you have to lose to win.
“Although, I wanted the win I enjoyed seeing the fans win even more.

“Hopefully, I proved that I am a true Warrior and a true King in this sport.
“Hopefully, WE proved that no matter how hard you get hit with trials and tribulations you can always pick yourself up to live and fight again for what you believe in.

But coach and outspoken dad John wants his son’s next bout to be an undisputed title fight with new unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t want to talk about Whyte, he’s not in Tyson’s class.
“Good luck to the lad, he’ll get his shot, but at the end of the day there’s bigger fish to fry than Whyte.”
John is adamant his son would get the better of slick southpaw Usyk, who ended Anthony Joshua’s second reign as unified champ last month.
He added: “If Tyson was out on a regular basis and sharpens his tools properly and gets that ring rust out of the way, nobody can touch Tyson.
“At the minute he’s boxing 50-60 per cent of what he is.

“What’s to stop him from being undisputed, some blown-up cruiserweight from Ukraine?
“Tyson without ring rust, and a fair run at the job, gives Oleksandr Usyk no chance.
“The cold hard facts of it is, Tyson at this time is unbeatable, he proved it.
“He can get up from the hardest puncher in the world on half-mast, get up and win the fight and take it to him.
“If my son was to listen to me, it’s Usyk or nothing… but he never listens to me anyway so it’s up to Tyson.”
Fury, 33, was seemingly not fussed about unifying the division after his stunning 11th-round KO victory over Deontay Wilder last weekend.
In the post-fight press conference, he said: “We will see, I have just earned a break.

‘They’re cheating, fight’s off!’ – John Fury threatened to call off Klitschko vs Tyson hours before the opening bell

JOHN FURY threatened to cancel his son Tyson’s world title fight against Wladimir Klitschko just hours before the opening bell. When the Fury family arrived to Dusseldorf in Klitschko’s adopted home of Germany in 2015, they immediately checked the ring out in the Esprit Arena.

But they felt the foam in the canvas was too thick and would eliminate Tyson’s ability to move around the ring an utilise his footwork.
Standing firm, they refused to fight until the ring was ripped up and a layer of foam taken out, believing they were being cheated.
The astonishing row was captured on Sky Sports Box Office at the time, as John argued with Klitschko’s manager Bernd Bonte.
John said: “Do you want to call if off now? Fight’s off, come on, let’s go.
“Forget about it, it’s off. It’s off, it’s over, they’re cheating all the way these people. The fight’s off, forget about it.”
Klitschko was even made to re-wrap his hands, as no member of Fury’s team was present while they were being put on.

Eventually, it was Klitschko’s older brother Vitali who settled the dispute.
The former champion made sure the underlay in the ring had been torn up and the canvas re-laid.
In the end, Fury, now 33, went on to bemuse Klitschko, 45, to a stunning win on points, using every bit of the ring to bob and weave.
The pair were signed to a rematch but unfortunately the Gypsy King fell into depression and by 2016 relinquished his belts.
But it paved the way for one of the most remarkable and inspirational comebacks in all of sport.
Fury, who had ballooned up to almost 30 stone, returned to the ring in 2018 and after three fights challenged for Deontay Wilder’s WBC belt.
He was handed only a contentious draw but won the rematch last year, recapturing heavyweight gold five years after his upset over Klitschko.
Fury has since beaten Wilder, 35, again to cement himself as the No1 heavyweight in the world, unbeaten in 32 fights.

But, during Baby Loss Awarness Week, Paris has revealed it ‘hasn’t always been plain sailing’ for the Fury family after her and Tyson tragically lost two babies.
On Instagram, Paris wrote: “The last week has been a whirlwind but I’m so happy to back home in Morecambe with the kids, yes all six of them!
“Even from a young age I always knew I wanted big family – it’s in my bloodline after all as my Granny had eight.

“I know from the outside people see our big family and assume we’ve never struggled to have children.
“But as it’s #BabyLossAwarenessWeek I wanted to share a little bit about our story as it hasn’t always been plain sailing.”

But she claims she did not let him know until after the bout, saying: “I was about eight weeks pregnant. Then on the day of the fight I knew I’d lost our baby.
“I didn’t mention it to Tyson before he went in the ring.
