Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy will be forced to QUIT boxing if he doesn’t KO Jake Paul in four rounds, warns dad John

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren says the £1million bout is expected to take place in either November of December.
And dad John has insisted that Tommy MUST knock Paul out otherwise he will not bother training him anymore.
Speaking on the True Geordie Podcast, he said: “If it’s a close fight Tommy’s retired.
“If Tommy beats him and struggles to beat him, he’s retired from boxing.”
Asked why he feels so strongly, John added: “He [Jake Paul] is a YouTuber. He’s got to be knocking Jake Paul out.
“He’s got to box him and knock him out, he’s a YouTuber. And I’m not wasting my time on people in the gym because I haven’t got a lot of time left at 56-years-old.

“So I’m not going to train with somebody I’ve got no faith in. So I’ve told him, ‘unless you knock him out, pal, forget me with boxing.’ I’ll walk away.”
He continued: “I see Tommy splattering Jake Paul all over the ring, within four to five rounds. If he doesn’t, it’s over for him! He knows that.
“No pressure Tommy lad, but let me tell you, you will be called Tommy Fumbles as well.”
Tommy’s brother Tyson also reckons his career is done if he can’t beat the ex-Disney actor – and will even make him change his name.
He told Behind the Gloves: “If Tommy can’t splatter Jake Paul, I’ll retire him from boxing myself.
“He’s got ambitions of being a world champion, never mind beating some YouTube guy… His name’s Fury. If he can’t beat Jake Paul, I’ll have to change his name.”
Tommy has declared he will destroy the Problem Child should they ever trade blows, insisting his rival won’t fight again inside the squared circle.
He told TMZ Sports: “I will end his boxing career. There is no more Jake Paul after we fight, that’s it.

“Jake Paul gets me nowhere in boxing terms. He’s not a boxer, so beating (him) doesn’t get me a world title shot, it doesn’t get me any respect from any of the other fights.
“Everyone knows what other fighters think of him, so it doesn’t get me anywhere. It’s a good payday, an easy fight, but then I’m going back into the proper boxing world.
“I’m going to win some titles, go down in history, and do what I’ve been doing my whole life.”

Anthony Joshua blasted for ‘poncing around’ against Usyk as Carl Froch tells AJ to axe ‘hangers-on’ ahead of rematch

CARL FROCH hit out at Anthony Joshua for ‘poncing around’ against Oleksandr Usyk and told him to axe anyone ‘hanging around’ in his camp. Joshua surrendered the unified heavyweight crown to Usyk in September and bemused all with his tactical approach.

AJ tried to outsmart the masterful southpaw opposed to using his natural size advantages to bullishly box the Ukrainian.
Froch, 44, used his epic 2012 win against Lucien Bute as an example of how Joshua should fight a slippery southpaw.
And he urged fans not to rule out a comeback win next time around – but only if AJ rips up game plan and gets stuck in.
Froch told YouTube channel Boxing UK: “Now, if you’ve got height and reach and weight advantage on somebody that’s better than you technically, it’s a no-brainer.
“F***ing get on him, ragdoll him, push him back, lean on him, hit him round the body, hit him low, f***ing drop the nut on him if you have to.
“Get the win, don’t sit back, poncing around, flicking the jab out and just waiting and that’s what it was.

“Disappointing performance for AJ, one he can massively improve on, quite easily.
“So you can’t write him off in the rematch but he needs to change his tactics.”
Joshua’s long-time head coach Rob McCracken as well as assistants Joby Clayton and Angel Fernandez were called into question after the loss.
Froch urged AJ to clear out any unwanted opinions in the corner or training camp.
And he insisted McCracken, the man who also guided him to world title glory, is the right man for the job – so long as it is his voice only calling the shots.
Froch said: “I’m hearing there’s going to be big changes with his training team. I don’t know how that’s going to pan out.
“I think Rob McCracken, if he’s listened to and he’s able to do what he does without people interfering, is one of the best trainers in the world.
Get the win, don’t sit back, poncing around, flicking the jab out and just waiting and that’s what it was. Carl Froch on Anthony Joshua
“How many people have you got sticking their head in the corner? How many people are hanging around the changing rooms?
“How many people are in the camp, blowing down AJ’s earhole?
“Rob’s respectful of people, but listen, he’s the boss and he should be the one giving instructions and sometimes I feel like that’s not the case.
“He won’t stay where he’s not wanted but hopefully what AJ realises is he needs to downsize a bit, go back to basics and remember where all his best performances came in.
“When he climbed off the canvas to beat Klitschko, who was in his corner, who was he listening to?
“He lost to Ruiz but then he won the rematch against Ruiz.”

Deontay Wilder’s trainer accuses Floyd Mayweather of firing ‘random shots’ at boxer after praising his former trainer

DEONTAY WILDER’S trainer has hit back at Floyd Mayweather after the legendary boxer appeared to make a subtle dig at the American heavyweight.Wilder got rid of his old trainer Mark Breland after his rematch defeat to Tyson Fury in February 2020 as he was left raging when Breland opted to throw the towel in.

He then linked up with former heavyweight contender Malik Scott for the trilogy clash, which he also lost by stoppage.
And Mayweather seemed to send a message to Wilder via a recent social media post.
He said: “Please hit the follow button if you want to follow a humble student, teacher, mentor, and coach in the sport of boxing.
“He has all the credentials and qualifications to support why I recognize him as an elite boxing coach, something that nowadays many unqualified people claim to be. Follow Mark Breland.”
Responding to the comments, Scott said: “I wouldn’t say he [Mayweather] was talking s*** about me.
“I would say he was taking his usual random shots at Deontay, which indirectly is taking shots at me too since I’m Deontay’s head trainer, so it’s whatever.

“But what’s even more funny is Mark Breland has been a known legend for decades, but all of a sudden Floyd posts him with praise coincidentally a week after we lose to Fury.
“But then to make it even funnier, Mark Breland has never really liked Floyd anyway.
“On numerous occasions personally and publicly he’s always called Floyd an overrated big mouth that would have not stood a chance in his era.

Five opponents for Tyson Fury if boxing champ switches to MMA including Francis Ngannou grudge match and Stipe Miocic

JOHN FURY has tipped son Tyson to make a switch to MMA once he quits boxing – opening the door to some mouthwatering match-ups.Fury has teased on several occasions about debuting in MMA but more recently said he would only fight in a cage if there was no takedowns or grappling.
Tyson Fury with UFC middleweight Darren Till
Nonetheless, his dad told Joe: “He’s quick and he’s light on his feet, but his balance is good and I do believe if a top MMA trainer took him on, he could do big things with him.”
With that said, here SunSport looks at five potential opponents if the WBC champion, 33, was to cross over to the cage.
    Francis Ngannou
Ngannou, 35, is most likely to fight Fury in the boxing ring after confirming his interest in switching sports.
He first dreamed of becoming a boxer aged 22 before he moved to France but took up MMA as it was easier to find fights.
But even as UFC champion, Ngannou is talking up a move to boxing having also called out Anthony Joshua, 32, and Dillian Whyte, 33.
UFC president Dana White might have something to say about, that citing contractual obligations, meaning Fury may be welcomed to the UFC instead.

    Stipe Miocic
Former UFC champ Miocic, 39, was an accomplished amateur boxer which has helped shape his style in MMA.
Again, he has spoken about one day testing himself in the ring with Fury mentioned as a challenge.
If Fury was to jump in the deep end in the UFC, Miocic next to Ngannou would be his biggest test.
He once said in April 2020: “Stipe says he wants to box me — that would be a good fight for sure.”

    Junior dos Santos
The Brazilian has now been released by the UFC and wants to close out his career with big crossover bouts.
Dos Santos, 37,was known for his boxing skills and called for a two-fight deal with Fury, one in the ring and the other in a cage.
He said in 2019: “It would be perfect to fight Tyson Fury in MMA, as he wishes, and then, with a win over him, fight him in boxing, in his world.
“He would come to my world and then I would go to his world. It would be the pinnacle, a great moment for both sports.”

    Ryan Bader
Bellator have proved open to mixing MMA and boxing, unlike competitors like UFC.
Bader, 38, is their current champ, a big name in the promotion and recently talked up a fight Fury.
He told FightHype last year: “You train with him to fight, or whatever, boxing, MMA, I’m always down.”
Bader also confirmed he would be open to doing it in the ring, saying: “Hell yeah, let’s go. Get the boxing money.”
    Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader
    Greg Hardy
Hardy, 33, has had 12 MMA fights since leaving the NFL amid allegations of domestic abuse.
He has a current record of 7–4 with one no-contest but his UFC future is in question after consecutive losses.
Hardy has proven to have KO power but lacks quality on the ground or in wrestling clinches.
It means he could match up evenly with Fury if he chose to stand and strike, like has been the case in his previous fights.

Police were called after the Irishman allegedly got into the scuffle with musician Facchinetti while the two attended an event at the St Regis hotel in Rome.
YouTube star-turned boxer Paul, who once offered McGregor $50million to fight in the past, was quick to take aim at the alleged incident.
He tweeted: “Conor likes to play tough guy with musicians… Conor PLEASE try and do something when you see me !!”
McGregor, 33, and his partner Dee Devlin have been in Italy over the last few days for the christening of their youngest child Rian in the Vatican.
But the trip faces ending on a low note as both Facchinetti, 41, and his wife Wilma Faissol, 39, made the allegations to their nearly 1.5million combined followers on Instagram.
Facchinetti posted a video recounting the alleged incident and showed off cuts on both of his lips.

Wilma also shared a series of Instagram stories accusing the fighter of attacking her husband, and fearing he could have been killed.
It remains unclear what triggered the alleged melee but SunSport contacted McGregor’s team for comment on the alleged confrontation.
Italian Police confirmed to us they were called to the scene at 5.30am after an incident had taken place.
McGregor was not spoken to by the police, but he “may be in coming days” as the DJ plans to file a formal complaint in his home city of Milan.
Facchinetti, who is also a TV and radio personality in Italy, told his one million followers on Instagram: “I could be silent but someone like him who pulls a punch, think what could happen.”
He went on that “real fighters don’t behave like that” and accused the Irish star of punching him “for no reason”.
“Conor likes to play tough guy with musicians… Conor PLEASE try and do something when you see meJake Paul’s tweet to Conor McGregor
The DJ added: “We welcomed him as a hero and instead he’s just a bully of the worst kind … what a disappointment … I feel sorry for him, he has everything but he has nothing …
“He must be stopped because he is dangerous for others. Now I understand why he had 20 bodyguards. Not to defend him from others, but to defend others from him.”
Also taking to Instagram, Wilma posted to her more than 477,000 followers accusing McGregor.
“He could have killed him, he split his lips and nose,” she said.
Wilma claimed that McGregor’s bodyguards had to hold the lightweight fighter back as he “wanted to keep beating Francis”.
She claimed McGregor’s team gave them hankies to clean up the blood before the couple were then told to leave through the side door of the hotel.
    NOTORIOUS PAST
“I was crying, I was shaking, we called the police and ambulance,” Wilma added.
McGregor previously got into trouble for punching a man at The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin back in August 2019.
The ex-UFC champion allegedly hit Desmond Keogh, 50, after the older man had declined to drink a shot of whiskey.
He was convicted of assault and ordered to pay a fine of £860 – and then later went on to spend £1.75million buying the pub.
McGregor last fought in July against Dustin Poirier, 32, the man he initially beat in 2014 by was knocked out by in their January rematch.
In the trilogy bout at UFC 264, disaster struck for McGregor as he suffered a brutal leg break seconds before the end of round one, then losing by doctor stoppage.
He remained in America for surgery in Los Angeles where he continued his rehabilitation process before taking a holiday in Europe with his family.

Tyson Fury and his family would ‘batter’ Tommy and ‘retire him from boxing’ if Love Island star lost to Jake Paul

JOHN FURY said son Tyson and his brothers would ‘batter’ Tommy and ‘retire him from boxing’ if the Love Island star lost to Jake Paul. Tommy, the half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson, is in talks to fight YouTube boxing sensation Paul.

His dad and trainer John revealed talks are progressing well and is left in no doubt his son makes easy work of the social media star.
But he warned if Tommy suffered a disastrous defeat, it would come with brutal consequences.
John told GiveMeSport: “We’re nearly there with the business side of it with Jake Paul.
“They’re being greedy, but like I say, we know our worth, we want as much as we can out of this job.
“But we’re nearly there, this fight is going to happen, we’re 99.9 per cent of the way there.
“It’s almost done, we’ve just got a few T’s to cross and I’s to dot and we’re nearly there over the line, but it will happen.

“Will Tommy beat Jake Paul? Absolutely. He’s a silly man because believe me, like Jake Paul is saying, if Tommy lost to Jake Paul, he would have to change his name to ‘Tommy Fumbles’.
“Plus Tyson would batter him, Hughie would batter him, Shane would batter him, and we would retire him from boxing there and then, so there’s no pressure really!”
Tommy, 22, admitted he rejected two deals to fight Paul, 24, believing he was being lowballed.
But hope was not lost and talks continued, with Paul even adding an extra wager for the loser.
He will have to pay Fury an additional $500,000 if he loses, but should he win, the light-heavyweight would have to change his surname to ‘Fumbles’.
The deal was accepted and promoter Warren confirmed talks are heading in the right direction for a fight by the year’s end.
Warren told iFL TV: “At the moment we’re working through the terms, we’re quite close and I’m hoping we can get it over the line.
Tyson would batter him, Hughie would batter him, Shane would batter him, and we would retire him from boxing there and then, so there’s no pressure really!”John Fury on what would happen if Tommy lost to Jake Paul
“It’s a great fight for Tommy. It’s a very lucrative fight for him. Financially, how can you turn that down?
“I think he wins it. It’s captured everyone’s imagination, it’s all they were talking about out in the States.
“Hopefully, we will finish it off this week and we can move forward. It’ll be in late November, December.”
Paul only turned pro in January 2020 and did so with a stoppage in the first round against online rival ‘AnEsonGib’.
He then knocked out ex-NBA star Nate Robinson and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, both 37.
But his biggest win to date came in August against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, on points over eight rounds.
On the undercard, Tommy beat Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor, 32, in what was a successful Stateside debut.

Five things Anthony Joshua could do while touring US gyms including spar Andy Ruiz Jr and sign up new coach for Usyk

ANTHONY JOSHUA has given himself some thinking time while enjoying a break in America. The former heavyweight champion is having some time off Stateside after his recent defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in September.
Anthony Joshua while on holiday in AmericaCredit: Instagram @anthonyjoshua
But AJ is always a man on a mission and ever-evolving, so he could use the trip to his advantage as he prepares to rematch Usyk next year.
Here SunSport runs down how Joshua can make the most of his time abroad.
    Masterclass from Canelo Alvarez
AJ was recently pictured visiting the Mexican superstar’s gym at Canelo’s adopted US training base in San Diego.
And he would be a fool not to pick the brains of the four-division champ, who turned professional when he was just 15.
Canelo is known to be generous with his knowledge, often taking protégé Ryan Garcia to the side for tactical pointers.
Joshua has always welcomed advice and who better to listen to than the pound-for-pound No1?

    Recruit an additional coach
Joshua’s training team was called into question right after his loss to Usyk in London.
But he remained loyal to head trainer Rob McCracken after defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 and it paid off as they avenged the result.
There is no suggestion AJ will change camps, but he did bring in additional eyes in Joby Clayton and Angel Fernandez before rematching Ruiz.
And he could do so again and return from the US with an experienced cornerman to help McCracken in camp.
    Sparring some rivals
America is a hot-bed for quality sparring and it could force AJ out of his comfort zone and re-find some of that bullish boxing that took him to stardom.
Unfortunately, finding southpaw sparring is a rarity and America does not offer that much.
Ex-opponent Ruiz is an alternative due to his speed, but is orthodox and does not posses the same speed as Usyk, so Cuban Luis Ortiz, who resides in Las Vegas, is AJ’s best bet.
The Brit has formerly tried to spar Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, meaning he is not afraid to mix it in with his rivals behind-closed-doors.

    Find a new training base
Joshua has set up shop in Sheffield’s state of the art Team GB base for the last few years, the same place before he won gold in London.
If he stays with McCracken as expected, it is unlikely AJ will relocate, but if he does decide on a change of scenery, America could be the place for it.
Fury has completely re-invented himself since residing in Vegas with new coach Sugarhill Steward – nephew to the legendary Emanuel.
And AJ could do with some school of hard knocks attitude for his rematch with Usyk and take a leaf out of Fury’s book after two big wins over Wilder.

    Switch off from boxing
Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed Joshua is ‘obsessed’ with putting the wrong right against Usyk.
But that kind of obsession could potentially cause some stress for the beaten 2012 Olympic gold medallist.
And with a rematch targeted for the first few months of 2022, it gives AJ plenty of time before he needs to get into fight mode and start serious training.
Having some time to himself and relaxing may help Joshua clear his head a bit and freshen things up.

Anthony Joshua touring US gyms and links up with Canelo Alvarez amid calls to sack boxing coach

And he was pictured linking up with Canelo in the Mexican’s adopted US training base in San Diego where he resides with cornerman and manager Eddy Reynoso.
Their promoter Eddie Hearn was also present with the four-division champion, 31, preparing to fight Caleb Plant, 29, on November 6.
AJ also paid a trip to see Joshua Buatsi – who he manages – at the light-heavyweight’s camp with Virgil Hunter in Los Angeles.
Following Joshua’s 12 round decision loss to Usyk, 34, he faced calls to replace his training team.
But those same doubts were raised when he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019, before brilliantly winning the rematch six months later.
His loyalty was rewarded when he reclaimed the WBA, IBF and WBO belts after smartly switching tactics to outbox Ruiz, 32.

And there is no suggestion Joshua, 32, will part ways with trusted coach Rob McCracken, who had twice led him to unified titles as well as Olympic gold.
But AJ did bring in two additional trainers in Angel Fernandez and Joby Clayton before avenging defeat to Ruiz.
Gaining some knowledge from coaches in America can only be a good thing before Joshua prepares to fight Usyk once more.
He has officially invoked his right to an immediate rematch, Hearn confirmed, with a target date of March or April.
And the promoter did not rule out new faces in the training team in order to become the first to figure out the Usyk puzzle, who is unbeaten in 19 fights.
AJ will always look at his preparation and see how he can improve. If that’s changing things up, looking at bringing people in, or whatever he’s got to do, he will do that.Promoter Eddie Hearn
Hearn told Boxing Social: “I think what AJ will wanna do is analyse why he performed like that.
“Yeah, the tactics weren’t right, he underperformed, but why?
“It’s difficult just to say, ‘He didn’t get the tactics right and he underperformed,’ because let’s talk about the brilliance of Usyk as well.
