Mike Tyson says next fight in February will be ‘really stimulating’ amid claims it could be Logan or Jake Paul

MIKE TYSON has revealed his next comeback fight will be in February – against a ‘really stimulating’ opponent. The heavyweight legend, 55, made a remarkable ring return in November, for an eight-round exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr.

Tyson drew with fellow American icon Jones, 52, but insisted it was not the last boxing fans will see of him in a ring.
And in an exclusive interview with The Sun, Iron Mike opened up about who he could fight next, amid claims it could be either Logan or Jake Paul.
Tyson said: “I am going to have a return fight in February and we are pretty skeptical about the opponent, but it will be a really stimulating opponent.”
The youngest heavyweight champion of all time has formed a friendship with Jake, 24, the younger of the Paul brothers.
He even had the YouTube sensation fight on the undercard of his comeback, which resulted in ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37 getting knocked out.
Tyson recently said he could KO 4-0 boxer Jake ‘so f***ing easy’ but would NEVER do so, as his family ‘love’ the social media influencer.

Older brother Logan, 26, however, who took Floyd Mayweather, 44, the distance in their exhibition in June, has welcomed a fight with Iron Mike.
Tyson opened up on his plans to fight again at the unveiling of a statue of himself erected outside the Mulberry Pizzeria restaurant in Las Vegas.
The statue was erected by Resorts World President Scott Sibella and restaurateur Richie Palmer as a tribute to his close friend.
Palmer, owner and founder of Mulberry Pizzeria, said: “It’s important because we’ve been friends for 35 years.
“It was my way to honour him and have a tribute to him because people don’t know what a great, great, great human being he is.
I am going to have a return fight in February and we are pretty skeptical about the opponent but it will be a really stimulating opponentMike Tyson
“Generous to a fault. Kind. He will never say no to anyone for a picture. People don’t get that.
“All they see is the ferociousness, the craziness, the bad moments. They don’t see what a genuinely wonderful person he is.”
Tyson said the statue was a stunning surprise.
He stated: ” I had no idea… I am very humbled right now. I am truly grateful.”
Tyson also revealed he was unaware that this year marks the 35th anniversary of him becoming the youngest heavyweight champion aged 20.
He said: “To be honest I don’t remember that night and most of my boxing career is a blur. And so I live this life now.”

Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant: UK start time, date, live stream, TV channel, undercard for big super-middleweight fight

CANELO ALAVREZ returns to the ring against Caleb Plant in a massive super-middleweight undisputed title fight in just over a two weeks’ time.Alvarez was last in action back in May, when he TKO’d Billy Joe Saunders in the 8th round of their title clash in Texas.
Canelo Alvarez added the WBO title to his collection in MayCredit: Reuters
Plant has had to wait a little longer for this fight, having not fought since January, when he outpointed Caleb Truax.
The Nashville fighter won his first world title in 2019, beating Venezuelan Jose Uzcategui, and has since defended it three times.
Alvarez is on a hot streak of wins following his draw with Gennady Golovkin back in 2017.
He’s since beaten Golovkin, Rocky Fielding, Daniel Jacobs, Sergey Kovalev, Callum Smith, Avni Yildirim and Saunders, becoming a four-weight world champion in the process.
Plant’s IBF title at 168lbs represents the final piece of Alvarez’s jigsaw, which could see the Mexican crowned as his country’s first ever undisputed champion.
Alvarez and Plant had originally planned to clash back in September, but negotiations fell through before a solution was found weeks later.
The fight will be held on Showtime pay-per-view in the U.S., which will be the first time Alvarez hasn’t fought on DAZN stateside since 2018.
A win for either fighter would crown the second undisputed champion in 2021, after Josh Taylor picked up all the belts at 140lbs in his win over Jose Ramirez back in May.
    When is Canelo vs Plant?

Canelo Alvarez’s big fight with Caleb Plant will take place on Saturday, November 6.
The fight will emanate from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
There should be close to 15,000 fans in attendance at the huge event.
Canelo vs Plant will get underway in the early hours of Sunday, November 7 for fans in the UK, with ring-walks set for around 4am GMT.

What channel is it and can it be live streamed?

Alvarez’s clash with Plant will be shown live on BT Sport Box Office in the UK.
You can live stream the action from the BT Sport Box Office app, which is available for download onto your mobile or tablet device.
The event will set you back £19.95.

    Canelo vs Plant FULL CARD

Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant – super-middleweight
Anthony Dirrell vs Marcos Hernandez – super-middleweight
Rey Vargas vs Leonardo Baez – super bantamweight
Elvis Rodriguez vs Juan Pablo Romero – super-lightweight

    What has been said?
Alvarez said: “You are not on my level and you will see on November 6. You don’t want to fight now, I promise you.
“We come from nothing and we worked hard to be here. For somebody to lie and talk trash about us, that upset Eddy. It is what it is though. We just have to show everyone who we are on November 6.
“Caleb might be on the same level as Saunders and Smith, but he’s not on my level. I respect that he isn’t here to back down. You can see from today that this is definitely going to be a good fight.”
Plant said: “I know only one thing better than proving people right, and that’s proving people wrong. I’ve been doing that my whole life. As soon as I stepped on the stage, people started talking about what I can’t accomplish and what I can’t do.
“Where I come from, there is no boxing community. There was no other pro I could look to and say that if he can do it, then I can do it. All I had was my mind and my heart.
“I don’t do this to be famous or to get attention. When I first started, it was just me and my dad. No one thought I’d be standing here today.”

Who could Canelo Alvarez fight after Caleb Plant?
Assuming Alvarez beats Plant and ends his streak with all four 168lbs belts in his grasp, the opportunities to have mega-fights from thereon would be near endless.
Alvarez is a huge star in the U.S. and Mexico and can continue to fight on pay-per-view, as a free agent, for the rest of his career, if he wanted.
If Alvarez were to stick around with PBC and Showtime for a while, a big-money fight with Jermall Charlo, the current WBC middleweight champion, would make sense.
There’s also former champion at super-middleweight and rising star David Benavidez to possibly contend with.
With DAZN, however, there’s still a potential trilogy fight with Golovkin to explore, with the Kazakh fighter still feeling begrudged about the results in their first two fights.
Otherwise Alvarez could revisit the light-heavyweight division, where’s previously been the WBO champion after beating Kovalev in 2019.
Current WBC and IBF champ Artur Beterbiev would arguably represent the toughest test of Alvarez’s career, as he boasts a menacing 100% KO ratio, the only titleholder in boxing to have that under his belt.
Or there’s WBA champion Dimitry Bivol, a route that seems the more likely, given his relationship with promoter Eddie Hearn, whom Alvarez is closely aligned with. More

Adams was paired with Katya Jones until the professional dancer tested positive for Covid – ruling them out of the competition.
Baig describes that period as one of the worst of her life, as it came during a national lockdown.
She told The Sun: “Nicki (Adams) would be training all day then come home, chill and sleep. I would try to keep busy in the house, tidying up, cleaning and trying to shoot content. But mostly I was just watching TV.
“I started feeling really down and having panic attacks, where my heart was racing and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I had dark thoughts.
“There was another national lockdown, restaurants and hair salons were all closed and as I was in a bubble with Nicki and Katya I wasn’t allowed to go out and see anyone.
“We were apart for two months (after moving back to Leeds) and it was a hard decision not to see Nicki for that long but you have to put your health first. It was one of the worst periods of my life.”

He was hopeful of fighting again in September but has been made to wait until next year.

Logan Paul, 26, certainly has a history of attracting attention to his fights, selling out the Manchester Arena for his first fight with KSI.
The rematch also sold more PPVs than Anthony Joshua’s first fight against Andy Ruiz Jr.
And he has proven he could be a match for Tyson in the ring, having held his own against Floyd Mayweather in June.
Unlike Mayweather, Tyson fought at heavyweight in his career and is more than two stone heavier than the Youtuber.
But Paul does have age on his side, and is 29 years younger than Iron Mike.

A win could have seen the Swede pinch Whyte’s spot as WBC mandatory challenger to champion Tyson Fury.
It is understood that they will now try and rearrange the bout as soon as possible after the Body Snatcher pulled out with a shoulder injury.
But Whyte could bypass Wallin and face Fury next instead.
Upset Wallin, 30, has called on Whyte’s injury to be checked, telling Seconds Out Boxing: “They have the right to withdraw from the fight if he’s injured, but they’ve gotta prove the injury.
“I’m not saying it’s not real, but please have an independent doctor look at him so we can all know.”
He then added: “I’m here to fight him, I wanna fight him. He’s been given a lot of credit for fighting tough guys, now he’s gotta be true to his word.”

On his injury, Whyte admitted: “I am devastated as I had a great camp, and had great sparring.
“I was looking forward to knocking Wallin out and would have done so in the first half of the fight.
“I am devastated about not being able to fight on October 30 but I want to thank everyone for all of their support.”
It would not be fair to the sport of boxing for Dillian Whyte to have an injury, whatever it is, and as a result of that, to be able to be mandated to fight FuryDmitriy Salita
Wallin’s promoter Dmitriy Salita said: “It’s very disappointing. If it is an injury, then he should heal, and they should reschedule this event. That would be the fair thing to do.
“It would not be fair to the sport of boxing for Dillian Whyte to have an injury, whatever it is, and as a result of that, to be able to be mandated to fight Fury.
“Otto is ready to go to the UK today. He had a complete training camp and this fight guarantees a lot of attention and it was truly the right eliminator for the fight with Fury.
“The fight has to be rescheduled for a later date and the winner of that fight should fight Tyson Fury. Anything else would be unfair to the sport of boxing, and unfair to Otto Wallin.
“We’re definitely going to petition the WBC to make a decision.
“That’s what should be decided – the winner of Whyte-Wallin fights Tyson Fury.
“The WBC will pass what I feel is an important decision, which should set things right.”
SunSport understands that Alen Babic, 30, offered to step in and fight Wallin only to be turned down.

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury: How boxers match up ahead of super-fight between YouTuber and Love Island star

JAKE PAUL vs Tommy Fury is set to go ahead on December 18 in Miami.Fury beat Anthony Taylor in four rounds on Paul’s undercard in August and the pair were trading insults before the night was over.

Paul beat Tyron Woodley via split decision in Ohio.
The judges scored it 77-75, 79-74, 75-77 in Paul’s favour.
And focus soon switched to who the 24-year-old YouTuber would fight next.
The two have been going back-and-forth relentlessly online in recent months but talks progressed behind the scenes.
And despite recent bumps in the road, SunSport understands a deal is over the line for a Christmas cracker.
Online personality Paul initially hinted he would duck the Fury fight and take a break from boxing.

But soon after he was clashing with the Brit backstage and calling for the fight to be staged.
Negotiations soon followed but Fury publicly admitted he turned two offers down, believing he had been lowballed.
Paul’s effort to bump up the deal to $1million, plus additional pay-per-view upsides, were also knocked back.
But Fury’s promoter Frank Warren recently confirmed talks were heading in the right direction, as he grew confident a deal would be met.
So how do the potential rivals compare?
Paul turned 24 in January and is more than two years older than his British counterpart, who celebrated his 22nd birthday in May.
Both fighters have unblemished records – Fury is 7-0 and Paul is 4-0.
Of Fury’s seven wins, four have been by KO, while three of Paul’s four finished inside the distance.
Both fight with an orthodox stance – 6ft 1in Paul is an inch taller than Fury but ‘TNT’ has the longer reach, 80ins to 76ins.
Jake Paul has won all of his professional boxing bouts via knockout
The big one, though, is the Instagram followers and who would have the bigger fan base behind them cheering on from home.
Reality TV sensation Fury boasts an impressive 3.7m.
But ‘The Problem Child’ – younger brother of fellow YouTuber Logan – blows his rival out of the water with a whopping 17.5m.

Anthony Joshua rematch with Oleksandr Usyk ‘realistic’ for March as Eddie Hearn reveals UK is frontrunner to host fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA and Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch is ‘realistic’ for March as Eddie Hearn revealed the UK is leading the race to host the fight. Joshua, 32, was beaten in September by Usyk, 34, and surrendered the unified WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles.

But the defiant British superstar invoked his right to an immediate rematch as he looks to again reclaim his throne.
Hearn is set to start talks with Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk in the coming weeks and believes the pair will fight in the UK once more.
He told iFL TV: “I think March is realistic, yeah March, around March.”
Asked if the UK is the frontrunner to host, Hearn replied: “I think so yeah, I’d like to do it back in the UK.
“Like I say, we’ve had approaches, offers, it’s a huge fight and there will be a lot of people wanting to stage it.
“But I would like to do it back in the UK.”

After Joshua suffered his first career defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019, he brilliantly boxed his way to revenge in Saudi Arabia six months later.
He stayed loyal to head coach Rob McCracken, despite calls to change is approach.
And the same questions have been asked again following AJ’s latest setback, which has left his coaching situation up in the air.
Speculation only heightened with pictures revealing Joshua in several US-based gyms as he joined Hearn in America to enjoy some downtime.
He visited Canelo’s esteemed coach Eddy Reynoso, Joshua Buatsi’s trainer Virgil Hunter, Mike Tyson’s ex-cornerman Ronnie Shields and also Robert Garcia.
But Hearn did not confirm whether Joshua was looking to replace McCracken – the man who led him to Olympic gold in 2012 – or just seeking advice.
He told iFL TV: “I think March is realistic, yeah March, around March… I’d like to do it back in the UK. Eddie Hearn on Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk
He said: “The speculation’s been unbelievable, hasn’t it?
“He came out with me to the States, he wanted to have a chill, he wanted to go and travel around. He wanted to see gyms, he wanted to speak to people.
“You know he’s a guy that loves to absorb knowledge and he went to see a number of gyms and fighters and trainers.
“He hasn’t split from Rob McCracken, he hasn’t decided that he’s going to join another trainer.
“I think he’s just trying to learn, he’s trying to look at his setup, trying to look at ways to improve and he’s working.
“He’s out there, putting the work in now everyday getting ready for the rematch.
“And I’ve never seen him so focussed for a fight, for a rematch and he just wants to get it 100 per cent right. He knows he must win this fight.”
