Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant: UK start time, date, live stream, TV channel, undercard for HUGE super-middleweight fight

CANELO ALAVREZ returns to the ring against Caleb Plant in a massive super-middleweight undisputed title fight.Alvarez was last in action back in May, when he TKO’d Billy Joe Saunders in the 8th round of their title clash in Texas.

Plant has had to wait a little longer for this fight, having not fought since January, when he outpointed Caleb Truax.
The Nashville fighter won his first world title in 2019, beating Venezuelan Jose Uzcategui, and has since defended it three times.
Alvarez is on a hot streak of wins following his draw with Gennady Golovkin back in 2017.
He’s since beaten Golovkin, Rocky Fielding, Daniel Jacobs, Sergey Kovalev, Callum Smith, Avni Yildirim and Saunders, becoming a four-weight world champion in the process.
Plant’s IBF title at 168lbs represents the final piece of Alvarez’s jigsaw, which could see the Mexican crowned as his country’s first ever undisputed champion.
Alvarez and Plant had originally planned to clash back in September, but negotiations fell through before a solution was found weeks later.
The fight will be held on Showtime pay-per-view in the U.S., which will be the first time Alvarez hasn’t fought on DAZN stateside since 2018.
A win for either fighter would crown the second undisputed champion in 2021, after Josh Taylor picked up all the belts at 140lbs in his win over Jose Ramirez back in May.
    When is Canelo vs Plant?

Canelo Alvarez’s big fight with Caleb Plant will take place on Saturday, November 6.
The fight will emanate from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
There should be close to 15,000 fans in attendance at the huge event.
Canelo vs Plant will get underway in the early hours of Sunday, November 7 for fans in the UK, with ring-walks set for around 4am GMT.

What channel is it and can it be live streamed?

Alvarez’s clash with Plant will be shown live on BT Sport Box Office in the UK.
You can live stream the action from the BT Sport Box Office app, which is available for download onto your mobile or tablet device.
The event will set you back £19.95.

    Canelo vs Plant FULL CARD

Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant – super-middleweight
Anthony Dirrell vs Marcos Hernandez – super-middleweight
Rey Vargas vs Leonardo Baez – super bantamweight
Elvis Rodriguez vs Juan Pablo Romero – super-lightweight

    What has been said?
Alvarez said: “You are not on my level and you will see on November 6. You don’t want to fight now, I promise you.
“We come from nothing and we worked hard to be here. For somebody to lie and talk trash about us, that upset Eddy. It is what it is though. We just have to show everyone who we are on November 6.
“Caleb might be on the same level as Saunders and Smith, but he’s not on my level. I respect that he isn’t here to back down. You can see from today that this is definitely going to be a good fight.”
Plant said: “I know only one thing better than proving people right, and that’s proving people wrong. I’ve been doing that my whole life. As soon as I stepped on the stage, people started talking about what I can’t accomplish and what I can’t do.
“Where I come from, there is no boxing community. There was no other pro I could look to and say that if he can do it, then I can do it. All I had was my mind and my heart.
“I don’t do this to be famous or to get attention. When I first started, it was just me and my dad. No one thought I’d be standing here today.”

Who could Canelo Alvarez fight after Caleb Plant?
Assuming Alvarez beats Plant and ends his streak with all four 168lbs belts in his grasp, the opportunities to have mega-fights from thereon would be near endless.
Alvarez is a huge star in the U.S. and Mexico and can continue to fight on pay-per-view, as a free agent, for the rest of his career, if he wanted.
If Alvarez were to stick around with PBC and Showtime for a while, a big-money fight with Jermall Charlo, the current WBC middleweight champion, would make sense.
There’s also former champion at super-middleweight and rising star David Benavidez to possibly contend with.
With DAZN, however, there’s still a potential trilogy fight with Golovkin to explore, with the Kazakh fighter still feeling begrudged about the results in their first two fights.
Otherwise Alvarez could revisit the light-heavyweight division, where’s previously been the WBO champion after beating Kovalev in 2019.
Current WBC and IBF champ Artur Beterbiev would arguably represent the toughest test of Alvarez’s career, as he boasts a menacing 100% KO ratio, the only titleholder in boxing to have that under his belt.
Or there’s WBA champion Dimitry Bivol, a route that seems the more likely, given his relationship with promoter Eddie Hearn, whom Alvarez is closely aligned with. More

The 24-year-old had fired a great deal of trash talk Herring’s way during the build-up to the fight.
But the pair hugged it out in the dressing room after going to war as they showed mutual respect for one another.
And Stevenson took the time to apologise to his wife Jennifer by saying: “Sorry to you. Sorry, I know you’re mad at me. Sorry to you, I apologise.”
However, Jennifer did not seem to take it well as she stared down the two-weight world champion in an awkward exchange.
Speaking on social media after the clip came out, she said: “Congratulations to @ShakurStevenson thank you for apologizing but don’t try that mess again!
“Don’t be a bad boy to sell a fight! Your talent will sell for you!

“Make me proud and stay humble! Hold on tight to that belt love!”
Reacting to the clip, one social media user said: “Lol why she mad. Ya husband fights for a living, sometimes he gone get his a** beat. I love how the other guy have him respect and props.”
But another agreed with Jennifer’s reaction, adding: “I don’t blame her. Shakur is fake as with this bulls*** and she’s having none of it.”
Stevenson is one of the best young fighters in the world having already won world titles at 126 and 130lbs.

‘Well that escalated quickly’ – Eubank Jr reacts after £66k eBay bid on signed microwave.. which he promised to match

CHRIS EUBANK Jr is on the verge of handing over more than £66,000 to charity after a microwave he signed in Newcastle went up for sale on eBay.The middleweight boxer promised to match whatever the kitchen appliance sold for – and this morning it had reached a hefty amount.

The boxer could barely believe a fan wanted him to sign the kitchen appliance
Chris Eubank Jr shared the eBay listing of the microwave he signed – it appears to have been sold for more than £66,000Credit: Twitter @ChrisEubankJr
Unsurprisingly, Eubank Jr was shocked at how things had snowballed, writing on Twitter: “Well that escalated quickly.”
The listing is no longer available, presumably because the auction has ended.
After attending a press conference last Thursday at St James’ Park for his fight against Wanik Awdijan, he took a stroll through Newcastle.
But after stopping for a number of selfies and the odd autograph, one plucky lad ran up to him carrying the kitchen appliance and bizarrely requested the signature.
The Geordie man, in a black jacket and black cap, provided the Sharpie pen ready and deadpan said: “It’s the only thing I’ve got.”
Eubank Jr could not believe his eyes and initially said: “Nah, not the microwave!”

But then the Sussex scrapper handed over his bag, stayed cool as a cucumber and put pen to plastic.
The microwave attracted a huge amount of interest since it hit the auction website.
The owner added: “Signed microwave by Chris Eubank Jr – signed in Newcastle.
“This is the most famous microwave in the UK.”
The middleweight boxer shared the listing on Twitter, writing: “Been sent a link to an eBay auction thats selling the microwave I signed in Newcastle.
“No idea how much it’ll go for but to make this a more meaningful situation whatever the winning bid is I’ll match it & give the money to a charity of the winners choice.”
Eubank Jr battered Awdijan into submission at the weekend – the German-Armenian pulling the plug on their fight after just five one-sided rounds, claiming broken ribs. More

Paris Fury reveals when husband Tyson will retire from boxing… and it’s sooner than fans might think

PARIS FURY has revealed when she believes her husband and heavyweight king Tyson will retire from boxing. The 33-year-old knocked Deontay Wilder out cold to retain his WBC title in an all-time heavyweight classic earlier this month.

The win solidified Fury’s position as the No1 heavyweight in the world as he closed the chapter on his trilogy with The Bronze Bomber.
Fans are now looking towards big clashes between Fury and the other main contenders in the division such as Oleksandr Usyk, Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua.
But Paris, who recently hit back at claims she is with Tyson for his money, does not believe her husband has too many years left in him before he hangs up the gloves.
Speaking to talkSPORT, she said: “I think for himself, I think he’ll do it for a few more years. He’s 33 now, I think until he’s 35.
“I know Wladimir (Klitschko) and other men have gone on until they’re 40, but then do you keep going until you lose?
“I don’t know, I wouldn’t like to see that from Tyson. I wouldn’t like him to keep going.

“There’s always going to be someone coming up younger and fresher if you’re over the hill, if you’re too far gone.
“I just think another two-three years and Tyson should definitely hang up his gloves and call it a day.”
Fury beat Klitschko back in 2015, ending the Ukrainian’s 11-year reign at the top of the heavyweight pile.
But the Brit’s mental health then spiralled as he effectively retired from the sport, struggling with depression and addictions to drink and drugs.
In 2018 he then returned to boxing and within six months stepped into the ring with undefeated knockout artist Wilder.
The fight was scored a draw, but many felt Fury outboxed Wilder for almost the entire 12 rounds and was robbed of the victory.
He then took two fights in 2019 against Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin before rematching Wilder in February 2020, this time stopping him in the seventh round following a dominant display.
The coronavirus pandemic then forced the trilogy bout to be delayed and at one stage nearly ended any hope of it at all as Fury looked to go after Joshua.

But an arbitrator decided Wilder had the contractual right to a third fight, leading the pair to face off once more.
Fury dropped Wilder in the third round before the American roared back to put The Gypsy King down twice in the fourth.
But Fury kept his composure, sending Wilder to the canvas again in the 10th and then finding the conclusive knockout punch in the 11th.

Floyd Mayweather to rematch boxing rival Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas in December… on basketball court for charity

FLOYD MAYWEATHER is set to rematch Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas in December… on the basketball court for charity. Mayweather famously beat his great Filipino rival in 2015 on points, in the most lucrative fight of all time, selling a US record 4.6million pay-per-views.

Pacquiao, who claimed to have fought with a torn rotator cuff, called for a rematch but was always denied.
But now, according to Philippine sports website Spin PH, the pair have agreed to a charity basketball game.
In a leaked contract it includes both Mayweather and Pacquiao’s promotional companies and has their signature.
It reads: “We, the undersigned, are the main proponents and protagonists of the proposed “Mayweather vs Pacquiao All-Star Basketball Charity stated in December in Las Vegas, NV.
“Date of the event is TBA (to be announced) following the finalization and availability of the venue.
“We agreed on the main concept of the event, which is to bring total entertainment to the fans of boxing, basketball, and all sports in general, and to create a project that will solidify our legacies to the fans.
“We also aim to generate funds for our chosen charities in time for Christmas.”

Both retired boxers will be allowed to have two ex-NBA stars in their ten-player squads for the game.
The match could happen before Pacquiao’s birthday on December 17, potentially at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the scene of their fight.
Mayweather, 44, is a keen basketball player despite standing 5ft 8in and is a close friend of point guard Isaiah Thomas and NBA legend Allen Iverson.
Pacquiao, 42, who is even smaller at 5ft 6in, was a former professional basketball player in the Philippines.
The eight-division champion would play as part of his training regime from 2014-2018 before retiring to focus solely on boxing.
But in an interview with SunSport before his final fight, PacMan revealed shooting hoops for fun was one of the ways he keeps in shape.
Pacquiao was due to fight Errol Spence Jr, 31, at the time but the unbeaten American pulled out with an eye injury.
Instead, Cuban Yordenis Ugas, 35, was elevated from the undercard and went on to win by points.
Pacquiao soon after emotionally announced his boxing retirement to run for presidency of his nation next year.

Roy Jones Jr, 52, open to fighting millionaire Joe Fournier, 38, and offers nightclub mogul chance to be ‘legend slayer’

ROY JONES JR has offered millionaire nightclub mogul Joe Fournier the chance to be a ‘legend slayer’. Fournier is officially 9-0 in his professional boxing career, with one no-contest, but in September he was beaten by David Haye in an exhibition.

Haye is a friend of the Londoner’s and even formerly promoted and managed him.
But he still beat Fournier in an eight-round exhibition, promoted by Triller, who also brought Jones, 52, out of retirement in November.
The American legend boxed to a draw in a similar style spectacle bout with heavyweight icon Mike Tyson, 55.
But Jones has set his fights on fighting once again, and fancies his chances against Fournier, who failed to upset former champion Haye, 40.
He told The Mirror: “I saw his fight with David Haye and I was surprised; I didn’t think he did too badly.
“I just think he bit off more than he could chew because David is much taller than him and 30lb heavier.

“You’ve got to know what you’re doing when you go in against those types of disadvantages, but I’m closer to his size so if he wants to be the ‘legend slayer’.
“I know what he’s thinking, he’s thinking that against someone closer to his size, if he can get to them with one of those bombs, he can knock me out and change history.
“I can’t see that happening but because he was willing to challenge David Haye, he must love the sport of boxing so I’d give him a shot.
“It would have to be the right situation, but I’d definitely give him a shot.”
Jones has more recently focused his time on training British middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr, 32.
Meanwhile Fournier, 38, returned in April after five years out of the ring and beat musician Reykon in a woefully mismatched fight.
Roy Jones Jr is possibly one of my favourite fighters of all time, the fact that he even knows who I am is truly incredible to me. Joe Fournier
But he is open to sharing the ring with another legend in Jones, having failed to get YouTube star Jake Paul, 24, in the ring.
Fournier said: “Roy Jones Jr is possibly one of my favourite fighters of all time, the fact that he even knows who I am is truly incredible to me.
“I want the big fights and big names and it doesn’t get bigger than Roy; his last fight was against Mike Tyson and mine was David Haye!
“I’m ready for the challenge and don’t think Roy will be able to handle my power.
“I’ll have to pause all billionaire activities and get back to the gym and train hard for him but after this win it’ll set me up for the next legend.
“It would be incredible to do it in the Middle East; Dubai or Saudi Arabia are countries I love but have never fought in.
“Respect to Roy for wanting to fight ‘The Billionaire’ – after I win I’ll give him some investment tips!”

It is not currently known whether Mayweather and Monroe are together.
A source came out and spoke with The Sun in July alleging Mayweather gave Monroe around £3.64million in a bid to win her back.
Anna, 29, told friends Floyd wired her the huge amount of cash for jewellery and offered to buy her a yacht to try patch things up.
“Anna has been claiming to her friends that Floyd sent her five million dollars to try to buy her back after he was caught with his ex,” the source said.
“Floyd apparently said she could use the money to buy some nice jewellery.

Paris said on talkSPORT: “I hate it, I’ve got to be truthful, that’s the flat out answer.
“When Tyson used to fight at the beginning it was more of a novelty as Tyson never got punched.
“If you look at Tyson now, he still has a straight nose, for boxers that’s pretty rare!
“And as the years went by and he fought the higher opposition, then he’ll get hit back.
“And that’s when it became horrible. It became not nice to watch.
“And I have said to Tyson in the past, ‘Do you not think you should leave it now? Do you not want to stop now?’
“But, on the other hand I know it’s his love and his passion and it’s what he wants to do most in the world.”

She has supported every one of his fights and will never miss one as she fears needing to be by his side in case the worst happens.
Paris explained: “I support him but I don’t enjoy it, I hate being there, but on the other hand I feel like I have to be there.
“I feel like if I’m not there, and what happens if something goes wrong  and you’re not with him. So that’s the brutality of the sport and that is the fact of it.
“You really are taking your life in your hands every time you go in there and unfortunately, that’s what he loves to do and that’s just his passion in life, so I’ve got to support him for it.
