Tyson Fury’s next fight WILL be in Britain as promoter Bob Arum says it is ‘very important’ WBC champ has UK homecoming

TYSON FURY will return to fight in Britain next as his US promoter Bob Arum stressed the importance of a UK homecoming. Fury has boxed Stateside five times in a row, four consecutively in Las Vegas after signing with legendary promoter Arum and his Top Rank stable.

Most recently, the Gypsy King put on an 11 round thriller with Deontay Wilder, 36, which ended with a brutal knockout to end their trilogy series in style.
Now, Fury is due to fight Dillian Whyte, 33, in a mandatory defence and Arum wants the WBC champion to receive a hero’s welcome after so long on the road.
He told Sky Sports: “It is very, very important that Tyson, having done his last five fights in the US, that he goes back and does a fight in the UK.
“He is a Brit, he has plenty of fans in the UK, and if he does a fight in the UK then comes back to the US, he will bring 10,000 Brits with him.
“American fans have to learn to sing like the Brits!”
With Arum set up in Sin City, Fury’s UK promoter Frank Warren is due to hold talks over the heavyweight’s return, which could come in just five months.

He said: “Frank Warren is going to Manchester to meet Fury to work out a date. It could be March or April, but no later than April.”
The WBC had ordered the winner between Whyte and Otto Wallin on Saturday to then fight Fury.
But Whyte was forced to withdraw after sustaining a shoulder injury, leaving Wallin, 30, out in the cold.
The British contender – who has waited well over three years for his shot at the title – has confirmed his intentions to fight Fury on his return.
But Joe Joyce, 35, who is promoted by Warren and currently the WBO mandatory challenger, is another option for the Gypsy King.
Arum said: “Who Fury fights next will be determined by Fury. If the fight is in the UK, I would think Whyte would be a good possibility, as well as Joyce.”

‘All he does is cry’ – Dillian Whyte slams Wallin for moaning about cancelled fight as Brit says he spent £150k on camp

DILLIAN WHYTE hit out at Otto Wallin and promoter Dmitriy Salita for crying ‘like babies’ after the cancelation of their fight. Wallin said he has lost out on up to £18,000 in training costs after the British contender pulled out of their scheduled O2 headliner this Saturday.

But Whyte has claimed he spent £150,000 himself and will now turn his attention on instead fighting WBC champion Tyson Fury upon his return.
He told BBC Five Live’s Boxing podcast: “This is a no-brainer. Tyson Fury is considered the best heavyweight ever.
“So fight him or fight somebody who doesn’t even know how to speak properly.
“All he does is cry. Him and Salita cry like babies. Crying he’s lost £15,000 on training camp. I spent ten times the amount of that on training camp.”
Whyte was withdrawn from the bout after a doctor examination proved him unfit to fight, but Salita and Wallin want an independent second opinion.
They have also called on the WBC to reschedule the fight after the governing body ruled the winner would fight Fury, 33, after.

But Whyte, 32, plans to instead push ahead to face the Gypsy King himself, leaving behind Wallin, 30, and finally ending his three-year wait to challenge for the world title.
He said: “Of course Wallin is going to be upset. He’s spent money he thought he was going to earn.
“Many times I’ve had fights fall through, you can’t be upset. This is an investment in your career and your future. I see why he’s upset.
“Some fighters don’t dodge fights, some fighters don’t pull out of fights.
“But in that time, if a potential better opportunity comes up, I’ve been waiting to fight for the world title. I’m not going to put it off to fight Otto Wallin.”

MIKE TYSON looks set to fight YouTuber Logan Paul next in one of the most surreal boxing fights of all time.Tyson is one of the sport’s true legends, and was one of the most ferocious punchers ever.

That saw him secure 44KOs from his 50 wins as a pro, suffering six defeats.
Logan, older brother of fellow social media star-turned boxer Jake, has had just ONE pro fight.
    And that was a defeat.
The American fell to a split decision loss to Brit YouTuber KSI – real name Olajide William Olatunji in November 2019.
That was a rematch to their amateur scrap that ended in a majority draw.
Both Tyson and Paul have had one exhibition fight each. Tyson, made a stunning return to the ring to draw against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr in November 2020.

Paul, meanwhile, managed to survive eight rounds against one of the greatest in Floyd Mayweather in June this year.
But now the 26-year-old will be fighting someone his own size – Paul weighed in 2st 7lb heavier than The Money but was given a bit of a boxing lesson.
Tyson, 55, has been rumoured to be facing former nemesis Evander Holyfield or Lennox Lewis.
But according to Youtuber Keemstar – real name Daniel Keem – Tyson will fight Paul next.
Keemstar tweeted: “Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson, Feb 2022, sources tell DramaAlert.”
Tyson is eager to fight once again and has been training hard to prepare for his next opponent.
He was hopeful of fighting again in September but has been made to wait until next year.

Jarrell Miller training with UFC stars in MMA gym while serving drugs ban but eyes boxing return to fight Tyson Fury

JARRELL MILLER has been training with UFC champions while serving a drugs ban in boxing. The heavyweight was first shamed in 2019 after failing three pre-fight drug tests and lost out on close to £4million to fight Anthony Joshua.

Miller was only banned by governing body WBA for six months but was welcomed back by legendary promoter Bob Arum and a Top Rank contract.
But again controversy struck as his comeback fight against Jerry Forrest in July 2020 was cancelled after another failed drug test, with Arum also cutting ties.
Miller was hit with a substantial two-year ban, but throughout the doping scandal, he has continued to train and spent time at Sanford MMA in Florida.
Headed up by ex-Dutch kickboxer Henri Hooft, it is a premium MMA gym in America and houses the likes of UFC stars Kamaru Usman, 34, Luke Rockhold, 37, and Gilbert Burns, 35.
Miller, who has competed professionally in kickboxing, has recently been captured sparring Rockhold, a former champion.
His promoter Dmitriy Salita revealed kickboxing training has always been part of the American’s regime, but has his sights set on a boxing return.

Salita told SunSport: “He is getting back in shape with a mind set to be the best in the division.
“He wants to be an American heavyweight champion of the world from Brooklyn, New York. We haven’t had that in a long time.
“Jarrell always did kickboxing training even for his boxing fights.
“It helps him get in shape and maybe one of the reasons why he is so athletic and flexible in the ring for a heavyweight.”
Miller in April 2019 first tested positive in a blood sample for human growth hormone (HGH), which is on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned list.
A urine sample after then also showed traces of EPO – known to increase oxygen-carrying and combat fatigue – as well as GW1516, which helps boost endurance and fat loss.
Miller blamed the positive tests on an injection to an injured elbow and tainted supplement.

When he returned a year later, to again test positive for GW501516, he this time insisted it was down to a sex pill.
It landed him a two-year ban by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which could be reduced to 18 months if he completed drug testing program.
That would mean he could make a comeback as early as January 2022, but it is not clear whether those terms were met.
Promoter Salita is aware Miller’s first fight will be to win over fans again as he expects a harsh reception upon his return.
He said: “That is going to happen. I believe Jarrell learned his lessons and knows that he has several years to make a mark in the division.
“Positive, responsible  action inside and outside the ring is what is most important and something that fans will look at, can’t blame anyone for that.”

More recently, Miller – who has not fought since beating Bodgan Dinu in November 2018 – has linked up with boxing trainer Kevin Cunningham in Florida.
And when not sparring with MMA elite, he has shared rounds in the gym with ex-opponent Dinu, 35, as well as current contenders Adam Kownacki, 32, and Christopher Lovejoy, 37.
Miller may have missed out on fighting AJ – who lost to replacement Andy Ruiz Jr and then won the rematch – but the boxing villain has set his sights on Tyson Fury.
Fury, 33, recently knocked out Deontay Wilder, 36, in their trilogy bout in his adopted US home of Las Vegas.
And with a gap to fill as America’s next world title challenger, Miller will lace up the gloves once more with one eye on a super-fight with the Gypsy King.
Salita said: That fight maybe the biggest heavyweight promotion in a long time. It can be very exciting. One step at a time but that would be tremendous.”

Otto Wallin spent £18,000 on training camp before Dillian Whyte cancelation as promoter urges WBC to reschedule fight

OTTO WALLIN has been left devastated with the cancelation of his fight with Dillian Whyte – and faces the £18,000 spent training for it going down the drain. The Swede was set to face Whyte this Saturday, with the winner going on to then challenge for Tyson Fury’s WBC crown.
Otto Wallin estimates he spent up to £18,000 training to fight Dillian Whyte

But with his bags packed ready for the airport, Wallin was given the news not to travel after being told the fight could be off.
Whyte sustained a shoulder injury and after a medical examination was withdrawn from the bout.
In a virtual press conference to discuss the development, Wallin revealed he spent around £10,000-£18,000 in training costs, preparing in New York.
And his promoter fears it is not only money now going to waste, but also damage on the body after an almost full and gruelling camp.
Dmitriy Salita told SunSport: “Well besides the money, he had other fight opportunities on the table and he choose to take this one.
“It’s lost opportunity a world class athlete can only have so many camps and absorb the punishment that it entails to get in best of shape.
“Boxing is not the wild Wild West, I believe there is an opportunity in this situation to set precedence of regulations in our sport and in that regard this is bigger then the fight itself.”

Whyte, 32, was making a voluntary defence of his WBC ‘interim’ title and hand picked Wallin, 30, as an opponent.
It means contractually, his promotional team Matchroom have the right to either reschedule or cancel the fight.
Wallin’s team have now requested to have an independent doctor examine Whyte’s injury but ‘have not heard back as of yet.’
They are also hoping the WBC will take matters into their own hands and order the rescheduling, having already promised the winner a shot at Fury.
Salita said: “We also contacted the WBC to order the re do of this important heavyweight contest. Wallin vs Whyte was a fight for the WBC interim title.
“Several weeks after this fight was signed and announced the WBC made an announcement that the interim champion which means winner of the fight Wallin vs Whyte will fight winner of Wilder vs Fury.
“Whyte sustained an injury but the announcement of winner fighting Fury was all ready made.
“Anything can happen in boxing, Whyte recently got KO’d by Alexander Povetkin it is certainly in the realm of possibilities that Otto would be victorious.”
It’s lost opportunity a world class athlete can only have so many camps and absorb the punishment that it entails to get in best of shape. Otto Wallin’s promoter
Whyte, who claimed he spent £120,000 on training himself in Portugal, insisted he was prepared to fight injured but his team demanded it instead be scrapped.
And he admitted is is now ‘common sense’ to move on from Wallin to focus on Fury, 33, having waited so patiently for his crack at the famous green and gold belt.
Whyte said on talkSPORT: “Fury’s got the world title and that’s what I’ve been waiting for, that’s what I’ve worked for.
“I don’t even know how much sanctioning fees I’ve paid. I could’ve easily abandoned this route and gone down another route years ago, but I’ve waited and I’ve waited and I’ve waited.
“So what am I gonna do? Fight Otto Wallin or fight Tyson Fury, what are you gonna do? It’s common sense.
“Like I said, I’m not scared of no-one. I wanted to fight.”
Salita, a former world title challenger himself, does not accuse Whyte of fabricating the injury, but doubled down on wanting a second opinion.
‘OTTO WAS WITH HIS BAGS READY TO GO’
He said: “It’s not my business to speculate certainly injuries injuries do happen during training.
“We have asked for an independent doctor to make an evaluation and see if this fight can be rescheduled in the near future.
“After all Otto was with his bags ready to go to the airport fly across the pond to give boxing fans what they deserve.”
Whyte said he offered 8-0 Alen Babic – who he manages – as a replacement opponent for Wallin.
But Salita denies being offered an alternative fight, and appears to suggest Whyte is their only target regardless.
He said: “After Whyte fell out I did not receive an offer for Otto to fight October 30th.
“Definition of an offer is opponent, purse, travel, accommodations and all details pertaining to a particular fight.
“At this point Otto’s goal is to get in the ring with Whyte.”

Nate Diaz to ‘QUIT UFC’ for £10m Jake Paul fight and then onto Conor McGregor trilogy in boxing ring, claims ex-MMA star

NATE DIAZ will leave the UFC after his contract expires to fight Jake Paul for up to £10million, his former opponent predicted. Diaz has just one bout left on his current UFC contract and recently hinted at facing Tony Ferguson.

So far, he is yet to extend his deal and Josh Thompson believes the American is eyeing a lucrative boxing switch to fight Paul over a trilogy with Conor McGregor.
Thompson, 43, said on his Weighing In podcast: “He’s leaving the UFC, he’s fighting Jake Paul. Just stop, OK.
“This is his last fight, he’s not fighting in the UFC anymore. He’s going to leave and he’s going to fight Jake Paul.
“He’s just trying to get a fight to get out the door, he’s done with MMA. He knows that fight is going to make him double then he’d make [against McGregor].
“Conor’s not that draw anymore that he once was. Conor can’t get out of his contract, he’s on an eight or ten fight deal I believe.
“So he’s stuck with the UFC forever. Speaking from a Nate point of view, I think Nate’s going to leave and end up fighting Jake Paul in boxing.”

Diaz, 37, beat McGregor, 33, in March 2016 but lost the rematch in a modern classic just five months later.
The trilogy decider is yet to materialise despite the pair regularly goading each other online.
But Thompson, the only man to ever KO Diaz in the UFC, believes the rubber match could take place in the boxing ring.
And he claimed his old rival could end up making over TRIPLE the money to fight YouTuber-turned 4-0 boxer Paul opposed to McGregor.
Thompson said: “I know he can make any more from between $10 to $15million (£10m) to do that one fight versus him having to fight Conor and make $2million, maybe $4million (£2.9m).
“Why? When he can fight one time in boxing against somebody who he’s got a lot more experience against and against somebody his brother knows.
“If Nate goes and beats Jake Paul, then I can see Dana saying, ‘OK, let’s fight Nate in boxing’. I couldn’t see him doing it before, he has to beat Jake Paul first.
“If he beats Jake Paul I can see him riding Conor in to be like, ‘Nate and [Conor] in boxing makes sense’.
“It’s a trilogy fight but not a trilogy fight because it’s in boxing not in MMA.”

‘Who has he fought?’ – Dillian Whyte slams Tyson Fury claims he is best heavyweight ever but admits he is modern great

DILLIAN WHYTE has slammed claims Tyson Fury is the greatest heavyweight of all time – but admitted his rival is the best of their era for now. After the Gypsy King’s heroic trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, where he scored a dramatic 11th round knockout, he boasted of being the best to ever do it.

But Whyte argues with only two wins over Wilder, 36, and a famous 2015 upset of Wladimir Klitschko, 45, to his name, it does not compare to other legends.
He said on CNN: “Who has he fought? Deontay Wilder and Klitschko, he can’t call himself the greatest.
“OK, you might be the best heavyweight around in your era now because you haven’t lost, then you beat everyone put in front of you.
“But you’re not the greatest. You haven’t even achieved half of what Lennox Lewis has achieved: Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman- all of these guys.”
Whyte is currently the WBC ‘interim’ champion, putting him in line to challenge for Fury’s world title.
He was due to defend that status against Otto Wallin, 30, on the weekend, until the British contender, 32, withdrew with a shoulder injury.

Wallin’s team are hoping to have the fight rescheduled, after the WBC ordered the winner to fight Fury, 33.
But Whyte appears ready to instead focus on the Gypsy King, which he argues is just ‘common sense’ having patiently waited so long for his shot at gold.
He told talkSPORT: “Fury’s got the world title and that’s what I’ve been waiting for, that’s what I’ve worked for.
“I don’t even know how much sanctioning fees I’ve paid.
“I could’ve easily abandoned this route and gone down another route years ago, but I’ve waited and I’ve waited and I’ve waited.
You’re not the greatest. You haven’t even achieved half of what Lennox Lewis has achieved: Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman- all of these guys.Dillian Whyte on Tyson Fury
“So what am I going to do? Fight Otto Wallin or fight Tyson Fury, what are you gonna do?
“It’s common sense. Like I said, I’m not scared of no-one. I wanted to fight.
“I think they’re going to mandate me vs Tyson Fury, they’ve basically said it already.
“It’s already been mandated really, so we don’t need to wait – I want it to be in the UK man, that’s a UK fight.
“That’s the biggest all-British heavyweight title fight since Lennox Lewis vs Frank Bruno.”

Paris believes the documentary – which aired for four seasons between 2010-2015 – showed ‘gypsies in a horrible light’.
Asked by talkSPORT whether she thinks the traveller community is misrepresented, Paris said: “One million per cent it is.
“There’s so much out there, you had that documentary years back, ‘The Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’ that portrays full gypsies in a horrible light.
“There’s someone like me and Tyson that will stand forward and say, ‘You know what, we’re like normal people, we come from gypsy background’.
“And we stand on our own two feet to show the world isn’t just one lump. Every culture, every race, every diversity, they’re their own individuals.
“And you’ve got to take everyone as individuals and I think that happens a lot in the gypsy culture, you get a lot branded as one type and I don’t think that should happen at all.

Paris, who has six children with the unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion, has also predicted Fury will retire in two years.
She added: “I think for himself, I think he’ll do it for a few more years. He’s 33 now, I think until he’s 35.
“I know Wladimir (Klitschko) and other men have gone on until they’re 40, but then do you keep going until you lose?
“I don’t know, I wouldn’t like to see that from Tyson. I wouldn’t like him to keep going.
