Early negotiations over the showdown collapsed late July, much to the disappointment of boxing fans around the world.
But, talks were eventually successful and the fight happens on November 6.
The collapse of the bout didn’t stop Canelo from working hard in the gym with coach Eddy Reynoso.
The Mexican shared a video of himself going through offensive and defensive drills with his countryman to his Instagram page.
Canelo showed blistering hand speed as he cracked the pads and blocked his coach’s returning shots.
The 31-year-old’s shuddering power was also on display as he mixed in vicious power left hooks with his fast straight punches.
After finishing off the drill with a nasty hook, Reynoso told Canelo, ‘Eso bien’, which means ‘that’s good’ in English.

Boxing fans were blown away by the unified 168lb champ’s speed and ferocity, with one saying: “Frightening.”
Another said: “Trains like a man who doesn’t know how much $ he has in the bank, crazy, relentless hunger.”
And another: ‘There’s a reason he’s the goat, drilling the basics almost religiously.”
    One remarked: “Monster at work.’
Canelo – real name Saul Alvarez – was originally due to face Plant in Las Vegas on September 18.
The undefeated Plant blamed the collapse of the mouthwatering bout on the Mexican mauler, telling ESPN: “Canelo was offered the highest guarantee of his career.
I question whether legacy or money is their real motiveCaleb Plant on the collapse of his showdown with Canelo
“He was set to make $40 million plus Mexican TV rights and his Hennessy Sponsorship.
“No problem, let’s fight. We gave it to him, then they wanted upside of gate and PPV revenue; no problem, let’s rumble.
“It was always agreed that it was a [title] unification; no rematch for either fighter.
“Towards the end of negotiations they asked for a rematch when they lose, no problem, you can have the rematch as well, I just wanna fight.
“I question whether legacy or money is their real motive.” More

“Stella and Kailah are normal hard-working girls who went out for a midweek drink and ended up doing shots and dancing with one of the world’s most famous sporting stars. They felt very lucky to be out with him and he was very complimentary to them and they loved his fun-loving personality.

The dad of six, who has been partying hard since his epic world title win over Deontay Wilder last month, was out in Manchester on Wednesday afternoon while wife Paris was at home with their newborn baby.
Stella and Kailah spotted him and coach Andy Lee in a swanky restaurant. They filmed him before posting on Snapchat: “Not Tyson Fury being sat right behind us.”
Outside they approached the two-times world champ for a selfie and Tyson happily obliged.

A picture posted on Stella’s Facebook page shows Tyson – wearing a navy blue blazer, jeans and a white shirt – smiling with his arms around both girls.

The group exchanged numbers before the girls headed to the city’s Hatch pop-up complex where they downed £8.50 Pornstar cocktails from the Miami Ice bar.
But they were floored when they got a WhatsApp message from Tyson’s pal Andy asking them to join them for something to eat.
Stella replied: “I’m just having a drink in a bar. I’m not looking my best right now to be joining for dinner as I’m in my comfies. I’m heading home but I can get ready.”

‘Everything is going to be OK’ – Scott Fitzgerald responds to the worrying picture that left Eddie Hearn ‘shocked’

BOXER Scott Fitzgerald has told his fans ‘everything is going to be OK’ after worrying pictures emerged on social media on Thursday. The 29-year-old, who won the British title in the super-welterweight division two years ago, appeared to be in a desperate state after someone snapped him lying on the streets outside a pub.

Hearn admits he is concerned by the current state of FitzgeraldCredit: Mark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing
But the fighter, who has battled drug addiction in recent years, was quick to insist those concerned about him do not have anything to be worried about.
Reassuring his fans, Fitzgerald released a Facebook post which read: “I mean stop kicking up a fuss guys.
“I had an exhausting day haha no lie I’d had a 10/15 min straightener with an absolute rabbit of a Southpaw traveller half hour before on Ashton Park.
“I’m sorry to worry my Dad and Mum but that is the only thing I’m sorry for. I took a bloody nap outside my beloved Wheatsheaf. Everything is going to be ok you squirrels.”
The boxer’s comments come just hours after his promoter Eddie Hearn voiced his concerns over the pictures.
He told iFL TV: “Scott went into rehab over a year ago. We hoped he was moving in the right direction.

“What we saw today shocked the life out of me. We’re gonna make sure we convince him to get help now.
“We’ll be doing everything we can to help.”
Fitzgerald’s trainer Jimmy Moon told the Lancashire Post on Friday: “He needs help but he needs to want that help.
“We have tried helping him, taking him away, but he has got to want to be helped.
“The main thing for us before he can start training again is that he’s got to be clean and living the right lifestyle.
“But it’s not happening yet. We just try to keep talking to him and helping him.”
Fitzgerald announced himself as a major contender in the super-welterweight division with a dramatic split decision victory over British rival Anthony Fowler in March 2019.
Seven months later he then beat Ted Cheeseman by unanimous decision to claim the British title in the 154lb division.
But since then he has fought just once as circumstances out of the ring took a hold of his life.
In March 2020, Fitzgerald was arrested on suspicion of assault after a “kick off” with his ex-partner and her family.
His last bout came back in May when he beat Frenchman Gregory Trenel by third round stoppage. More

And Fury’s dad John has claimed the pair’s bout agreement is full of ‘bizzare’ clausesCredit: REX
It’s been revealed that Fury must change his surname if he loses the battle of social media stars, with doting dad John revealing there are a number of ‘awkward’ stipulations.
The 57-year-old told BT Sport: “[Paul’s team] are being awkward.
“The contract has been bizarre. If I was going to go through what they’ve put in the contract, we’d be here all day.
“I’ve said yes to everything; yes, yes, yes, yes, do what you’ve got to do because I know Jake Paul can’t beat Tommy no matter what he does.”
Fury, 22, will pocket a £423,000 bonus if he gets the better of The Problem Child, although he’ll legally be obliged to change his name to ‘Tommy Fumbles’ if he loses.
An excerpt of the pair’s bout agreement which read: “If Fury is declared the winner of the Bout, Paul hereby agrees to pay Fury Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) directly from Paul’s purse as an additional fighter bonus.

“However, if Paul is declared the winner of the Bout, Fury hereby agrees to (i) commence, within thirty (30) days of the conclusion of the Bout, an application process with the Royal Courts of Justice in the United Kingdom to obtain a deed poll legally changing Fury’s name to “Tommy Fumbles,” (ii) change, within twenty four (24) hours of the Bout, all of his social media accounts to reflect the name “Tommy Fumbles:, and (iii) immediately after the Bout utilise the name “Tommy Fumbles” in all forms of media…”
Fury – the half-brother of WBC heavyweight Tyson – has a wealth of boxing experience to his name in comparison to Paul.
And dad John is confident his son will do a number on the outspoken and divisive Youtuber.
He said: “Tommy knows he’s up against a stacked deck, but he should still beat Jake Paul at a canter.
“And if he can’t, there’s no way in the boxing world for him.

“It’s make or break, for both men, but it’ll hit Tommy harder because Tommy’s supposed to be a professional boxer.
“Tommy will work hard, he’ll do what he’s gotta do.
“Has Tommy got the skill to beat him? Yes. Has he got the power to knock him out? Yes.
“All it is with Tommy – he’s young, can he handle the big occasion on the night?

“But I’m sure he’s thought about it many times before and he’s got the king of the ring in his corner.
“Tyson’s gonna be in his corner that night. I think Tyson’s flying out there in a few weeks to help him out.
“Whatever desire he’s missing, Tyson will put there, I’m sure of that.”
