      Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte talks underway with Gypsy King set for February or March return, says promoter

      TYSON FURY’S blockbuster all-British bout with Dillian Whyte is set to take place early next year, according to Bob Arum.The Gypsy King’s US promoter has revealed his man expects to defend his WBC heavyweight title in ‘February or March’ after Whyte was named mandatory challenger.

      Fury had been eyeing a winner-takes-all showdown with rival champion Oleksandr Usyk but has since been ordered to face the Body Snatcher.
      And Arum revealed plans are afoot for a homecoming show early next year.
      He told Sky Sports: “(Fury’s UK promoter) Frank Warren talked to Tyson, who wants to get in the ring in February or March.
      “We are talking to Whyte now to come to an arrangement to put the fight on in the UK. It will be a splendid fight and we are working hard to put it together.”
      Fury has not fought on this side of the Atlantic since out-pointing Francesco Pianeta at Belfast’s Windsor Park back in August 2018.
      But Cardiff and Manchester have been mooted as possible venues for his next outing.

      But the reigning WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO champion is now set to face AJ in a rematch – also early next year.

      Tyson Fury’s unbeaten half-brother Tommy would have been a huge step up for Paul but pulled out of next week’s bout with a reported rib injury and chest infection.
      Now former UFC welterweight champ Woodley, 39, is targeting revenge against his American rival at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida.
      But Sonnen believes Paul is taking a ‘very big risk’ by again facing the only one of his four victims who had previous professional boxing experience.
      Paul, 24, won their first fight on a split decision four months ago.
      And asked on The MMA Hour if Paul was making a mistake, Sonnen replied: “I think it is. And this mistake is what I respect about it so much.

      JOHN FURY has claimed a ‘complete idiot’ who weighs 17stone broke his son Tommy’s ribs with a ‘bare knuckle’ punch. The alleged injury and a chest infection is what caused Tommy to pull out of his December 18 grudge match with Paul in Florida.

      Dad John told Behind The Gloves: “He’s had a bacterial chest infection for about six or seven weeks, but that didn’t bother us, we were going to battle through that.
      “But owing to a complete idiot in the gym, punched him in the ribs. A man of 16 or 17 stone with his bare knuckle, punched him in the ribs and broke his ribs.
      “At the end of the day, I was horrified, we were going to try and battle through it, because when we got him x-rayed they said, ‘No, it’s just bruised, it’s ligament damage’.
      “And then, he was sparring and he couldn’t throw a punch, he couldn’t move. He said, ‘Look, I’m in bad pain dad’.
      “He said to Tyson, ‘I’m in bad pain, I can’t move’. So, I took him to a specialist in Manchester, they x-rayed him properly and the finding was there.
      “Broke ribs, what can you do? Chest infection, broke ribs, it’s unfortunate, it’s cost a lot of money, people have lost a lot of money, the disappointment is immense for Tommy and us.
      “But, we’ll bounce back, we’re fighters, if you want to reschedule, that’s not a problem.”

      “Because, you know what? I’ll just come and backhand the pair of ya. But Tommy, don’t worry about it my friend, he will at some point meet you.

      UFC legend Michael Bisping claimed Tyron Woodley earned £6million for his first fight with Jake Paul – in a massive blow to Tommy Fury. Paul beat Woodley over eight rounds in August, with Fury winning against the YouTuber’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor.

      It set up the huge celebrity grudge match which was set for December 18 in Florida.
      But Fury this week pulled out with a broken rib and chest infection, while Woodley signed as his replacement.
      The ex-UFC champion had been campaigning for a rematch against Paul, and Bisping has a good reason why.
      He said on his YouTube channel: “Tyron has been trying to get that rematch and understandably so.
      “From what I hear, Tyron Woodley made around $8million for that fight against Jake Paul, so of course he wants to do it again.
      “But still, they went with Tommy Fury. Tommy Fury, I thought was a good match-up for Jake Paul, because he’s a boxer, he’s a guy that’s starting off, he’s 7-0 as a boxer.
      “Made sense for Jake Paul to be fighting somebody like that, plus with the Fury name, right he’s Tyson Fury’s half brother, so there’s that whole connection there, makes it interesting.”

      “But there’s a difference between training for a fight properly and absolutely killing yourself to what there is of just ticking over, keeping the engine running.
      “So I fear in this fight Tyron Woodley, even with extra incentive, I don’t think we’re gonna see much different. I think Jake Paul is gonna be in better shape.”

      JAKE PAUL has called out Google’s No1 searched athlete Tiger Woods for a fight.The YouTube star-turned-boxer has made a name for himself in professional sports in recent years.

      Paul is the tenth-most searched athlete in 2021
      Paul is 4-0 as a professional boxer, defeating former MMA stars Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley during 2021.
      He was set to take on Tommy Fury on December 18, but the Brit had to pull out due to illness.
      Paul will instead fight Woodley again and will give the 39-year-old an extra $500,000 if he can knock him out.
      But it appears Paul already has his sights set on fighting the biggest sporting superstar of them all in 2022.
      Woods is the most searched athlete of 2021 – with Paul languishing back in 10th – and the YouTuber has called the 45-year-old out for a fight.

      Five fights for Jake Paul if YouTube star gets past Tyron Woodley in rematch including finally taking on Tommy Fury

      JAKE PAUL will have to go over old ground after agreeing to rematch Tyron Woodley at late notice. The YouTube star beat ex-UFC champion Woodley over eight rounds in August and set up a mega-fight with Tommy Fury.

      But with less than two weeks to go, Fury, 22, pulled out with a broken rib and chest infection.
      Woodley, 39, was training on standby and ready to fill in for a rematch on December 18 in Florida.
      A win for Paul increases his stock even more, and here SunSport runs down what could be in the immediate pipeline.

      Despite Paul’s unbeaten 4-0 record, he has been levelled with criticism for not facing an opponent with prior professional boxing experience.
      And Fury, who is 7-0 and has a celebrity profile after his 2019 stint on Love Island, offered the perfect opportunity to answer those critics.

      With wins over ex-UFC stars in Ben Askren, 37, and Woodley, Paul has built up a good rivalry with Dana White’s MMA promotion.
      Diaz, 36, has been among those to feud with Paul in recent months and only has one fight left on his UFC deal.
      If he can fulfil the last remaining bout on his UFC contract, it would then pave the way for a boxing switch.

      Conor McGregor
      McGregor, 33, has been at the top of Paul’s ‘hit-list’ for some time and even claimed to have a $50m offer for the Irishman last year.
      The former UFC champion still has two fight left on his contract making a move into the ring difficult.
      But in 2017, White did make an exception as McGregor fought and lost to Floyd Mayweather, meaning if the money is right, he could do the same again.

      Anderson Silva
      The Brazilian, 46, was released from his UFC contract in 2020 and returned to the boxing ring, where he was already 1-1.
      What followed was a win over former boxing champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 35, and fellow MMA legend Tito Ortiz, 46.
      Silva then entered talks to fight Paul but nothing prevailed, meaning the matchup remains a possibility.

      Mayweather, 44, in June faced Paul’s older brother Logan, 26, in an extraordinary exhibition, which ended without a winner as it went the distance.
      But beforehand, Paul stole the headlines – and Mayweather’s hat – after he nicked the American icon’s cap, sparking a mass brawl.
      Mayweather has insisted he is done with boxing, but is never retired from making money, meaning a fight with the YouTuber cannot be ruled out.
