‘Lowlife, scumbag, cretin’ – Chris Eubank Jr slams Liam Williams for making fight ‘personal’ and vows to ’embarrass’ him

CHRIS EUBANK JR labelled Liam Williams a ‘lowlife, scumbag and cretin’ for hyping their battle with spiteful trash talk. The Welsh hardman, 29, has insulted and goaded his way into a mouth-watering middleweight clash with the son of ring legend Chris Sr.

The warring pair will settle their grudge in a Cardiff ring on December 11 after Williams kept digging at the 32-year-old on Twitter.
And Eubank Jr insists he will punish his bitter foe when they finally get to batter each other with more than words.
He said: “Respect is not a word I would use to explain my feelings toward Liam.
“He has said a lot of reckless things online and it does not sit well with me. This is personal, he has made it personal.
“He has come here and tried to talk about respect but we have gone too far past that and he will pay for what he said.
“I will embarrass him in front of his home crowd, he is going to get hurt.

“I won’t repeat what he said. Lowlife, scrumbag and cretin are words I could use to describe him for what he has said.
“He is going to get obliterated and then I will move on. He doesn’t have what it takes to stop me, I will get to him so he will quit or get knocked out.”
Williams was polite for most of the press conference but regularly interjected Eubank’s comments to say he is ‘full of s***’.
And he could not resist one last chance to claim Eubank Jr’s career is all down to his famous father.
“I respect him a lot as a fighter but we are just never going to be friends,” he said.

“I don’t respect him much personally, I don’t like the way he goes about his business, he’s not my type of guy. I would not want to be his friend in or outside of boxing.
“He will struggle against anyone with a jab and some movement, if you stand in front of him he will punch holes in you but we have a gameplan and he will have a hard night.
“I am not sure I will stop him, because he is a very durable and tough man. I would like to stop him but I am prepared to beat him on points.
“The guy is full of s***, he is just a good talker, maybe daddy paid for him to have talking lessons when he was younger.”

Five next fights for Tyson Fury including Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk and Andy Ruiz Jr as Dillian Whyte talks stall

DILLIAN WHYTE has seen his well-earned world title shot stalled after the WBC opted against ordering him to fight Tyson Fury. The British contender launched a legal case to accelerate talks for the WBC to mandate him against champion Fury.

But at the governing bodies’ annual convention in Mexico, they revealed the legal proceedings have to be resolved before Whyte gets his shot.
The 33-year-old still remains a frontrunner to face Fury, with the WBC just needing to officially order the fight.
But, if disaster strikes, here SunSport runs down five different options for the Gypsy King.
    Oleksandr Usyk
Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum has done his best to urge Anthony Joshua against rematching Usyk.
It means they could instead unify all the belts against the Ukrainian, 34, and promise Joshua, 32, the winner of that fight.
Arum even went as far to say that would be Fury’s preference, over a domestic clash with Whyte.
But it appears unlikely, with Joshua all-but confirmed for a rematch with Usyk, set to take place before the end of April.

    Anthony Joshua
Without beating Usyk, and reclaiming his unified WBA, IBF and WBO belts, Joshua’s chances of fighting Fury are slim.
But if somehow, Fury has not returned to the ring before AJ’s rematch with Usyk, and the Brit wins, it could set up the Battle of Britain again.
Even after Joshua lost to Usyk, he confirmed he would still fight his English rival and Deontay Wilder, 36, with or without belts.
But until AJ’s business with Usyk is over, talk of fighting Fury needs to be shelved.

    Andy Ruiz Jr
Fury has one fight left on his Top Rank deal, having had his last four with the US promotion, all in Las Vegas.
And if he is to close out the deal again in America, with his Wilder trilogy series completed, Ruiz is the second biggest Stateside star.
His shock win over Joshua in 2019 and comeback fight in May has made the Mexican-American outsider, 32, a hot commodity.
But, Arum has been vocal about bringing Fury back to the UK for a homecoming, and there are bigger options for the Gypsy King.

    Joe Joyce
Joyce, 36, is the current WBO mandatory challenger, but the WBA and IBF are both set to be called beforehand.
It leaves the unbeaten contender facing a wait for the winner between Usyk – who holds the WBO titles – and former champ Joshua.
Joyce is ranked No3 in the WBC and shares a promoter with Fury in Frank Warren, meaning there is no TV network clash.
Arum also named the former British title holder as a likely opponent alongside Whyte in March.

    David Haye
Haye, 41, in 2013 twice pulled out of fighting Fury, meaning their feud was left unresolved.
And it looked to be heading that way forever until the Hayemaker came out of retirement in September for an exhibition.
He beat his good friend Joe Fournier – who he used to promote and manage – over eight rounds.
And afterwards, he called out Fury, despite not fighting professionally since consecutive losses to Tony Bellew in 2017 then 2018.

Canelo Alvarez vs Ilunga Makabu tale of the tape: How fighters compare with Mexican looking to conquer FIFTH division

CANELO ALVAREZ has sensationally been given the nod to move up to cruiserweight to challenge champion Ilunga Makabu. The WBC announced at their annual convention that they have given their blessing for Makabu to defend his title against the Mexican.

Canelo is already a four-division champion, having won belts from light-middleweight all the way to light-heavyweight.
But he appears to have a FIFTH weight class eyed after requesting to fight Makabu, who was knocked out by Tony Bellew in 2016.
Here, SunSport compares the two fighters.
    SPEED
Canelo is one of the most destructive combination punchers in the sport, letting fly with beautiful shots in numbers.
But his hands are not always eye-catching, as he instead focuses more on accuracy and timing.
That being said, he is a far speedier puncher than Makabu, who does still possess quick hands for his size.
Neither men have particularly sharp feet, but Canelo is always on the move and often cuts off the ring.

    POWER
Canelo has heavy hands, with 39 knockouts in his 57 wins, and importantly carries his power into the later rounds.
That was on show when he beat Sergey Kovalev for the WBO light-heavyweight title, which he won in round 11.
If he is to use similar tactics to take Makabu out late, that power will be vital to breaking down the Congolese veteran.
But due to the size different, Makabu will carry a power advantage, taking 25 KOs into the fight from 28 won.
Caleb Plant was knocked out in round 11 by Canelo AlvarezCredit: AP
    EXPERIENCE
Despite Makabu, 34, being three years older, Canelo, 31, has exactly double the amount of fights.
Not many other fighters can claim to have more experience than Canelo, who amazingly turned professional at just 15.
He has also shared the ring with some of the best in his era, including Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto, Gennady Golovkin and Kovalev.
And for Makabu, he has been involved in just three world titles fight, with only his 2016 loss to Bellew a recognised name on his record.

    RECORD
Canelo’s one loss as a 23-year-old in 2013 against Mayweather proved a turning point in his career, as he seemed to adapt and improve his style thereafter.
But he was deemed fortunate to walk away with a draw against GGG in 2017 and a win in their rematch a year later.
Having also faced the best all the way from 154-175lb, Canelo has almost seen it all in the ring.
And Makabu’s lack of established opponents on his resume makes for comfortable viewing for Alvarez.

    PHYSIQUE
Makabu carries in a height and reach advantage, standing 6ft compared to 5ft 9in Canelo, and has an almost four inch reach advantage.
But they were almost identical stats in Plant’s favour, before the American was knocked out with a round to go.
Makabu is also over TWO STONE heavier than Canelo if you compare their last fights, which were two weights apart.
He does also have a southpaw stance, but that did not help Billy Joe Saunders, who was left with FOUR face fractures in May after losing in round eight.

‘He wasn’t a man of his word’ – Tyron Woodley rages with Jake Paul over tattoo with YouTuber fighting Tommy Fury instead

TYRON WOODLEY has raged at Jake Paul not being ‘a man of his word’ after the YouTuber snubbed a rematch to face Tommy Fury instead. Woodley was beaten by Paul over eight rounds in August, but beforehand the two made a pre-fight wager.

They bet the loser would have to get the winner’s name tattooed on them.
But in the ring afterwards, Paul agreed to rematch Woodley, so long as the bet was honoured.
It took Woodley a whole month to get ‘I love Jake Paul’ inked on his finger, which ultimately proved too little too late.
He has since hit out at the social media star as he posted a link to their face-to-face sit down which was recorded days before their fight.
Woodley, 39, tweeted: “Watched this for the 1st time! Every single word here happened.
“He got gassed & ran. He didnt want to run it back. He wasnt a man of his word.”

After beating Woodley, Paul turned his attention to Fury, 22, who beat his sparring partner Anthony Taylor, 32, on the undercard.
Recently the American talked down a rematch with Woodley, despite the tattoo reveal.
Paul, 24, told TMZ Sport: “By the time he’d got the tattoo, we’d already moved on to fighting Tommy Fury and making that fight negotiation.
“I don’t think people really wanna see Tyron vs Jake Paul again. He had his chance. He had his chance.”

Tommy Fury has NO strengths over Jake Paul and will LOSE fight, claims Anthony Taylor who shared ring with both boxers

TOMMY FURY has been accused of having NO strengths over Jake Paul by the man who has shared the ring with them both. Anthony Taylor, a 7-5 MMA fighter, shot to recognition as one of Paul’s sparring partners.

But his profile increased further last August, when he was beaten over four rounds by Fury, brother to heavyweight champion Tyson.
That result set Fury, 22, up with a grudge match against Paul, 24, on December 18 in Florida.
And Taylor, not in camp with his celebrity fighting friend this time, predicted Fury will tire and lose in the later stages.
He told SunSport: “I think Jake TKO in the seventh round.
“His ring IQ is better, boxing IQ is better, his cardio is a lot better. Strategically, footwork-wise, Jake is better.
“When you really look at Jake, when he fought Tyron you can tell his footwork is better than Tommy’s.

“His ring IQ, the way he utilises the ring around him, the space, the ropes, but when you look at Tommy’s previous fights, he’s never fought anybody bar me.
“And he had a hard time against me. I’m 5’6, he was supposed to knock me out and he had a really hard time and he gassed out quick.
“When you’re going against a guy that’s taller than you, with boxing skills like Jake, Tommy’s going to have a really hard time.”
Paul’s first three wins were knockouts over online rival ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, also 37.
But he scored his biggest career win last time out over eight rounds against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39.
Taylor’s MMA experience was used in sparring for the wins over Askren and Woodley while even affording him a spot on the undercard in the latter.
But Fury spoiled any chance of a cinderella upset for the former Bellator fighter.

Taylor has since likened Fury’s fight with Paul to Anthony Joshua’s loss to Oleksandr Usyk in September.
And he insisted his ex-rival does not posses the power capable of closing the show like has been previously promised.
Taylor, 32, said: “Tommy has no knockout power, he has pop and nothing else.
“People said I was comparing Jake to Usyk, no, I said this, the fight will be exactly like Anthony Joshua versus Usyk.
“Tommy Fury is going to be Anthony Joshua, throwing one-twos, very stationary, he comes forward.
“Jake will be like Usyk, moving around a lot, he’s going to use that whole ring, he’s going to pick his shots.

“He’s not going to stand and trade with Tommy, he’s going to move, bouncing. You seen against Tyron Woodley, he used the whole ring.
“He moved around a lot. And it’s going to be the same thing, just like that.”
Taylor’s friendship with Paul has landed him on the mega pay-per-view bill once again.
He fights Chris Avila, a training partner of Nate Diaz’s, who he beat only last year in the cage.
Taylor said: “Kudos to Chris Avila for stepping foot into that boxing ring, he’s a warrior for that.
“I give everybody their props when they step foot in that cage or ring. But no disrespect to him as a fighter, but I’m going to properly kick his butt.”

Tyson Fury ‘may end up fighting’ Dillian Whyte but wants unification showdown against Oleksandr Usyk, says Bob Arum

TYSON FURY prefers an undisputed title decider with Oleksandr Usyk but ‘may end up fighting’ Dillian Whyte, says his promoter Bob Arum. Fury, 33, is considering his options having knocked out Deontay Wilder, 36, in October to close out their epic trilogy series in style.

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr UsykCredit: Getty
Just two weeks beforehand, Usyk, 34, dethroned Anthony Joshua, 32, after a 12 round masterclass at Tottenham’s stadium.
AJ has since invoked his right to an immediate rematch, meaning Fury’s hopes of a unification took a big hit.
And Arum revealed challenging for Usyk’s WBA, IBF and WBO belts is top of his priority list.
He told Sky Sports: “The alternative is that if Joshua decides not to exercise his rematch against Usyk and decides to step aside, the fight we would like to make is between Usyk and Fury.
“That is a fight to unify the titles once and for all. Then Joshua can fight the winner of the undisputed fight.
“Whyte can stand in line and fight the winner ultimately. That’s what Tyson would like. And I represent Tyson. That is his preference.
“If they want to fight each other, which I believe they do? I would facilitate it.”

With Joshua all-but confirmed to rematch Usyk by April, Fury is likely to look elsewhere for his return.
Whyte, 33, is the WBC mandatory challenger, and opened a legal case against the governing body to accelerate his well earned and overdue title shot.
But because of that, the WBC decided against ordering Whyte and Fury to fight at their annual convention in Mexico.
Hope is still not lost for the heavyweight contender and could see his crack at the title signed without it being mandated by the WBC.
Arum said: “Whyte’s people had brought an arbitration proceeding against the WBC.
“The WBC said they would not grant Whyte a mandatory position while the arbitration is pending. That was appropriate.
“Fury may end up fighting Whyte, we’ll see. But it won’t be with the requirement of the WBC. Whyte is an excellent fighter.
“When the time comes, and it will come soon, for Tyson to figure out his next opponent then Whyte should be at the top of the list.”

And in an interview with the WBC, when he attended their annual convention in Mexico, Mayweather admitted he does not miss competing.
And instead, he is focussing his efforts on adding to his property portfolio.
Mayweather, 44, said: “I’m OK. Floyd Mayweather made a lot of smart investments.
“One of the buildings I own is the tallest commercial building in America. So if you get a chance go to New York and check it out.
“This is my ninth sky scraper.”
The building Mayweather is referencing is the One Vanderbilt, a 93-story skyscraper in the Midtown Manhattan neighbourhood of New York City.

Mayweather has stakes in the building, which opened in 2020 after three years of construction.
After beating UFC star Conor McGregor, 33, the American icon hung up the gloves, but not for good.
He has since returned for two exhibition bouts, the first against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, 23, which he won in a round.
But this June, Mayweather faced YouTuber Logan Paul, 26, in an extraordinary spectacle bout, giving away TWO STONE in size.
Paul managed to take it the full eight round distance, technically avoiding defeat.
But Mayweather boasted before and after about walking away from the 24-minute ring cameo $100m (£74m) richer.
Despite having no desire to continue professional boxing, the unbeaten great will never lose the passion for making money.

‘I will beat him’ – Jake Paul says fight with UFC star Conor McGregor could ‘one hundred percent’ happen in two years

JAKE PAUL believes he will ‘one hundred percent’ fight Conor McGregor within two years time. The YouTube sensation has long called to face McGregor and even had a $50million offer on the table in 2020.

Despite that, McGregor has appeared uninterested in the lucrative boxing bout and has barley even acknowledged Paul, who is 4-0 as a boxer.
But the social media influencer is adamant they will one day share the ring, as he continues to gain more experience and respect in the sport.
Paul told Bleacher Report: “I will fight everybody. This started with me calling out McGregor.
“And people were like ‘this kids crazy, Conor will kill him’. But now this fight could happen within the next 24 months one hundred percent.
“I will beat him, people are seeing how serious I am being about this and are changing the way they think about it.”
Paul’s first two wins were against online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ and then ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37.

But then he set his sights on rivalling the UFC, as he knocked out retired welterweight Ben Askren, 37, in April.
And he returned in August to beat ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, over eight rounds.
Attempts to prize McGregor, 33, beaten by Floyd Mayweather, 44, on his boxing debut in 2017, have proven unsuccessful.
Instead, Paul fights Tommy Fury, 22, the brother to heavyweight champion Tyson, on December 18 in Florida.
And he claimed the Gypsy King is just one of several boxing icons to have supported his polarising splash in the sport.
Paul said: “I’m the best thing that’s happened to boxing in a century – period.
“The legends would agree – the Anthony Joshuas, the Mike Tysons, the Manny Pacquiaos, the Tyson Furys.
“They’ve all said what I’m doing for boxing is a breath of fresh air. “I think that debate started about a year ago – is Jake Paul good for boxing?
“I have silenced that, and I don’t think there’s anybody on the other side of the equation who thinks I’m bad for boxing.”
