Watch moment Terence Crawford is told he is down on cards against Shawn Porter… sparking stunning KO seconds later

TERENCE CRAWFORD was told Shawn Porter was leading their fight – sparking a stunning stoppage just seconds later. The unbeaten WBO welterweight champion was nine rounds into his title defence when an outsider from his corner said Porter was up.
Terence Crawford was told Shawn Porter was leading their fight
Shawn Porter was stopped moments later

Crawford’s sensational exchange and stunned look was all captured by Top Rank cameras, who revealed the remarkable conversation.
The American was told: “Hey, this fight is close. Porter’s up. This is (round) ten.”
Crawford, 34, looking out the ring, asked: “I’m up? He’s up? How?”
He is then told: “C’mon Bud, pay attention to me. Round ten coming up.”
Crawford the tells a member of his corner: “They say he up. They say he up.”
He then added: “He’s up? OK.”

Crawford, at the time, was ahead on all three judges scorecards, but was clearly fired up by the ringside claims that he was behind.
Almost instantly after the tenth bell sounded, he floored Porter with a ferocious combination.
Porter’s father and coach Kenny, could be heard saying: “Focus. Get your head together. Hands up.”
Referee Celestino Ruiz then says: “Are you OK? Would you like to continue?”
Porter recovered but was soon floored again with a similar combination of relentless uppercuts and hooks.
The challenger banged his gloves against the canvas and for a second time made it to his feet.
    ‘REF, THAT’S IT’
But Kenny shouted: “No, no. No, no, give me the towel. It’s over. No, give me the towel.”
In the other corner, Crawford’s coach Brian McIntyre, said: “Oh, they stopped it. They stopped it.”
Kenny, on the ring apron, barked: “Yo, ref. Ref, that’s that. That’s that. That’s it. That’s it.”
The fight was then waved off, giving Porter his fourth loss and unbeaten Crawford his 38th win.
Kenny in the post-fight interview explained his decision to throw the towel in was down to issues in the training camp.
He said: “Honestly? His preparation. He didn’t prepare like I wanted him to. That just makes me say, ‘You know what? I don’t want him in that situation.’
Shawn was hurt. And moving forward, this guy, like I said, he’s a sharp fighter. And my kid is at a deficit at that point. Coach Kenny Porter
“He fought a great fighter. The guy’s super sharp. And [Shawn is] at a deficit.
“It’s like fighting this guy blindfolded when you’re in a deficit like that. So I wasn’t going to let that happen to him.”
“When guys get to a certain level they believe they know what they’re doing and they don’t necessarily take all the information.
“So this is where we’re at with it. And I had to make that decision. It was an easy decision for me. Easy.
“He lives right across the street from me. I’ll be having breakfast with him in the morning.
“Shawn was hurt. And moving forward, this guy, like I said, he’s a sharp fighter. And my kid is at a deficit at that point.
“He can’t defend himself like he should. And I had to protect him.” More

The Watford warrior plans to throw caution to the wind in the crunch clash – with the same aggressive approach he used in his 2017 classic with the retired Klitschko.
During a JD Sports round table, he said: “I’m gonna bring that energy back. But I’m not gonna go into my training and all that.”
Joshua, 32, recorded a stunning 11th-round KO victory over Klitschko in front of a sold-out Wembley Stadium to become unified heavyweight champion.
And four years removed from his first coronation, the former champ has finally come to terms with the ‘war’ his showdown with Dr Steelhammer proved to be.
He admitted: “At the time, I didn’t know what type of fight it was.
“It’s only now I look back and I’m seeing, as you said, Wilder-Fury type fights and it’s a long time since we’ve had a fight like that. Since 2016.
    “It was a war.”

A date for Joshua’s second showdown with Usyk has yet to be finalised, although promoter Eddie Hearn recently revealed the fight is in the works for the spring.
The Matchroom Boxing chief said: “I think it will be realistically end of March, early April.
“Both guys are probably resting, although AJ will be doing a bit more preparation because he wants to get it right.
“There was a well-documented trip to America, just to look really, look, learn and see.
“I think he will go back out there towards the end of the year.
“We will start talking to Team Usyk over the next couple of weeks and pin down the venue.”

Joshua is determined to settle the score with his fellow Olympic gold medallist, telling iFL TV: “For me, I have one thing in my mind – that’s war, that’s murder, that’s to go out there and hurt the guy and take his soul to the point where he wants to give up.
“I’m done with f***ing losing. I’m done with trying to learn the sweet science. He might get thrown on the floor in the next fight because this is war.
“It’s just straight war, I’m annoyed. I’m boiling up even speaking about it – it’s that passion to win.”

Tyson Fury says he wants cross-gender bout vs Savannah Marshall as he’s ‘not interested’ in fighting Brit Joe Joyce

TYSON FURY has jokingly challenged WBO female middleweight champion Savannah Marshall to a cross-gender showdown after declaring he has ‘no interest’ in facing Joe Joyce. The Gypsy King last month produced a stunning victory in his trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder to retain his WBC heavyweight title.

Now he is currently helping his brother Tommy Fury train to face YouTuber Jake Paul next month.
The 33-year-old was expected to face Dillian Whyte in February or March only for red-tape to scupper his mandatory challenger’s prospects of a shot at the big time.
That has led to fellow Brit Joe Joyce declaring that he is free, ready and waiting to take on Fury instead.
However, when asked about that potential showdown by IFL TV, Fury said that there are only two men he wants to get in the ring.
And, tongue-in-cheekily, one woman – the 30-year-old Marshall.
Fury said: “I’m not really interested in fighting Joe Joyce.

“I’m probably looking at someone like Savannah Marshall to fight in a cross-gender heavyweight championship match-up.
“That is more interesting to me. I really do rate Savannah as a fighter, I think she’s an unbelievable fighter and I’d be really interested in making the fight to be honest.
“She’s a big girl and a super-middleweight I think, so I’d come down to like 17st from 20 and she could come up from like 12st or something and do a cross-gender fight… I’m being serious.”
When asked if he was frustrated by the latest setback to Whyte, he added: “I’m not bothered, I’m enjoying myself on a daily basis.
“But I’ll be looking forward to that fight with Savannah if Usyk and Joshua don’t happen.
“I’ve always said that I’m only interested in two fights – Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.
“Apart from that I’m not interested.
“But I would be open to fighting Savannah Marshall – the challenge is out there Savannah. Take it up.” More

Tyson Fury rules out Dillian Whyte or Joe Joyce fights and is ‘only interested’ in Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk

TYSON FURY has ruled out fighting Dillian Whyte or Joe Joyce – as he is ‘only interested’ in Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. Fury is looking to return in February, having brutally knocked out Deontay Wilder in their trilogy bout at the end of October.

Just two weeks before, Usyk dethroned Joshua – who has since invoked his right to an immediate rematch next year.
It leaves Fury’s chances of fighting for all four undisputed belts slim and instead looking for another opponent in the meantime.
Whyte, 33, and Joyce, 35, have both put their names forward, but the Gypsy King only has his eyes on Joshua, 32, and Usyk, 34.
Fury, 33, told iFL TV: “I always said I’m only interested in two fights, Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk.
“Apart from that, I’m not interested. If I don’t get them fights, not interested.”
Joshua is set to rematch Usyk by April, which would still be two months after Fury’s planned return in February.

And unless he is willing to sit and wait, he would be forced to find an alternative option, with AJ stepping aside out of the question.
Whyte is the WBC interim champion and in turn mandatory challenger for the full title.
But his prior legal case with the WBC, to speed up his much-earned shot at the belt, has actually prevented his fight with Fury from being ordered.
The unbeaten champ already insisted he will now sit and wait through another drawn out dispute, like he did with Wilder, 36, over the summer.
So Joyce, currently mandatory for the WBO belt, offered his services against ex-sparring partner Fury.
But the man himself doubled down on only wanting Joshua or Usyk and does not even want to entertain other options.
Fury said: “We’ll find out February, but today’s only November, so a lot can happen in a few months.”

But the WBC heavyweight champion has no intention of sharing the cage with The Maverick, telling iFL TV: “Logan can suck my balls.”
Fury’s and Paul’s younger brothers – Tommy and Jake – are currently gearing up for a December dust-up in Florida.
And Fury is confident Tommy would do a number on the social media phenoms in the same night.
He added: “Tommy would batter them both.
“I’m sure when he beats the one brother, the other one will want to fight him.
“And then he can fight him as well. So, double bubble, son.”

Fury – who is recovering from surgery on his elbows – is looking forward to travelling back to the States to corner his brother.
He said: “We’re looking forward to getting out there and having a good party on.”
Jake, 24, has made his feud with Tommy a personal one with several comments about his long-term girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague.
And Fury is itching to land a big right hand flush on the American’s jaw.

It followed after months of online goading, which continued at their press conference to promote the fight.
But Fury brushed aside Paul’s viral trolling and vowed to prove he is the true boxer between the pair.
Fury said: “Talking doesn’t win fights. I’m not engaged in all this because I don’t care. I’m not using Instagram because I don’t care.
“When he jumps through the ropes he will realise that I’m not a YouTuber.”
His brother, heavyweight champion Tyson, 33, added: “Poor old Jake Paul will get severely knocked out.”
Paul, 24, responded: “He doesn’t have a chin. He’s never been hit hard by anybody. He has fought nobody. He couldn’t crack an egg.”

In the American’s first three fights, Paul beat YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, also 37.
But in August, he improved to 4-0 with a win over eight rounds against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39.
On the undercard, Fury, 22, beat Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor, 32, to move to 7-0 and set up the mega-fight.
The 2019 Love Island star claimed afterwards he gate crashed Paul’s afterparty but was told to leave, as he predicted a KO in round one next month.
Fury added: “After our last fights on the same card, I rocked up with four people to his after-party.

And now he will finally get his chance, with SunSport first revealing how the pair will clash in a December bout after a breakthrough in negotiations.
The fight was confirmed on Friday, October 29 by promotor Frank Warren.
Paul last fought in August, beating Tyron Woodley by split decision, while Fury outpointed MMA fighter Anthony Taylor on the undercard.
Paul vs Fury will represent the former’s first dalliance with a fully-fledged pro boxer in his short career so far.
And although Fury has predominantly fought boxers throughout his career, many regard Paul to be one of his toughest tests yet.

    When is Paul vs Fury?

Jake Paul will fight Tommy Fury on Saturday, December 18.
The fight will take place at the Amelie Arena in Tampa.
The event should pull in thousands of spectators, with the arena having a capacity of 21,000.
With the fight being held in the USA, expect it to take place in the early hours of Sunday morning in the UK.

What TV channel is it on and can I live stream?

Paul vs Fury will be shown live on BT Sport Box Office.
BT Sport Box Office broadcasted Paul vs Woodley in August and they have an afinity with Fury through his promotional contract with Frank Warren.

Paul vs Woodley cost £16.95, but it’s likely Paul vs Fury could set you back around £19.95.
Check back to SunSport for confirmed PPV info.

    Paul vs Fury FULL CARD
As yet, the full undercard for fight night has not been confirmed.
But one fight between former NBA and NFL stars Deron Williams and Frank Gore has been announced.
The pair will clash in a four-round heavyweight bout.

    What has been said?
Jake Paul: “It’s finally official. Timothy had no choice but to sign the contract so he could finally pay his bar tabs, afford a shirt for the club, and stop living off Molly.
“December 18 in Tampa Bay I’m changing this w***er’s name to Tommy Fumbles and celebrating with Tom Brady.
“Pucker up Timmy… it’s time to kiss your last name and your family’s boxing legacy goodbye.”
Tommy Fury: “This is an easy fight for me. A real easy fight. I’ve been doing this job since I was 7.
“He’s not a boxer. He’s gonna see that when we fight.
“I will end his boxing career. There’s no more Jake Paul after we fight. That’s it.” More
