      TYSON FURY has backed Deontay Wilder to become heavyweight world champion once more. The pair have shared the ring three times, in one of the greatest trilogy series of this generation.

      They drew firstly in 2018, but Fury won the following two, most recently an 11th-round knockout in October.
      It has left Wilder, 36, considering retirement but the American has received support from his great rival.
      Fury, 33, told reporters in America: “My message to Deontay Wilder is – keep going champ, you can do it.
      “I believe in Deontay Wilder, he will be heavyweight champion once again. You better believe that.”
      Wilder made ten WBC title defences from 2015-2020, and has only ever been beaten by Fury.
      And despite previously vowing to come back better than after defeat, the Bronze Bomber is now in two minds.

      Despite boasting of a $100million payday, Mayweather is adamant it was his last cameo in the ring and was never the ring thing in the first place.
      He said: “I won’t go back to boxing, no I won’t.
      “Boxing was very good to me, because I could make smart investments on the outside, but now I want to help others to become champions like Gervonta Davis.

      But he was forced to pull out of the grudge match with a broken rib and chest infection.
      Just a month beforehand, heavyweight champion Fury, who was training his brother, posted a clip of him dropping a medicine ball on to Tommy’s stomach.
      The exercise, performed to boost core strength, could have been a factor in Tommy’s subsequent withdrawal, Paul, 24, claimed.
      He said on the MMA Hour: “I have seen the footage and who knows it is very possible. It is very possible that could break a rib for sure.
      “When I do that drill we take precautions and are careful because you hear stories of fighters getting injured while trying to work on their abs.”
      In Paul’s first three fights, he beat YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, also 37.

      This was Lomachenko’s second comeback win since a shock defeat to Teofimo Lopez, 24, in October 2020.
      But Lopez was stunned himself last month by George Kambosos Jr, 28, who captured the unified lightweight titles.
      Now Lomachenko has his eyes set on Aussie Kambosos and will even go into the new champ’s backyard if needed.
      He said: “I will go anywhere I need to go to fight him. I need this chance. And if God gives me this chance I’ll take it.”
      Also in the lightweight divisions are stars Devin Haney, 23, Ryan Garcia, 23, and Gervonta Davis, 27.
      Lomachenko added: “I said before I don’t like talking about myself.
      “We have in this weight division, we have a lot of great fighters. We have a lot of top fighters. So we can organise a lot of great fights in the future.”

      FRANK WARREN confirmed Tyson Fury is in talks for his ‘perfect homecoming’ fight against Dillian Whyte. And the promoter warned mandatory challenger Whyte will ‘see what elite level’ is like when he shares the ring with unbeaten Fury.

      Warren told the Daily Star: “Tyson Fury has been ordered to enter negotiations with Dillian Whyte for a defence of his WBC heavyweight title.
      “And that’s exactly what we are doing now – discussing what could be the perfect homecoming for the Gypsy King.
      “Tyson has no fear of taking on any challenger so once the decision was made by the WBC we were ready for it.
      “He has already beaten the most dangerous puncher in the division twice – three times if you count the first fight he was robbed of a win in – so why would anyone pose a threat to him?
      “Whyte will get his chance once we come to an agreement on a deal and he will get to see what elite level heavyweight boxing is.”
      Fury, 33, having just knocked out Deontay Wilder, 36, in October, revealed he wanted to fight Oleksandr Usyk, 34, for the undisputed crown next.

      As many rink rookies do, the former heavyweight champ needed the tiny children’s penguin balancing aid to stop him falling over.
      AJ stumbled as he weaved in and out of the crowds of other children and parents.
      He was wearing a rented pair of the bright orange ice skates available for hire at the attraction in Ascot, Berkshire.
      And he just about managed to avoid taking a KO-style tumble as he tried to get himself to the safety of the wall at the side.

      Arum was first treated to the arena singing Happy Birthday, followed by an American Pie classic.
      WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was also in New York supporting fellow countryman Lomachenko, who went on to breeze past his opponent and then call out undisputed lightweight champ George Kambosos.

      Boxing fans quickly noticed the size difference between the twohHeavyweights, with some believing Fury would ‘overwhelm’ the Ukrainian.
