Derek Chisora keeps up post-fight tradition by sharing Five Guys burger with Joseph Parker after epic rematch

DEREK CHISORA kept his post-fight tradition of sharing a Five Guys burger with his opponent going. After recent defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker, the British fan favourite has treated the travelling teams to a dressing room takeaway.

And following 12 brutal rounds in his rematch with Parker, which ended in a points loss for the Londoner, the pair toasted to a cheeseburger each.
Chisora, 37, was left fuming in May after losing a disputed split-decision against former WBO champion Parker, 29.
But the heavyweight veteran could have no such arguments in the subsequent rematch, which he somehow survived to see the final bell.
Chisora was floored three times but found a way to fight back every time and even threat a sensational comeback win every so often.
But Parker was a comfortable winner and settled the rivalry in convincing fashion.
He said after: “Derek always comes for war, he was one tough guy and never stopped coming forward until the end.

“I felt a lot stronger. It was important to start strong and not be negative from the beginning. You can see there are improvements to be made.
“Derek Chisora is a credit to the sport of boxing. The crowd went mental when he walked out. They just want to support him.”
Despite coming into the fight with 11 losses, Chisora’s unpredictable personality and ruthless aggression makes him a headline act.
But following a 12th and one-sided loss, Parker admitted he would like to see it be Chisora’s last.
He said: “Personally I’d like to see him walk away. He has given boxing everything, but that’s his decision.”

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2: UK start time TONIGHT, TV channel, live stream, undercard after Tommy Fury pulls out

JAKE PAUL faces former UFC star Tyron Woodley TONIGHT in a huge rematch after Tommy Fury dropped out. TNT had to withdraw after suffering a broken rib in training plus a bacterial chest infection, leaving the door open for YouTube star Paul to battle Woodley for a second time.
    🥊 PAUL VS WOODLEY 2 – LIVE BLOG 🥊
Tyron Woodley ROCKED Jake Paul in their first fight
The Problem Child defeated Woodley, 39, on points back in August, though question marks remain with Woodley rocking Paul for the first time in his career.
Paul, 24, said: “For me, the biggest thing to gain is proving people wrong from last time that thought he won, which is hilarious – including the judge who made it a split decision.
“People just need to realise how serious I take this and how a lot of these other professional fighters don’t train as hard as me.
“They’re not as prepared as me. And like, Tommy Fury, he pulled out of the fight because of some silly, little thing. I’ve fought with a broken nose. I’ve fought sick. The list goes on.
BETTING SPECIAL – GET JAKE PAUL AT 25/1 OR TYRON WOODLEY AT 50/1

Tommy Fury says he still hopes the fight is on next year
Why did Tommy Fury pull out?
Brit star Fury, 22, withdrew 12 days before the fight after suffering with a bacterial chest infection AND a broken rib.
Fury said: “I am absolutely heartbroken that I have been forced to withdraw from my fight with Jake Paul due to a bacterial chest infection and broken rib.
“The beginning of my camp was going so incredibly and I never expected anything to come in my way from a victory on December 18.
“I can’t express now disappointed I am and I really do hope we can get this fight rescheduled in the new year.
“I want this fight to happen more than anything.”
Woodley has said: “I feel like I won the [first] fight.
“But when I go back out there and beat his a** and win this fight, win by knockout, then go on to a trilogy and do it again and leave no doubt.
“That’s the real leave no doubt… This is basically what I should have done the first time. The third time [there] will be no doubt.”

Joseph Parker seals points win in Derek Chisora grudge match as brave Brit somehow lasts distance after three knockdowns

JOSEPH PARKER settled his Derek Chisora rivalry with a dominant points win but only after the brilliant British veteran displayed superhuman feats of courage. The 37-year-old nicknamed War climbed off the canvas once and received two more standing counts after ducking into a hat-trick of sickening uppercuts.

But the proud warrior slashed and slugged his way to the final bell before Parker was awarded a far more convincing decision than their original May meeting, the judges scoring the rematch: 115-110, 115-111 and 114-112.
A looping right hand floored Parker early in the opening round of their first clash, walloping Parker on the back of his head.
So the 29-year-old knew he had to be tuned in from the very opening second to stop a similarly slow and painful start.
Chisora made a great start in that narrow points loss and was expected to empty the tank early again, with a view of taking the result away from the judges’ scorecards following a string of bitter disappointments throughout his rollercoaster career.
But it was the Kiwi who made the more aggressive start, taking the centre of the ring and throwing a range of shots that Chisora caught and deflected.
But a right hook from Parker smashed into Chisora’s unguarded jaw and seemed to stun him, with a minute of the opener still to run.

The New Zealander eventually prevailed over his British counterpartCredit: PA
Chisora roared into the second with his first serious assault and he followed that up with a looped right hand that grazed Parker’s chin.
Parker then landed a couple of rasping uppercuts but Chisora’s famously granite whiskers absorbed them almost gratefully.
But the follow-up barrage damaged Chisora badly with big right straights and left hooks crunching into the banger who seemed to be flagging earlier than usual.
Chisora was stunned in the third by a pinpoint left-hook-right-hand piledriver and defied gravity to remain upright, the iron-skulled slugger showed super-human resilience to survive.
Parker looked to be playing into Chisora’s hands in the fourth, when he was trading up close, but then he detonated a sensational uppercut that savaged Chisora’s senses.
Only the ropes held Chisora up but referee Howard Foster dived in to start a count that reached eight.
In a moment of cool-headed genius, Chisora retreated to a corner and lured Parker in where he did not have the room to secure a finish, instead it was the Finchley warrior who ended the stanza hurling leather.
But just as Chisora was enjoying a string of scoring jabs he sunk into another thudding uppercut and was folded into the canvas for another eight count.
Chisora incredibly rose and rallied again and unfathomably ended the round battering Parker in a show of courage that had Manchester mystified.
Both behemoths were blowing hard by the eighth but with 30 seconds left Chisora dipped into a third massive uppercut and collapsed backwards into the ropes for a second standing count.
It looked desperate for Chisora in the ninth, with referee Howard Foster teetering on the edge of the exchanges and ready to dive in. But Chisora went back to the well and threw haymakers to stay in the contest.
But Chisora was almost floored by his own punch moments later when he missed so wildly, and with such desperation that he stumbled into the ropes again.
And former WBO world champion Parker and evergreen warhorse Del Boy made it to the final bell where they got a deserved ovation.
After the fight, Parker said: “He was one tough guy!
“He never stopped coming but we had practised the jab and uppercut so now we have a great Christmas.

“It’s hand painted by one of the greatest artists of our generation and features a Hermes Birkin bag sewed into the side as well as a diamond Cartier and Rolex watch.
    “2 days.”
    Just look at it…

    Jake Paul’s pre-fight diet
Paul looks in fantastic shape for his rematch with Woodley later on.
Just take a look below at what he’s been feasting on in preparation.
Jake Paul is cutting no corners with his diet
    Paul mocks Fury with t-shirt
Jake Paul had some fun at the weigh-in yesterday in Tampa, wearing a t-shirt which took aim at Tommy Fury.
The t-shirt read: ‘Tommy, this could’ve been you’ with an arrow point in the direction of Woodley, stood to his left.

    Paul gifts Woodley a ROLEX
In one of the more bizarre turnouts of the week, Jake Paul gifted Tyron Woodley a ROLEX during their head-to-head for Showtime earlier this week.
Paul said: He said: “As a gift of respect because it’s time for me to knock him out”, as he handed Woodley a wrapped present.
Woodley opened it up and was surprised to see a Rolex waiting for him.
Woodley responded: “I accept your gift. And all the bonuses, I accept it all. And I’m going to do the same thing on Saturday.
“This dude is crazy. Do I know about this watch? Yeah I know about this watch.
“Why wouldn’t I accept it? He put a bow on it and wrapped it, I’m not going to be disrespectful.
“I haven’t had an opponent do a lot of s*** that this dude do. Mentally, it’s warfare because you never know what to expect out of him.”

Why did Tommy Fury pull out?
“I am absolutely heartbroken that I have been forced to withdraw from my fight with Jake Paul due to a bacterial chest infection and broken rib.

    Tale of the tape
Here’s how both fighters stack up ahead of their huge rematch later tonight.

How to watch Paul vs Woodley 2
Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2 will be broadcast live on Showtime PPV in the US.
FITE.TV have exclusive rights in the UK and will be showing the fight on their PPV service for around £18.
The show is set to start at 2am GMT.
The main event is due to begin at 4.30am GMT.
    Good evening!
Hello there and welcome to SunSport’s live coverage of Jake Paul’s huge cruiserweight rematch with Tyron Woodley this evening in Tampa, Florida.
Paul had originally been scheduled to take on influencer-cum-boxer foe Tommy Fury but the Love Island star backed out of the clash with injury.
So Woodley, who lost via split decision back in August, has stepped in on late notice, and is gunning for revenge.
Woodley rocked Paul to his boots in the fourth round of their bout four months ago but failed to capitalise and ultimately succumbed to the judges scorecards.
This time, the former UFC fighter is coming for war – but so is Paul.
“I’M F***ING HIM UP, I’M F***ING HIM UP!,” Paul told Showtime’s Ariel Helwani at the weigh-in yesterday.
Elsewhere on the card, former NBA star Deion Williams is up against ex-NFL start Frank Gore, while female fighter Amanda Serrano is also in action.
Usual Jake Paul undercard suspects J’Leon Love and Anthony Taylor, who lost to Fury back in August, are on the bill too.
It should be a cracking night of action, so sit back, relax, set your alarms and don’t miss it.
We’ve got you covered through the night.

“We want to get the date done, and get him in the ring, as quickly as possible.”
Anthony Joshua is expected to progress with his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk as he tries to regain his IBF, WBA and WBO belts.
And that will end any hope of a Fury vs Usyk unifying bout next.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum recently said: “Why wouldn’t Fury respect Whyte?
“Heavyweights throw bombs. If he doesn’t respect him, he’ll be in a lot of trouble.
“Fury is enough of a professional, and a great fighter, and he knows that you don’t take a guy like Whyte lightly.
“We are talking to Whyte now to come to an arrangement to put the fight on in the UK.
“It will be a splendid fight and we are working hard to put it together.”
Whyte is coming off the back of his devastating knock-out win against Alexander Povetkin in March.
Fury has been in training camp and this week became the latest star to throw his support behind a charitable campaign to raise money for six-year-old West Ham fan Isla Caton.
The brave youngster has been battling neuroblastoma – the same childhood cancer inspiring Sunderland fan Bradley Lowery suffered with.
And the Gypsy King pledged signed goods and sent a video message to the little superstar.

Inside Anthony Joshua’s new ‘mental training’ plan after losing to Usyk

TWO time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has said he is now taking a more ‘mental approach’ to training after losing to Oleksandr Usyk. The 32-year-old said he is increasingly focusing on the mental aspects of his boxing training.

Speaking at an Under Armour panel, Joshua said he was turning to ‘uplifting activities’ to help put him in the right headspace.
“I’m not happy with what happened in my previous fight. You have to be angry at losing and it’s not acceptable,” he says.
“My losses should be put in my highlights reel really, as that’s the stuff that shapes you, it’s always on my mind.
“I don’t take losses well, I fight the best consistently, and I try to overcome obstacles.”
Joshua’s next fight is set for April 2022 and after September’s loss, he’s taking on a new approach.
Mental health is key to all of us, and can make a real impact for any athlete; it’s something Watford-born Joshua puts a lot of emphasis on.

Joshua says mental recovery is really important for him and explains that keeping his mental health in good condition helps him feel strong and perform at his best.
Keeping an eye on his social media usage is a crucial step in managing his mental health.
“It’s all about the environment I create around myself and the information I let in,” says Joshua.
“It’s too much of an effort to block out social media. If you like it, jump on it, but when you’re on it, control what you let into your life.
“If you use it, it’s fine, get the positives out of it.
“You have to fill your life with motivation, because life is hard.
“I’ve been at the bottom so I need to see things that are uplifting.”
Anthony Joshua’s top tips for training outside this winterChilly training doesn’t just have to involve sub-zero temperatures and sprinting in the snow.
“It’s important to just get outside and just get some sunshine,” says Joshua.
“Just going for a walk and getting some sunlight is great; it’s so important to be outside.”
If you’re anxious about cold weather workouts, start slow and build up your cold weather tolerance.
“Lots of little things impact us,” says Joshua.
“You need small targets. Small little steps will take you a long way.
“Cold training is good because it helps you learn how to deal with stress.
“It helps you become a better person, no matter what environment you are in.”

Another way he keeps his mental health topped up is with a chilly daily ritual.
While many influencers and athletes like to post photos of themselves luxuriously lounging in hot places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Joshua much prefers the cold, and Joshua likes to take a cold shower first thing.
It’s a shock to the system, and a boost for his mental health.
“A cold shower is one of the first things I do in the morning,” he says.
    “It’s all about being uncomfortable.
“Each day presents me with millions of obstacles and I just feel like if I can get through a 30 second cold shower, then I can deal with 10 minutes of stress.”
    LET’S GET PHYSICAL
Joshua, an Under Armour ambassador, takes his cold shower philosophy into the training ring too.
Icy weather training might be something he struggles with, but he says: “It’s that mental blockage that you need to overcome.”
He remembers his trainer telling him to go for a run outdoors, in freezing temperatures.
“I knew I had to go outside. The spartans and the vikings would always be outside, but I’m a new school guy.
“My coach showed me a video of someone running in the snow, so I knew what I had to do.
“I had to overcome my thoughts and I felt alive when I came back from that run.”
Training at low temperatures can be hugely beneficial for your physical and mental health, if you can get yourself out the door.
“Being in a warm environment relaxes you, you shut down,” says Joshua.
“The cold signals to your brain and the rest of your body that you need to wake up.
“It’s all about being switched on and that’s what cold weather training does for your mind and body.”
Eddie Hearn says Anthony Joshua step-aside talks axed and will now fight Usyk as planned More

The accidental collision left the WBC and IBF light heavyweight champ with a deep gash on his forehead.
Browne came away with a cut of his own, being opened up just above his eye.
Despite the cut, Beterbiev won the fight with an emphatic knockout.
The Russian hit Browne with a brutal body shot in round ten – which he failed to get up from before the count.
Fans would love to see Beterbiev take on arguably the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet, Canelo Alvarez.
But in order for that to happen, Canelo would have to go back to 175lbs.

“We are ready for the best – to be the best, you have to beat the best.

Celebrity fights like Paul vs Woodley are brutal, primal entertainment… but is it really boxing?

CELEBRITY fighting is back this weekend with a past-it former MMA welterweight taking on a light-heavyweight with a giant social media following. These freakshow acts should be treated as such, until someone is hurt and the whole sport of boxing has to pay while the circus skips town.

Most people have sod all else to entertain themselves with.
But it categorically is not boxing – they can turn pro, sell out arenas, have bonafide undercards and bulls*** belts on the line.
But Josh Taylor, Vasiliy Lomachenko, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, even great British journeymen like Chris Adaway and Lewis van de Poetsch – who have lost hundreds of fights between them – are not in the same sport or business.
These brave men risk life and limb.
And they do so based on talent, having been spotted by a grizzly old coach and then honed their technique in freezing cold, stinking gym.
They have seen their careers almost ruined by dodgy amateur decisions abroad, and tested by the unforgiving politics of the pro game.
That is boxing, that is magnificent, that is why parents who know all the dangers still take their girls and boys along to these glorious old buildings and entrust men – who look like rejects from the armed-and-dangerous wing – to teach them.
Jake Paul, Logan Paul, Tommy Fury, KSI, did some fighting because they were famous, because they knew it would be a fun way to boost their brand.
In the same way Ricky Gervais, Grant Bovey, Freddie Flintoff and Rio Ferdinand did a few years back.
In the playground or street, when someone shouts ‘fight’ only the most pious don’t sprint over to get a peek at the action.

The same buzz does not happen when a tennis grudge match breaks out over the park or two local enemies go on a really gruelling bike ride.
It’s primal and weird and uncivilised.
But we’re the same oddball species that used to cheer gladiators fighting to the death, or watch bears scrapping.. and we still love to go fishing.
They’re all nonsense mismatches anyway, like Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather.
Logan Paul vs Floyd was a farce, Jake Paul has skittled basketball players and pension claimers half his size.
The true mark of this grubby cash grab game – that the sports broadcasters and a few should-know-better pundits have flogged – is that the one time it threw up a decent 50-50 fight, between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul, the contest died on it’s backside.
Fury pulled out just before the first bonafide act in this pantomime.
Too much Instagram fame and drop-dead-gorgeousness to risk, thousands of pounds in trashy promotion down the drain.
You might try to blame boxing itself.
Big fights like Fury vs Joshua failing to materialise might lead the odd weirdo looking across the boundaries of taste to these car crash PPVs.

But a few high-profile bouts not getting made because of age-old boxing bureaucracy is not the reason these vague curiosities keep occurring.
Who in their right minds wants to watch a 6ft tall 14st 24-year-old fight a 39-year-old bloke who could no longer cut it in his own sport – before he was bunged to switch codes?
Not me. And if you think about it for long enough – sober – neither do you. More
