      Nate Diaz left Jake Paul’s fight with Tyron Woodley early as he was ‘bored’ – but team-mate pays YouTuber respect

      NATE DIAZ left Jake Paul’s rematch with Tyron Woodley before the bell even sounded – because he was ‘bored’. The UFC veteran was ringside in Florida to watch his training partner Chris Avila beat Anthony Taylor, a former sparring partner of Paul’s.

      In the night’s headliner, the YouTuber brutally knocked out former UFC champion Woodley, but Diaz was not there to see it.
      Avila, 28, told Helen Yee: “I think Jake Paul is a decent fighter, but we actually didn’t stick around for the fight.
      “I think Nate and the guys were getting bored and wanted to bounce. So we took off before the Jake Paul fight.”
      Diaz, 36, and Jorge Masvidal, 37, were both called out by Paul, 24, after the stunning KO.
      But according to Avila, his long-time team-mate has ‘no interest’ in fighting the social media sensation anyway.
      He said: “[Paul] had security guards trying to keep Nate away.

      “I think he probably thought Nate was going to call him out or something, but he has no interest in fighting him.
      “He hasn’t really earned that fight yet. Nate’s the star and I think that’s why they put us in the front row, they had his podcast guys behind him, which was a little weird.
      “You’d think they would have put their friends in front of us but they put them behind us like they were trying to build a fight, so we didn’t want to stick around and watch.”
      Paul was set to face Tommy Fury, 22, until the British former reality TV star pulled out with a broken rib and chest infection.
      Woodley, 39 then signed as a late replacement but was knocked out in the rematch, just three months after losing on points.
      He now joins YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Askren, 37, on Paul’s KO list.

      CONOR BENN joked he has more chance of facing Jake Paul than Amir Khan or Kell Brook. The rising British star has called out the veteran welterweight pair – who will finally fight in February – in the past.

      But he doubts either will fancy it, and rates his odds of fighting YouTuber-turned-5-0 boxer Paul higher than Khan or Brook.
      Benn told World Boxing News: “Amir Khan doesn’t want it. No chance he will want it, there’d be no way.
      “I’ve spoken to him about it. He’s retiring after the (Brook) fight. Kell Brook, I’d take the fight all day long.
      “I’d fight either of them, but I’ve got more of a chance to fight Jake Paul, It’s one of them situations — why would they want to fight me?”
      Benn, 25, is 20-0 and recently scored a stunning knockout against former world champion Chris Algieri, 37.
      And he is on a different trajectory to Khan and Brook, both 35, who will meet in a grudge match in Manchester, after years of feuding.

      Benn has sparred Brook before and fancies his chances against Khan – despite having his eyes busted against Gennady Golovkin, 39, and Errol Spence, 31.
      He said: “It’s a 50-50 fight, it’s 10 years too late, but it’s still a 50-50 fight. Khan’s chin is very vulnerable. There’s no secret there.
      “But Kell Brook has had both his eyes fractured, so it’s like who’s got what left.
      “But I’m tipping Brook. More durable. I don’t think Khan has the power like Gennadiy Golovkin or Spence to break his eye socket.

      But the British contender has taken the governing body to arbitration over the amount he is owed in purse splits.
      With a hearing set for March, it leaves Fury potentially returning in a non-title fight.
      And his US promoter Arum named ex-champion Ruiz and Robert Helenius as opponents in the running.
      He told  iFL TV: “Frank Warren and I are looking for another opponent to do Fury’s fight in Manchester or in Las Vegas, depending on who the opponent is.
      “So we’re looking at Andy Ruiz as a possibility, he’s available.
      “This big Finnish kid, who looked very good on the semi-wind up on the Fury – Wilder card, Helenius, big, big Finnish kid, who can really fight.
      “Those are the two principal guys. I guess if it’s Helenius we do it in the UK and if it was Ruiz, we do the fight in Las Vegas.”

      Frank Warren previously claimed Whyte, 33, believes he is owed 45 per cent of a potential purse due to his WBC ‘interim’ title.
      But Warren admitted they are under the impression the challenger will only be afforded a 20 per cent split.

      Fury, 33, had been touted for a UK homecoming, having headlined Stateside in his last five fights and not boxing at home since 2018.
      But his next opponent, and the coronavirus pandemic, will determine the location of his return next year.
      Arum said: “I’d love to do his next fight in the United States, Frank wants to do a fight for him in the UK and I’m all in with that.
      “And Tyson I think prefers to do his next fight in Manchester, but I really think that we’re gonna have to take a look at the whole situation.
      “The pandemic is the big actor here. If it continues, I know [the UK] has shut down all sports in the month of January, and that could continue into February and March.
      “And if that looks like it’s going to happen, I think we’re not gonna shut down in the United States, particularly not Nevada which has a big tourist economy.”

      Deontay Wilder has helped Tyson Fury become ‘a living legend’ says Gypsy King’s sparring partner

      TYSON FURY became a ‘living legend’ after his dramatic trilogy bout win over Deontay Wilder. That is the view of cruiserweight contender Andrey Mangushev, who spent time sparring and training with the Gypsy King in Miami this summer.

      Months later, Fury scored a dramatic knockout win against Wilder in their third encounter, with both men winning the respect of Mangushev.
      He told World Boxing News: “For me, it was a great honor to train together with a great person. In my opinion, the best heavyweight of all times is Tyson Fury.
      “After the third fight with Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury became a living legend. We know this is because Deontay Wilder is a very powerful boxer.
      “Wilder deserves a lot of respect, not only as a unique puncher but also as a true warrior.
      “Even though he lost twice, he never gave up and continued fighting. This deserves a lot of respect.”
      Fury, 33, and Wilder, 36, first fought in 2018, which ended in a contentious draw.

      But the unbeaten Brit made no mistake in the rematch and subsequent trilogy, winning in seven and then 11 rounds.
      Fury wanted to face Oleksandr Usyk – who beat Anthony Joshua in September – next in an undisputed title decider.
      But instead, Usyk, 34, is contracted to an immediate rematch with Joshua, 32, set for April 2022.
      Russian Mangushev, 23, who stands 6ft 7in, still believes a future fight between the Ukrainian and Fury is ‘one of the most anticipated events’ in boxing.
      He said: “I am very excited for the undisputed championship fight between Tyson and Usyk.
      “I think that it will not only be a spectacular fight amongst two of the smartest boxers. But also a clash of two different styles and tactics.
      “Considering the fact that Usyk went up in weight, it will be a tough challenge for him.
      “He probably doesn’t expect what kind of power he will have to deal with in that fight. It is one of the most anticipated events.
      “Tyson became a respected mentor for me. Not only in boxing but also as a highly spiritual person and a true philanthropist.”

      Sharing a Christmas pose photo on Instagram, Hall wrote: “5kg / 11lbs on over the Xmas weekend!!!
      “Weighed in at 163kg today and fair to say the run was a little harder this morning but training legs was a breeze.
      “My nutritionist said I could eat and drink whatever I wanted…. Well after a year of chicken, rice and veg I think my body and mind needed it!
      “Hope everyone enjoyed themselves and spent some quality time with the family.”

      But according to the Mirror, Paul is set to take some time off from boxing to focus on promoting Serrano.
      Paul signed Serrano to his Most Valuable Promotions earlier this year and it looks like he could play a part in making one of the biggest fights in women’s boxing history.
      The 24-year-old will spend most of early 2022 promoting the fight which will be co-promoted with Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn.
      Promoting Serrano is a ‘massive achievement’, says Paul.
      Speaking on his brother Logan’s Impulsive podcast, he said: “She’s put in thousands and hundreds of hours in the gym and she deserves the big payday that she’s going to get.

      Paul, 24, was included in Shields’, along with Ema Kozi, Savannah Marshall, Thurman and Taylor.

      The unbeaten female boxer in 2019 claimed she could beat Thurman and Shawn Porter, 34.
      Shields told TMZ Sports: “I spar with men. And, I mean, I drop men. I bust men nose, I beat men up all the time.
      “If I was to say which is the guy, I think I could beat — I think I could beat up Keith Thurman. I really do.
      “I think I could beat up Keith Thurman, even though they’re like ‘Oh, he beat Shawn Porter.’
