CHARLES MARTIN has called out Deontay Wilder and claimed the former WBC heavyweight champion is lacking ‘in a lot of areas’.The American heavyweights twice held talks about getting it on inside the ring during 2020.

But those were ended when the Bronze Bomber won an arbitration case which secured his trilogy clash against Tyson Fury.
The 36-year-old was beaten by the Gypsy King and has since hinted at retirement.
Meanwhile Martin will face Luis Ortiz on January 1 in an IBF eliminator instead as he vies to get into the world title picture.
Ahead of that, Martin spoke to Sky Sports about that potential showdown with Wilder and insists he was confident of victory due to the former champ lacking a number of skills.
Martin, 35, said: “It would have been a great opportunity.
“I always knew there was a possibility that things wouldn’t go in my favour, but I had still prepared myself mentally.

“I was able to treat it like a championship fight. I gave 100 per cent effort even knowing there was a possibility it could fall through.”
Martin added: “He lacks in a lot of areas. I am pretty difficult to hit. You can’t hit me flush because I never just come in [straight]. I am always strategic.”
Martin was also recently in talks to face another ex-world champ in Andy Ruiz Jr.
But that potential showdown was scuppered when the Mexican was forced to undergo knee surgery.

But, since their Los Angeles rematch, the two have formed a friendship, filming a podcast and comedy show together.
Despite the new found respect, a lucrative trilogy bout between the two cannot be ruled out.

KSI
The British former gamer helped start the trend of social media stars lacing up the boxing gloves.
KSI – real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji – beat Joe Weller in round three of their white collar bout.
Soon after, he called out Paul and the American’s brother Jake, setting up the grudge match.
But six rounds of exhibition action could not separate KSI, 28, and Paul, 26, paving the way for a rematch.
KSI prevailed following a quick start but had to overcome a knockdown and illegal blow on the floor.
It cost Paul a two point deduction and ultimately the fight, losing by split-decision.
KSI has continued to train and entered talks to fight younger brother Jake, but amid the coronavirus pandemic, his return has been shelved.

Following Paul’s points loss to KSI, he only returned this June, but did so in an extraordinary exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather.
The podcaster showed clear improvement – despite being in there with a boxing legend – and took Mayweather the distance.
It meant technically, as no knockout was scored, Paul avoided defeat.
He weighed a massive TWO STONE more than Mayweather, 44, but was vastly outmatched in terms of experience.
Paul has since been in rumoured talks to fight heavyweight icon Mike Tyson, 55, who in November 2020 made an exhibition return.
But more recently, Paul has been nursing a broken hand, which has prevented him from returning.
Interestingly, he admitted KSI hit harder than Mayweather, the self proclaimed ‘Best Ever’.

The duo scrapped to a draw over six rounds as amateurs, before Eddie Hearn promoted the second fight, as pros, in the US.

Afterwards, he called out a number of UFC stars, including Masvidal and Chavez Jr.
But Atlas is urging Paul to take on Masvidal, who he says is a “pretty good striker”.
Atlas told The Schmo: “I’d like to see him – it’s probably not going to happen – but if he fought Masvidal, Masvidal is a pretty good striker.
“That’d be interesting. That would get my attention. Obviously, Diaz.
“The guy that he beat, Woodley, was a real fighter. But he was just about retired. He was 41, 42 years old, and never a tremendous striker; better on the mat; not a real busy guy. So, he picked the spot pretty good.
“But it’d be a little more interesting if he fought a Masvidal because Masvidal, he’s a better striker, and he’s more versatile. He could use his legs. He could pick spots. He could look to set up the right hand.

Paul and Masvidal share bad blood, despite once being pals and training together.
Appearing on his brother Logan’s podcast Impaulsive, Paul made an offer to Gamebred for a fight.
Paul said: “Masvidal is like, ‘I only fight the best people or I fight for money, and you’re neither one of those’.
“Masvidal, I’ve got an offer for you right now: $5m guarantee, plus percentage of pay-per-views.
“That’s the most you would have ever made in a fight, ever. So now you can’t say, ‘I either fight the best, or I fight for money.’
“Let’s make it happen.”
But Masvidal shut down the offer immediately. “The UFC isn’t going to let me go for chump change,” he wrote on social media.
“Make that 20 guaranteed plus PPV and I’m sure the UFC will be ok with it as long as I break them off their fee and then I’ll gladly break your face.
“If the UFC still says no because the money is still too low then come over to the UFC, sign a one-fight deal and we can stipulate I can only box in the cage.

Instead, Weidman believes the YouTuber would be better off aiming his sights at Silva, who was released by Dana White last year.
Weidman said: “I would love to see him fight Anderson Silva.
“He’s calling out all these fighters with UFC contracts. I don’t think he’s really – none of those are really going to happen at this point.
“The UFC would have to get behind it almost like a Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather type match.
“But unless you’re drawing in $500 million like the Mayweather and Conor McGregor fights were doing, the UFC’s not doing that because they want to split it.
“They would split it, but if it’s not that type of money, they’re not doing it. So (we’re) wasting our time even talking about (Nate) Diaz, (Jorge) Masvidal and (Kamaru) Usman.”
