      That has led to him ditching marijuana – but he claims that led to the ‘worst week’ of 2021.
      Paul, 26, posted: “Super fun New Year’s story. I quit smoking weed on December 24, been having some pretty nasty withdrawals (loss of appetite, insomnia, extreme irritability) — by far the hardest week of 2021 for me.
      “Then yesterday on NYE, I got food poisoning (which was odd because all I had was a tiny croissant and a latte in the morning).
      “I threw up 40+ times and spent the evening sweating in bed… AND all the pharmacies were closed so I couldn’t get any medicine.
      “I was so dehydrated that I begged the only emergency ambulance in the city to hook me up to an IV so I could replenish and go out with my friends.
      “They said it wasn’t possible unless they took me to the hospital. Obviously f*** that.

      Paul continued: “Coincidentally, this is the third New Year’s in a row where I’ve been deathly ill, so I theorised: perhaps life has made the beginning of the past few years a nightmare for me so I appreciate the remaining 364 days. I consider it an involuntary ‘reset.’
      “Having been physically and mentally humbled (again), it’s only up from here.
      “I’m feeling much better today, and I know this year is going to be astronomical for me.

      Logan started his boxing career with a white collar draw against fellow YouTuber KSI in 2018.
      The pair fought again professionally in a rematch a year later, a bout that was won by KSI.
      Logan, who returned to the ring with an exhibition fight against Floyd Mayweather last summer, and KSI have now been teasing a mystery announcement for January 4. More

      Woodley faceplanted the canvas after being cracked with a huge overhand right, a moment he couldn’t immediately recall according to his coach Din Thomas.
      During an appearance on Sirius XM Radio, Thomas said of the fight: “I think he went through a series of different emotions.
      “I remember standing inside the ring as soon as it happened and he was like, ‘No, no, when do I go back out?’
      “He didn’t even know, right when it happened, he thought it was in between rounds and I’m sure he was probably wondering why everybody was standing inside the ring.
      “He didn’t even know at that moment.”
      Thomas, like many others, was left gobsmacked by Paul’s viral stoppage of The Chosen One.

      He continued: “When I got out of the ring, I really just sat there, just in disbelief.
      “That is really what the beginning was, disbelief, you couldn’t believe that just happened.
      “Then when we got to the back everyone on the team was disappointed like I can’t just believe that happened.
      “Even him, he was going back-and-forth.
      “The guy that runs High Rollerz, well he was in the back and he brought his daughter who was probably four-years-old and when Tyron saw her he was like, ‘Hey, I’m OK, don’t worry.’

      But that’s news to McGregor’s long-time coach and good friend Kavanagh, who hasn’t heard any serious rumblings about The Notorious potentially facing the former Disney star.
      When asked if Paul is a potential future opponent, Kavanagh told The Mirror: “He might talk to Audie all the time, but no.
      “I heard something about Jake Paul being managed by an ex-UFC CFO [Chief Financial Officer].
      “And I guess it’s interesting to hear some of the negotiation tactics by that big organisation being leaked through Jake Paul, so it’s kind of fun to follow that.
      “But as for Conor vs Jake, I’ve honestly never once heard that, and I’ve heard some very crazy things, but that’s never been suggested.”
      McGregor, 33, has two fights left on his contract with the UFC but recently revealed he wasn’t against the idea of facing Paul or his elder brother Logan.

      The governing body gave the green light for the dust-up to take place in 2022, with the winner of Makabu and challenger Thabiso Mchunu to face Canelo next.
      Canelo has admitted it was his trainer Eddy Reynoso who came up with the plan for him to put on 32lbs and jump up to cruiserweight without even consulting hin.
      Meanwhile promoter Eddie Hearn has stated Canelo could move up to heavyweight as he declared the Guadalajara native aims to make history.
      And Canelo’s stablemate Frank Sanchez, who outpointed heavyweight Christian Hammer this weekend, shares similar views with Hearn.
      He believes that he can become a world champion in the glamour division to compete with the top boxers, though he failed to mention any specific opponents for his training partner.

      As Joshua trained on the bag, Mayweather was seen slumped on the floor alongside him.
      At one stage, 50-0 veteran Money, 44, pulled AJ to one side for a quick chat, before the heavyweight got back down to business on the aqua bag.

      White doubled down on that suggestion on Saturday night after Paul made his list of demands to fight in the UFC, which prompted the former Disney star to make another video addressing the veteran promoter.

      Hero boxer left unrecognisable after horror injuries from fighting off bear that killed pal on fishing trip

      A HERO boxer who fought off a bear that killed one of his friends on a fishing trip has been left unrecognisable by his injuries. Ilya Medvedev, 24, made his first public appearance after he stabbed to death a brown bear that attacked him and his pal Vyacheslav ‘Slava’ Dudnik, 48.

      Slava did not survive the attack, but the promising young fighter managed to fight off and kill the animal.
      The boxer, who has taken part in the national competitions, had initially tried to shoot the beast in a desperate attempt to defend himself.
      However, after the huge bear had knocked the gun out of his hands, he was forced to finish it off with knife.
      Ilya was taken to hospital by boat where he had been recovering from serve injuries to his head and limbs.
      He is due to undergo extensive facial reconstruction as he continues his recovery after the attack in October.
      London 2012 Olympic gold medalist Egor Mekhontsev dubbed him a “real hero” as he posed with him at a boxing event in Russia.

      Mekhontsev shared a picture of himself posing with Ilya on Instagram – which was liked nearly 2,000 times.
      He said that the attack left Ilya in medically induced coma.
      And he said he believes the young man’s boxing skills helped him fight off the raging animal, hailing him as a “real fighter”.
      “Now Ilya is conducting rehabilitation after the experience and preparing for further operations,” the champ wrote.
      Mekhontsev went on: “Many have read his story in the press of when he went fishing with two friends and met a bear that attacked the guys.

      “The bear killed one fisherman right away, then took to our hero, Ilya Medvedev.
      “He was already under the bear and it mutilated him, trying to tear him apart. Ilya had very few chances to survive… he survived on his own and saved his friend.
      “In his pocket, he fumbled for a knife while the bear tormented him, and stabbed the bear several times with the knife.
      “As it turned out later, these were blows to the vital organs of the bear. The bear retreated and died not far from him.”
      Reports at the time said the bear attacked Ilya’s pal Slava before charging at the young boxer.
      Another fisherman Denis Chebotar, 41, was securing their small boat on the river banks at the time, heard shouts of “bear” and then shots from a gun.
      He said: “When I reached the spot, I saw Slava dead.”
      “He had time to shoot twice, then obviously retreated, recharged, and made two more shots,” onlooker Chebotar explained.
      “The fifth cartridge was not completely into the chamber. He had no time.”
      After miraculously defeating the brown bear, which can weigh up to 600kg, Chebotar dragged the “barely alive” boxer to the boat and delivered him to the nearest hospital.
      The Tyumen Boxing Federation also backed Medvedev on social media as they wished him a happy birthday last week.
      “We wish Ilya a speedy recovery, good health, good spirits and peace of mind,” the federation said.
