Across two decades, Sugar Ray dazzled us all – even winning two gold medals.
He was welterweight champ, and held the welterweight championship from all four of boxing’s major sanctioning bodies.
And that’s not all. The £88million man won the middleweight, lighter middleweight, super middleweight, and heavyweight championships during his time.
7. Tyson Fury, £100million
Thanks to his epic Deontay Wilder trilogy fights, the Gypsy King’s net worth has risen greatly.
His first with the American impressed ESPN so much they handed him a £80m contract for five fights.
With still plenty of life in the tank, the 33-year-old could feature even higher in the list if he gets his dream fight against Joshua.

6. Lennox Lewis, £103million
The award for richest British boxer on the list goes to former heavyweight champ Lennox Lewis.
Wins against Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Vitali Klitschko earned Lennox some major pay days.
He retired after beating Klitschko, leaving behind the WBC, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles.
5. Canelo Alvarez, £105million
Alvarez is the highest current fighter on the list, and has the potential to be highest ever.
He is the biggest draw in the sport since Floyd Mayweather retired, drawing scores of fans to his fights.
It was nine years ago that his fight against Mayweather became the third highest watched boxing match of all time.
Since then, he’s had 15 more PPV contests bought by over a million people.

4. Oscar de la Hoya, £148million
Before Mayweather, there was Oscar de la Hoya.
The original ‘money’ fighter, he won the super featherweight, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight light middleweight and middleweight titles.
De la Hoya’s wealth has also been supplemented by founding Golden Boy Promotions, which Canelo fought on.
3. Manny Pacquiao, £163million
It was unfortunate for Pacquiao that Mayweather was in his division, otherwise we’d be talking about the greatest of all time.
The Filipino legend is the only boxer to ever win twelve major world titles in eight different weight divisions.
However, last year, at the age of 42, he finally called time on his legacy to focus on his political career.

2. George Foreman, £222million
One of the best heavyweights of all-time, Foreman made good money fighting the likes of Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and Evander Holyfield.
His record wasn’t too shabby either, winning 76 of 81 fights.
But that all pales into insignificance when you compare it to his famous grills.
The George Foreman Grill, itself, made a mega £200 million alone.

They don’t call the unbeaten Mayweather ‘Money’ for nothing.
He won the super featherweight, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight, and light middleweight titles to finish with a 50-0 record.
Amazingly, four of the most watched PPV boxing fights of all-time feature him, when he took on Manny Pacquiao, Conor McGregor, Canelo Alvarez, and Oscar de la Hoya.
Of course, he earned the largest purse from those bouts too.

MMA star AJ McKee is gunning for Conor McGregor AND Floyd Mayweather.The current Bellator Featherweight Champion, 26, has revealed he would love to test his skills against the best, including Notorious and Mayweather, in a boxing contest.

McKee has made a habit of calling out ‘Money’ in the past, and he told TMZ of his wish to step into the ring with the undefeated boxer.
He said: “I wanna test my skills against some of the best and that’s why I’ve always called out Floyd. It’s not like, ‘Oh, I wanna beat Floyd’.
“I wanna test my skills in hand-to-hand combat with one of the best athletes in hand-to-hand combat.”
A TMZ videographer also asked AJ his thoughts about fighting Conor McGregor, and the Californian said he would be proud to slug it out with the Irishman.
He said: “I’m down for anybody. If it’s 145(lbs), 155, 170. In boxing, I’ll go up 3 weight classes.”
Mayweather and McGregor famously boxed one another in a 2017 exhibition contest.

Floyd won the bout by TKO in the 10th round, but both fighters earned a huge pay day, somewhere in the region of £75million each, and could be set for a rematch.
But, before he fights McGregor or Mayweather, McKee has won more dream to conquer in the Bellator, after disposing of Patricio “Pitbull” Freire and winning the 145 lb. million dollar tournament.
“I would like to be double champ,” AJ told TMZ.
“Becoming double champ is definitely bucket list. Be a champ-champ and then see where the path lies after that.”

Hearn, 42, met with him in Monaco that year but didn’t think he’d ever get back to title contention.
Lifting the lid on what happened, Anthony Joshua’s promoter told the Boxing Social podcast: “It’s hard because AJ is a close friend of mine.
“I always wanted them two to fight have AJ be our guy and I could just imagine beating him.
“With Tyson, I flew him out to Monaco and he was about 26-stone.
“He was sweating, and I just thought to myself ‘you ain’t ever fighting again’.
“So the plan was to have two easy fights, by that we meant the likes of Sefer Seferi which he did, but then have a step-up and fight like Manuel Charr.
