      Trainer Rob McCracken hatched a plan to try to outbox the southpaw genius on the night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
      But the tactic backfired spectacularly and AJ has been working with new trainers ever since.
      Joshua has been on a tour of the US and Dubai auditioning new trainers like Eddy Reynoso, Virgil Hunter and Floyd Mayweather, with McCracken set to take the fall.
      Last week, Hearn claimed changing trainers would be a ‘huge risk’ – but has now claimed a shake-up is on the cards.
      On Joshua, Hearn told iFL TV: “He’s been working hard.
      “Obviously, his trip to America and subsequently training in the UK with various people… trainers flying in.

      “I think AJ will make an announcement when camp starts, which I guess will be end of January, early February.
      “But he’s worked hard to get it right.
      “A lot of people have said, ‘do you think it’s risky to bring in a new trainer?’
      “I flip that and say, ‘do you think it’s risky to not be comfortable with your setup or your surroundings?’
      “He’s put the work in to make sure he gets it right.
      “I guess there’ll be an announcement regarding his training team when camp gets underway.”
      When asked if he believes McCracken will stay play a role in AJ’s camp, Hearn hinted he would.
      The Matchroom chief continued: “He’ll always be involved in some way.
      “He’s more than just a trainer to Anthony Joshua… he’s a mentor, an advisor.
      “Those two will always talk – in what capacity, I don’t know. I’ll leave that to AJ to announce.

      TYSON FURY named Filip Hrgovic vs Tony Yoka as the eliminator fight he wants to see next for the right to a shot at Oleksandr Usyk’s IBF world title.The Gypsy King, 33, took to social media on Wednesday as he called on the promoters to get the match-up organised.

      Fury looks set to face Dillian Whyte in his next outing rather than Oleksandr Usyk
      He wrote on his Instagram story: “Great fight guys, can’t wait for this fight,” followed by a series of popcorn emojis.
      Fury, who is on course to fight Dillian Whyte next, is keeping a close eye on proceedings surrounding Usyk following his stunning win over Anthony Joshua last year.
      That saw him claim AJ’s WBA, WBO and IBF belts and wreck any hopes of a bumper Fury vs Joshua British showdown.
      And if Usyk beats Joshua in April, with another fight set for the UK, it could finally give Fury the chance to unify the heavyweight division.
      However, the Ukrainian will at some point need to face his mandatory challengers.
      And that is why Fury highlighted the potential bust-up between Hrgovic and Yoka – which would keep the two dangerous heavyweights out of his path for the time being.

      Hrgovic, 29, is ranked as the No2 IBF heavyweight behind Charles Martin and has a perfect 14-0 pro boxing record.
      But Martin lost to Luis Ortiz on New Year’s Day, who in turn injured his hand while Joseph Parker is understood to have ducked a fight with Hrgovic because it did not pay enough.
      Joshua is No4 on the IBF list but will not need to go through an eliminator to get his shot at revenge.
      So the next on the list is Yoka.
      Hrgovic’s promoters insist they have made contact with the 11-0 nicknamed Artist – but have got nothing back.
      Nisse Sauerland, who represents El Animal, told Sky Sports. “Still nothing. Haven’t heard a thing.”
      Hrgovic reiterated to Yoka: “Sign the contract, make the fight. Now you have your chance. What are you going to do?”

      Frenchman Yoka, 29, was due to face Martin Bakole this month but that fight had to be delayed due to Covid and could be rearranged for March.
      To make matters more complicated, the IBF have told Hrgovic and Yoka they have until 10pm on Thursday to get a deal done.
      Yoka beat Croatian Hrgovic at the 2016 Rio Olympics and went on to beat Joe Joyce to win gold while Hrgovic claimed bronze.
      Should the pair fail to sort out a professional rematch, Joyce would be next on the list but, as the No1 for the WBO, would likely go down that route.
      And that would make Agit Kabayel the next in line for Hrgovic, who is understandably desperate to get an eliminator sorted and give him a chance at a world title. More

      YouTuber star Money Kicks – real name Rashed Belhasa – has since revealed he is in talks to be the opponent.
      In an interview with Sky Sports, Belhasa revealed the bout will be over eight rounds and will be a legitimate contest.
      He added: “Mayweather is too fast – I need to be close and just go crazy on him!
      “I won’t lie to myself. Entering the ring with him is an honour. I will try my best. You never know – any punch can land, and I have heavy hands.”
      “If he underestimates me? A punch can come. Anything can happen. I am much taller than him.

      Bellew, 39, hit out at Paul online, after the YouTuber-turned prizefighter claimed he is ‘carrying the sport of boxing’.
      And the ex-cruiserweight champion slammed the American for failing to fight a pro boxer in his 5-0 career so far.
      Bellew, who retired in 2018, said: “First of all, I’ve got no hate or malice towards Jake Paul, crack on, do what you’re doing, it’s great.
      “But in no way shape or form can you claim to carry my sport you absolute f***ing muppet, he hasn’t even fought a boxer yet.
      “So how can you claim to be carrying the sport when you haven’t fought someone who comes from my sport, it’s unbelievable!
      “I don’t like the fact it’s labelled a boxing match because he’s not facing a boxer.”
      Tommy Fury, 22, was set to be Paul’s first opponent with prior pro boxing experience.

      But Fury was forced to pull out with a broken rib and bacterial chest infection, with Tyron Woodley filling in as his replacement.
      Paul, 24, had beaten Woodley, 39, only four months earlier on points, but knocked out the ex-UFC champion in round six of their rematch.
      It added to KO’s over YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.
      But without any of those being boxers, Bellew urged Paul to fight UFC legend Anderson Silva, 46, who at least has a 2-1 record in the ring.
      He said: “If he really wants to fight a boxer, I can tell you someone he can face, Anderson Silva.
      “Anderson Silva is an MMA guy, so he’s not a traditional boxer, but, he has beaten a boxer and he hasn’t just beaten any boxer, he’s beaten the former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
      “Face someone like him then we can listen to you talk about being a boxer, but until you face a boxer you can’t state that you’re a boxer and last thing you need to do is say you’re carrying my sport.”

      Gervonta Davis could be ordered by WBA to fight unified lightweight champion George Kambosos ‘in the next few months’

      GERVONTA DAVIS could be ordered into a super-fight with George Kambosos by the WBA. The American currently holds the governing bodies secondary ‘Regular’ belt.

      In the WBA’s bid to merge their two divisional titles together, Davis, 27, could be in line to face Kambosos.
      And according to World Boxing News, the match-up may be mandated ‘in the next few months or by the end of the year’.
      Kambosos, 28, won the WBA belt, along with the WBO, IBF and WBC ‘Franchise’ straps in a shock win over Teofimo Lopez, 24, in November.
      The Australian became a sensation overnight following the upset and is now in a position to call the shots.
      Devin Haney, 23, who has the full WBC title, has called for an undisputed title decider.
      But Vasilily Lomachenko, 33, and Ryan Garcia, 23, are among the other names to also challenge newly-crowned unified king Kambosos.
      And the man himself admitted all the main players at 135lb are under consideration for his next fight, which he wants back home in a stadium.

      UFC CHAMPION Aljamain Sterling claimed Jake Paul would ‘really hurt’ Anderson Silva – if he lands the right shot. MMA legend Silva has long been touted as a potential opponent for the YouTube star-turned-prizefighter.

      And despite Silva’s wealth of experience in the cage, Paul is 5-0 as a boxer and naturally the bigger man.
      It leads to fears from bantamweight Sterling, 32, who questioned the Brazilian’s punch resistance now at the veteran age of 46.
      He said on his YouTube channel: “I know Anderson Silva was supposedly a frontrunner to fight Jake.
      “If Jake were to connect, I think he would really hurt Anderson. I think Paul is going to tie him up, lean on him.
      “He’s a young guy, he’s going to grab him. Against [Tyron] Woodley, he clinched 30 times over the first five rounds.
      “With this one, Silva’s got hands. But the only thing is, can he take a shot?”

      Sons Kalyl and Gabriel – both kickboxers – were captured sparring with their legendary dad in California.
      And they could not get near the middleweight great, who was slipping and sliding for fun.
      At one point, Silva even floors one of his sons with a perfect leg sweep.
      The veteran southpaw in 2020 left the UFC after being released from his contract following three consecutive losses.
      He has since transitioned to boxing, having twice competed in the ring during his earlier career.
