      Tyson Fury eyes ‘massive fight’ with UFC champ Francis Ngannou in 2023 and predicts ‘it breaks all PPV records’

      TYSON FURY says he is eyeing a ‘massive fight’ against UFC champion Francis Ngannou next year.And the boxing superstar predicts the Las Vegas bout will ‘break all pay-per-view records’.

      Fury, 33, has a busy schedule in 2022 as he prepares to defend his WBC crown against Dillian Whyte on April 23.
      Should he win, Fury is then likely to fight either Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua to unify the heavyweight division.
      But the Gypsy King is already making plans for 2023 by lining up a mega-scrap with UFC heavyweight king Ngannou.
      The Cameroonian hitter, 35, successfully defended his belt last month against Ciryl Gane.
      But he is set to miss the rest of the year as he recovers from knee surgery.
      And with his UFC deal expiring at the end of 2022, Ngannou would be free to take up a fight against Fury in the boxing ring.

      Las Vegas would be the destination for the bout, and it would take place this time next year.
      Fury told IFL: “I am going to fight Francis Ngannou in Las Vegas next year – in March or February.
      “There’s been no talks this year because I have got some boxing to do.
      “But next year we can have some crazy fights. It’s a massive fight.
      “I believe it breaks all pay-per-view records in the United States. Two heavyweight champions going head to head.”
      Indeed, Ngannou is keen to make the transition to boxing, telling TMZ: “This is going to happen either way.
      “Even if I stay, if or when the UFC and I finalise a deal, the boxing part has to be in it. I can’t see myself retiring without boxing.

      “I would like to test myself to their level. It’s not the same sport but I’m the champion, so I’m top in this division.
      “At the end of the day, it’s just about throwing hands, throwing punches, having a good delivery system to throw those bombs.
      “I’m sure that if I deliver my own punches pretty good, I can do some damage.”
      However, should Ngannou extend his UFC deal, he may find it difficult persuading boss Dana White to set up a fight against Fury.
      White said at the weekend: “The fact that they [the boxing world champions] are even talking about our guys shows you where boxing is at.
      “Boxing’s been a mess for a long time and it’s not going to get straightened out any time soon.
      “I’m not doing jack s**t with [Fury’s promoter] Bob Arum.” More

      So the retired UFC legend will be rooting for his pal in the pay-per-view clash, but knows it will not be easy.
      Khabib, 33, told Sky Sports: “I’m gonna watch. I like boxing, I love boxing. I was watching like boxing, like all big fights I watch live.

      Khabib retired from the UFC in 2020 after beating Justin Gaethje, 33, in what was his first fight after losing his influential father Abdulmanap.

      Khan and Brook, both 35, are shadows of the fighters who brought world titles back to Bolton and Sheffield in 2009 and 2014 respectively.
      And Hearn, the pair’s former promoter, can’t help but think they’re throwing down for the sake of one final big payday.
      He told SecondsOut: “I’ve been involved in money grab. But [Khan-Brook] is [a money grab].
      “It’s just the two of them going, ‘Let’s not be silly. This is massive money for the both of us. Let’s make the fight, mate.’
      “But they are both 50 per cent the fighters they once were. But it’s still going to be a 50-50 fight. I still look at Kell and it looks like he’s training hard.
      “Khan doesn’t look particularly sharp or great, but he’s going to give it his everything.”

      Hearn tried to make the Battle of Britain when the bitter rivals were in his Matchroom stable but was unable to hash out a deal.
      But he doesn’t plan to part with his hard-earned cash to watch the grudge match.
      He said: “I’m interested to know who wins. Will I sit down and watch it, probably not.
      “Of course, I want to know what happens now.
      “It’s intriguing now. Both guys are finished. You just don’t know what’s going to happen.
      “When I was trying to make the fight there was so much more at stake.

      “Now, it’s almost like a shake of the hands. ‘Listen, let’s just do it.’”
      Khan and Brook have had their sights set on one another ever since a highly-disputed sparring session during an England Boxing training camp in 2004.
      But Khan is adamant there’ll be no bad blood after they spill it in the ring this weekend – so much so he wants to have a cuppa with the Steel City slugger.
      He told SunSport: “I don’t hate Kell, this is just another day at the office.
      “I am not scared or nervous, I am just ready to beat him.
      “There is no love between us but I have been living in Kell’s head for the past 10 years, I might even owe him some rent for it.

      Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers signs first pro boxing deal to fight on Sky Sports and be managed by Adam Booth

      AARON CHALMERS has confirmed his switch from MMA to professional boxing. Chalmers, who had a 5-2 cage record, has signed to fight on Sky Sports with promotional stable Boxxer.

      The reality TV and Geordie Shore star will be managed by esteemed British coach Adam Booth.
      Chalmers, 34, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time in MMA but I always knew that boxing was where I wanted to be.
      “Now I’ve got the chance to fulfil that dream and over the next few years I’m going to give it my all.”
      Chalmers fought for American promotion Bellator and had two knockouts in his seven-fight MMA career.
      But he is the latest high-profile signing to join Sky and Boxxer, which is run by promoter Ben Shalom.

      “But he’s very serious about boxing and I’ve witnessed his dedication over the past twelve months.
      “Adam Booth is one of the most accomplished trainers out there, so I’m looking forward to some exciting fights and seeing how far he can go.”
      Chalmers is joined by stable-mates Harlem Eubank, 27, and Josh Kelly, 27, in penning a deal with Sky.
      His pro boxing debut along with the weight division he will campaign in is yet to be announced.

      His bitter rival Brook was then a year later stopped by the American pound-for-pound star in round four.
      Khan has been accused of lacking punch resistance in the past, leading to knockdowns and knockout losses.
      But his former trainer Clarence ‘Bones’ Adams claimed it is Brook at risk of getting chinned in their grudge match on Saturday.
      Speaking on behalf of MyBettingSites, Adams said: “Amir went rounds with Crawford and they eventually stopped it, Brook didn’t last that long.
      “I don’t know what kind of life Brook lives, but Khan lives a very clean life and looks after himself. He’s in the gym all of the time.
      “Amir is still fast and he’s got a better chin than Brook, look at their fights with Crawford.

      “This happens to all fighters, the older you get you just can’t take a shot as well as you used to when you’re younger.

      One of the talking points heading into Khan’s fight with Brook is his decision to hire trainer Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre.
      McIntyre cornered Crawford, 34, to wins over both 35-year-old Brits but Adams has cast doubt over the appointment.

      He said: “If I were with him I know he would be patient and not let the rivalry with Brook bother him.
      “I don’t know about these other people though, obviously I know Terence, awesome fighter.

      “I haven’t seen Bomac in any of the videos, I don’t know who got him, or who these people are.”

      And similarly, talks this year to face Usyk collapsed after Joshua failed to agree a step-aside deal for the unification to get the green light.
      Instead, Fury is now defending his title against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, and brushed off the threat of his other rivals.
      He told iFL TV: “I’d fight Usyk seven days a week, 62 times on a Sunday in his backyard.
      “I’d fight Usyk and Joshua on the same night, I don’t value them, they’re bums compared to me.
      “So as for avoiding somebody, I’ve just fought Deontay Wilder three times.
      “Do you think I’m bothered about a middleweight or some bodybuilder? I’ll annihilate them.”

      Fury, 33, knocked out Wilder, 36, in round 11 of their October Las Vegas trilogy classic.
      Two weeks earlier, Joshua, 32, was stunned by Usyk, 35 and immediately invoked his right to an immediate rematch.
      But Middle Eastern backers were fronting money and talks for AJ to instead step-aside and allow Fury to fight the Ukrainian for all the belts.
