      Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk will be held in June, claims Tyson Fury’s promoter Bob Arum

      PROMOTER Bob Arum has claimed Anthony Joshua will rematch Oleksandr Usyk in June. Usyk saw an undisputed title decider with Fury collapse following a breakdown in negotiations.

      It means he will proceed with his contracted rematch with Joshua, having beaten the British star in September.
      Meanwhile Fury will now face WBC mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, currently targeted for April 23 in Cardiff.
      Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn previously named April as a potential date for AJ’s must-win rerun against Usyk.
      But Fury’s US matchmaker Arum talked down the chance of a clash of dates.
      He told FightHype: “No, they’re [Joshua and Usyk] going to fight in June.”
      Middle Eastern backers were fronting cash and talks for the Fury, 33, to face Usyk, 35, in a first-ever, four-belt unification.

      And although deals were said to have been agreed, talks broke down at the 11th hour.
      Arum revealed: “That was a Middle East deal, and it was so convoluted.
      “It wasn’t going to happen because not only were they going to have to pay for Usyk’s fight with Fury.
      “They had to pay a step aside to Joshua for a huge amount and for Whyte for two fights.
      “There was a problem with the television rights, and it wasn’t going to come together.
      “They couldn’t do the fight in April because it’s Ramadan, and we were talking about doing the fight at best in June.
      “Tyson got impatient with the whole thing.”

      Paul, now promoting the women’s super-fight between Amanda Serrano, 33, and Katie Taylor, 35, warned it could be some time until he laces up the gloves again.
      He said on The MMA Hour: “There’s a lot going on in other aspects of my life.
      “I’m going to do these press conferences over the next two weeks here to help with the promotion around Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano and I’m very busy on the business side of things with my venture capital fund.
      “So I haven’t even gott back into the gym or been training at all.
      “I need to have a discussion with my coaches but probably I would say August-September maybe. Maybe later. I’m trying to figure it out.
      “Obviously if the stars align in some sort of way or I have a change of heart, then things can obviously move around but right now I don’t feel like that motivated to just go right back into another training camp.”

      Paul, 25, most recently knocked out Tyron Woodley, 39, in their short-notice rematch, after Tommy Fury, 22, pulled out with a broken rib.
      Woodley took the fight only four months after losing on points, meaning Paul has KO’d every opponent he has shared the ring with.
      It followed from prior KO’s over YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.
      But Fury’s withdrawal also means Paul is still yet to face an opponent with prior professional boxing experience.
      Despite the criticism of opposition, he named only ex-world champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 35, as a boxing rival who makes financial sense to fight.
      Paul said: “There’s really no boxers who have a big enough name to make it an interesting enough event that are really near my weight class or experience level.
      “It would basically be like fighting for the world title would be the only fight that would sell and I don’t even know who the cruiserweight champion is.
      “I think Canelo was supposed to fight him but it just doesn’t make any sense. It’s my sixth fight and this guy’s a world champion.
      “So nobody really has a big enough name in the boxing world [other] than maybe Chavez Jr.”

      TYSON FURY drooled over a mythical fight card that saw him headline against Oleksandr Usyk. The Ring Magazine shared the fights they want to see in 2022, with the Gypsy King and Usyk, 34, topping the bill.

      Fury, 33, shared the mocked up poster and tweeted: “Imagine if this card could be made.”
      The headline act was almost made into reality when Middle Eastern backers fronted talks and cash for the pair to unify their titles in Saudi Arabia.
      But Anthony Joshua, set to rematch Usyk following defeat in September, was unable to agree a step-aside deal.
      It means Joshua, 32, will proceed with his contracted rematch, while Fury will fight mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, 33.
      Further down the card is the welterweight clash between unbeaten pair Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford.
      The two have failed to agree terms in the past but with Crawford, 34, now a free agent, the super-fight has new life.

      Dillian Whyte given deadline to sign contracts for £30m Tyson Fury fight after he is taunted for ‘going into hiding’

      DILLIAN WHYTE has been given a deadline of February 21 to sign his contract for his showdown with Tyson Fury.The WBC informed the pair on Tuesday that they have until the end of the business day on Feb 21 to submit their respective signed agreements for the grudge match.

      But Brixton banger Whyte wants a bigger slice of the pie that’s currently on offer, which defending champ Fury is set to receive a whopping 80 per cent of.
      The interim heavyweight titleholder is after the 70-30 split that is typically mandated by the WBC for championship matches.
      Queensberry Promotions chief Frank Warren won last Friday’s purse bids for the domestic dust-up with a whopping £30.6million offer.
      Should Whyte accept the current spilt on offer, he’ll pocket a meagre £6.1m while Fury will take home a staggering £24.5m of the pot.
      Fury, 33, took to social media immediately after his co-promoter won the purse bid and has been actively trolling the rest of the heavyweight division.
      Whyte, meanwhile, has yet to speak on the situation, a silence that has prompted Fury to accuse him of going into ‘hiding.’
