‘I will be fighting’ – Boxing legend Vitali Klitschko reveals he WILL serve Ukraine in war after Russia invasion

BOXING legend Vitali Klitschko revealed he WILL serve Ukraine in war after Russia’s invasion. Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine with an overnight barrage of artillery, airstrikes and missiles before tanks rolled into the country before dawn.

The tyrant declared a “special military operation” in Ukraine with a dawn raid after months of amassing his forces on the border and brazenly lying to the world about his plans to invade.
The world is waking up to what could be the most horrific crisis in Europe since World War II as Putin seeks to tear down the world order.
Ex-unified heavyweight world champion Wladimir, 45, revealed he had signed up as a reserve for the territorial forces, defending the city of Kyiv.
And his older brother Vitali, 50, the current Mayor of Kyiv, told how he will fight in the war.
He said on ITV News: “I don’t have another choice. I have to do that. I will be fighting.”
The legendary boxing brothers also called open the world to ‘support Ukraine’ in the face of Russian aggression.

The lightweight contender dressed in the same iconic white and black shorts when he floored Jon Fernandez.
He even recreated the celebration Ali put on when he KO’d Sonny Liston in 1965.
That has gone on to be immortalised on posters and other memorabilia.
Rivera has the same haircut as his hero, and even wants to be known by the nickname ‘Ali’.
Speaking previously to Boxing Scene, he said: “Everyone around me claims that I resemble a young Cassius Clay, who of course became Muhammad Ali.
“My coach [German Caicedo] always told me that from day one and it just stuck.”

Amir Khan has deadline to activate Kell Brook rematch and second fight CANNOT be ruled out, promoter reveals

AMIR KHAN has three weeks to invoke his right to a rematch with Kell Brook – meaning a second fight CANNOT be ruled out. A rivalry almost two decades in the making was finally settled when Brook dominated Khan over six rounds.

But the famously hard to negotiate fight included a rematch clause for the loser in their contract.
Brook’s brutal win has left him in line for another handsome payday on British soil – so long as he is willing to risk an otherwise perfect swansong.
But promoter Ben Shalom revealed Sheffield ex-world welterweight champ Brook cannot look to decide a potential next fight until Khan makes a rematch decision.
He told SunSport: “I think [Brook] does [fight again]. But one curveball is that Amir Khan does have a rematch clause in his contract.
“A lot of people are not expecting him to activate that – us included – but at the same time, I’ve heard a lot, around the camp, the jet lag.
“Also perhaps him not taking Kell as seriously as he should have, a few memers coming out of their camp.
“They’ve got at least two or three weeks to activate that rematch clause.”

Brook, 35, claimed Khan’s biggest mistake was giving him half a year to prepare for the biggest fight of his career and get in top shape.
Meanwhile Khan, 35, only flew out to America in November to start his training camp under new coach Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre.
The 2004 Olympic silver medalist then returned home just over a week before judgement day at the Manchester Arena.
And Shalom revealed he has heard rumblings from Khan’s camp which indicate a rematch still remains a possibility.
He said: “I don’t think [a rematch] can be [ruled out], just because it’s in his hands, it’s not in my hands, if he wants the rematch, he’s got the rematch.
“His pride is obviously extremely hurt and he feels like he didn’t give a good account of himself.
“Perhaps jet lagged, he only had a ten-week camp while Kell was training for six months.
“But I don’t know, he took a lot of punishment but never went down. I don’t know, it’s not in my hands, that’s the thing here.
It’s in his hands, it’s not in my hands, if he wants the rematch, he’s got the rematch. Promoter Ben Shalom on Amir Khan’s rematch clause
“Amir’s going to have to make a decision and I don’t know what he’s going to do.”
Khan hinted at retirement following his bitter defeat, which would bring the end to a celebrated and historic career.
Shalom revealed the Bolton hero is feeling regretful with his pride dented following arguably his biggest loss.
But Khan will take a deserved break in Dubai, where he has a holiday home with wife Faryal, and let the dust settle.
Shalom added: “I spoke to him and Faryal more. Obviously, he’s gutted.
“His pride’s hurt, he’s upset, it’s not a great experience for him, it meant a lot to him this fight.
“That’s the big thing, his legacy on the biggest platform on the biggest stage in front of his home fans, he doesn’t feel like he performed how he should.
“He feels he underestimated Kell. But he’ll be fine. He’s gone to Dubai, he’s having some time out now and hopeful, he will recover.”

Kell Brook’s explosive win over Amir Khan a huge success with Sky Sports PPV buys close to Anthony Joshua’s numbers

KELL BROOK and Amir Khan’s long-awaited grudge match has proven a box office success – with numbers close to that of Anthony Joshua’s. Some scoffed at the idea of spending £20 to watch the 35-year-old pair of ex-world champion finally put reputations on the line.

Meanwhile others were willing to pay whatever the price just to see the two fierce rivals at last settle their bitter score, which spanned almost two decades.
With Eddie Hearn packing up and taking his stable to rival streaming service DAZN, Sky Sports and their new partners Boxxer have been left searching for fresh stars.
But it turns out, fan-favourites from the past proved value for money as Khan and Brook rivalled just about anything else on Sky’s platform.
Promoter Ben Shalom told SunSport: “The buys speak for themselves, it was something that gripped the nation.
“Outside the top AJ numbers, it blows pretty much everything else out of the water.
“It’s the biggest fight outside of the heavyweight division, a domestic fight, that Sky have ever had.

“It was incredible, obviously a lot of people talked the fight down but it was clearly a monumental fight for British boxing.
“And the numbers, as a I say, were akin to AJ figures. Which you don’t see really at all other than the world heavyweight title fights.”
Joshua, 32, has sold over 1million PPVs on Sky Box Office before, while Khan and Brook’s total has not yet been revealed.
But what was there for all to see was Brook’s six-round demolition of Khan, securing bragging rights for life in brutal fashion.
The performance and result leaves Khan staring retirement in the face, which would end a celebrated and historic career.
But for Brook, he is primed for at least one more mega-money payday, if he is willing to trade what would otherwise be the perfect farewell fight.
The buys speak for themselves, it was something that gripped the nation. Outside the top AJ numbers, it blows pretty much everything else out of the water.Promoter Ben Shalom
Shalom said: “Kell is in the number one position right now. He’s got a lot of options and everyone will want to fight him.
“If he retires today, he’s gone out on a high, but there are options and he will consider them. We’ll consider what’s best for him now.
“I think he’s had an amazing experience with us and an amazing promotion with us and there’s now options for him.
“I’m really pleased for him, perhaps his career up until this point wasn’t managed in the best way and maybe took some fights that he shouldn’t have, at the wrong time and wrong weight.
“We think we did everything to give him this fight and the promotion he deserved and he worked his a*** off.
“He spent six months in the gym and he’s come out victorious and he’d probably tell you this was as big for him as it was beating Shawn Porter for his world title.”

Fury’s showdown with former sparring partner Whyte was made official on Monday night after the pair finally returned signed contracts to the WBC.
And hours after their deals were signed, Fury began trolling his former sparring partner on social media.
He roared on Instagram: “I’m going to absolutely BUST Dillian Whyte in like a cheap f***ing water balloon. You’re useless you big dosser, you useless sausage.”
Fury’s has promised his latest rant at Whyte will be his last as he’s ditching all his social media accounts until after the fight.
He said: “I’m about to go completely off social media for the next eight-and-a-half weeks.
“I’m gonna go into training camp to give Dillian Whyte all the respect in the world that he needs. I’ll train for him like he’s Muhammad Ali and Bruce Lee for this camp.
“I’ve never underestimated anybody in my life and I’ll give this man all the respect he deserves coming as the No.1-ranked WBC heavyweight challenger in the world today.”
“Please don’t phone me, call me, e-mail me, text me or try to contact me in any single way. Because I’m out of bounds until May.

Anthony Joshua ‘two weeks’ away from revealing identity of new coach and starting training camp for Usyk rematch

ANTHONY JOSHUA is two weeks away from revealing the identity of his new coach and beginning preparations for his high-stakes rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.AJ ditched long-time trainer Rob McCracken in the wake of his lopsided points defeat to the undefeated Ukranian last September – but has kept the identity of his new head coach under wraps.

Promoter Eddie Hearn expects the identity of AJ’s new trainer to be revealed in the next two weeksCredit: PA
But promoter Eddie Hearn believes all will be revealed in a fortnight when the Watford warrior knuckles down for the do-or-die rematch.
When asked when Joshua’s second tussle with Usyk will be officially announced, Hearn told BetFredTV: “I think when camp starts officially.
“If we’re looking at May or early June for the fight, you’re talking about 12 or 14 weeks to go, so we’re probably two weeks away from starting full camp and I’m sure Anthony Joshua and his team will announce any additions to that training team in due course.
“He knows what he’s doing and where he’s going.”
Defeat in his Tottenham tussle with Usyk has lit a fire under Joshua, who was outboxed and outfoxed by the slick southpaw.
Hearn said: “He’s training really hard at the moment up in Loughborough and he looks sensational.

“He’s hungrier than ever and ready to recapture his heavyweight world titles.”
A date and venue for Joshua vs Usyk 2 have not yet been finalised, although Hearn is open to hosting the fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium again.
He said: “I was speaking with Daniel Levy from Tottenham last night and I’d love to go back to Spurs for the rematch.
“I thought It was the most incredible stadium. I would love to go back there.
“Usyk is also on a split of the money, so they’ll be going for an option which creates the most revenue.”
Hearn has received multiple offers from around the world to stage the fight but would prefer to host it in London.

He said: “We’ve had offers from around the world to stage that fight. It’s the biggest heavyweight fight this year, certainly to date, and I think it’s going to be a major fight around the world.
“There’s a lot of interest. Mine and AJ’s preference is to do it back in London and we’re probably not a million miles away from announcing the fight.
“The contract is signed and everything is mostly done, we’ve just got to agree on a date and venue and then everything is done.”

The tyrant declared a “special military operation” in Ukraine with a dawn raid after months of amassing his forces on the border and brazenly lying to the world about his plans to invade.
The world is waking up to what could be the most horrific crisis in Europe since World War II as Putin seeks to tear down the world order.
Now the Klitschko brothers, with the older Vitali the current Mayor of Kiev, have called open the world to ‘support Ukraine’ in the face of Russian aggression.
In a clip they shared on social media, Wladimir says: “I’m calling to all international partners to observe this strategy that is happening nowadays in Ukraine and this senseless war which is not going to have any winners, but losers.
“I just want to tell you we must stay united against this Russian aggression.
“Don’t let it continue happening in Ukraine, don’t let it happen in Europe and eventually in the world.
“United we are strong. Support Ukraine. Thank you.”

UK prime minister Boris Johnson vowed to “hobble” Russia with crippling sanctions after Vladimir Putin inflicted a “hideous and barbaric” war on Ukraine.
In a rare address to the nation the PM promised the Kremlin tyrant would pay for unleashing a “tidal wave of violence” on “innocent people”.
Bombs and missiles began falling on Ukraine at dawn shortly after Putin declared war on the country in a chilling televised address.
Bloodied civilians were pictured stumbling through debris after air strikes blitzed a slew of major cities, including capital Kyiv.
Mr Johnson was woken at 4am for an urgent call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy before chairing a Cobra meeting in Whitehall.

Watch shocking moment boxer picks up opponent and performs TWO MMA move leaving commentator and referee stunned

A BOXER stunned fight fans last weekend by landing TWO double-leg takedowns at Global Legion FC 20.Alberto Blas – who also competes in mixed martial arts – appeared to forget he was taking part in a boxing match as he shot in for a takedown less than a minute into his clash with Timmy Mason last weekend.

The Cuban executed a picture-perfect power double, beautifully dropping to his knees and slamming Mason to the canvas.
The referee and announcers were left absolutely stunned by Blas’ takedown – which Mason was powerless to stop.
Blas, 27, was quickly pushed off Mason so he couldn’t rain down any ground and pound.
Stunningly, the ref didn’t disqualify Blas for his blatant violation of the rules.
But just moments later, it soon became apparent Blas’ takedown wasn’t muscle memory kicking in as he took Mason down a second time.
The ref struggled to pull El Indio off his opponent the second time but promptly disqualified him from the match after separating the pair.

Two days after the shambles of a fight, Blas’ coach revealed he instructed him to take Mason down in retaliation to him being punched in the back of the head.
He wrote on Instagram: “‼️INSTANT REVENGE‼️
“Remembering the great, legendary boxer Prichard Colon, a hit to the back of the head is never to be taken lightly.
“It can cause severe permanent damage or even death.
“After flying across the country for this MMA event, we were notified the MORNING OF that our fighter’s opponent pulled out.
“As any fearless fighter would, @indioencuba stepped up within hours of the event to fight in a boxing match with an opponent over 20 LBS HEAVIER.
