      ‘I could fight half-dead and still beat him’ – Saunders takes stunning swipe at Eubank Jr ahead of potential rematch

      BILLY JOE SAUNDERS is reportedly desperate to land a rematch with Chris Eubank Jr.But the 32-year-old doesn’t reckon it would last long if the feuding pair do step into the ring again.

      Saunders won a split decision when the pair met back in 2014 but recently suffered a thumping loss to Canelo Alvarez.
      Eubank meanwhile put on arguably the best performance of his career to dominate Liam Williams last Saturday.
      Rumours have been swirling around a possible Saunders retirement, but the former two-weight world champ insisted he is eyeing another Eubank scalp.
      He told IFLTV: “Do I think I can do the weight comfortably? It doesn’t matter if I can do it comfortably or not with him. I could do it half dead and still beat him.”
      Promoter Ben Shalom and Sky Sports’ head of boxing Adam Smith have been in talks with Saunders over a potential rematch.
      Shalom said: “Billy Joe really wants this fight because he knows Chris has gone from strength to strength since they last fought.

      Even before he’d entered the building, he’d made a few kids’ night.
      In footage obtained by TMZ, the American spotted the entrepreneurial youngsters selling sweets to fans on their way to the game.
      Mayweather, worth an estimated £330million last year, admired their spirit and decided to give them a lucrative reward.
      The 50-0 king filmed the act, and said: “I’m all about giving back to the kids.”
      It appeared that Mayweather handed over $400 or $500 without a moment’s hesitation.
      He then added: “The kids out here selling candy, they ain’t doing nothing wrong.”

      The boxing legend boasted before and after about earning $100million (£75m) for what he dubbed ‘a legalised bank robbery’.
      But eight months on and Logan, 26, has continued to accuse Mayweather, 44, of not paying him the full amount of his purse.
      And while little brother Jake, 25, was in London to promote the women’s super-fight between Amanda Serrano, 33, and Katie Taylor, 35, he said legal action is being taken.
      He told reporters: “There’s a lawsuit that was opened up last week or two weeks ago. They’re pressuring him both legally and behind-the-scenes.”

      But the Matchroom Boxing chief has since changed his mind on the bout after further evaluation of Chisora’s performance against Joseph Parker last December.
      During an appearance on talkSPORT, he said: “It was only a throwaway comment from me saying if the fight went four or five rounds, I think he’d beat Wilder.
      “It’s obviously a very dangerous fight [against Wilder].”
      Chisora, 38, suffered a lopsided points defeat to Parker in their rematch but was quick to dismiss talk of retirement.
      And a fight with elder statesman of the division Luis Ortiz is currently in the pipeline for the former world title challenger.

      Tyson, 55, is one of the most celebrated boxers of all time but become a fan of MMA, striking a friendship with UFC boss Dana White and Professional Fighters League founder Donn Davis.
      And Davis said if MMA was as prominent during Iron Mike’s heyday, then no doubt he would have ruled in the cage as well as the ring.

      This year, PFL has introduced a ‘Challenger Series’ which stretches over eight weeks and eight divisions, starting from February 18 and finishing on April 8.
      There will be four fights a night but only one of the winners will be awarded the PFL seasonal contract, giving them the chance to fight for the $1m contract.
      That is ultimately decided by a four-man guest panel, which includes Tyson himself.
      Davis said: “There will be a panel of judges, not just one guy waving his wand and deciding.
      “We’ll have MMA experts, including Vitor Belfort or Tyron Woodley, we will have celebrity judges, who are Hall of Fame-type boxers, like Mike Tyson.
      “We will also have champion athletes, like Ray Lewis and we’re also going to have interesting celebrities who love the sport, Keenan Thompson, Saturday Night Live, for example.
      “But most importantly, the fans will have a seat, the fourth vote is the fans.
      “So once the fights are decided, each night will have four fights and which of those four winners gets the contract will be decided by those panel of four judges, which includes the fans and celebrity judges.”
