      Five of Kell Brook’s biggest fights in career including first world title against Shawn Porter ahead of Amir Khan bout

      KELL BROOK tirelessly chased a grudge match with Amir Khan for almost all of his career – but had some mega-fights in between. The 35-year-old welterweight rivals will finally settle their bitter score on Saturday inside the Manchester Arena.

      For Brook, he has campaigned for the fight more than his adversary, who always insisted he was onto bigger and better things Stateside.
      It left Sheffield’s former IBF welterweight champion welcoming some of boxing’s best stars to the UK instead.
      Here, SunSport runs down Brook’s five biggest fights, as he draws closer to possibly his most important one.

      Brook got himself into the IBF mandatory position and travelled to California as an underdog to challenge then-champ Porter, now 34.
      And against the odds, he boxed his way to a majority decision win to snatch the belt away and bring it home to the UK.
      It remains one of the most underrated wins for a Brit on the road and sparked a three-year title reign.

      At the time, this was Britain’s first-ever welterweight world title fight and headlined on Sky Box Office.
      Gavin, 36, was an elite amateur but failed to reach the same heights as a pro, but nevertheless was a statement win for Brook.
      He dominated the fight before the referee stopped the action just before the end of round six.

      Brook walked away from a proposed welterweight unification to jump to middleweight after talks for Chris Eubank Jr, 32, to fight Golovkin, 39, collapsed.
      He started well in the opening rounds before GGG’s size and power took over, eventually winning in round five.
      Brook’s bravery came at a cost as he fractured his right eye socket but the fascinating fight proved popular with reports of 400,000-700,00 PPV buys.

      Errol Spence Jr
      Just under a year after his brutal loss to GGG, Brook returned in another massive fight, against unbeaten American star Errol Spence Jr, 31.
      But it ended in similar fashion for Brook, who raced to an early lead before Spence’s pressure proved decisive.
      It saw Brook lose his IBF welterweight crown and suffer another horror eye injury, this time his left.

      Terence Crawford, 2020
      Following defeat to Spence, Brook moved up to super-welterweight and looked to be making a run to become a two-weight champ.
      But then an opportunity to fight another pound-for-pound star in Crawford, 34, was proposed and deemed too good to turn down.
      Brook shrunk back down to 10st 7lb but was finished in four rounds behind closed doors in in Las Vegas, his last bout to date.

      The pair are no strangers to one another having crossed paths as teenagers during an England Boxing training camp in 2004.
      Bolton bruiser Khan told Sky Sports: “We knew about each other. He was winning everything, I was winning everything.
      “I knew he was good and vice versa.”
      Khan’s memory of the camp is of soft-spoken Sheffield slugger Brook being brought in as a body for the more skilled fighters in the camp to beat up.
      He said of Special K: “He was quiet. We never shared any words. Kell was only there as a number.”
      The 35-year-old added: “Kell was briefly there. They let him spar just to check him out.

      “Kell just can’t let it go. He remembers, and it must tarnish him.”
      Khan ended up being selected for the 2004 Olympic squad not long after his sparring session with Brook, who insists competing in Athens was never his goal.
      He said: “I wanted to be a world champion. I got to 18 and turned professional.

      “It wasn’t my dream to go to the Olympics.”
      Khan and Brook go into their eagerly-anticipated showdown in the twilight of their careers and with their respective skill sets on the decline.
      And Khan believes the deterioration of Brook’s once steel-like chin will show on fight night.

      He said: “I don’t think Kell has a chin or can take a good shot.
      “I think his punch resistance is gone, literally gone.
      “I honestly believe he is doing this fight just for that payday.”

      But Pimblett isn’t buying Paul’s claim that he wants to fatten fighters’ pockets, nor does he believe The Problem Child is keen on a transition to MMA.
      During an appearance on the Chattin’ Pony podcast, the former Cage Warriors featherweight champ said: “The way he’s saying, ‘I’m gonna end up getting in the cage.’
      “You’re not, lad. You’re not. Stop lying. If you want to have an MMA fight, I’ll fight you in my ma’s garden tomorrow. You know what I mean?
      “He’s going on, he’s trying to act like a martyr – like he’s helping MMA fighters.
      “He’s not, lad. He’s just doing that for his own publicity.”
      Pimblett is adamant Paul’s rants about fighter pay are just an attempt to make UFC president Dana White look bad.

      The Liverpudlian added: “That’s why the only thing what’s p me off about it, people are like, ‘Ah, he’s actually being good for MMA fighters.’

      Fury has signed his part of the 80 – 20 purse deal against the mandatory challenger.
      Now the Gypsy King is just waiting for Brixton banger Whyte to put pen to paper.
      Fury posted a video and a selection of photos of his boxing belts, each in their own glass box.
      There are the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO straps he won when he sensationally outpointed Vladimir Klitschko in 2015.

      “We’re not even dealing with Hearn, we’re dealing with Dillian Whyte’s lawyer, Hearn has no involvement unless we’re told otherwise.

      But after the dust settled, UFC champion Adesanya, 32, spoke with Paul, 25, and boxing coach BJ Flores.

      He beat retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37, in March 2021 and then Tyron Woodley, 39, in the August on points.

      And Ford, 39, told Muscle and Health that ‘embarrassing’ opponent Sajad Gharibi, 29, could be KO’d in as quickly as 20 seconds by having his ‘face smashed in’.
      Boxing fans thought they’d witnessed the heaviest pairing ever when Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson announced their March bout.
      But 6ft 9in Ford, who weights 287lbs, and 6ft 2in Gharibi, who tips the scales at 390lbs, could set off an earthquake when they collide at the O2 Arena on April 2.
      The ‘World’s Scariest Man’ Ford is already targeting an epic blockbuster against Hollywood and WWE superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
      And he reckons he will prove his fighting credentials by making mincemeat of Gharibi when the first bell dings.

      “He’s not an athlete by any stretch of the imagination. I refused to be fooled by his propositions, so initially, I just ignored him, but then things started getting a bit heated.

      Mike Tyson, 55, walks away from Jake Paul fight after negotiations with YouTuber, 30 years his junior, break down

      MIKE TYSON has officially walked away from a money-spinning fight with Jake Paul.SunSport revealed last month that former world champ, 55, was in advanced negotiations with Paul, 25, about an exhibition fight in Las Vegas, Nevada.

      But Sun Online understands Tyson decided to turn his back on the deal because the numbers didn’t add up.
      A source close to the former ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ said: “Mike did not want to resume full-scale training to a level that the world would expect, unless he thought the money was right.
      “But what seemed like a good idea at the turn of the year is now no longer a top priority.”
      Tyson and Paul’s reps had been secretly thrashing out plans for the pay per view bout, expected to happen later this year, with a potential windfall of £36million ($50million).
      But a business associate of Tyson told Sun Online: “The last few weeks have seen a change for Mike. He was on board for an exhibition bout with Jake in Vegas, but word is that the deal is not quite what he expected.”
      Tyson also isn’t keen on putting his body through the rigours of gruelling training sessions similar to those he did ahead of his victory against Roy Jones Jr. fight.

      The source said: “It is not about him not being able to physically dominate Jake, but rather his life is not conducive to training to the level that would be required.

      In recent weeks Tyson played down the story about him talking with Paul’s team.

      In November, Tyson hinted that he was prepping to fight in the Spring when he attended the unveiling of a metal statue of himself at Mulberry Street Pizzeria, Las Vegas.
