      Khan and Sheffield-born Brook, both 35, finally face off in an all-British blockbuster in Manchester on Saturday after years of speculation.
      And back, in March 2021, Khan told talkSPORT that he was pushing for the fight to happen that summer.
      He said: “What’s the fight that everyone wants to see?
      “Everyone wants to see the Kell Brook fight. We’ve been talking about it for years and years.
      “Look, me and Kell are probably past our best, I’ll be honest. But at the same time, we’re both around the same age.
      “I think it’d be a good fight between us to see still who the number one is in Britain.”

      Khan ultimately did not get his wish of a summer dust-up, but will now finally get a crack at his old foe.

      Back then he suggested he would ‘call it a day’ after facing Brook, but appears to have had a change of heart.
      Khan told BBC breakfast earlier this week: “After Sunday? Career still going strong. I’m still fighting.
      “I feel better at 35 than I was at 25, believe it or not.”
      Khan added: “I feel so strong, so fresh. I’ve got that love back for the sport again.
      “Training with the new team in Nebraska, they’ve brought the love back for me. I’m really excited to see what the future holds.” More

      Last year, Khan downsized his living arrangements in the UK.

      Khan happily showed off his purchase on Instagram, and gave us a glimpse of his picturesque pool and sprawling rooms.
      “Bought a dream car and holiday home in Dubai for my family and I. God has been kind. 16 years in the sport,” he captioned a post of a picture of the mega mansion with two expensive cars sat in the driveway.
      “Hard work dedication pays off,” he added.

      The dream car Khan mentioned on social media when talking about his lavish property was in full view of the home’s entrance.
      He later shared another post talking about his incredible Porsche 911 Turbo that’s valued at £160,000.
      He captioned the pic, “Work hard & enjoy the rest of your life.”

      In 2020, Khan was happy to share an extravagant purchase on social media.
      And no doubt he would’ve wowed his 1.4 million followers on Instagram with an astonishing timepiece.
      He revealed a snap of his wrist modelling a Richard Mille RM 032 dive watch that can cost anywhere from £95,000 to £111,000.
      “Not everyday I treat myself. Just picked up my @richardmille #RM32 #watches #RM,” he captioned the snap.
      A year later, Khan’s kindness extended to his son, Muhammad when he bought him his first watch.
      He was handed a £30,000 Rolex, and on an Instagram stories clip he shared a photo of the pricey gift.

      Retirement hasn’t crossed either man’s mind ahead of their Battle of Britain, but ex-cruiserweight champ Johnny Nelson is hoping the pair will see sense and protect their legacies by calling it a day.
      Sky Sports Boxing Expert Nelson told SunSport: “They’ll become gatekeepers if they don’t retire after this fight.
      “They’ll become the guys that are former world champions that have still got it. But can they produce it on the night when it’s expected of them? 
      “They’ll be the stepping stones for the youngsters coming through. Common sense tells me that the winner and loser will say, ‘You know what? I’ve had a great time, I’m done.’

      Nelson reckons the pain of defeat to their bitter rival will leave the loser with no choice but hang up their gloves.
      He added: “As an ex-fighter myself, would I have wanted to carry on boxing after being beaten by my domestic rival? No, I wouldn’t.
      “Because where’s my ambition? It tells you that I’m just going in there for the money.
      “This is a big-money fight for both fighters, but pride also takes place as well.
      “So, therefore, the loser will end up being a stepping stone for the young bucks coming through.
      “And I think both of these fighters have got too much pride to let that be the case.”
      Khan has vowed to inflict serious damage on Brook’s twice surgically-repaired face.
      But Nelson reckons the Bolton bruiser doesn’t have the power to dent the Sheffield slugger’s steely chin.
      He said: “I honestly don’t think Amir Khan hits hard enough to create that kind of damage. I think if he’s busy enough and throws enough shots, he can shock Kell.
      “But to be bone-breaking, I don’t really think Amir Khan is really that fighter. But there’s a vulnerability for there Kell Brook and he’s got to make sure he protects that.”

      AMIR KHAN has doubled down on his Kell Brook racism accusation after his bitter rival said he would ‘break his poppadom chin’.The proud Pakistani-Brit has been involved in a war of words with his Saturday night opponent for 10 years but it took a more sinister turn on Thursday.

      The 35-year-old Bolton ace waited for the big-fight press conference to push Brook on the filmed slur – which the Sheffield man insists was not racially motivated – and then vowed to punish him for it tomorrow.
      The 2004 Team GB silver winner said: “I don’t usually talk about racism issues because sometimes I think it can just make things worse.
      “But, when someone says something like that, it does upset you and it put me on a proper downer.
      “I was really surprised when I saw that video, it was so sad, because I would never have thought that of Kell.
      “He is not only having a dig at me but my religion and race, racism is not nice and he knows exactly what he means and he needs to get a beating for that.
      “People need to see the real side of him. I am sure he has fans in the Pakistani, Indian and Asian community so he should not be coming out with comments like that.”

      When asked if their overdue catchweight clash could still end in them settling the score and eventually becoming friends, he said: “No not after the racial comment.
      “He has gone from hating me and being jealous but now it is too far, it is personal and too deep. I can’t be friends with a guy like that.”
      Former IBF welterweight champ Brook, also 35, comes from the respected and multi-cultural Ingle gym and reckons Khan is playing the race card to try to turn fans against him.
      And he insists the verbal dig was only in reference to Khan’s chin being flakey and prone to crumbling like the curry sundries. 
      “I am absolutely not a racist character,” Brook said. “Khan is just trying to get everyone on his side and against me.
      “Look where I am from, I am not racist at all, he is trying to throw me under the bus and get people to turn on me.
      “I just meant his chin is as delicate as a poppadom and easy to break, that’s the only angle I meant.
      “There was no racial intent at all.
      “I have a lot of Pakistani, Asian and Indian fans but also friends and training partners in the gym who I am with all the time, every day. It’s a pathetic thing for him to do.”

      In a fight which could define both fighters’ careers, Brook and Khan will put it all on the line when they meet in the middle of the ring at the AO Arena on February 19.

      Khan’s massive clash with Brook will take place on Saturday, February 19 in Manchester.
      The bout will be held at the AO Arena, which hosted Derek Chisora vs Joseph Parker 2 back in December.
      The event sold out in minutes and there will be 20,000 fans in attendance at the event.
      Ring-walks for the main event will get underway from around 10.30pm UK time.

      Who is Amir Khan’s new trainer?
      Khan is hoping he has the secret weapon in his corner to beat Kell Brook in trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre’.
      And the American certainly knows a thing or two about both Brits ahead of their Manchester grudge scrap.
      Back in November 2020 McIntyre guided Crawford to a stunning fourth-round KO of Brook at an empty MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
      And Khan has decided to let bygones be bygones after his own defeat to Crawford in April 2019.
      That ended is somewhat controversial fashion with Khan pulled out by his corner after six rounds.
