      EDDIE HEARN is unsure whether he will be allowed to attend Dillian Whyte’s fight with Tyson Fury – but has offered to carry his spit bucket. The 33-year-old heavyweight rivals are due to settle their score on April 23 at Wembley.

      It came after a record-breaking £30.6million WBC purse which was won by Fury’s promoter Frank Warren.
      Hearn, who bid £24m, as a result has no official role in the mega-fight but has promoted Whyte for large parts of the heavyweight’s career.
      Due to his ongoing feud with Warren, the Matchroom Boxing boss is uncertain if he will be ringside for the fight but has offered to show his support to Whyte in any way possible – even if it means carrying his bucket.
      Hearn told Boxing Social: “I don’t think I’m allowed but I might go in the corner.

      “I was thinking about going in the corner and carrying the bucket, I would do that.
      “I would put on a Dillian Whyte T-shirt and carry the bucket in the corner. Imagine the buys.
      “Might double the buys, the announcement, ‘Eddie Hearn to carry the bucket for Dillian Whyte’.”
      Whyte has kept radio silent since the fight was confirmed as Hearn claimed there are still problems to be resolved.

      JAKE PAUL has been offered a fight by Martyn Ford – despite their massive weight difference. Movie star Ford – dubbed the ‘world’s scariest man’ – is set to make his boxing debut on April 30 against the ‘Iranian Hulk’.

      But already the 6ft 8in bodybuilder is being lined up with massive fights in the future.
      One of those being YouTuber-turned prizefighting star Paul, who is unbeaten at 5-0 in the ring.
      Ford told the Daily Star: “I think Jake Paul is actually so clever in what he’s done.
      “For me I’ve no animosity towards him. Would I fight him? 100 per cent I would. It would be a great fight, great experience and great exposure.

      From pub brawls to bus attacks, the 32-year-old Irishman has provided plenty of talking points.
      With McGregor set to return to action against Manny Pacquiao in the coming months, SunSport looks at his most infamous moments.
      DRIVING ARREST
      McGregor is known for his love for fast cars – but sometimes it can land him in hot water.
      Most recently, he was arrested for “road traffic offences” while driving his  £150,000 Bentley and taken to Lucan police station.
      McGregor was later given bail and while his car was initially seized at the scene – it was eventually returned.

      PUNCH IN THE PUB
      McGregor’s most shameful moment came in April last year after he was caught on CCTV punching a man in his 50s in a Drimnagh pub following a dispute over his Proper 12 whiskey. 
      It led to several fans in Ireland turning their back on the former two-division champion and some pubs refusing to sell his whiskey.

      SMASHING FAN’S PHONE 
      The Notorious was out of the Octagon throughout 2019 – but was making noise for all the wrong reasons. 
      In March he was captured smashing a fans phone on the floor in Miami and later arrested.

      POST-FIGHT BRAWL 
      McGregor would get his chance to settle the score with Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October 2018. 
      But after winning by submission in four rounds, Khabib hopped the cage and began brawling with McGregor’s team – while the Irishman did the same in the cage. 
      McGregor was banned for six months and handed a £60,000 fine but boasted about landing the final punch of the night – on Nurmagomedov’s cousin.

      BUS ATTACK 
      In his most infamous incident, McGregor travelled 3,000 miles from Dublin to New York in April 2018 to confront rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was filmed in a dispute with Lobov earlier that week. 
      The Irishman, accompanied with friends, then attacked the bus with Khabib inside, smashing windows and causing six fights to be cancelled through injuries.

      REF ATTACK 
      A month after McGregor was captured using homophobic slurs, he was again caught up in controversy following a friend’s fight. 
      After Ward won at Bellator 187, The Notorious jumped into the cage in celebration but was confronted by referee Mark Goddard.

      HOMOPHIBIC SLUR
      After McGregor’s team-mate and close friend Artem Lobov was defeated in October, 2017 he called opponent Andre Fili a “f****t” for his tactics. 
      The Irishman – who has campaigned for same-sex marriage before – later held his hands up and issued an apology, admitting his mistake. 
      He said: “I’m human; I slip up, I say stupid things every damn day. All I can (do) is hold my hand up and apologise if anyone was offended.”

      In the opening press conference between McGregor and Mayweather, the then-UFC champion wore a pinstripe suit tailored by David August Heil. 
      But on closer inspection the stripes were made up of ‘f*** you’ remarks. 
      Explaining the design, Heil said: “The idea originated internally. The expression was the perfect juxtaposition to the traditional pinstripe suit. I wanted to use fighting words.”

      Before McGregor made his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017, he found himself in hot water for remarks made in the build up.

      McGregor denied racism, but did say: “If anyone was offended, of course I apologise. I am human at the end of the day.”

      McGregor and Diaz would get the date for their rematch, but they still couldn’t behave at the presser. 
      The pair began lobbing bottles at each other, with McGregor then throwing cans of UFC’s sponsored Monster Energy cans. 
      McGregor was initially fined £120,000, only for it to be halved, while he also had to serve 50 hours of community service.

      UFC 200 NO-SHOW 
      After Diaz beat McGregor, their rematch was pencilled in for UFC 200 – but again controversy marred the pre-fight presser. 
      The Notorious refused to come to the media event as he wanted to remain in Iceland to train and was also affected by the death of Joao Carvalho, who passed away following a bout with McGregor’s team-mate Charlie Ward. 
      For failure to show up to the press conference, he was axed from the event altogether.

      CHOLO JIBE 
      When Nate Diaz filled in on late notice to face McGregor at UFC 196 in March 2016, the UFC hastily put together a press conference. 
      There Diaz was called ‘a little cholo’ by his newly found rival. 
      ‘Cholo’ is a racially-charged pejorative term meaning a Mexican of low-class or criminal background.

      Before McGregor KO’d Jose Aldo in 13 seconds, he said: “If this was a different time, I would invade his favela on horseback, and would kill anyone who wasn’t fit to work. But we’re in a new time, so I’ll whoop his ass instead.”
      The Irishman also claimed he would ‘turn his favela into a Reebok sweatshop’. 
      Aldo was born from poverty in Manaus and fought his way to a better life through martial arts.

      Ghana’s big World Cup play-off clash with Nigeria will get going from 7.30pm UK time on Friday, March 25.
      The game will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, in Ashanti, Ghana.
      There will be a capacity of 40,000 fans in attendance at the clash.

      Jake Paul says Conor McGregor grudge match in UFC is ‘biggest MMA fight ever’ and makes over $300m in PPV sales alone

      JAKE PAUL said a pay-per-view blockbuster in the UFC with Conor McGregor would be the “biggest MMA fight ever”. The YouTuber-turned boxer has spent almost all of his boxing career trying to prise and antagonise McGregor into the ring.

      But Paul has now offered to play the Irishman at his own game and called on Dana White to give him a one-fight UFC deal to make it happen.
      Not only is he willing to enter McGregor’s world, the American is even prepared to go behind enemy lines at Dublin’s Croke Park.
      And he claimed the fight is a record-breaker in the making, capable of filling out the biggest stadiums in the world.
      In an exclusive interview, Paul told SunSport: “Over three million buys in the US, 500,000 in the UK, 300,000 in Australia, 4+million globally.”
      By those numbers, with the US price point of $74.99 it would rake in around $300m alone.
      And with PPV in the UK costing £19.95 just over $13m would be generated with an additional $16m coming from Australia.
      All in all, by Paul’s accounts the fight would guarantee over $320m just through box office receipts.
      That is not taking into account the ticket sales, with just about any venue in the world sure to sell out.

      Paul said: “Biggest MMA fight ever. Me entering a new sport at the highest level will peak the interest of young and old, particularly if we have fighter compensation and healthcare on the line!
      “Imagine the entire UFC roster would be shouting about this fight. Secretly hoping I win so they can get better treatment from UFC.
      “Two of the biggest names in sport, MMA + boxing, with the reach of ESPN plus Dana in the middle…the world will stop and watch.
      “Croke Park, Wembley or Cowboy Stadium packed to the rim.
      “Will Conor finally shut up Jake Paul….or will Jake Paul once again show the world the impossible and put Conor into retirement?”
      The UFC’s biggest ever fight was McGregor’s 2018 loss to bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, 33, selling 2.4m PPVs.

      Floyd Mayweather, 45, holds the overall PPV record for his 2015 decision over Manny Pacquiao, 43, which drew 4.6m US PPV buys.
      But for Paul to switch the ring for the cage, he has made his demands known.
      In defeat, he has offered to donate his ENTIRE purse to all UFC stars who make less than $50,000 per fight.
      But Paul wants UFC president Dana White to introduce a healthcare scheme and take minimum fight purses from $12k to $50k if he wins.
      In a direct message to McGregor, he said: “Conor you have been selfish your whole life.

      TYSON FURY has been showing why he is the world’s No1 heavyweight in ‘excellent’ sparring sessions with Martin Bakole. Fury has drafted in heavyweight contender Bakole to help replicate Dillian Whyte’s 6ft 4in frame.

      And ahead of his UK homecoming on April 23 at Wembley Stadium, Bakole’s coach Billy Nelson has been singing the Gypsy King’s praises.
      Nelson told Sky Sports: “Martin’s really enjoying the sparring with Tyson Fury. It’s clear to see why he is the world’s number one.
      “It’s an excellent spar between the two of them. Also there’s a mixture of sparring with David Adeleye.”
      Bakole, 28, is 17–1 in his own career and for large parts of his career spent time as a sparring partner for Anthony Joshua, 32.
