GERVONTA DAVIS appeared to slam Floyd Mayweather as “jealous” in a now-deleted tweet. Mayweather announced his latest boxing comeback on the same day his fighter and opponent Rolando Romero held a press conference.

Both Davis, 27, and Romero, 26, are promoted by Mayweather, who will stage the May 28 fight.
But just hours after the lightweight rivals traded words on stage, Mayweather confirmed his upcoming ring return.
Appearing to comment on the timing, Davis tweeted: “Lol, n**** had a press conference today and fight on the same day.. no matter how much money you have you can still be jealous of a mf! Boy.”
The American has been promoted by Mayweather since 2015 and guided to titles in three divisions.

But the pair have bumped heads in the past and Davis recently claimed he only has one fight left on his current contract.
Responding, Mayweather told FightHype: “Nothing lasts forever. I will always love Tank. I like him. Love him – look at him as a son.
“He has to do what’s best for him. I feel like I’ve done a great job thus far, building him and putting him in good fights, great fights.

GENNADY GOLOVKIN celebrated his 40th birthday by making weight to fight Ryota Murata. The middleweight boxing champion marks his return to the ring in a unification title bout with Murata in Japan.

Golovkin looked ripped and ready as he scaled inside the 11st 6lb middleweight limit on his big day.
The Kazakh legend has not fought since December 2020 when he stopped Pole Kamil Szeremeta, 32, in seven rounds.
He was due to unify his IBF belt with Murata’s WBA version in April until coronavirus restrictions put an abrupt halt to that.
But with their rescheduled date only days away, Golovkin promised it will be worth the wait.

He told Boxing Scene: “Murata is the most important fight. Period. I do not look ahead.
“I have been fully invested in training for the fight I have in front of me. I have too much respect for Murata and his body of work.
My focus is on him and winning his title. That is why I am in Japan. I look forward to fighting in a packed arena. I have missed that energy.
