      TYSON FURY knocked out Dillian Whyte with a sensational uppercut in the sixth round – and then reiterated his retirement plans.The fight had begun in tentative fashion – before the Gypsy King upped the pace in the half-way mark and then brutally finished the job with distinction.
      And after the fight UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou joined Fury in the ring and they CONFIRMED a “hybrid rule” clash with MMA gloves!

      Tyson Fury closes out his press conferences by thanking everyone.
      That main theme in that press conference was that he reiterated plans to retire.

      Fury reveals UFC champion Francis Ngannou is on his “hit-list.”
      And it can happen in a boxing or UFC ring, with whatever gloves Ngannou chooses.

      He said: “I also want to say, this man here, Sugar Hill Steward, he made a great fighter. Years ago, used to jib and jab, touch and slide.
      “But you’ve seen me here tonight. Sugar, what a legend you are, mate.
      “You’ve made me the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division, by a mile.

      Tyson promises retirement
      Fury has vowed to honour his retirement and says he owes it to his beloved wife Paris.
      He says: “I promised my lovely wife Paris of 14 years that after the Wilder 3 fight, that would be it. And I meant it.
      “We had a war. It was a great trilogy. And I meant that.
      “But I got offered to fight at Wembley at home, and I believe that I deserved—that I owed it to the fans, I owed it to every person in the United Kingdom to come here and fight at Wembley.
      “Now it’s all done. And I have to be a man of my word. And I think this is it.
      “This might be the final curtain for the Gypsy King. And what a way to go out! A big thank you to the United Kingdom!”

      He says: “Dillan Whyte is a warrior. And I believe that Dillian will be a world champion. But tonight, he met a great in the sport.
      “I’m one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. And unfortunately for Dillian Whyte, he had to face me here tonight.
      “There’s no disgrace. He’s a tough, game man. He’s as strong as a bull. He’s got the heart of a lion.
      “But you’re not messing with a mediocre heavyweight. You’re messing with the best man on the planet.
      “And you saw that tonight with what happened.”

      Fury vs Ngannou?
      Well, it seems retirement is over, sort of.
      While Fury claims to be walking away from traditional boxing, he is open to a crossover “hybrid” fight with Francis Ngannou.
      The UFC champ joined Fury during his US TV interview.

      Out of nowhere, Fury landed a scything uppercut that floored Whyte.
      Although the Londoner got to his feet, he stumbled over to the referee who had the easiest of decisions to make in front of 94,000 people at Wembley.
      Whyte was helped back to his corner where he had an oxygen mask put over his mouth.

      Thankfully it was not for long, and the defeated 34-year-old made his way out of the ring un-assisted.
      He required stitches to a cut he received, but did NOT go to hospital.
      With less than 20 seconds of the sixth round remaining, Fury caught Whyte with a beautifully-timed right uppercut.

      The challenger almost crashed into the ropes second after the referee’s call to prove he was fine, prompting the ref to mercifully call a halt to the proceedings.
      Wembley erupted after Fury’s victory in his homecoming was confirmed.
      Moments after having his hand raised, an elated Fury said: “I’m overwhelmed with the support.
      “I cannot believe 94,000 countrymen and women came here tonight to see me perform.
      “From the bottom of my heart thank you so much, thank you so much to everyone who bought a ticket tonight or stay up late to watch it on TV.”

      Whyte landed his first clubbing left hook but then had a heavyweight wrestle and the little official was brave to get in between almost 40st of raging bull.

      Fury’s trainer Sugar Hill Steward told his man to dance and jab in the fifth and avoid the roughhousing.
      Whyte seemed to wobble from a left hook but he looked at the canvas like he was searching for divot and laughed it off.
      Fury then cracked in a one-two that almost definitely hurt the former kickboxer and he started to use the better body blows.

      Then there was a ten second warning for the end of tehe round and Fury detonated a magnificent uppercut for the ages.

      Ngannou is currently embroiled in a contract dispute with the UFC brass and has turned down a bumper new deal from the MMA promotion.
      The Cameroonian-born Frenchman – whose contract with UFC expires in December – wants the freedom to box in addition to a pay rise.

      The fight had been plunged into doubt with Usyk joining the military in the defence of his home country.

      Just like the Olympic gold medallist did after his loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, Joshua wants to right his wrong by facing the Ukrainian in a rematch.
      Usyk outpointed and largely outclassed a game Joshua in front of 70,000 fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last year to win the WBA, WBO, IBF & IBO world titles.
      Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn admitted after that his client boxed nowhere near to the ability he would do in a potential rematch.
      AJ, meanwhile, said the fight was a learning experience in the post-fight news conference, vowing to gain his vengeance on Usyk.
      Since then, the two sides have been negotiating toward a huge money-spinning sequel, but offers for Joshua to step aside to allow an undisputed clash with Tyson Fury has delayed the process.
      Fury, however, will fight mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte next, leaving Usyk and Joshua to fight once again.
      Joshua is also on the search for a new trainer, having trialled American coaches Robert Garcia, Virgil Hunter, Ronnie Shields and Canelo Alvarez’s trainer Eddy Reynoso.
      When is Joshua vs Usyk 2?

      Joshua vs Usyk 2 has yet to be confirmed with a concrete date – although it is understood to be in July.
      According to reports, the new date is set to be July 23 – but this is unconfirmed.
      But Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine had thrown the entire bout into doubt with Usyk involved in the war effort, but he has told ministers he wants to get into a training camp for the bout.
      That would also open up the opportunity for Joshua vs Usyk 2 to take place in an outdoor stadium in the UK.

      Joshua’s last fight with Usyk with shown live on Sky Sports Box Office for a price of £24.95.
      It’s unclear which channel the rematch will take place on, but expect Matchroom’s broadcast partners DAZN to bid aggressively for the rights to the fight in the UK.
      DAZN costs £7.99 to subscribe to in the UK, but the streaming service are likely to add a pay-per-view arm to their model this year.

      Where will Joshua vs Usyk 2 take place?
      Hearn has previously claimed the fight will be held in another open-air UK stadium.
      He said after the fight: “It’s very likely to happen in the UK, but we’ll sit down and look at the options.
      “There will be approaches to do it elsewhere. (But) after Saturday, the pluses and minuses of Saturday, I mean, have you ever seen anything like that? How good was it? Have you ever seen anything like that?
      “So I’d like to do it in England again. Maybe at Spurs, maybe at Wembley, maybe at the Emirates. They’ll be approaches to do it elsewhere but I don’t see any reason to take it outside of England.”
      There are also likely to be approached from the Middle East for the fight, with Saudi Arabia having held Joshua’s clash against Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.
