MANNY PACQUIAO is being linked with a sensational boxing comeback after losing the Philippines presidential election. The boxing icon was beaten by Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr in the political poles after officially launching his campaign in February.

It came after he retired from boxing following defeat to Cuban Yordenis Ugas last August.
But according to World Boxing News, talk of a return to the ring for Pacquiao, 43, has already began.
They suggest the eight-division champion will need money after spending a lot on his presidential run.
And it is added that rumours of a fight in Las Vegas – a year after his last – are “already in the pipeline”.

Pacquiao was due to fight Errol Spence Jr, before the unbeaten American suffered an eye injury.
As a result, Ugas replaced Spence and went on to beat and ultimately send PacMan into retirement.
Spence, 32, in April then beat Ugas, 35, to become the unified WBA, WBC and IBF welterweight champ.
And it has set up a blockbuster undisputed title decider with long-time rival Terence Crawford, 34.

And he believes even if Joshua, 32, loses his rematch to Oleksandr Usyk, 35, a fight with Wilder still remains on the cards.
Stiverne, 43, told Planet Sport: “I think the only fight that’s left for him to do money wise would be Joshua.

Wilder won the belt against Stiverne in 2015 on points and went on to make 10 successful defences, including a rematch KO against the Canadian.
But he lost the title to Fury in 2020 after drawing in 2018, before then suffering defeat in the trilogy bout last year.
Wilder has not confirmed whether he will retire or return, meanwhile Fury has announced he will hang up his gloves.
That came after knocking out Dillian Whyte, 34, in April and ending hopes of an undisputed title decider.

DMITRY BIVOL is ready to go down in weight and fight Canelo Alvarez for all the super-middleweight belts in a rematch. The Russian, 31, stunned boxing’s biggest star with a shock points win in Las Vegas, where he defended his WBA light-heavyweight title.

They had previously held talks to fight at the 168lb super-middleweight limit, where Canelo is undisputed king.
The Mexican has a rematch clause in his contract and hinted that he could exercise it to fight Bivol next.
But the unbeaten 175lb champ fancies turning the tables and moving down to try and dethrone Canelo of all four super-middleweight straps.

Despite his admission, promoter Eddie Hearn believes a rematch remains likely.
Hearn admitted: “It’s like Saul wants to handicap himself to have the toughest challenges, and that sometimes can backfire.
