SUPER flyweight boxer Jan Salvatierra was sent through the ropes following a brutal ‘knockout of the year’ from John Ramirez on Saturday.Ramirez made his move halfway through the first round, landing a powerful right hand.

The punch forced his opponent backwards and sent him hurtling through the ropes.
Luckily, a ringside photographer was in the right place at the right time and acted quickly to prevent the boxer from sustaining a serious injury by cradling his neck.
Against all odds, Salvatierra was able to get back up and climb back into the ring before the count was over.
But the referee called time on the fight regardless.

That’s the opposite to Holyfield, who has turned full-time pro to establish his own career.
But last night’s surprise upset will certainly be a major blow to his hopes of emulating his father and becoming a world champion.
However, he refused to be deterred from achieving his goals as he took to social media afterwards.

He stopped Charles Stanford in just the second round of their super-welterweight bout.
Evan first of all rocked Stanford with a vicious left hook before a booming overhand right sent the 35-year-old sprawling to the canvas.
The bout barely lasted a round, with Stanford savagely knocked out just 22 seconds into the second.

Taylor, 31, most recently defended his titles against Jack Catterall in February, coming out on top via points in a controversial win at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.
The Tartan Tornado was ordered by the WBA to take on fellow undefeated fighter, Alberto Puello of the Dominican Republic for his next match.
But the governing body have said Taylor’s team’s failed to correspond with them and meet a deadline to take forward a bout with the top-ranked challenger.
A statement from the WBA read: “The World Boxing Association (WBA) championships committee, in accordance with the organisation’s rules, has decided that the super lightweight title, which was held by the Scottish Josh Taylor, is vacant as of May 13.”

Taylor responded on social media and claimed he had actually decided to vacate the belt himself.
He tweeted: “FYI, I vacated it the belt I want (sic) stripped.”
Taylor explained in another tweet that he had spoken with the WBA a fortnight ago.
He said: “I spoke with them a couple of weeks ago and told them I’m vacating it.”
