BRITISH light-heavyweight boxer Anthony Yarde is confident he can beat light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev if they meet.Beterbiev beat Joe Smith Jr inside two rounds on Saturday to add the WBO title to his WBC and IBF belts.

The Canada-based Russian is now set to go toe-to-toe with Yarde in October.
And while the 37-year-old boasts a perfect record of 18-0, with 18 knockouts, Yarde is confident he can upset the apple cart.

However, Beterbiev could also consider a unification bout against current WBA champion Dmitry Bivol, but Yarde is unlikely to step aside to allow this to happen.
Yarde added: “The key to beating Beterbiev is to be sharper, quicker, more intelligent and we’ll see on fight night. From what I saw today, he’s a heavy hitter but he was just swinging shots over the top.
“As you’ve seen in boxing time and time again, the punch that hurts the most, is the punch you don’t see. To me, they both looked slow.”
A fight against Beterbiev would be Yarde’s second attempt at a championship, with his first ending in defeat to then WBO champion Sergey Kovalev in 2019. More

“That could be really interesting. He’s skilled enough, I’m going to give it him, he’s skilled enough because he keeps winning,” Tyson said.
“Even if he is fighting fighters that aren’t meant to be good enough, they should still be beating him but they can’t. He is beating people that he shouldn’t really be beating so you have to give him credit.
“He is doing good and he is doing things that are great for boxing. This guy has seven million people following him every time he fights.

Fury is now back in training ahead of a return to the ring.
Fury had pledged to quit in April after his KO of Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium left him undefeated.
But he is now prepared to fight again – as long as the price is right.
