The pair came face to face today for the first time since the bout was announced – in what is being dubbed Eubank-Benn III following their fathers’ two famous meetings in the 1990s.
And Eubank Jr rocked up to the media event in a Floyd Mayweather-style jacket which has a retail value of $10,000 (£8,246).
Eubank was visibly the bigger of the two men as they measured each other up in a stare off.
Benn is moving up from welterweight (147lbs), while Eubank Jr is dropping down from middleweight (160lbs).

Due to Eubank’s superior size, a rehydration clause limiting him to what he can weigh the next morning after the weigh-in has been put in place.
But the 32-2 fighter insists that is only in place to prevent the bout from being a one-way demolition job.
He said: “I can’t be 100 per cent when I have to go down to a weight I’ve never been to and then I can’t rehydrate fully.
“That’s fair, because if I’m 100 per cent it’s a public execution, I have to be at a disadvantage to make the fight reasonable.

“I’ll be 60 per cent on the night, and that will be enough to do whatever I want with you.”
When the dads met in 1990, Chris Eubank Sr beat Nigel Benn via stoppage.
The pair then controversially drew the second contest three years later in a clash many felt Benn did enough to win.

And Nigel’s son Conor is now motivated to seek some retribution for those two fights.
He said: “Dad had a draw the last fight, we know he should have won.

Conor Benn out to ‘set the score straight’ with Chris Eubank Jr after his dad’s controversial draw in 1993 rematch

CONOR BENN is out to “set the score straight” against Chris Eubank Jr on behalf of his dad Nigel. Benn and Eubank Jr are matched for a DAZN pay-per-view blockbuster on October 8, almost 30 years after their dads’ famous rematch.

That ended a draw, following Eubank’s brutal win three years earlier, although several felt Nigel deserved the nod.
And with a trilogy failing to materialise, Benn is ready for redemption when the family feud is renewed three decades later.
He said: “Dad had a draw the last fight, we know he should have won. I’m just going to go in there and handle business and I settle the score.”
Benn, 25, will have to jump up 10lb from his usual 147lb weight class with the the bout set at 157lb.

Eubank Jr, 32, on the other hand is a career middleweight at 160lb, who has even campaigned as high as 168lb.
The weight disparity has meant the two will meet between the 154lb light-middleweight and middleweight limit.
And due to Eubank’s superior size, a rehydration clause limiting him to what he can weigh the next morning has been put in place.
Although the exact amount was not revealed live on stage as the fighting sons came face-to-face in London ahead of the fight.

It came when Tyson, who made his boxing comeback against Roy Jones Jr in November 2020, was just ten-years-old when he lost the first love of his life… a pigeon called Julius.
The 56-year-old had just been forced to say goodbye to the bird after it passed away.
But before he could hold a proper memorial, a bin man noticed Julius lifeless on a crate and disposed of him.
Speaking to World Boxing Council, he revealed: “One morning I woke up and found my favourite pigeon, Julius, had died. I was devastated and was gonna use his crate as my stickball bat to honour him.
“I left the crate on my stoop and went in to get something and I returned to see the sanitation man put the crate into the crusher.
“I rushed him and caught him flush on the temple with a titanic right hand, he was out cold.”

Tyson also revealed another story when a boy confronted him and brutally ripped the head off a pigeon.
He added: “The guy ripped the head off my pigeon. This was the first thing I ever loved in my life, the pigeon.
“I don’t know why, I feel ridiculous just trying to explain it. [Pigeons] are just so much like people.”

“I told him he was lying, he couldn’t swim for five hours.
“But his trainer told me it was true and then showed me a video of him in this huge Olympic pool just going up and down for five hours.”
Usyk’s gruelling training sessions over the last year have seen him pack on several pounds of muscle.
The undefeated Ukrainian tipped the scales at a solid 100kg (224.5lbs) for his Tottenham tussle with AJ last September – which he won via unanimous decision.

Logan Paul left ex-Floyd Mayweather opponent Victor Ortiz in ‘shock and awe’ after KO in sparring

LOGAN PAUL left ex-Floyd Mayweather opponent Victor Ortiz in ‘shock and awe’ after the YouTuber knocked out a sparring partner. Paul lured Mayweather out of retirement last year in a blockbuster bout at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

The YouTuber earned a draw after the eight-round contest.
And he did so after help from former welterweight champion Ortiz in training.
And in an interview with MMAFighting, Ortiz claimed the YouTuber KO’d the last of three sparring partners in the final round of their session.
It was a stark reminder of what Paul is capable of in the boxing ring, despite his lack of experience.

Ortiz said before the bout: “Mind you, these are full-on professional boxers. “I sat back in shock and awe.
“He was so composed and relaxed. He used his reach perfect – took a little step, hook down the middle, sleep. Night-night.
“My only complaint there is that he didn’t read him a bedtime story.
“I know what I know, and I know what I see. What I’m saying, in a sense, is that he will give Floyd trouble.”

Conor Benn’s trainer Tony Sims fears if ‘heavy’ Chris Eubank Jr will make 157lb catchweight causing fight to be OFF

CONOR BENN’S trainer Tony Sims is already fearing if Chris Eubank Jr will make their 157lb catchweight limit. Benn and Eubank are set for a DAZN pay-per-view blockbuster on October 8 at the O2 Arena, almost 30 years after their dads’ famous rematch.

Due to their size disparity, the born rivals have agreed to meet between weight divisions.
They came face to face for the first time since the fight announcement and eyed each other on stage at the press conference.
But it left esteemed British coach Sims already questioning if Eubank Jr can shave off the additional pounds.
And that would threaten to cancel the fight for the ages due to a clause in the contract prohibiting either from weighing in at 158.5lb.
    READ MORE IN BOXING
Sims told SunSport: “I’m just worried, looking at Eubank today, whether he can make the 157. He looked quite heavy.
“Let’s hope that he does because there’s a clause in the contract that if he goes to 158.5 then the fight could be off.
“I’m just hoping that he comes in, he said he can make the weight, he put it to us about being 157. So let’s hope he does.”
Benn, 25, will have to jump up 10lb from his usual 147lb weight class, where he is unbeaten in 21 fights with 14 knockouts.

Eubank Jr, 32, on the other hand is a career middleweight at 160lb, who has even campaigned as high as 168lb.
Despite Benn needing to bulk up in size, Sims actually wants the rising prospect to weigh in UNDER the 157lb limit.
He said: “You’d like to have done it at 154 in an ideal world but there’s no such thing as an ideal world.
“Eubank’s people came to us with 157, and when I summarised it, he’s got to get down to 157.
“But that only evens it up as Conor’s got to go up to 157. He probably won’t even go up to 157 on the weigh in, he’ll probably be 155.
“So the fight evens out a little bit like that.”
